T-Mobile Rom.... Can't do anything else... Help

Since updating to the T-Mobile Rom for my XDA, nearly everythiung has gone wrong.
And when I tried to downgrade it.... Nothing happens.
I used to use a modified Program A to upload it to my phone but it continues to say that the USB devide gets remotely stopped. the only thing that I can think is that my phone is cancelling the upgrade/downgrade.
I have also tried using a copy of the XDATools program to try and:
Upload another Rom.
Copy the rom to an SD card so I can use the bootloader method.
Change the Bootloader so I can use the SD card method.
None of there are working.
Help :-(
I really want to go back to the ATT rom, it might have the annoying thing with the sound but at least it doesn't mess up as much, doesn't format my SD/MMC cards and lets the alarms actually work for me.
if i'm not wrong, it seems you upgraded using the TMO exe file which updated both ROM & RSU.
check ur boot loader version, if it's 5.22 or higher, i think you need to dowgrade to 5.15 ... use the exe file that comes with the XDAtools in the binaries directory .. its name is fixbootloader.exe .. it should update ur boot loader to 5.15 by which you can use XDAtools or the SD method.
Tried that. I do have XDA tools on my machine and used that program but my CDA still has the bootleader of 5.22
And both of my machines don't like trying to update my XDA :-(
This Rom is the most annoying one I have tried mainly becaise now I can't go back to even my original one that I backed from the XDA when I got it.
Am I stuck with this ROM?
omg, i think i am having the same problem. In my case, since ive installed the new rom, i cannot sync with activesync, well very slow anyway. Activesync on my pc stops responding for a while and suddenly it says connected. However when i then run the executable created by the kitchen, it just flashes a command line window for a second.
When I try XDA-toolz with an nbf file, i get the following message:
ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the rem
ote host.
error getting connectiontype

Please someone help, because i am really stuck now.
I checked, my bootloader is 5.14, so that shouldnt be the problem, perhaps i need to reinstall activesync, or perhaps lumpistefans kitchen cooks up bad roms. :?:
Nothing wrong with any kitchen ROMs so far ... when ActiveSynce can't recognize the XDA then it's either a PC problem which uninstall/reinstall will solve it ... or it's a wrong RSU update.
The best option so far in case it's a wrong RSU is to copy the proper RSU upgrade (4 files) to the SD card ... insert the SD card into the XDA and copy those 4 files to the \windows\startup directory ... then soft rest.
If the RSU flash works fine the ActiveSync will recognize the XDA again then you can preform a new ROM update
Note: RSU flashing is risky ... do this action on your own responsibility!!

I dont understand how i can have a wrong rsu? I didnt update it , as far as i know , i just updated the pda part. I only saw programme A.
Activesync does recognise my xda, because i can synchronize and explore my device. It does however take a long time before activesync sees the device after its connected. It also stops responding when its connecting, for a few minutes. I tried reinstalling activesync, this didnt help.

If there is something wrong with the RSU it will defeinitly slow the USB performance, not neceassary by wrong RSU flashing ... otherwise, check the pins of your cradle or the 22-pin connector of the XDA ... maybe one or more pins are bent or weared.
Tried upgrading the radiop stack and although the reception is slightly better... It still won't let me upload,
and its a new cable too :-(
Oh well looks like I am stuck with it.
Another way to upgrade firmware
Are there other ways to upgrade the bootloader from SD card from within the device or even to upgrade the OS from within the phone itself?
You know... as a last alternative?
You can use SD reader/writer from the PC using XDAtools ... once the .nbf file is on the SD card, use the normal SD flashing method.
Or you can use another XDA device from a friend to copy the file to your SD card
I am having the same problem. I have TMO 4.01.16 and since I installed I can't down/upgrade my ROM through EXE or XDA tools, it says my device isn't connected, but I can still connect with Active Sync and all that jazz
ha ha
I can fix all your problems!
How?
Finally got it to work, Although it was a little bit of effort to do so.
I went back to the kitchen and downloaded a NB1 cooked rom with the "B" Signature. Then I basically ran the TMobile Setup again...
Once the setup files were on my computer I overwrote their .NB1 file with the one I just cooked.
But.... I forgot to change the file for the Radio Stack.
The machine worked except for the phone and as something is still stopping me. *it was my first reboot* It wouldn't let me use a new radio stack.
Ended up that i kept on going in to the bootloader and eventually turned my radio off altoghether before trying an update.
Now I am back to a decent rom... (Cooked and modded version of the ATT Wireless rom) and I am almost really happy.
Now to figure out how to stop the annoying sounds starting off really low.
But til then... I'm 90% happy

