Welcome to the "EnergyROM" thread !
This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch HD2 (Leo) device.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
Stability through private beta testing before public release
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
This firmware is compatible with all HD2 devices manufactured by HTC !
>> If you're an advanced user and know what you want already, jump directly to post #2 and download what build you'll like to install.
>> If you're a beginner, read on as there's a few things you need to do first.
You need to install a modified "SPL" on your device that allows installation of custom ROMs such as this one. It's called a "Hard SPL" and it's in of these stickies at the top of this forum (not this thread!).
If you have a T-Mobile USA branded device, then you don't need to flash a "radio". The ROM will work just fine with it. However, if you own an asian or european HD2 then you NEED to flash a .50 radio.
I RECOMMEND FLASHING RADIO 2.07.50 or 2.12.50 !
After you install the correct radio, go on to post #2 and download the ROM of your choice. There's always a choice of 2 (sometimes 3) builds for each "flavor" of the ROM. Looking at the download folders you'll see:
A 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner. This build uses the same stock system that came with your device. This is usually the fastest and most stable build, but it's also the least fancy
A 29022 Build that's the latest in Microsoft's development with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys, making it all very "finger friendly". These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. Most people choose this build... Why else would you install a custom ROM ?
After flashing the ROM, please read the FAQ in post 4, and maybe even the links to the individual modifications for each ROM in post 2 (such as "Cookie", "GTX" etc). It will help you get more familiar with which one and will greatly reduce the initial learning curve.
The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs every few days, as new builds come down the pipe.
I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization), or the built in "Settings Exporter" in the Tools folder. Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD AND FLASH ANY OF THESE ROMS, MAKE SURE YOUR RADIO VERSION IS AT LEAST 2.07.50 (not 51! any .50 version should be okay) , OR YOUR PHONE WILL NOT BOOTUP AFTER YOU FLASH !
IF YOU HAVE A TMOBILE USA DEVICE, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO FLASH A NEW RADIO, BUT 2.07.50 IS STILL RECOMMENDED TO WORK BEST WITH THIS ROM.
You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.

This post features all the Cookie Hometab based ROMs I make.
The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come in two versions, Cookie 1.8.5 and Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie" and "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)
You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.
The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and
quite a few more features and speed.
My own 'Energy' style
This is the best ROM version and the way Sense should have been designed by HTC
Offers the biggest customization ability out of all versions. You can add/remove bars or items on the homescreen, arrange items any way you like, plus lots of extra features
Three built in lockscreens. "HD Mini" style, Manila style or Windows style
3 pages of quicklinks with a configurable amount of shortcuts displayed
3 Homescreen layouts to choose from, as seen in the above screenshots, all completely customizable !

Dinik's "Anastasia"
This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.
Everything has been skinned, including Sense, the start menu items, the soft keyboard, parts of the dialer... etc
_LeCiel_'s ".sencity"
This ROM is themed with the .sencity theme released by _LeCiel_ who is a very talented artist ! Please support his work if possible.
.sencity is not %100 complete yet, but _LeCiel_ is working hard on finishing his work to completely skin the entire ROM.
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
DJC & Bobsbbq's "Touch Of Glass"
This ROM series is skinned with DJC's "Touch of Glass" theme throughout Sense and the Start Menu
More will be skinned as DJC continues his work on the theme in the future...
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
ElCondor's "GTX"
This ROM has the white GTX theme applied
Android styled taskbar, matching dialer, matching start menu background and Action screen background
GTX is a total reskin of the operating system, so expect a very different (white) experience

'Standard' ROMs that have no addons installed on the homescreen. Stock Sense 2.5 !
'Energy'
This series retains the stock functionality of the Sense UI. The files have been compressed by "CFC" compression. making the UI lighter and faster
This ROM still retains my theme and style, plus all the regular apps you find in my ROMs.
There are no homescreen addon-ons in this ROM. The best speed and the most stock functionality.
'Reference'
This ROM is mostly for people that want a close to stock ROM with the stock visual style. It's also perfect for doing your own customizations.
A lot of the cooked in apps are removed in this ROM, the Start menu back to the stock 3 row style
Sense and everything else is back to the default HTC green.
ROMs mostly created for enthusiasts...
MaxSense UI (android style homescreen)
This is a complete rewrite of the Sense homescreen, by maxycy.
It features a 3 screen, Android style, homescreen with widgets! The widgets can be placed ANYWHERE on the three screens.
75 Quicklink accessible on all tabs
You should really visit the original thread for this mod shown on the next line to see all the features!
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <.
Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)
This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)
You can use it to install alternate homescreen interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, etc
Very low memory footprint and good battery life, but very simple and lacks a lot of features that you would otherwise have available in Sense...

ROM features at a glance:
Very fast startup time. You won't find any startup wizards in this ROM. You'll be up and running in a couple minutes after flashing the ROM and ready to go. No need to spend time to set everything up.
XDA_UC is built in. It will import your custom XML and REG files from your storage card after first boot.
My own Settings Exporter application is found in the Tools folder. Use it to export all your settings after you customize the device. When a new ROM comes down the line, use it to import everything and save time.
Everything is setup to use the phone right after flashing. Sounds, notifications, all options, etc
The HTC Messaging client is removed, leaving the windows built SMS client for much faster texting, but still able to use a nicely skinned Sense text messaging app with "iphone style" messaging bubbles.

