How I Change the destiny directory of Camera - neoTouch S200 General

Hi!
I've set the camera storage destination to SD CARD.
It's been saving on "Picture" folder of SD CARD, but I want to change it to other directory.
How can I do it?
Registry change? How do I change registry?
Thanks!

It would allso be great if somebody knew how to change that the camera creates a different folder each day.....

oh yeah... thats really annoying too ...

I use this fixed Camera.exe. It prevents camera from making a directory for every day. Replace the original with it in Windows directory on your neotouch. Also, don't blame me if you break your Acer with it.
Enjoy.
Also, I don't know who is the author of this. Thanks to him whoever he is.

thanks for that fix. that new directories every day were driving me nuts

Thanx. One question - is this universal language file, i mean - if i use it on the german ROM would the language of the Camera Application be english or is it stil german?
I am asking this because i have arto´s ROM in english and a friend of mine have the same device but with Geman ROM and would like to have the Camera-fix.

I don't know that, man. I suggest backup orifiginal exe and if your friend don't like it just put original back.

Thanks to the person who made this fix!
it worked 100% on my phone!!!

System apps fixed for VGA mode

I'm trying to fix the various system apps that appers scrambled using ozVga.
So, here is the first two: power and backlight
copy the file in the storage card, run them once (to register the certificate), then delete the final " .exe " and put them in the \windows folder.

Nice one keep them coming!

The camera don't work with the .0409.mui method, you have to replace the original one.

Yes, resource editing, thanks to your signcode I can now resign the files.
I'd tried this before for the phone, but whitout the certificate it didn't work, and now I don't want to spoil your work
Hey, if you can fix it, fix it!
I'm working on something else this weekend that I'm very enthusiastic about so don't have much time, and if there's a non resident fix, I think it's a much better solution!
I'm not too proud to admire an elegant solution.

Just trying these...
Will they prevent the system working if we switch back to QVGA mode? I.e. are these files permanent fixes for all circumstances or does the system only call them in VGA mode?

The system will work in QVGA, unfortunately for .exe file I can't make a .96.exe (resolution alternate resource) only a .0409.mui (language alternate resource), so it work only in VGA mode, when you switch back in QVGA you have to delete them.
Or you can setup ozvga to do that for you automately.
Good work.

camera.exe renaming
Hi davidkm123;
I had used resco explorer and it worked because this forces windows to rename an application and now have no problems. Use resco explorer.
or Total Commander
I extracted the file and place in storage card then run once, after that I deletted the .exe and dragged it o the windows folder....
But nothing happen!
still the old scramble display!
Have I done anything wrong?

by the way, when I run the OZVGA and my input panel icon is gone from my display....
can anyon e solve this?

.0409.mui is a substring for an alternate english resource, for running these apps on a different language you have to change the 0409 in the code for your country. Scan your \system folder and find what code you have to use.
You also have to rename trares0409.96.dll accordingly
P.S.
Maybe one of those:
Chinese (PRC) 0804
Chinese (Singapore) 1004
Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R.) 0c04

Thanks a lot, AZHAD

Backlight.exe & Power.exe.. Please?

Hi all,
Havn't posted for a while but I am still here! My exec seems to be running pretty fast now, using ozVGA
Anyways, just installed 2 patched *.exe files into windows directory (Backlight.exe.0409.mui.exe and Power.exe.0409.mui.exe) but me being stupid, I forgot to make a back up of the ORIGINAL backlight.exe and power.exe (located in the Windows DIR on the phone)...
So could somebody PLEASE upload me them two files, as I really need to restore them because using ozvga is hurting my eyes at the moment!
Thank you!
Not sure if this is what you want, since they are ROM files.
They originally had Read-Only, Hidden & System attributes set, but don't know if those will survive being compressed with WinZIP.

