April Fools day much?

you bastard! lol dont ever scare me like that again!

I guess I'm naive as f***!.... I didn't see where it hinted as AprFools joke... is the site itself a hoax site like the Onion?

That's a good one LOL

either the folks at gizmodo are a bunch of clever assholes or this guy is telling the truth
http://gizmodo.com/5507418/apples-htc-complaint-is-officially-moving-forward

Oh I hope that second link is a hoax as well.
My dislike for Apple is growing to a point where I might actually do something about it.

I don't think the second link is a hoax - read the article.
It says the suit is going forward, no shocker there, and that a ban COULD happen if HTC is found to be violating the patents.
It really doesn't do anything but undermine the original article posted which states the ban is in effect. This thing is going to take a while to flush out - and it's something a court would have to order....the first link is either a hoax or entirely inaccurate.

I hope google decides to weigh in on this by updating iPhone/iPad variants of their products to no longer work..
Of course that would never happen. Google isn't evil

ITs fake. Nice joke...I'm sure Engadget would have picked it up also.

Sprint Employees view of XDA Devs

Just a tidbit of interest here concerning the koolaid that Sprint employees are trying to push. The Sprint employee "mykey" on Sprints Community Forums has all but called the knowledgable and hard working devs here liars concerning the CDMA kernal. Some of you might at least get a laugh out of it! A Sprint idiot at his best! community.sprint.com/baw/thread/25921?start=15&tstart=0&reqsorting=dec
wow thats epic.
ignorance is bliss, "I'm an employee, I know better than anyone else because I have the 'inside scoop'." Except for the slight detail that he's completely wrong about the source code being released, in a sense is is released, but only partially as it is lacking the cdma specific portions.
Edit: He really is cocky and ignorant. Oh well, not worth my time arguing on the internets with a douche-nozzle like that.
That guy is an absolute clown. I'm sure he knows he's wrong by now, but won't be admitting it or apologizing to the folks in that thread.
Being an employee means nothing when it comes to information. I myself am a sprint employee. Sadly many of our customers have more information than what we are privvied. We are usually made aware of upcoming changes about 1 to 2 weeks before they actually go into effect, and most of which has already been leaked or confirmed online prior to it ever hitting us.
edit :found it
this guy is just a douchebag that is probably a "technition at a sprint store so he thinks that he is just the man.
I will be the first to admit that I had some reservations about following advice on this forum. However when I had a problem with my hero (see this thread) I spent an hour on the phone with sprints "advanced tech support" and they couldnt figure it out. I put the thread up and 40 minutes later the first post that replied nailed the problem right off the bat.
I learned my lesson, post here first and then if no one here can help, might as well get a new phone.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I work with everything now, not just phones. I'm tired of speaking to (no offense)people in countries such as India that I can barely understand, and to top off the matter, don't really no what I'm talking about.
It looks like they don't want us posting on the subject anymore:
----------------------------------------
Sorry folks - this thread has generated more than enough abuse reports for personal attacks and more.
I'm closing the thread.
If you chose to take the GPL issue up again, please keep your posts professional, courteous and if you work for Sprint remember that you are representing the company when you post - even off hours.
-----------------------------------------
I wasn't abusive...much.
make a new thread and continue it on lol

he he. I outright cursed the bastard out. It pisses me off when the devs work their asses off on this **** because a company refuses to give us what we have a right to have and then some smart ass says they dont know anything. Ooh it pisses me off.
lol deep breaths chuck anybody with a brain knows that that guy was full of it.
good read...just wanted sound smart and got shot down...
Wow... Educated much?
As an employee, I can honestly say, even during some of my calls, I refer to this forum for answers. xda for android and ppcgeeks for winmo is pretty much biblical when it comes for hard facts, knowledge, and know how. I just had to say that. I don't post much, but I've been able to a lot of tough questions based on the answers found here.
I can't stand Sprint's forums. They are about as fair and balanced as Fox news.