Use the Sd Method flashing!!
Tmobile roms won't let you upgrade from the usb, here's the link and it will guide you how to flash your device from the SD good luck
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3274
The way I described.. I had to use the USB method.
my current bootloader (6.22) will not allow me to boot from an SD card.
And XDATools will not allow me to downgrade it... Yet
on ur PC at \xdatools\binaries run this command: pnewbootloader.exe bootloader_5_15.nb0
Wish it was that easy. The phone still appears to be locked in the rom so I can't update the Bootloader. I keep getting a message that says.
Unable to flash in to offset, cannotg disable bootloader write protect.

Unable to synchronize HD2 to activesync

I can't connect my hd2 to active sync, I get a message "Unable to connect..." yet another thread...I have tried everything, hard formated the phone, reinstalled windows xp, unchecked the "enable faster data sync", reinstalled active sync...nothing works....
Reading advicese all over the net have not helped me unfortunately. I don't know what to do anymore.
The problem is present after upgrading to stock rom 4,66 WWW East Europe. I am not sure if it the ROM to blame because I did one syncronization after installing the rom and it went well, but I don't know what could have happened not to be able to sync anymore.
I have installed these apps on device memory - bsb, cookie home tab and editor, easy expenses, resco explorer, resco photo manager, sms backup, spb time; on the storage card I have Core player, shazam, spb backup, spb wireless monitor, web video downloader.
I had all these apps on the 1,43 rom too with no problems, the only difference is I have installed them all to storage card on the 1,43 rom. Could this be a problem.
Could bsb tweaks give me problems? Any advice pleas, I do not know what to do anymore. It's not that I bother about synchronization with outlook, but I am not able to install hspl nor other roms anymore. Is it possible to install hspl and rom without activesync or is ther another sync program that do the sam job?
Thak you for advices.
u can instal rom from sd card, just check the stickies in rom development thread.
Try to go to bootloader and then connect your phone to pc, if it says usb on the screen, u can flash a rom. I would try to reflash the stock roms, either 1.48 or the new 1.66.
Btw, just a quick question, does the battery recharge when u connect to pc? It also could be damaged microUSB.
Anyway these are tha steps u should try:
1. try to flash a stock rom via bootloader
2. if that is not possible, flash a rom via sd card
a you tried delet hd2 from Active sync File list and sync it like new.
The battery charges when plugged in, the phone works in disk drive mode but not in active sync mode.
I think I have nothing to delete from active sync file list because active sync is freshly installed and I haven't managed to connect my hd2 not once in a number of attempts.
How to flash a stock rom via bootloader, can I do it if I can't connect the phone via active sync? Is it via sd card or?
no that are two different ways, just try to flash stock rom via sd card, u can find the steps in the stickies ine the rom development forum.
I used to have the same kind of problem; if you uninstall ActiveSync make sure you delete the folder on your pc as well. Then reinstall and it may work again. I don't think the phone is the problem.
I've got a slightly different problem: ActiveSync works fine but when I try to flash a ROM or install HSPL I get the same message as you do.
I blame
1) another device(driver) on USB.
2) my firewall / security software (ESET)
Tried for weeks now to come up with a solution to no avail. Even installed Sun VirtualBox but no success.
So this won't help you sorry. Only thing to add is you can flash radio and ROM via SD card, but you can't perform task 29 (mtty) or install HSPL that way.
It was not a pc problem but a phone problem, I have hard reset it once more and it has synchronized. The first time after hard reset I have restored pim backup file, seems there was something else apart pim...the second time after hard reset I have plugged the cable and it worked.
Now I have installed all the apps I had before and it syncronizes, but I installed all the apps on the sd card, apart the apps that has to be installed in phone memory, such as net framework. The only one I didn't install again is the DJCLeo WM6.5 Taskbar v4b bluewhite winlogo because on the 1,66 rom it has a bug of not displaying the volume icon and you have to change some registry records, could this be the cause...I don't know.
I am planning to upgade to Artemis rom soon and hope not to have such problems...by the way, if I instal hspl2, then Artmis rom, then install stock spl via hspl2, it does not affect my warranty?

What version of windows are you using on your PC? If you are using Windows Mobile Device Center (on Vista or Win7), make sure that in the settings, you still have a check mark on "allow usb connections".
And what if you connect the phone as an external drive? Does windows recognize it?