Q: Twitter Login Problems April 2011 ROMS:
A1: Backup your Twitter Registry entries and Cache folder before flashing newest ROM's. Without it you will not be able to login.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAccountManager]
"TwitterAccount"
"TwitterPassword"
"TwitterToken"
"TwitterTokenSecret"
"TwitterUsername"
\Temp\TwitEng
Using the Energy Exporter you will only get the keys but empty so you want to do it manualy through startmenu > tools > Registry Editor > Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC] > Hold down on HTCAccountManager and select Export > Choose location on Storage Card for later import on newest ROM (Keep safe dont share - includes Facebook and Youtube data)
Q: How do i Flash a ROM/Radio/Splash Screen/Task 29?
A1: This is a complete self-explanatory tutorial with videos.
A2: This is a simple-yet-useful guide. "Thanks to prateekgujral"
Q: I Can't Extract/Unzip the ROM after download (Need .7z extension).
A: Download the latest WinRAR release here.
Q: Can this ROM be used on a US T-Mobile HD2 with 1GB ROM?
A: As mentioned in the very first Post, yes it can.
Q: What are the Installed Apps in ROM XYZ? "Thanks to codeconqueror"
A: All ROM releases have the same app list included, except for Reference. More reading here.
Q: Are there any Mirrors to download from?
A: For current releases, the answer is No, due to the Chef's request. However, if you need to older releases, check the signatures of nrfitchett4 and Scabes24.
Q: Which is the Best Radio to use with EnergyROM?
A: There is no "Best" Radio, they seem to be location-dependent. Some have better reception but poor life and vice versa. Try out several versions until you find one that suits you best. Just make sure it is a 50 and not a 51 version (Example: 2.xx.50.xx is good but 2.xx.51.xx is not).
Q: I just want to have the Radio with extra RAM and best performance.
A: Same answer as the one above.
Q: I have the error "Unable to launch Sense" .. What shall I do?
A1: First possible solution: Read this.
A2: Second possible solution: Read this.
A3: Third possible solution: Delete the folder: "\Storage Card\Application Data", and the file "Manilafull.xml" from \Windows folder and soft reset the device.
A4: Fourth possible solution: The reason of sense crash might be either corrupted CABs, or a combination between CABs that causes a conflict. Therefore, you need to take a closer look at what you're installing, try them one by one until you figure out the CAB/conflict problem source.
Q: My ActiveSync isn't working and I get some weird errors (ex: 0x86000C2A, 0x86000C2B, 0x00.......).
A1: Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC -> Untick the "Enable Faster Data Synchronization" checkbox.
A2: Make sure you're typing your data correctly, specially the server name. Alot of us (including myself) have been there before.
A3: You may need to terminate the relationship between your phone & your PC, remove your settings from ActiveSync, hard reset, then reestablish the connection again.
A4: Microsoft mentioned that some errors might be due to a recent faulty entry (contact, email attachment, appointment, ... etc). So, try to sync one item only (e.g., contacts). If it worked, you need to recheck your recently-added items & eliminate the faulty one.
A5: This registry seemed to work with a couple of ActiveSync errors.
Code:
[COLOR=darkgreen][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\[/COLOR][COLOR=darkgreen]Policies[/COLOR][COLOR=darkgreen]][/COLOR]
[COLOR=darkgreen]"0000100c"=dword:00000040[/COLOR]
- Also, Read here and here for further problems.
Q: How do I Automatically configure my Email(s) settings after every flash/hard reset?
A1: Easily create email settings via simple GUI using Makisu, then place the XML file(s) in your XDA_UC folder.
A2: Use some ready templates in this post. "Thanks to nrfitchett4"
Q: How do I Create a CAB file with my Email(s) settings? "Thanks to netvpn7"
A: Here you go.
Q: What are the New Start Menu Options?
A: Read here.
Q: How can I Add custom mp3/wma files to Alarm tones?
A: Workaround here.
Q: I Can't find the "Input" option in the "Settings -> Personal" entry?
A: Delete this registry, and you're good to go.
Q: I Can't find the "Phone" option in the "Settings -> Personal" entry?
A: Solution here. "Thanks to EdinM30"
Q: How do I Control Network Selection "Manual/Automatic"? "Thanks to **[bimmer]**"
A: Use the REG entry from this post.
Q: After a reset my Phone hangs on white screen while loading.
A: This is caused by a non compatible Radio. Upgrade to a 2.xx.50.xx radio version, which also unlocks the 576MB RAM. "Thanks to swiss420"

A: A workaround is here.
Q: How do I Disable AutoSync for Clock?
A: Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Time Zones -> Untick the "Automatic change time zone and clock" checkbox.
Q: I get Errors "SIM Card Not Ready/Missing" when I try to use my device, such as replying SMS? "Thanks to pongskie"
A: This probably occurs due to installing many apps that might cause a conflict. Before using Hard Reset as a solution, try to remove the apps you installed & check your SIM after every uninstallation to see if it's working properly again (Might require a couple of soft resets within the apps removing process though).
Q: How do I Enable SMS Sent Pop-up Notification? "Thanks to sumflipnol"
A:
Code:
[COLOR=darkgreen]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\NoSntMsg[/COLOR] = [COLOR=red]0[/COLOR] (default is 1)
[COLOR=darkgreen]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\NoSntMsg[/COLOR] = [COLOR=red]0[/COLOR] (default is 1)

[COLOR=black]S[/COLOR]tops the sense music player playing ringtone files from \My Documents\My Ringtones\
Q: Call waiting notifications don't work/vibrate instead of the peep tone!
A: I had an active vibration on waiting notifications, default value was pw3v, and solved it with the below.
Code:
[COLOR=darkgreen][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\CallWaiting\Script][/COLOR]
Change the value to [COLOR=red]pw3pw3p[/COLOR]
p = Play ringtone
w = Wait number of seconds
v = Vibrate
Q: My phone can't Read or Write Arabic/Chinese/Hebrew ... etc?
A: After installing both "Your regularly-used multilingual support pack (ex: Arabic)" and "NRGZ28 Tahoma Font Restore" CABs (from the Addons page or from my signature), use a registry editor. "Thanks to pp18"
Code:
[COLOR=darkgreen][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI][/COLOR]
Add a DWORD value [COLOR=red]FontLinkMethods[/COLOR] and set it to [COLOR=red]1[/COLOR]
Then reset.
Q: When I'm In-call, the touch screen/buttons don't work.
A: Start -> Tools -> BsB Tweaks -> General -> Disable both "Screen Sensitivity" and "Tap Time", then reset.

