Q: Manila right softkey is named "programs", but by pressing on it launches camera
It is a known bug related to M2DC (M2D Config). Exactly after flashing all should be correct, but if you open M2DC, change something in it and accidentally press to softkey tab and then press ok (without modifing softkeys) M2DC automatically redefine softkeys to their default values Phone and Camera. So this bug is related to M2DC. Because i am not a developer of this program, i cant fix this.

Q: When my pda battery left about 35%, the pda starts to scream "Low Battery Voltage detected" and then after 10 seconds the pda will turn off.
It is related to bad calibration of your battery or your battery is bad (old)
Solution:
Buy a new battery.
Before you buy new battery, try this solution
Discharge your battery to 0% with video. Then without turning it on charge to 100%. Should happen recalibration of battery, if it is not so old.
If dont work this, so buy a new one.

-odd to me when the customization engine finish and i press reset, the screen go blank (not off just black) and seem to hang there, i punch the pinhole reset and seem works fine
-your pagepool seem to be 4mb(based on pagepool_by_wlodixon)
-and the dpad program doesn't seem to work
-you use the 80mb flash.dio (based on original flash.dio?) instead of the 76.9mb that other rom cooker use so you have a lot of unnecessary empty space at the end of file but I guess you will optimize later

I use kitchen by captaintrip, it always generates the same size of flash.dio file (80 mb). If you use something different or know how to decrese size of ROM, share your knowledge
you can change the TEMPLATE.ROM in ROM folder to a smaller one, I used pdalcan rom as template which is smaller, make sure you replace the xip with yours though. But I guess it probably doesn't matter much other than the flash file is smaller

Had same sh*t , used laptop Card reader , failed , used external USB port card reader - worked (took me serveral hourse to figure wtf) i thougt i messed up my phone
So if you're writing a file to a SD or whatever and pulling it straight out this mite be the case (windows didint finish writing to the card thus the "delayed write" failed)
Thaqnks for the Rom will try this on my 614c some time later on

BUT I have small advice - start menu font and context menu font size is too large.
Can you change size of it?
Just for example; ROM WM6.1 OS 5.2.20270 rev 1.2 FIX with iolite manila v22 (link is in sergiorus signature) has nice font size and exactly what I need and I am sure other guys will be satisfied

It is HTC Enlarge Start Menu program, in next update i will add a small control panel applet to enable/disable this feature.

When the application starts, it will search the Windows folder for available skins. With this we can prevent applying a skin that doesn't exist.

There's no need to terminate the Comm Manager process, as the application will do it for you.

It supports 8 or 10 functions. When the user selects this style (skin), a popup window will appear to let him/her choose between 8 or 10 buttons.

If the user wrongly selects the number of buttons to use, just select the skin once again and the popup will appear again.

I know that, but with advance config you can apply any skin even if you don't have the necessary files for it to work, causing a black screen comm manager.
Lets just say I wanted to provide a SAFE stand alone application to make Comm Manager functions and style selection easier.

The program does not include any skin. You have to add the necessary skin files you want to use. After you do that, if all is ok, the program will let you choose the skin.
I'm very impressed, it's quite beautiful. I was pissed because the 8/10 button Comm Manager's black color clashed with the rest of my theme. Now, it looks great Thanks!

It´s not what most of you want to hear, but this ROM freezes.
I had those freezes with the 4.79 full rom, too.
The system with what I flashed was Windows XP.
I had installed the recommended radio version 1.59.42.16.
I´m now trying if it´s active sync which causes the freezing.
Edit:
I did a hardreset and only connected my Orbit 2 to active sync (and I entered my PIN) and it freezes.
I think I´ll try to flash from another computer.
I will update here if there are news.
Edit 2:
Today, I´m going to reflash the original o2 rom, after that I´ll flash Olios and the radio rom again but all from another computer where I am able to deactivate all unneeded processes.
Maybe a hint, if you flash the rom, first get your phone connected to active sync and disconnect, check if it freezes when you turn off your screen.
If not, you probably have no problems.
Flashing Olio´s rom now.
First, I flashed o2 rom, then HTC splash screen, then radio to 1.59.46.12.
Testing if active sync makes the device freeze in a few minutes.

Flashed rom, did a hardreset and connected device to active sync as a guest, it seems to be working.
Testing today.
Did NOT work. Performing a hardreset now and testing again.

Did a hardreset, connected to AS but did NOT uncheck option "erweiterte Netzwerkfunktionen aktivieren" (don´t know what´s it in english, sorry, it´s options - connections - USB to PC)
Now, it seems to be working since 5 minutes.
I´ll update later.
It runs up to now. Probably, it´s the option "erweiterte Netzwerkfunktionen aktivieren" that causes the freezing.

Hmm. I use 4.79 Full Rom too. Flashed with Windows7RC 64bit. Absolute no problems/freezes. In my job I use ActiveSync with WinXP64bit for contacts and calender, no e-mail. No problems. Everything works perfect.

