The fix to the sent notification problem is in the HTC New SMS Function HotFix (24-01-2010). It will downgrade the HTC Messaging Client to V1.5 (build 2011.3631) which works fine and NO SENT MESSAGE NOTIFICATION!!
If you have a Rom with this problem and want to disable the Sent Notification message then you can extract the exe file from the attached zip file, copy it to your phone and install. I dont know if it downgrades any functionality but it stops the Sent Message Notification from coming through which is annoying everyone.

Well the HTC Messaging Client in the new Manila Build is 2012.1931 so I can only assume that HTC either made a mistake in that build and enabled the Sent Notification permanently so it cant be disabled or they decided that it should always be on.
Either way the HotFix 'downgrade' option will fix the annoying problem.

Meh, this is useful sometimes, but not always (since I'm charged for it). Why do they have to get rid of useful features? This has been possible on Nokias since the dawn of time, and I was able to do it on my Diamond. :'(

I really dont know why since all it does is update the htc messaging app and nothing else. If its causing alot of problems then a hard reset will get everything back to normal.

I have the most recent rom from the htc website, i never got the sent message popup, tried that advance config tool, turned it on and it still don't show =(

i have this problem with the axlor rom.
i down loaded and extracted the exe put it on my phone but it wont install.
just says there is no application associated with htc hd2 ect
run the app first then open this file from within the aplication?
am i doing somthing rong?

You might want to try again with the steps. I just got done doing mine and it works perfectly. I dont have any of the htc messaging left. Thank GOD. Yeah, uninstall the cab and do the 3 steps again. Good luck

Well i'm running Sense 2.5 and the CM one doesn't work, the zenyee one re-enables SMS in the WinMo Messaging app.

When i click on a text message in the sms tab on Sense 2.5 nothing happens. and when i slide over to sms while viewing a contact, it closes the contact :\
but if i go into my email inbox and swipe to the right i can get to SMS now, it is better than nothing but very annoying. Also when in a call i can't click the sms button to view sms with caller either :\
Have you removed all of the other ones you tried? Maybe, if you feel like it, try the one i linked after a hard reset. I havent tried it on a 2.5 rom myself. Maybe some others willing to try can post results.

Tilt 2 HTC Messaging
To get to the point, I hate the new HTC Messaging. I want desperately to go back to Windows Mobile SMS. I have tried the "Zenyee Disable SMS" cab and it is quite buggy on my Tilt 2. I either don't get the text messages or I receive them hours later. Any suggestions?

That's not very helpful is it Noam23. You forgot to mention that keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers just that: fast and reliable SMS messaging.
I downloaded the hotfix too and found out that when press 'send' your message blinks to show that it was successfully sent. Previously, my message resides in either 'out' or draft and there was no indication that the operation is successful.
I'm using V6 Test 1 Brians Taskbar and it seems that since the sms hotfix, my "new message" notification icon has reverted back to the default icon. All the other icons are as they should be. Anyone else noticed this? I did reinstall the taskbar at some point though, so for all i know it could have been this way since then. Perhaps needs another reinstall.

UPDATE: I was talking nonsense - i have the cab on my storage card. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the taskbar, and the problem has gone away - back to the correct sms bubble thingy

I don't think the sms hot fix is meant for ROM1.61. Should be integrated within 1.61.

I made a cab from the 2009-12-15 Leo SMS fix (http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=812&news_id=407), so this can be installed on other devices with Sense 2.5..
I'm on a sense 2.1 rom currently, so can't test it...So be careful, it might break ur SMS function, test with your own risk and always backup (I guess the new 2.02 package has the update already or even a better fix)..

i'm not sure what it fixes... but it doesn't seem to fix the annoying slow messaging thingy... I was just coverting the .exe which can only be installed on HD2 to a cab that can be installed on every device..

Am I the only one in this thread that uses the actual HTC site? or do people just like to hijack threads and flame people who are doing what they can to help the community... As I remember no one else knew what the Leo Camera Fix did either, but it proved useful, at least for some.

Looks to me like HTC don't really say what the fix "fixes" but THANKS for creating the CAB, i'll have a look and see what it effects if anything. If it's worth it I'll cook it in for my next flash
Okay, have just installed the CAB.
So far no noticable difference when sending / recieving SMS.
I'm using my own custom ROM, using WinMo 6.5 28014, and most of the packages from Leo 1.48.