Q: How to manually Modify Action Screen Values?
A: There are 10 items labeled APP_0 to APP_10. It looks like this controls the action screen, but I am not certain of this & didn't test it (TRY IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!). "Thanks to dotnetguyaz & MAD_Matt"
Code:
[COLOR=darkgreen][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\BioTouch\ActionScreen\APP_#\Path[/COLOR][COLOR=darkgreen]][/COLOR]
[COLOR=darkgreen]Change the value of the path to the path you want the button to be for.[/COLOR]
Q: My Battery drains [email protected]#%^&* fast!!
A: Check this very awesome post for useful tips. "Thanks to Scabes24"
Q: Is it possible to Cook the XYZ app in the upcoming release?
A: NRGZ28 cooks his ROMs the way he likes it, and apps are usually being judged from different points of view (Speed, Space, Stability ... etc). If you want a way to automatically install your app, you may use XDA_UC. However, you might PM him with your app suggestion.
Q: After flashing CHT ROM, the Network operator name is displayed as Energy.
A: Start -> Tools -> CHTEditor -> Miscellaneous settings -> Other settings (all the way at the bottom) -> Custom Operator text. If you want your network name in there remove the default text so the box is empty.
Q: I'm having Random freezes while using my phone.
A1: This is a so called "White Screen of Death". What could help here is a reflash of the Radio. Just be careful to use a compatible Radio Version.
A2: Please delete "all data you have not created" from the SD card before flashing... This is because sometimes there are programs that leave registry traces on the SD and they could interfere when you re-install the apps.
A3: If you are thinking of a Hard Reset - Remove the SD card and then Hard Reset. Let it complete the whole process, and when it reaches the home screen, (give it a few more seconds) DO NOTHING.. Simply turn off the phone. Now insert the SD card and boot.
A4: As recommended earlier by NRGZ28, disable both CHT lockscreen and the second hand.
Q: The ROM doesn’t contain the original HTC Messaging client?
A: This can be downloaded from the Addons page.
Q: My Taskbar clock is not aligned in the home screen. Mostly on the GTX ROM. "Thanks to prateekgujral"
A: Go to Settings -> System -> Regional settings -> Time -> Select "hh:mm:ss:tt".
If the above format is not present, then try choosing another region, and see if its there. Confirmed: It is there in "English - NZ".
Q: My music tab loads slowly/gets stuck when the screen is locked or turned off
A1: This is a CHT Lockscreen issue. Disable CHT Lockscreen and use the traditional Windows Mobile screen lock from the CHT editor.
Q: The new NRGZ Chat bubble SMS conversation doesn't work, when I install the ROM, I get the classic SMS compose view.
A: Scroll to "Messaging" in sense, click all messages button. From there you can find the bubble style.
Q: When will the Next Update of ROM XYZ be released?
A: There is no point in asking this question. The updates come when they come, as there is no schedule.
Q: What happens if i ask a Repetitive question?
A: You might either get flamed, or find your question being ignored over and over again, depends on the person responding.

XDA_UC FAQ
The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !
The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.
Some of the extra features are:
It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:
It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.
As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it. Allot of People download and use these ROM's. Remember most people dont post when everything runs they only post if something does not.

Amazing. Beats me too. I have long time ago decided NRGZ needs less time of sleep than Donald Trump (who reportedly sleeps 3 hours/day)
Anyway, this new thread really made my day. Now I am really running out of reasons why I shouldn't surprise myself with a new phone for Christmas
Thank you NRGZ.

can't wait much longer..