Exactly what i needed.. but I have no such luck of getting them onto the exec! i remove the attributes and it still doesn't let me copy!! DOH! any ideas? and thank you for such a quick reply

Sorry, wait a minute... That's better just got my spare (hopefully working) brain cell out of cold storage.
Both files are shown as "ROM" files if I look at their properties in the \Windows\ folder using Resco Explorer, so, errr..... won't they already be there if you delete whatever you've currently replaced them with?
Unfortunately, neither ActiveSync Explore, nor the PDA's File Explorer appear to allow you to overwrite an existing system file on the PDA. Resco's Explorer does allow this, although you get a message saying that the world will probably end if you do. I just tried copying another program into Windows as Backlight.exe. Then deleted my program, and the original was available again. But as mentioned, not posible with File Explorer, nor ActiveSync Explore.
Ok, simply by deleting the two files restored the default versions and fixed my problem.
Thanks for your advice, astage.

[SOLVED!] Any Language of WM5 on any Athena!

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that I have managed to translate 99% of all the WM5 interface to English or almost any language. The secret has been found long time ago by our friend Asukal: http://asukal.net/blog/
Some things like the battery panel, the soft keys on the Communication Manager are missing and others are not translated, maybe somebody can tell us how can we complete this work on the Athena.
Instructions:
1) Install ENG_mui.cab or any other desired language. Don't install ENG_Notifi_COM_BT or any other since they will change some settings.
2) Now you will notice that the Start Menu doesn't exist anymore! So go with the help of your keyboard to the File Explorer, go to /Windows and look for the folder on the Old Language that contains the Start Menu Folder, now rename it to: Start Menu. Then inside rename the folder that contains the Links to your programs to Programs and Create or Rename a Folder called Settings. All of them should be inside /Windows/Start Menu
The original work was made by our friend Asukal. Thank you very much for your hard work! And you can view the original post for the HTC Universal and the Languages Pack at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=267541&page=2
you can download all the CAB's that Asukal made with a lot of different languages (some of them are not finisihed) at: http://buzzdev.net/components/com_s...les/UI_LNG_SWT_beta_20060629193323_Asukal.rar
Feel free to ask me any question, I will try to do my best!
I will try to post some screen shots later...

The tweak works nice but camera application could not start. Will check further later. Meanwhile I have restored backup
I solved this by replacing /Windows/Camera.exe with one of the Camera.exe.* which size is 404 KBytes. Sorry but I can't remember the exact name.

where did you get the camera files from?
I got them from my /Windows directory they have been renamed by Asukal's translator. They have the extension: *.0404.mui
So the original file of Camera.exe (the one in Chinnese) has been renamed to Camera.exe.0404.mui, so once Asukal's CAB has been installed, rename Camera.exed to Camera.exe.old and rename Camera.exe.0404.mui to Camera.exe
In fact once you rename the working Camera.exe you will find a different Icon, like more "fashion". Hahaha!

Camera working now
I have the camera working now
I followed the instructions above, but before the procedure I created a folder on the storage card and copied all the file in the windows folder named camera for preservation
NB: I INSTALLED THE TWO CABS TO THE STORAGE CARD
ALL COPYING AND RE-NAMING WAS DONE WITH TOTAL COMMANDER
1. Ran the Language switcher cab and do a soft re-set.
2. May not be needed, but I started the switcher application and changed the language to English. Nothing changed of course
3. Installed the English mui and clicked ok for reset.
4. Copied all the camera files (4 of them, counting in Camera.exe.0413) to the Windows folder of device
5. Copied all content of the Windows sub-folders Start Menu and Programs from the old language Dutch in my case, to the new English folders.
6. Did same as in 5. for all the folders I wanted to re-name which would not take the new name
7.Camera works as normal, but I did not see the Microdrive to select in the initial settings. I believe that can be sorted with reg-edit or something else, but that is not important for me at the moment. Have not tested the front camera etc. I need to go and have a meal.
Am continueing to re-name the folders and checking the functions as I go along. Happy tweaking to all of you! Many thanks to Bogusiano and Wu.
Cheers
Very good! I am happy for you! I think this the closest we can get until a WWE ROM for the Dopod U1000 is released, for me at least, this is enough to enjoy my device meanwhile!