When the fix first came out, I tried it but it won't install on hd. and now I learned how to create the cab, so I just made it. I need to have my phone switched on all day right now and I'm with a sense 2.1 ROM, so can't test it, but I thought someone with a lower leo build may want to try it...

have you tried restoring tons of messages to see if the slowness has been somehow fixed ? Last time I've tried with 2.5 the phone almost got stuck (with about 600 messages)

you installed the fix and restored tons of sms, what I'd like to know is this:
- adding a contact with a lot of sms history to favourites slows down the phone ?
- opening such contact slows down everything ?
- I understand there is no sms history shown in the manila contact at all ? actually that point isn't very clear to me. where is that the original message is not shown ?
what I'd like to know, if you have got time to explain it to me, is what actually the fix changes, and how fast it makes opening sms history on a contact.
One last minor point is that a big sms history had most sms cut to one or two lines.

well for from the contact page i cannot tell you as i have flashed my phone a couple of times afterwords(im trying to build my own)
for the sms not shown
when i get a new message i go the message tab and click the sms
there im supposed to see the threaded conversation between the person im replying to
the whole conversation doesnt load(waited about 3 min)
but i can directly type a reply to the text message whitout a lag

no, the sms fix is only for Leo package lower than 1.49...and the weather fix is for any sense 2.5.. I think 2.1 manila does not need any fix, both sunny animation and sms are working ok in 2.1 manila

Im trying to make WM SMS the default SMS client in my Leo Rom (Like NRGZ28 does)
I tried the cab by zenkinz:

I used an CAB to EXT utility to try and make a package out of it, and it half worked, however when in the htc sense people list, scrolling across to the text tab, gives me a black screen.
so then I tried add2config (I thought this would be the best solution, so people could uninstall the cab and use normal htc messaging if they wanted to) however with this, the phone is constantly stuck in the initial customization ( I expect its something to do with the prompts you get when installing the cab)
so finally I tried this, I didnt cook in the htc messaging client at all, and I added this reg tweak in:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging\Compose]
"ExecPathName"="Tmail.exe"
But this is giving me the same black screen when on the text sub tab of the people tab.
Can someone PLEASE help me get this sorted please its really getting me stressed

Try disabling these packages: HTCMessage, HTCMessaging_Client, Message_Enhancement, Text_Selection.

i just use these methods it works great i dont have that blackscreen ....maybe your reg entries overwriting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think its the reg not being good as i have that problem when i take out the reg settings:-o
you can help it by first going to the messaging tab and open a text message there then youre blackscreen will be gone
but then again i only get this problem when i take out those regsettings so i definetly think its the reg not being proccesed right:-o

Nah I solved it for me I was using an ext pkg, supposedly just for games, and I looked at the reg, and its full of messaging reg entries :O

Hi all, sorry if its been asked B4 but i cant seem to find a definite answer or solution. Thing is I cant find an option for my HD2 to play a sound when i send a txt message (just peace of mind that its been sent realy) All notifications are switched on and i get a sound when i recieve messages but nothing to confirm 'message sent'. Tried going to settings/all settings/sounds & notifications where there is the option for mms sent play sound (which i activated) the option for message doesnt offer anything for message sent tho.
Anyone have any ideas...i am using a uk stock rom that hasnt been flashed

The only solution is to upgrade to the latest ROM 3.14 which from memory does have support for message sent on sms.

thanx for that. Thought that may be the case.Was hoping there would be a way round this without flashing roms...pretty much new to this device and currently has the dreaded .51 radio, which i have heard/read can be the death of these phones if attempting to flash, so im kinda put off messing with new roms etc..

Hey no worries dude this is a great community. I use taskmanager as my reg-editor. Do a search for it It should be free..
From memory there are 3 htc sms clients. That one linked which works for me but lacks the new folder(secure box) for saving sms, one that has that secure box function inbuilt but is older version and has chinese character problem and then a totally newer client which was recently released. To be honest the version in the link above does the job for me and now plays a sound and shows a notification.
It's great you dont have to do a whole flash ROM upgrade and that you can upgrade individual programmes in this phone. Makes it a really amazing phone.

Ye i agree, at first it seemed a little intimidating thinking i had to flash roms etc to actually install 'cabs' and such to the device...But am learning as i go that this is not the case. Will continue to read, read ,read through the exellent threads on XDA and over time unlock the true potential of the device.
