Twitter login

Sorry if this been posted, but searched and didn't find anything conclusive. I have this issue with all manilla 2.5.19193*
When login to twitter it accepts my user + password, then just stucks downloading tweets, please wait...
if I change manilla page, then come back, allways gives a connection error.
This happens on all 2.519193* manilla that I've tested. is just me ?

thanks for your reply, did it but it still doesn't work. it accepts login, but then will not get any information from twitter. each time try to refresh it just rise an error connecting.

hmm. Maybe try a few times? Or at Manila there click "all tweets" then "update now". I'm not sure about yours. As I faced this problem and used the method suggested by him and it worked.

Its buggy as hell, some days it works for me, some days it doesnt.
HTC and Twitter have had problems with HTC Peep but according to HTCs twitter-page the problems are solved.
But i still cant add any twitts from my device, I can recieve though.
Hopefully it will be fixed when newer Manila packages arrives.

for me i can tweet from my hd. Hmmm. Buggy as hell - best description

I only deleted TwitterToken, TwitterTokenSecret and TwitterUserName from the registry then soft reset and it logged in ;-))) Thanks

New SMS hotfix

What does the new HTC SMS Hotfix do?
Because i dont see the difference..

That's not very helpful is it Noam23. You forgot to mention that keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers just that: fast and reliable SMS messaging.

I downloaded the hotfix too and found out that when press 'send' your message blinks to show that it was successfully sent. Previously, my message resides in either 'out' or draft and there was no indication that the operation is successful.

I'm using V6 Test 1 Brians Taskbar and it seems that since the sms hotfix, my "new message" notification icon has reverted back to the default icon. All the other icons are as they should be. Anyone else noticed this? I did reinstall the taskbar at some point though, so for all i know it could have been this way since then. Perhaps needs another reinstall.

Interesting! I'm not in a position to reinstall at the mo. It make any difference for you?

UPDATE: I was talking nonsense - i have the cab on my storage card. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the taskbar, and the problem has gone away - back to the correct sms bubble thingy

*Note: This update is only applicable to ROM version is equal to 1.49.XXX.X, or lower. *
I don't think the sms hot fix is meant for ROM1.61. Should be integrated within 1.61.

[HOTFIX] Fix for SMS Sent Message Notification Always On

The fix to the sent notification problem is in the HTC New SMS Function HotFix (24-01-2010). It will downgrade the HTC Messaging Client to V1.5 (build 2011.3631) which works fine and NO SENT MESSAGE NOTIFICATION!!
If you have a Rom with this problem and want to disable the Sent Notification message then you can extract the exe file from the attached zip file, copy it to your phone and install. I dont know if it downgrades any functionality but it stops the Sent Message Notification from coming through which is annoying everyone.

Yes thats what I meant lol
Well the HTC Messaging Client in the new Manila Build is 2012.1931 so I can only assume that HTC either made a mistake in that build and enabled the Sent Notification permanently so it cant be disabled or they decided that it should always be on.
Either way the HotFix 'downgrade' option will fix the annoying problem.

I'm using that HTC Messaging build and don't have it on using Miri's ROM but did using Duttys HG ROM...still, good look

On my Diamond, I could go into the options and turn on delivery reports for a particular message. Anybody know how to do that on any Leo ROM?

Just install Advanced Config, then run it and go down to the messaging tab and enable the SMS Sent Notification option.

Message Delivered Notification or Message Sent Notification? You cant do it just for a particular message, only all of them.

You cant turn it on or off for a single message but its easy enough to do it for all messages.

Meh, this is useful sometimes, but not always (since I'm charged for it). Why do they have to get rid of useful features? This has been possible on Nokias since the dawn of time, and I was able to do it on my Diamond. :'(

I really dont know why since all it does is update the htc messaging app and nothing else. If its causing alot of problems then a hard reset will get everything back to normal.