Step-by-step guide on flashing the HP iPaq 600
########################################################################################################
Q: Manila right softkey is named "programs", but by pressing on it launches camera
It is a known bug related to M2DC (M2D Config). Exactly after flashing all should be correct, but if you open M2DC, change something in it and accidentally press to softkey tab and then press ok (without modifing softkeys) M2DC automatically redefine softkeys to their default values Phone and Camera. So this bug is related to M2DC. Because i am not a developer of this program, i cant fix this.
Solution:
by default softkeys are set to
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila2D\Home]
"SK1"="Contacts"
"SK1Cmd"="\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Office\\Contacts.lnk"
"SK2"="Programs"
"SK2Cmd"="\\Windows\\folderview.exe"
Q: I have a delay (2-5 sec) after I answer my phone
It is problem of all winmobile devices.
Solution:
Use default winmobile dialer
Install this cab or
Change key to zero
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
Q: When i create New Folder in WM6.5 StartMenu icon is ugly.
You can change folder picture. See code below, it is made for my two folders: Multimedia and Office. Copy attached folder icon to Windows dir and edit registry by analogy with code below.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Multimedia]
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_Multimedia.png"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Office]
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_Office.png"
Q: When my pda battery left about 35%, the pda starts to scream "Low Battery Voltage detected" and then after 10 seconds the pda will turn off.
It is related to bad calibration of your battery or your battery is bad (old)
Solution:
Buy a new battery.
Before you buy new battery, try this solution
Discharge your battery to 0% with video. Then without turning it on charge to 100%. Should happen recalibration of battery, if it is not so old.
If dont work this, so buy a new one.
Q: How can i see default windows keyboard, Block Recognizer and Letter Recognizer
They are hidden by default
To make them visible use small utility SIP Manager
Q: Weather on Home page dont work
It uses your GPS location. Updates only with WiFi. Of course, GPS signal dont work in houses, be closer to window or the best result be out of house.
One more solution with Mortscript
Q: My town is not in the weather list. Can i add more cities to manila weather?
Manila2D WeatherCities Editor v.1.2.1
Q: I dont see Missed Calls on Home tab
With new Manila v2.0 it is impossible to show them on home tab, even with M2DC.
Q: I'd like to use outlook as default calendar and default Task application.
Copy two files to Windows dir. From Home page will be access to default calendar. Find shortcut of tasks.lnk and copy it to StartMenu. You will have access to default tasks.
Q: ActiveSync is always running
Create Fake ActiveSync sever
Q: How can i watch streaming live TV?
Install Streaming Media
Q: D-PAD: How to use it?
It works like this: hold down the end call button for 1 second, and the red LED will light up to let you know it's working. When it's on, the number pad keys have the following functions:
1:Home 2: Up 3: Page up
4: Left 5: Enter 6: Right
7: End 8: Down 9: Page Down
0: Tab
To switch back, just hold down the end call key again.
Also, you can change the backlight by holding down the Windows key and a number:
win + 7: 1st level of screen brightness, with the keyboard backlight off. Good for using indoors in average lighting.
win + 8: 2nd level of screen brightness, also with keyboard backlight off. Good for bright rooms and outdoors.
win + 9: Brightest level (use when in direct sunlight)
win + 0: Lowest brightness level, keyboard backlight on. Good for dark rooms and nighttime.
Q: HTC Keyboard Customization (Not for builds with EzInput 2.1)
Language packs and XT9
[ABC as Default] - Set ABC as default IME for hardware and software keyboards.
[T9 as Default] - Set T9 as default IME for hardware and software keyboards
NB!
Not all languages work correctly, some languages dont have hardware support (only numbers from hardware keyboard)
To view language you should manually add your language code to the registry.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9]
"AvailableLanguages"="0109[COLOR="Red"],0119,01OC[/COLOR]"
Choose language by pressing "*" sign on keyboard (Not from Personal -> Input Menu)
User Customization FAQ
1) Why XDA_UC folder is needed?
What the XDA UC service does, is silently install (or not so silently if needed by User), .cab, .xdas, .xml, .reg, .mscr. This happens either at first or second boot
2) How can i create automatically Email account?

hey i just do quick try on your rom.
-odd to me when the customization engine finish and i press reset, the screen go blank (not off just black) and seem to hang there, i punch the pinhole reset and seem works fine
-your pagepool seem to be 4mb(based on pagepool_by_wlodixon)
-and the dpad program doesn't seem to work
-you use the 80mb flash.dio (based on original flash.dio?) instead of the 76.9mb that other rom cooker use so you have a lot of unnecessary empty space at the end of file but I guess you will optimize later
Thank for your feedback, it is my first rom

I use kitchen by captaintrip, it always generates the same size of flash.dio file (80 mb). If you use something different or know how to decrese size of ROM, share your knowledge
you can change the TEMPLATE.ROM in ROM folder to a smaller one, I used pdalcan rom as template which is smaller, make sure you replace the xip with yours though. But I guess it probably doesn't matter much other than the flash file is smaller

Had same sh*t , used laptop Card reader , failed , used external USB port card reader - worked (took me serveral hourse to figure wtf) i thougt i messed up my phone
So if you're writing a file to a SD or whatever and pulling it straight out this mite be the case (windows didint finish writing to the card thus the "delayed write" failed)
Thaqnks for the Rom will try this on my 614c some time later on
Thanks for this sharing. I thought it was my problem, checked 5 times and it always flashed OK. So not my ROM Problem. Check guys your card readers.
WM 6.1 21042 advice
I tried to install WM 6.1 21042 BETA 0.2 and it works fine.
BUT I have small advice - start menu font and context menu font size is too large.
Can you change size of it?
Just for example; ROM WM6.1 OS 5.2.20270 rev 1.2 FIX with iolite manila v22 (link is in sergiorus signature) has nice font size and exactly what I need and I am sure other guys will be satisfied

Any help, please. Thanks. (Backup & Restore)

hi everyone!
I have one concern which has troubled me for a while now.
I used to update Dutty's Rom.
And his work is quite impressive.
He changes/updates a new version every 10-20 days.
I usually install 20-30 applications after I reflash new ROM.(CABs)
My concern is how can I install/configure the softwares in a quick way every time after I flash the new ROM.
Is there any free software can install all the CAB files under specific folder at one time?
Or is there any backup tools can backup all the software/configuration I installed at the first time, so I can restore them after I flash the new rom.
How do you guys solve the problem?
Please share your ways and thoughts.
Thanks.
Regards,
William.C

hi thank you for your reply.
I like ur blog, 300->370 well done!
I hope i can do this as well.
For the contacts, pic I use Oggsync 4.19.
auto-sync the contacts and calendar with your google account(two ways sync)(wifi/gprs).
I use resco backup to backup / restore my apps, but I have the same question, I have dutty's 2.1 and am put off upgrading because of having to re-install each time. is there any easy way?
too bad Dutty's latest ROMs are not UC compatible
so what you want is SASHIMI, a copy here, or here, or google
only problem is that the author, bengalih, had some disagreements/beef/falling out with XDA community
what a shame
his new home seems to be here,
and here are some easy to follow Tutorials
I use Pim Backup and/or Sprite Backup.
But, to avoid interfere with new ROMs, usually install all programs in SD.
So, backing up folder: \windows\Start Menu\ is enough to restore all links to programs later... really fast
But for who wants a real AutoInstaller, I agree with the other post, use SASHIMI
Thanks for those replies, Sashimi looks really useful, but it looks like HD owners need to wait for V8 to appear.

ozmoran, yes you are right but I use onkolog and it's not UC compatible , and many of them are not.
With this software it's easy to install and configure and have a lot more than UC, like copy files, make shortcut, register wifi, etc. Awsome software... try to configure right now
So... no more worries if is UC or not