Yes, I know..
But I lose the warranty if I install a cooked rom....
If my device in future won't work correctly (or don't work at all) I wouldn't be able to put the original rom back??
Alternative Solution
You could compress the two executables with UPX and use Resco Explorer to overwrite them in the ROM. That won't save you as much space as moving them to external memory, but by compressing the files, you will save a decent amount of space.

Actually that will use MORE space. If the files are in ROM they arent using any of you Program RAM. If you overwrite the ROM files like this the new files will be in RAM!!!

Anyone know this inconveniet??
the only thing is with anything that you add to your ppc after initialization... it stores it to the ram, not the rom, you would have to actually cook a similar rom to your original rom to have the new stuff in there, and all you would have to do is get the official ruu for your device before you call back in, and you are good to go, thats what i do!

I think that in the future I'll try a cooked rom, I know that it increase the space, a lot!
The only thing that worried me is the following:
If I have to repair the device, I must put the original rom back, but if I can't do it (ex my device doesn't start correctly)?
I had a Nokia N73 brand with my operator Tim, I have unbrand it (knowing to lose the warranty), but some months ago I must bring it to a Nokia Center, to repair.
And they don't see nothing about the difference between the original Imei and the actual one (that are different because you must do that to update yur firmware)....

Some programs are hardcoded with paths in "\windows" directory - by moving stuffs around, things may break. Many programs that are expected to be in ROM fall in this class.
But then even if you are successful in "copying" it elsewhere, you won't be able to delete what's already in ROM. Overwriting it is just an masking action. ROM is ROM - follow me, Read Only Memory. Thus no memory is saved whatsoever.
Unless you flash it somehow.

If I copy the files to the memory card and then I create some shortcuts to these files, and replace them into the windows folder, do you think that they'll work or not??
When the pocket pc try to use them, It'll find the shortcut(and not the program itself) but this will direct the pocket pc to the program itself....

It happens when you change default language of Manila.
I've changed my phone's default Russian to English and had the same issue with sms sound.
There are files for English that I make for English.

If you have other current phone's language you may have to rename '0409' part in
filenames like 'newtextmsg.0409.html' to your locale code.

alharby, I'll try to explain it as simple as possible.
There are files in the attachment smsfix
deliveryreportsms_delivered.0409.html
deliveryreportsms_expired.0409.html
deliveryreportsms_failed.0409.html
newtextmsg.0409.html
newtextmsg_unread.0409.html
smssendfailed.0409.html
textmsgclass0.0409.html
You shoud rename them to match you locale id. I am not sure what it should be, try one of Arabic listed by Microsoft or look up in your \Windows\ folder for files with similar "double extentsion" - use the code like that.
For example, if your locale is Arabic - Saudi Arabia 0401, rename my files like the following:
deliveryreportsms_delivered.0401.html
deliveryreportsms_expired.0401.html
deliveryreportsms_failed.0401.html
newtextmsg.0401.html
newtextmsg_unread.0401.html
smssendfailed.0401.html
textmsgclass0.0401.html
and copy them to the \Windows\ folder, then soft-reset the phone.
My friend ericsonicsson
Thank you, I rename all the files as you written above. I am in Saudi Arabia. But when I try to trnsfer them to the phone I cannot find the windows folder. I tried but I fail.

Thank`s,
You must use Resco Explorer or Total Commander.
Same problem using Resco I was unable to modify this files......
What's the error message?
I opened Resco file explorer on the device and inside the windows folder the relevant files are missing, only if i search them i can see them, tried to change the name and after soft reset i see it wasn`t saved
Menu-Options-General-tab(Browser)
Remove all ticks and press "Done".
ok, now i see that i have the old file and the new ones, when i trying to delete the old ones i get the error: "cannot delete ,in rom memory"
