ppc 6700 unlocker - XV6700, PPC-6700 General

Is there a unlocker out for the PPC 6700, or is this phone unlocked already from Verizion, cant seem to find a unlocker for it

My understanding is that these CDMA carriers, Sprint and Verizon, can tell from the electronic serial numbers whether or not a phone was sold by them. If it wasn't, they simply refuse to activate it on their network (they will only allow it to roam on their network if it's activated by its native carrier). So unlocking is not relevant to these phones.

If you are referring to an unlocker for the bootloader, there is none needed.

Does anyone have info on what can be done with the "Alltel", Pocket PC, PPC6700, HTC Innovation PDA?
Since Alltel went kaput and was bought by Verizon, Verizon says unless you renewed your old Alltel plan under them, the phone is now useless.
Is that true or can it be connected to an existing Verizon account?

Unlocking Sprint Apache?!

can this be done.. i live in a country that doesn't have that phone and i was thinking of buying it from the US through Sprint.. but will i be able to unlock it and use it on my country?? does it support SIM or not?
Why not use a HTC-HERMES
You would be better off getting a HTC-HERMES based phone. most of the US phones that are EVDO-based can't be unlocked to my knowledge. The HTC TyTN 3G Phone is better every which way than the PPC6700. I've demo'ed both units and I really like the new Hermes over the 6700. Not to mention that sprint is the one of the *worse* US celluar companies out there

In a conversation with a verizon rep a few months ago, I learned that, while not advertised, it is technically possible to activate sprint phones on the verizon network. they would need the MSL (master subsidy lock) code and a second unlock code. The MSL is needed to program the phone with the phone number itself. The second code is used for deeper device programming so that it would work on other networks. keep in mind that the rep said that it is technically possible and could not point to actual instances where it had been done.
on a side note...I think that sprint uses only one frequency mode, while say...verizon uses two frequency modes (but the one sprint uses is the same one verizon uses for voice and data on evdo phones).
my understanding is that another carrier will have to add the ESN of the sprint phone to the ESN block of their phones, which is something that may be difficult to do...you would probably have to find some kind, knowledgeable rep to do this for you.
No Verizon
I'm using verizon wireless now. Before using verizon, Please read the following:
* Not only does Verizon limit the type of "unlimited" use, it imposes a quota on "unlimited" use, and terminates customers who exceed it. According to the Washington Post.[6], Broadband Reports[7], tech columnist Robert X. Cringely, many wireless industry "insider" news sites[8],[9], and countless blogs[10]; Verizon advertises "unlimited" broadand service but automatically terminates anyone using more than 5G/month (166M/day), no matter what they use the service for. This is a quota of about 15 minutes of actual data transmission time... for an "unlimited" use account. A PBS investigator monitored his bandwidth during normal use and discovered it to be 184M/day[11]. .

This is very tue of verizon. Does anyone know if this is gonna change anytime soon?
You can get the MSL (unlock) code from the Apache by using Bitpim. Check this post:

It worked for me on a Qwest phone. Sprint still wouldn't activate it for me though.
no SIM but you can now change ur ESN see here.

after my post above, I tried a few things...
here's what you would need to do :
change your esn (you will need your msl) to an esn that is in the block of the target carrier (hint, buy a cheap or give-a-way) change your esn, make sure that you calculate a checksum (there are instructions and programs all over the internet on how to change your esn). program your phone with your number: ##<your msl here># and type in your 10-digit phone number. don't worry about the dec or hex, just change the esn and program your number.

I think its going to get a little bit easier, check this out:

I'll start a new thread to make sure it gets seen
You CAN NOT use a CDMA phone on a GSM network. They are completely different signals. You can unlock a Sprint phone and force it onto Verizon. You can't force a Verizon phone onto Sprint, unless you know someone inside that doesn't mind losing their job.
Again, CDMA phones ONLY work on CDMA networks such as Verizon or Sprint.

unlocking of sprind diamond

hello, i am new to this forum.do not know whether there is already a thread running on this topis.has anybody been successful in unlocking the sprint version of HTC touch diamond?
There is no such thing as a locked CDMA phone. Any CDMA phone can be used on any CDMA carrier, as long as the carrier agrees to allow that phone on their network.
If you need to get a hold of the MSL/SPC code, google a program called GetSPC.

Htc 8525

Does anyone know if an unlocked 8525 will work on Verizons network? I've been using it on Alltel and Verizon bought them out now they want me to get a new phone. Sure hate to give this one up.
If the sim unlock has been run the there should be no reason why not...
Mind you I'm in Australia...
Cheers...
CDMA vs GSM
I went back and forth on this one. (and Welcome!!!!!)
Verizon here in the states is a CDMA (EVDO) system that doesn't use sim cards, GSM systems does. This relates to how your phone communicates on the network. Now willl a GSM phone work on a CDMA network, i think that it will. The SIM card in GSM phones supply the network with your PIM to access the network, it is tied entirely to the network not the phone. CDMA requires action from the carrier, and your access to the network is tied to phone not the network. You deactivate one phone first, then activate the second. You'll probably need to supply your IMEI to verizon and they'll load your access. Just a guess though, cause I've been with cingular/at&t since i carried around backpack sized mobile phones.
Does anyone know better?
As far as I know of, no. I don't believe it has a radio for the CDMA. Although you state you have used it on Alltel which I thought was CDMA...
What reason did they give for wanting you to get a new phone?

Any help on Unlocking My HD2????

How can I "unlock" my HD2? I plan to switch from Tmobile to Verizon.
And I love my Hd2, with the custom roms and the shell 3.5.5 my phone kicksass and I have no interest in the MotorolaX.
any help???
Pm me or email
[email protected]
HD2 (GSM) will not work on Verizon (CDMA).
Search on GSM unlock and you will find lots of web sites to unlock your device for a fee.
I have always used GSMPHONESOURCE
It is possible to do but complicated. First of all you need to get Verizon service on a BB8830, 9630, 9650. All of which are world edition phones which have gsm and cdma. You will then need to call Verizon and enable international roaming on your plan. Turn the blackberry to gsm mode only. Pull the battery out remove sim, then insert sim into HD2. Your phone will be working on the verizon network but roaming on the att and tmobile towers.
This method worked a year ago haven't tried since, but my friend is in advanced tech at verizon said it still works.
Got mine unlocked, but it's expensive
I had checked on e-bay for "HD2 unlock". A bunch of them offer to do this for around 10 to 11 $. Paid one of them and sent him the IMEI, but he could not find the unlock code in his database. He then refunded the money and recommended another seller (I think it was swiftunlock or similar). This guy charged about 24 $, but his unlock code worked, so now the phone can take and work with any sim.

How can I carrier unlock this phone? Trying to see if it works on TMO

So I have a Sprint G6 with me, no sprint account and trying to see how to carrier unlock this to use on TMO. I tried putting my sim card in registered to TMO since I read that since the merger you can apparently do this, but it didn't work.
What am I missing?
I just activated an old LG G6 I have yesterday on my Sprint account(trying to see if they'll offer me a free phone on this line,no bill credits.)
Anyways, when I go to Settings/General/System Updates there is a UICC Unlock tab. When I click it, it checks the network, then says "Your Device has been unlocked to support any inserted any inserted UICC." I may have unlocked it years ago. If yours was never unlocked when it was active on Sprint, then it probably CAN Not be unlocked unless activated on a Sprint account. Do you know anyone with Sprint that can temporarily activate the phone to Unlock it?
