Edit need sdkcerts if stock rom.
I saw it too and tried it out. I like it. It does speed some things up, messaging was really bugging me and now I can tolerate it. But using DCD's 4.1.2 there hasn't been any drastic improvements, it's already a fast rom. Still good app, noticed my battery lasting longer using the hack too.
Nice to now it helps
I have noticed slight improvements everywhere. but im running 6.5 so it probably had some room for improvements as far as speed.

Speed increase after Rooting!

I've just finished rooting my Hero and I've got noticeable increase in speed, less lag and a generally snappier interface.
Has anyone else noticed anything like this? (It may just be me, but I don't think so!)

Well..I think you might have a point there. I experience the Hero now faster as well...
My phone is rooted - seems same to me.
UHM...very strange. Did you check your CPU speed?
Had the opposite effect for me, once I rooted and started adding swapper etc it all went wrong and slow etc.
Flashed back the stock from here and now all good and speedy.
Russ
Since rooting the phone just gives you root-access I very much doupt that it alone would affect the speed of your phone in any direction.

Which method did you use to root your hero?
I used the guide on: h**p://theunlockr.com/2009/08/08/how-to-gain-root-access-on-your-htc-hero

No tweaked ROM fix the bug about low SD transfer speed in ICS?

The stock ICS is nice to use, but one insufferable thing is the low SD transfer speed. Compared to the speed at 3~4MB/s in 2.x, it is only about 1MB/s in ICS.
Not sure if it is a bug. But after browsing all tweaked ICS in XDA, i found no one fix it. Except Brainmaster improves it to about 2MB/s.
Just look forward to get the same speed with 2.x, since it really matters in our daily life when transferring some large files like games,videos...
If someone find the solution, please share. Thanks a lot.

Slow USB transfer speed on my phone. please help.

Hi All
I've been using ICS since pretty much day one when i bought the phone.
I realized the USB transfer speed when I copy files is very low.
in my phone around 1.3MB/s and on another 1.9MB/s
both are incredibly slow.
Could you guys help me determine whether this is a problem only affecting my phones, or is something ICS related?
Seems to be ICS related, many threads saying the same problem. I'm getting a middle-ground speed personally on ICS.
If you want to transfer large files, you might prefer doing it via mounting the sdcard through recovery (assuming you have a custom one, don't think stock can do this).
It is Google who may completely solve this problem...

nope, GB has this problem too.
i opened a thread about this on the google support forums, but didnt get any helpful answers. nobody know how to solve this.
the transfer-rate just stays around 1.3 mb/s, tops (for me at least). this is painfully slow. i'm pretty sure google locks the speed somehow, for whatever reason.
on my n900 i get my usual 10-12 mb/s write speed, no matter if internal storage or microsd. why cant the nexus do this?
I wonder whether thee from devs are aware of this. Should be able to fix it.. how can we let them know?
I'm fairly certain the devs are aware of this. Maybe the CM team has something in mind here, i havn't tested sd speed on any CM9 ROM - or maybe they need some notification. It may not be a "bug" in the common sense, but possibly a series of underlying issues which increase the transfer rate. Maybe I'll test some things later to see if i can get a better idea on what is the cause.
For the record, I could get around 3-4MB/s on GB, i get around 2.5 - 3MB/s on ICS. In recovery i get closer to 4 - 4.5MB/s. The flash memory inside the Nexus S is quite slow write-wise, sadly. External SDCards rely entirely on the Class it is in, C2 will be very slow, C4 faster, up to C12 or whatever they have now which are happy to write Full HD video in real time.
got the same prob since beginning of the ics era ...

Can anyone vouch for Kuban Odexer?

My phone runs pretty damn good right now. But I ran across this app and went to read about it in the market. Can anyone tell me if this will increase performance and/or stability? Have any of you used it? Here is the link to the market.