I have Windows 7, but i also had a HTC Touch pro2 before and that went good.
No succes when i manualy set the phone to harddrive...
I don't even get a popup screen on the phone to select a option...
Can someone please help me to tel me howto upgrade my phone with an other rom version.
I think i have to do a hspl too!!
Thanks all.
If you are not getting the option to choose how the phone should connect, have you checked the settings "usb to pc"? Maybe it is set to "not ask" when the phone is connected. I would check that before flashing a new rom.
I use Dutty's Holy Grail R2 ROM (it's an HD2 style rom for the HD) and I am happy with it. I also installed Cookie Monster's Home Tab which in my opinion is a "must have" as it improves the use of the home tab tremendously.
To install a new ROM, you don't have to use hspl if you don't want. I have always used uspl (newest version is uspl 2.5). You will need to install the old XP drivers on Win7 in order for it to work.
You can find information in the following links:
Using uspl
Tutorial on upgrading to 1.56 ROMs (very important; there you will also find video tutorials that will help you; info is for hspl or uspl)
HTC Drivers for XP - needed if you are flashing using Vista or Win7 (see post 1 and 3)
Dutty's Holy Grail R2 ROM (it's the one I use)
Other ROMs to choose from (HTCpedia.com) or see also ROM development section at XDA
Cookie Monster's Home Tab (great improvement to the home tab. You also need the CHT editor to fully customize things)
I hope that helps.
thx
Yes i changed that setting.. but the same result.
How do i install that uspl with only a memmory card option??
Thx
Hmm, I have never flashed via memory card. I think for that you do have to use hspl. But I am not sure, so maybe someone else can answer that.
Dutty's post in htcpedia.com says:
*Flashing Guide
SAFEST WAY TO FLASH YOUR ROM IS THROUGH STORAGE CARD METHOD:
* Copy BLACIMG.NBH into the root dir of your Storage Card.
* Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
* Turn off your device by using the Power Button.
* Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
* After that your device will have a white screen with text " Press the power button to continue upgrade or Press Volume down button to cancel upgrade".
But, like I said, if you are only using a memory card, I think you have to have first installed hspl on your phone. ???

[Q] HTC HD2 white screen.... can not load orginal rom please help!!!

Hi there i am hoping somebody can help i have found alot of threads explaining the issue with htc hd2 white screen error but have not found a solution to help i have tried for days to load stock roms original telstra roms tried hspl3 i can not connect through windows mobile with usb and have tried flashing original roms via 4g sd card with no luck am i missing something i have tried RUU_Leo_Telstra_WWE_1.49.841.1_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.11_Ship RUU_Leo_Telstra_WWE_1.72.841.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship i have tried to run through adminstrator i can not access the phone settings to turn on active sync so as far as i am aware i can not do anything through usb. i get an error msg when flashing via card and it terminates the update. Can anyone help with this issue i know there are many threads none have helped me.
Thankyou in advance
There are several possible reasons that the flashing process fails. Or, as it seems, the connection from your device to the PC - which might be a driver issue.
Normally, HD2 turns on ActiveSync if you want (you can select when a popup screen offers this) as soon as the device is connected to a PC through USB.
If the flashing process doesn´t run via SD card, there are also various possible reasons: Sometimes, cards bigger than 2GB don´t work, or your card is not formatted FAT32, or the naming of the ROM file is incorrect (should be leoimg.nbh). Or, your device is not a Telstra device after all?
Anyway, in order to help, there is more information from your side needed, otherwise, it´s a bit like searching a needle in a haystack.
Like tictac0566 said
Try 2gb sdcard - make sure its fat32 formated.
Make sure battery its not under 50%.
Most important Make sure the rom your are trying to flash its for your hd2 ( best way its to download from htc - web support with serial number ).
sd installation
i down loaded the rom. the oiginal rom is in exe extention. how do i used it to install from sd card. i gotthe rom from tmobile with serial number? where can i downlead the seperate rom file.. any link for .nbh file
The exe is actually an executable zip file. Rename it to. .zip from .exe and you can then open it with winzip or winrar or whatever, and inside you will find several files, one of which is ruu_signed.nbh which you extract and rename leoimg.nbh and flash with.
steps to flash through sd card.
i tried 3 stock roms even from tmobile web site. it gave me a radio error and terminate. what can i do it just wont install radio..???