That insanity has actually been implemented in the "free" ad supported game Wordfeud
I would gladly pay for the game, its a good game, but that bullcrap is not welcome on my phone.
I'm so disgusted with this right now I think I'm gonna take sick time for the rest of this day (kidding, but I am truly disgusted by this)

not only that, but this is more PS3 related then android in anyway...if you read ANY of the legal docs you would know all of geohots computers/equipment was confiscated during the trial, and i doubt that he would go out buy a pc just so he could crack the bootloader, AND not only that, he said the REASON he bought the x10 was to get a feel for the security so he could crack the play. BUT since the play's bootloader should already be unlocked it really doesnt matter.

Or let me guess he's emperor of sony, bow down to him and give him a oil change.

How am I not related to Sony Ericsson? I have an X10, among other Sony products.
You are the one who went completely off topic, and turned them dropping the charges to pissing on their own customers.
This action by Sony is the third step in recent weeks to right their former mistakes. Whether the GEOhot decision is directly related to the bootloader opening or the gingerbread update remains to be seen, but they most certainly are not pissing on their customers. It is actually quite the opposite.
For someone who brags about an IQ of 170, you really seem to be illogical and immature.
*sigh*
SE announces Gingerbread update for X10, some people are unhappy.
Sony drops lawsuit against Geohot, same people are unhappy.

Sorry I am a weak minded fool with ADD! Im so insecure. Do you know what stephen hawking has to say about your iq?
Hawking was asked about his IQ in a 2004 newspaper interview, and replied, "I have no idea. People who boast about their I.Q. are losers." Yet when asked "Are you saying you are not a genius?", Hawking replied "I hope I'm near the upper end of the range."
But props to geohot. Not a god but deserving recognition. I wonder if anon made an impact at all?

It's impressive how threads go from Zero to Trolling in less than 5 posts.
Sony is trying to do some PR damage control. Sony HAS to do something about the hack because it's a public company and answers to stockholders. It really is that simple. No one in this story has to be evil. No one in this story needs to brag about an IQ of 170.
The fact that suing the hacker in no way prevents further hacking of the PS3 was an oversight that Sony's top management forgot to consider when they panicked. But they needed to react in SOME way.
I agree: suing a kid for meddling with proprietary software was not the smartest way to prevent further hacking. Sony seems to have patched the security flaw with the latest firmware and has let every other GeoHot wannabe that there WILL be repercussions if they try to **** with their console security again.

Please vote for Samsung SII over IPhone in this newspaper article

Hi folks,
There is an article about the upcoming iphone 5 in a UK newspaper:
www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2033976/Could-Apples-iPhone-5-slated-launch-October-21.html
All the comments are from apple fanboys, and their are two comments praising the Samsung Galaxy S2 bu they have been red-arrowed (people voting the comment down). Could you please help stick up for the Samsung and green-arrow those comments? You dont need to register, just press the green arrow next to the Samsung Galaxy comments - thanks!

Lol. Man, after our recent discussion on another thread I find myself totally agreeing with you here.
I personally couldn't care less what some rag says about my phone, especially when comparing it to another one (whatever it may be). I like my phone. That's all I'm bothered about!
Some funny comments left on that page though.

If people that insecure that they need to argue over whose phone is better in an online newspaper article, then they need to find something better to do with their time.
Apple fanboys are probably the most rabid of all fanboys. It's like trying to convince a Christian that there is no God.

Wait, what? How can you even begin to justify this statement? The Woz is a co-founder of Apple and probably holds more patents himself than you can shake a stick at. If that guy doesn't know what he is talking about, no one does.

From the article: "If you're shocked to see such a senior figure at Apple blurt out such an anti-Apple opinion..."
Actually, Wozniak hasn't been an employee in any normal sense at Apple for a long time. He does hold a significant number of shares of course.
That aside, I have to say, that article kind of raised my opinions abuot Woz. I knew he was a fan of Android - but it's good to see him come right out and say what needs to be said.