[ROM][29-Oct] WM6.5 Rom 23016 WWE cruiserrr [Lite and XDA builds]

430 downloads of the diff versions uploaded so far !!!!!
Hi, I finally decided myself to learn how to cook. Thanks to swtos and pcarvalho for their roms and specially thanks to gullum for sharing his wm6.5 kitchen. Since he published it, the polaris section has seen quite a few new cookers. Thanks also to Bluemetalaxe for the Icons and a general thanks to all the xda contributors (TMC, 6gf8's PowerRadio, XDA_UC, bl05, ervius's kitchen and tools...). It is being a lot of fun so far !
It is may first ROM ever, I recommend the ROM to anybody using wm6 or even wm6.1, people with slow devices, people with big thumbs and people with lots of programs. How does it compare to other ROMs? No Manilla oriented, it is rather focused on how to keep the machine clean and fast while having efficient navigation to lots of programs (many programs can be installed silently without leaving duplicate files into windows folder and many other programs do not need to be reinstalled after a hard reset if kept in the SD. They only need shortcuts and sometimes a few reg keys / files to be restored).
Versions available: LITE / XDA
How is the Xda & OpenGL/Freeware ROM?:
Storage: 133,79 Free 121,47 / Program: 100,83 Free 50,91
Latest developments: More and more shortcuts replaced/added, HardLeys reconfigured, Backlight fixed, Power Radio and Quick GPS background as theme. Update Recommended. Help wanted from other cookers/testers please see the post "To do list/help wanted"
Excluded: Manila, Calculator, FM Radio, Office Mobile, OneNote, Sample Music, Google Maps, HTC Task Manager
Included: Net CF 3.7, BT Jetware Extension, Showcase, HGPS Switch, EZInput, Album, XDA_UC, Power Radio, Most of HTC Mega, BL05, PIM BackUP 2.8, PHN NotePad, Cyberon VSD, FDC Soft Task Manager, ACR, Second Today, Opera, YouTube, Mortscripts (Screen Rotation), cruiserrr customization (IE to SD, RSS to SD, Folders to SD, etc)
Links To SD (install the programs to sd\program files first, then flash the rom): Office Mobile, Google Maps, PocketScreen, XNView,
Links To SD (Commercial software): IGO, SKTools (and icons to diff sk tools), SK Tracker, SK smgr, Resco Explorer
Check here known bugs.
It is an ongoing development so each day the ROM will have more icons converted and more shortcuts to SD, etc. Links to commercial software will be kept in a separate folder "SD Icons" for the time being. I plan to do a mortscript that allows to customize which icons to install or to do a mirror structure of folders or to integrate in normal folders only in a "full" version.
How is the Lite ROM?: I would say it is fast!
Storage: 143,00 Free 136,00 / Program: 100,83 Free 53,32
Latest developments: Same as XDA Rom
It is like the XDA ROM but does not include Cyberon Voice Speed Dial, Sun Java, Opera, Audio Booster, Audio Manager, RSS Hub, Streaming Media, TouchFlo, Voice Recorder, HyperGPS, Power Radio, Second Today, PIM BackUP, PHM NotePad. Please report any links included by mistake.
Cabs post
Common to both:
1. No radio included. 1.59.XX.XX is what I use / No initial splash integrated (can use this one), flash without fare / Non bootable from SD, needs pc to flash it / Usual disclaimers apply.
2. Folders and shortcuts rearranged, using basically Bluemetalaxe Icons
3. No additional footprint: registry keys not used are deleted, icons replace the original ones, etc. (ongoing work to clean garbage left by the flash process in \windows like provxml files, duplicate shortcuts, etc).
4. After flashing XDA_UC will start and install any tsk/cab/reg/xml etc silently. Please look in the forum for instructions on how to use. After first boot, the network customization will be launched and showcase will be fully configured ("X" at the top-right corner).
5. Mortscript will be used but only "static" mortscript so not to penalize performance/battery: no scripts doing this and that every x time. Only scripts based on system notifications or processes.
If somebody wants a naked version I will be happy to remove any programs you ask me to whenever a cab installation is available.
If somebody wants a standard or full version, ... well.... do not ask me to do it better than pcarvalho or kostas or gullum, in fact this rom has no development, is mostly customization and benefits from their work and others with the new builds porting and the kitchen release and the software integration.
Beta testing only (see above for stable versions): Lite + Many shortcuts
I will appreciate suggestions, feedback, help, etc.
Hope you like it !
Tweaks
- Initial splash sound removed (not the beeps)
- Pictures stored in SD card
- IE stores information in SD Card
- RSS Hub reads / saves info to SD Card
- Cleartype and ct rotation activated
- GPS Camera activated
Cab's links / location
Install to SD/Program Files:
Office 2007 into SD Card
Bugs / Known Issues
Common:
- Does not contain mainsplash (I will explain / give link on how to change to whatever you want) so most of you will continue seing the pcarvalho initial picture (kostas rom I think does not include the initial splash either)
- Does not load from SD, requires ActiveSync connecion + bootloader
- Some icons still to be replaced
- Usual Garbage in c\windows: proxxml and duplicate png/lnk files.
- Pending to include XDA calculator.
- wrong build id shown on deviceinfo
Lite version:
- Pending to remove voice recorder icon or to point it to sd.
To Do List
Here I include the issues I want help for:
-sync with cell tower at startup
-rapidshare/megaupload storage
-no popup when 100% battery charged. It is a pain if you use IGO
-merge initial splash
-clean files used in the installation (provxml, lnk, png, etc.)
-include cabs in the installation
-force soft reset at the end
-split all htc packages not needed in the naked rom (I only want to keep what is needed for album)
- .bat file to upgrade rom version and provxml, depending on a parameter captured in a text file (does it exist?)
Help wanted: I would like to do the job in a COM3/4/5 build rather than in 23016 since the future brings us there ... but 23016 works like a charm. If anybody can help porting to 23060 or 23071 I would appreciate
Screenshots please. Thanks for your work. If u need a beta tester tell me.
How did you activate you GPS Camera? By modifying Registry code? Could you please teach mehow to do that?