You know, this problem seem to appear in all the latest of my ROMs so
far, always it seems to be related to ActiveSync and/or the function
Erweiterte Netzwerkfunktionen. But it gets more and more mystical,
at least now, where this ROM may look not too different from the former
ones, but indeed it is completely new. I use new SYS, new XIP and
even new OEM (drivers). The only things left from former versions
is the two 1.60 drivers (pcem and ddi.dll) which are needed to achieve
the 100MB RAM. But I cannot imagine that these are the culprits,
because lots of cooks like pcarvalho or epimazzo use them also.
Moreover it is VERY interesting that this problem seems to affect only
some people, by far not all. I did not have it once on my test devices.
So I cannot help you with this, other than giving you some hints.

I plan to cook them, but as I don't use M2D myself this is something
I will do whenever it is some really lazy spare time so don't
expect it/them within the next few days. Maybe in some weeks or so.
I know that most of you prefer M2D full ROM as I can easily see at
the download count of the ROM versions. But it is a lot more difficult
to perfectly cook a ROM with lots of apps and enhancements than
a light ROM like the one which is out right now. I will take a look at it.

This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch HD2 (Leo) device.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
Stability through private beta testing before public release
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
This firmware is compatible with all HD2 devices manufactured by HTC !

You need to install a modified "SPL" on your device that allows installation of custom ROMs such as this one. It's called a "Hard SPL" and it's in of these stickies at the top of this forum (not this thread!).
If you have a T-Mobile USA branded device, then you don't need to flash a "radio". The ROM will work just fine with it. However, if you own an asian or european HD2 then you NEED to flash a .50 radio.
I RECOMMEND FLASHING RADIO 2.07.50 or 2.12.50 !
After you install the correct radio, go on to post #2 and download the ROM of your choice. There's always a choice of 2 (sometimes 3) builds for each "flavor" of the ROM. Looking at the download folders you'll see:
A 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner. This build uses the same stock system that came with your device. This is usually the fastest and most stable build, but it's also the least fancy
A 29022 Build that's the latest in Microsoft's development with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys, making it all very "finger friendly". These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. Most people choose this build... Why else would you install a custom ROM ?
After flashing the ROM, please read the FAQ in post 4, and maybe even the links to the individual modifications for each ROM in post 2 (such as "Cookie", "GTX" etc). It will help you get more familiar with which one and will greatly reduce the initial learning curve.
The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs every few days, as new builds come down the pipe.
I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization), or the built in "Settings Exporter" in the Tools folder. Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD AND FLASH ANY OF THESE ROMS, MAKE SURE YOUR RADIO VERSION IS AT LEAST 2.07.50 (not 51! any .50 version should be okay) , OR YOUR PHONE WILL NOT BOOTUP AFTER YOU FLASH !
IF YOU HAVE A TMOBILE USA DEVICE, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO FLASH A NEW RADIO, BUT 2.07.50 IS STILL RECOMMENDED TO WORK BEST WITH THIS ROM.

The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come in two versions, Cookie 1.8.5 and Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie" and "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)
You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.
The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and
quite a few more features and speed.

This is the best ROM version and the way Sense should have been designed by HTC
Offers the biggest customization ability out of all versions. You can add/remove bars or items on the homescreen, arrange items any way you like, plus lots of extra features

3 pages of quicklinks with a configurable amount of shortcuts displayed
3 Homescreen layouts to choose from, as seen in the above screenshots, all completely customizable !

This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.

This ROM is mostly for people that want a close to stock ROM with the stock visual style. It's also perfect for doing your own customizations.
A lot of the cooked in apps are removed in this ROM, the Start menu back to the stock 3 row style
Sense and everything else is back to the default HTC green.

Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)
This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)
You can use it to install alternate homescreen interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, etc
Very low memory footprint and good battery life, but very simple and lacks a lot of features that you would otherwise have available in Sense...

ROM features at a glance:
Very fast startup time. You won't find any startup wizards in this ROM. You'll be up and running in a couple minutes after flashing the ROM and ready to go. No need to spend time to set everything up.
XDA_UC is built in. It will import your custom XML and REG files from your storage card after first boot.
My own Settings Exporter application is found in the Tools folder. Use it to export all your settings after you customize the device. When a new ROM comes down the line, use it to import everything and save time.
Everything is setup to use the phone right after flashing. Sounds, notifications, all options, etc
The HTC Messaging client is removed, leaving the windows built SMS client for much faster texting, but still able to use a nicely skinned Sense text messaging app with "iphone style" messaging bubbles.