I have the most recent rom from the htc website, i never got the sent message popup, tried that advance config tool, turned it on and it still don't show =(

i have this problem with the axlor rom.
i down loaded and extracted the exe put it on my phone but it wont install.
just says there is no application associated with htc hd2 ect
run the app first then open this file from within the aplication?
am i doing somthing rong?

Is this actually a hotfix or is it again some Radio or sth. like that? I don't trust HTC's descriptions anymore...
Can't load it atm. BTW it is called "LEO_S00276-02.exe".

mmmmmmmmmm not sure: on the italian site the old new sms update disappeared and this same new one appeared today

I was sure it had a date from january in it earlier today...

Just Dloaded same update on Philippines site. Installed it and also not sure what it updated. Hope it fixed the lag issue and the message highlighting that is very annoying.

That is a new file name. I do not recognise it. I have the released HTC Messaging 1.8 from this forum, and eventhough the MMS doesnt work properly I dont fancy deploying a new and official update LOL.
EDIT: This update is for the HD Mini, not the HD2!

This isnt new. The only new update is for the HD Mini. The link above is a hotfix from January.

See the old SMS update a few posts above yours. This has a different filename so I think it is new.

i downloaded it and not sure what it has done apart from take up 15mb of my phone storage, the lag is still the and the silly high light thing is still there, come on htc sort it out the only prob with our top end phone is the txting

HTC seem to be chaning a lot of dates on already submitted hotfxes lately it seems...

Well, but it should be new. I unpacked the EXE with WinRAR and there are lots of files edited within June, the latest edit was on June 26th. And the XML within clearly sais that there are lots of files replaced containing HTC messaging.

I only have 8Mb of internal storage left so I guess this update isn't for me, whether or not it's actually for the HD2 or not. It's strange, but I have the same applications installed on my iPAQ 214 and have many time as much on-board storage left. I suppose I'll have to wait for the next ROM update (laughs maniacally.)
Whatever, this is probably just another one of HTC's one day wonders. There have been other updates that have disappeared within a few days of appearing.

Hi,
I have the same update appearing under the French HD2 support page. The file is named _HTC HD2_LEO_S00276-02 and has a digital signature from June 25th.
Anyway, if it doesn't help with the lag, installing it would be useless.
Edit : There you go, it disappeared.

Hey everybody, I just cant seem to get my head around this, could someone please help me out
Im trying to make WM SMS the default SMS client in my Leo Rom (Like NRGZ28 does)
I tried the cab by zenkinz:

And it works great but I cant seem to cook it in.
I used an CAB to EXT utility to try and make a package out of it, and it half worked, however when in the htc sense people list, scrolling across to the text tab, gives me a black screen.
so then I tried add2config (I thought this would be the best solution, so people could uninstall the cab and use normal htc messaging if they wanted to) however with this, the phone is constantly stuck in the initial customization ( I expect its something to do with the prompts you get when installing the cab)
so finally I tried this, I didnt cook in the htc messaging client at all, and I added this reg tweak in:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging\Compose]
"ExecPathName"="Tmail.exe"
But this is giving me the same black screen when on the text sub tab of the people tab.
Can someone PLEASE help me get this sorted please its really getting me stressed
Also, I thought if I used WM SMS I wouldnt have to abide by HTC Messages 160 charecter limit, but this doesnt seem to be the case? any ideas?

Try disabling these packages: HTCMessage, HTCMessaging_Client, Message_Enhancement, Text_Selection.

i just use these methods it works great i dont have that blackscreen ....maybe your reg entries overwriting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think its the reg not being good as i have that problem when i take out the reg settings:-o
you can help it by first going to the messaging tab and open a text message there then youre blackscreen will be gone
but then again i only get this problem when i take out those regsettings so i definetly think its the reg not being proccesed right:-o

Nah I solved it for me I was using an ext pkg, supposedly just for games, and I looked at the reg, and its full of messaging reg entries :O
solved now.