I want to try 2305X or 23071 but I still do not know how to port the build...
Feedback please...
Any feedback?

Hi, you are going faster than I do!!!!! I am at home this week with the flu so I have been able to go faster than normally I will do. My roms are "SD oriented" which means you will have a set of minimum icons (eg. office, igo and google maps). Neither of these programs is installed in the lite rom, only the icons. Today I will publish a naked one (beta) that I did with the help of phnikola. It does not include titanium and exinput and any htc enhancements. It includes showcase and all "my stuff". It is beta, I think the lite version is only 5 megs more (mostly keyboard and album) and runs even faster and the scroll is much better so far.
For your post, I think the best for you would be to download gullum kitchen and follow the short directions given in his first post. In 5 minutes you could be flashing your first rom and in 5 more minutes you could removed all unnecessary stuff to have your naked rom. and it is fun also to have your own rom.

M8, you would do as all a favour if you'd post in
- normal color (usually black)
- the same color (usually black) in every posting, not each single post in another color...
- without permanently CAPITALS use
- not permanently bold
Many, many thanks in advance.

- welcome screen: only tap screen
- status icons bt,wifi,3g,radio (red = on, blue = off) This is something I have not seen in any ROM so far !!
- shortcuts for: backlight cycle, soft reset, screen off, screen rotate and bootloader (so you can flash with battery lower than 50%)
- Phone profiles (icon in wallpaper)
- action (new mail, new mms, new sms, new contact picture, etc), front camera and calendar views shortcuts
- mortscript, wm internet time, cyberon vsd, netcf37, jetware bt extension, rss hub, pocket rar, notepad, modaco nodata, fdcsoft task mgr, second today and today agenda

- htc taskmanager replaced by showcase
- autoshortcuts to certain sd programs, if they are there (shortcuts to sd programs that need not be reinstalled)

- darkblue wm7-ish, like my previous rom, mostly using bluemetalaxe icons, - custom splash, quickgps, htc data connection & livven bottom bar
- lockscreen
- IME_EzInput_Western=2.1
- none of these included: manila, com manager, opera, ms voice command, office, bing, myphone, mstags, htc calculator, google maps, etc. (I install them with xda_uc)
- very few htc apps (neither mega nor leo)
Known bugs:
- two blips when welcome screen pops up (instead of one)
- Some icons still to be fixed and profiles to be finetuned
- If you have problems with the ROM, check pcarvalho's or alexander-vogt threads and flash original wm6.1 ROM before.
Release notes:
Version 23569 2010-06-21:

Beta release
Nice i'm gonna test it right now
I'm flashing right now!
White screen after flash and boot - wtf!
sorry for that ! never happened to me. Did you tap in the screen in the middle anyway? Please, anybody can confirm if it works or not? It if does not work I will remove the link, and do some more testing.
Edit: I flashed back to wm6.1 and then again my rom and it loads smoothly. Pcarvalho, alexander.voigt and others have detailed instructions in their roms and they recommend to flash original 6.1 first and hard reset after first flash.
works just fine - nice touches like second home
i'd rather have ie removed for opera though
@reiteravi, thanks for the confirmation and the comment.
You can place cabs in xda_uc and they will be installed automatically after flashing. This way I avoid double space (files doubled in windows and program folder) or overloading windows folder.
gettin rid of the ie in the first place is what i need
anyway i'm in nanding android now so i'll check this rom or any newer later
thanks
interesting rom...try if i have time
For pdaviet´s kitchen look here: but i think you must loggin
http://www.pdaviet.net/showthread.php?73864-KITCHEN-ROM-WM6-5-CHO-POLARIS-VỚI-MANILA-2-0
New version released, since it is the same sys it replaces the previous one. Updated on first post.
What's new:
Standard wm6.5.3 Lockscreen added
Some icons fixed
Icons for sd programs zipped, extracted out of windows directory (to \cruiserrr) and deleted if not used.
If Resco Explorer exists in Storage Card, file explorer link is moved automatically to the Tools folder.
Profiles Module stable: still testing the different profiles. When I publish the profiles final version you will not have to flash but simply copy the file to windows.
Downloading and testing.
Thank you for this lite rom
Nice
Hi,
Nice ROM have him tested for a few days, when it was a Dutch ROM had he stayed on it.
gr,
good job, thanks

Deblogger fixed: disable logging for diff modules through registry and if existing, delete deblogger folder
Registry logger for installed files: mortscript, provxml and reg files
Any feedback appreciated. Thanks to all who tried it and specially to those that gave thanks or gave feedback.
Works just fine, but calendar is spanish ?
If possible, I'm looking for a danish version also.
Great job anyway.
Hi, I will check the calendar language.
You should be able to config it yourself in the meanwhile. It is a today freeware plugin called Today Agenda, in a second today screen. You have an icon in my settings to configure plugins to be shown in SecondToday (you can add more plugins like windows default plugins or install new ones) Please, use the search function.
Regarding the plugin of the calendar, as I said it is called Today Agenda and should be configurable in a number of languages. I do not know if your language is supported but english should be.
I take note and will document more in next release and add othe languages if they are not in the ROM.
Regarding versions of the ROM in other languages, it is currently not in my agenda, sorry for that.
First I need to complete the ROM adding more support to other sd programs, adding backup buttons for the main apps (like speed dial), document my proposed sd xda_uc user customization, optimize folders for sd usage... upgrade to newer builds... test for true 6.5 kernel... optimize the xip... and then I will try to produce versions in main european languages.... That is defenetely a lot of work and time...
hengelo, jan_sorensen, listen ! why do not you try cooking one in your language !! We have kitchens in this forum that are ready to cook in the different languages and would be great to have new roms and cookers for all to enjoy !!
Open a thread or post in the polaris chef thread and I will be glad to help you (whenever I have the knowledge) throughout the process ! (and I suspect I would not be the only one willing to help
... among many others, there is a german guy around the forum that never lets an answered question last too long ...
i cant download any new rom for my touch cruise p3650
plz help me
it will be difficult to help you if you do not explain what happens to you
excellent job but...
i managed to install it in my polaris and everything about it is so amazing. memory is almost unused! and major languages are available as well .. i also managed to install the following smoothly:-
---------------------------------------
Arabic language as well n it's compatible
Manila 2.5 with the weather thingy
gfxboost
Garmin XT
Skype
NoniView
YouTube
Advanced Config
Midomi
Call Firewall
n many more
----------------------------------------
However, either with or without these apps.. this version seems to consume lots of time just to boot up (about 4 minutes) n it freezes so badly to the extent that sometimes i have to hard reset.. and it freezes again while booting up system!
i've been working on finding a way to fix this problem but i cant seem to find any.
for the same of others, i hope i'm the only once facing this problem
thanks for the feedback ! If you do not mind I will pm you to get more details on the freezes.
I am aware of the long booting time (I am working on it) but I did not have freeezes here. The ROM has not arabic support at all, I do not know if it influences. Please, if you can explain further would be great if you could send me a pm or post here.

Soft De-Brand Procedure

Soft De-Branding of Toshiba TG01
===================================================================
Required:
- Windows desktop based Registry Editor such as CERegEdit
- Replacement Welcome and Shutdown screen image files (below)
Optional:
- Windows Mobile File Explorer such as Resco Explorer 2010
- Microsoft .net Framework 3.5 View attachment NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
- Microsoft .net Config Tool View attachment netcfcfg.cab
Additional OPTIONAL Step
- ROM Reflash as described in this thread
- this ONLY results in removal of the Orange splash screen; the rest of the process described below is still needed.
- This also introduces a significantly greater level of risk and should be avoided unless you know what you are doing and take full responsibilty for any unintended consequences.
- Please read thoroughly ! Especially the caveats posted by @cedesmith as author of the TGTool.
====================================================================
Part 1 - Carry out Hard Reset (Master Clear)
Either:
1.1 Power off; Press Power button while at the same time press and hold Camera AND Volume Up. When green light comes on / vibrates, release Power. Then follow on screen prompts to execute HR.
OR:
1.2 Go Start|Settings|System then tap Master Clear. Enter code '1234' to confirm.
1.3 Allow device to initiate cold boot. White TOSHIBA appears on black background, followed by Orange Windows screen and message
"Tap the screen to set up.... " DO NOT TAP !
====================================================================
Part 2 - Remove unwanted .cab Files prior to startup
Start CeRegEdit (NB. if you are running Vista / Win 7 you will need to be logged in as an Administrator)
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\AutoCabInstall
- DELETE all Values in this section that you do not want to retain.
- If you have a licenced copy of Core Player, will also wish to remove this so you can install the later version now available separately.
====================================================================
WARNING:
- From here on you are making significant Registry changes; however if things don't end up working as desired, this IS fully recoverable, BUT will entail doing a fresh Hard Reset.
- If you are not happy with these detailed edits, suggest skip to Step 4.
- All changes CAN also be made by individually editing the multitude of Settings (eg. Network, email, etc.) directly on the TG01.
Part 3 - Clean up Registry
DELETE Complete Keys:- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\Orange Internet
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\Orange MMS

====================================================================
Part 4 - Boot into Windows
NOW you can tap the screen and proceed to the usual Align Screen stage.
HINT - when carrying out screen alignment, make your taps very precise and GENTLE. This will maximise both pointing accuracy AND sensitivity.
====================================================================
Part 5 - Remove unwanted Shortcuts from Start Menu
Open your TG01 in Windows or File Explorer:
- Go to ..\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
DELETE Orange Maps.lnk (NB. if in File Explorer on the mobile you won't be able to see the .lnk extension)
(You can also remove shortcuts to any other built-in apps which you don't want, eg. calculator, if replacing with a more swept-up version)
====================================================================
Part 6 - Replace Orange Welcome and Shutdown screens with generic Windows ones:
- Copy the following two files FIRST to your device or uSD Card; then across to ..\Windows directory.
- Ignore the warning messages about overwriting.
- NB. This will NOT work using either Copy|Paste from the desktop via AS/WMDC OR the built-in File Explorer.
- It WILL work if you install a suitable 3rd party file explorer such as Resco Explorer 2010. This also incorporates a very useful on-board Registry Editor and is highly recommended.

Part 7 - Add a Soft Power Off Shortcut (exactly the same function as the hardware button)
- Unzip and copy the following shortcut (.lnk file) to ..\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
View attachment PowerOffHint.zip
====================================================================
Part 8 - Test the shortcut by going Start | Power Off (Icon with Red circle and White cross).
- Press the hardware Power button to reboot
- On reboot, you should be greeted by the Windows start screen and as fully soft de-branded a device as is currently possible.
====================================================================
Part 9 - Supplementary improvements:
Add Microsoft .net Mobile Framework 3.5 and .net Config Manager
- Install View attachment NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
- Install View attachment netcfcfg.cab
Then open .Net Configuration (Icon in Start Menu) and check you have:
.Net Compact Framework versions installed:
3.5.7283.0
2.0.7045.0 (ROM)
Go to Device Policy tab and select 'Run unconfigured applications with the following'
3.5.7283 and then tap 'Apply'; Close
====================================================================
Part 10 - Strongly Recommended:
Install a suitable on-device File Explorer / Registry Editor (eg. Resco Explorer 2010)
Install a suitable Backup app (eg. Sprite Backup, Resco Backup or SPB Backup)
Now make a 'Master' Backup so you can easily get back to a 'clean' build after your next Hard Reset without having to repeat the above process !
Edit: Experience has shown that while a Master Backup is still really good for certain aspects (eg. all your own Operator Settings which WILL get restored to the Registry following an HR, unfortunately because the above process also deletes lots of Keys/Values, these will stay in place post-HR. Basically restoring the Master Backup will overwrite any values, but it doesn't delete anything.

Acknowledgements:
- To all the various sources across XDA and other Forums - Thank You for a vast mine of information which I have tapped into to pull together here along with my own researches.
Request:
- I have tested the above procedures on a TG01, both to create the information and then walk through and follow it...
- There are however almost certain to be some 'bugs' which will be encountered, also depending on individuals' configurations, ISPs, etc.
- So, it will be greatly appreciated if you find a bug to please PM me with the details and I will then update this post accordingly.
Enjoy....

Thanks for info kevin but i cant seem to get past part 2
Part 2 - Remove unwanted .cab Files prior to startup
Start CeRegEdit
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\AutoCabInstall
- DELETE all Values in this section that you do not want to retain.
- If you have a licenced copy of Core Player, will also wish to remove this so you can install the later version now available separately.

When i open up ceregedit it doesnt detect my tg01 so i cant get into the reg files. Is there something special i need to do to get ceregedit to detect my phone - im connected via usb.
Thank you very much for the information, it is very detailed explanation indeed, good job!!!
many thanks Kevin!
only one question left - at the end you suggest to make a master backup so that we can later restore the phone with the above settings...how to make a back up?
great thread!
nice post shame i dont have my tg01 anymore would have loved to have got rid of orange branding
Kevin,
this is a brilliant how-too
& i thought i was 'brutal' with last bedrand... you've taken way more off than i even knew was there...
i just swapped to o2 PAYG & these settings (even without a hard reset) really helped strip out the orange (perhaps they should rename to brown) MMS / internet etc
FYI (to the board ~ kevin'll know this already)
a LOT of these settings can be removed without a hard reset, but it would be better to start from a fresh install if possible
but (if like me) you already did the auto cab install remove, then you can still delete the settings mentioned above.
Thanks again Kevin.
This just leaves the orange boot up screen... i'm getting no where with that... like people have said.. needs a unlocked ROM methinks... can't even find the file on the phone

if on vista/win7 - you must run ceregedit as a administrator
the phone must have made a active sync connection with windows (NOT just show up in win explorer) or ceregedit wont detect it.
cheers

You're welcome I've edited links to each of the 3 principle Backup solutions own websites into the first post. I'd say they are broadly similar, but each tend to have their own enthusiasts. Suggest a quick trawl on XDA and other forums for feedback and then 'try before you buy' where a trial version is available to check out.

I don't think the Orange boot screen is on the phone - I think is hard coded in the ROM and written into the equivalent of the Bootstrap Flash chip on a PC - so is the same as the Asus or whoever's logo splash screen you get when you start up your desktop (assuming POST isn't set to display).
Thanks, Kevin, for your work: nice post, very clear & instructive...
Although I thought it will remove the ''funny" stripes(aka toshiba menu) too... Is it possible?Which way?
What are they reffering to:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\CommSetupath 32
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\CommSetupath 33
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\CommSetupath 35
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\CommSetupath 36
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\CommSetupath 37
NB. Do NOT delete Path Path 31 and Path 34
because I didn't delete those.
Thx again!

These are two different things. The Keys you identified above relate to the Root Certificates. I've shown in more detail in the attached picture:
View attachment 298079
We are deleting all the Orange specific Certificates which I don't think will now be required but keeping the two generic ones marked in red.
The Toshiba Stripes menu system is controlled from the Registry but a different part - this wasn't included in the above process, but it will be possible to disable in a similar manner. The configuration of each Stripe is included in a set of Keys here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Toshiba\RegistrySettings\MainMenu
There may be other Keys which also contain references, but I havn't searched for those as yet. In the meantime, the Toshiba Stripes UI can simply be 'switched off' by deselecting in the Today Settings just like the Windows Titanium UI.
what about the orange welcome screen?
windows start screen is only replaced

Please see Post#12 above - it appears hard coded in the ROM NAND and so far we are unable to find any way of replacing - until such time as there is a viable independent ROM which a number of dedicated people are working hard to achieve.
Nice detailed instruction.
Thanks a lot.
My question is:
Since I used already this metod from your post #71 , would I be able to do "master clear"
and start it all ower again.
Thanks again.

There is nothing to stop you doing a Hard Reset (Master Clear) and starting the whole process from square one. However if you have already part set up your device, you can do most of the changes retrospectively as well, but you probably won't end up with as thorough a 'spring clean'.
The ideal is to start with a HR, go through step by step until happy and then make a Master Backup so that when you do a future HR you can quickly get right back to a known clean state.
If you have already installed various Apps, worthwhile saving the Settings for those (many have a built-in function) as again will make it easy to restore their configuration 'just so' following a clean reinstall.
Hope that helps ....
Thanks.
I'i do it all over.
wceload.exe
Kevin
I found on a Russian site another debranding procedure:
they recommend after HR, when the calibration screen appears, to connect to PC and place in Windows directory using Active sync an emply file called wceload.exe
they claim that none of the operator autocabs will be installed this way.
I am a complete beginner in WM but I would appreciate your opinion on this procedure, even theoretical
many thanks