Q: Which is the Best Radio to use with EnergyROM?
A: There is no "Best" Radio, they seem to be location-dependent. Some have better reception but poor life and vice versa. Try out several versions until you find one that suits you best. Just make sure it is a 50 and not a 51 version (Example: 2.xx.50.xx is good but 2.xx.51.xx is not).
Q: I just want to have the Radio with extra RAM and best performance.
A: Same answer as the one above.
Q: I have the error "Unable to launch Sense" .. What shall I do?
A1: First possible solution: Read this.
A2: Second possible solution: Read this.
A3: Third possible solution: Delete the folder: "\Storage Card\Application Data", and the file "Manilafull.xml" from \Windows folder and soft reset the device.
A4: Fourth possible solution: The reason of sense crash might be either corrupted CABs, or a combination between CABs that causes a conflict. Therefore, you need to take a closer look at what you're installing, try them one by one until you figure out the CAB/conflict problem source.
Q: My ActiveSync isn't working and I get some weird errors (ex: 0x86000C2A, 0x86000C2B, 0x00.......).
A1: Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC -> Untick the "Enable Faster Data Synchronization" checkbox.
A2: Make sure you're typing your data correctly, specially the server name. Alot of us (including myself) have been there before.
A3: You may need to terminate the relationship between your phone & your PC, remove your settings from ActiveSync, hard reset, then reestablish the connection again.
A4: Microsoft mentioned that some errors might be due to a recent faulty entry (contact, email attachment, appointment, ... etc). So, try to sync one item only (e.g., contacts). If it worked, you need to recheck your recently-added items & eliminate the faulty one.
A5: This registry seemed to work with a couple of ActiveSync errors.

A: NRGZ28 cooks his ROMs the way he likes it, and apps are usually being judged from different points of view (Speed, Space, Stability ... etc). If you want a way to automatically install your app, you may use XDA_UC. However, you might PM him with your app suggestion.
Q: After flashing CHT ROM, the Network operator name is displayed as Energy.
A: Start -> Tools -> CHTEditor -> Miscellaneous settings -> Other settings (all the way at the bottom) -> Custom Operator text. If you want your network name in there remove the default text so the box is empty.
Q: I'm having Random freezes while using my phone.
A1: This is a so called "White Screen of Death". What could help here is a reflash of the Radio. Just be careful to use a compatible Radio Version.
A2: Please delete "all data you have not created" from the SD card before flashing... This is because sometimes there are programs that leave registry traces on the SD and they could interfere when you re-install the apps.
A3: If you are thinking of a Hard Reset - Remove the SD card and then Hard Reset. Let it complete the whole process, and when it reaches the home screen, (give it a few more seconds) DO NOTHING.. Simply turn off the phone. Now insert the SD card and boot.
A4: As recommended earlier by NRGZ28, disable both CHT lockscreen and the second hand.
Q: The ROM doesn’t contain the original HTC Messaging client?
A: This can be downloaded from the Addons page.

A: Go to Settings -> System -> Regional settings -> Time -> Select "hh:mm:ss:tt".
If the above format is not present, then try choosing another region, and see if its there. Confirmed: It is there in "English - NZ".
Q: My music tab loads slowly/gets stuck when the screen is locked or turned off
A1: This is a CHT Lockscreen issue. Disable CHT Lockscreen and use the traditional Windows Mobile screen lock from the CHT editor.
Q: The new NRGZ Chat bubble SMS conversation doesn't work, when I install the ROM, I get the classic SMS compose view.
A: Scroll to "Messaging" in sense, click all messages button. From there you can find the bubble style.
Q: When will the Next Update of ROM XYZ be released?
A: There is no point in asking this question. The updates come when they come, as there is no schedule.
Q: What happens if i ask a Repetitive question?
A: You might either get flamed, or find your question being ignored over and over again, depends on the person responding.

XDA_UC FAQ
The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !
The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.
Some of the extra features are:
It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:
It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.
As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it. Allot of People download and use these ROM's. Remember most people dont post when everything runs they only post if something does not.

This is my first public ROM. Finally I decided to share my ROM after so many attempts in cooking!
I customized the ROM for stability and for daily use. I added many 3rd party apps, tweaks that I use frequently and also to take advantage of faster access when cooked into ROM rather than cab-installed. Since I also use this phone for business use, features like Exchange, Direct Push and Encryption, are being tested thoroughly to ensure they all are working properly with other 3rd party tweaks and mods like MaxManila as cab installation would not work for some of them.
I also tweak the ROM heavily for user-friendly and finger-friendly. Tiny details like auto-rotation, volume control, finger gestures are all customized together in the ROM.

1. Manila Landscape mode
Manila Landscape is enabled by default, but it's not stable and may cause blackscreen with Taskbar, and the phone does not respond to finger touch anymore.
To disable Landscape,

2. Phone Orientation Gesture
Try to flip your phone upside down, it will go to Suspend Mode.

3. Hold Start button, End button Gestures
Fully exploting Ameba features, I have configured hold Start button for Task Manager
tap End button will minimize the app; hold End button will close (force close) the app
You can modify the settings via Start -> Tools -> Ameba Settings
4. Resco Explorer can be uninstalled.
Resco Explorer is auto-installed during ROM installation. You may uninstall from Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs, if you don't like it, or register to keep it.
5. Dialer number pad may be disappeared when Send button is pressedin Landscape mode.
try to rotate Landscape / Portrait at the phone dialer screen. It should be able to get back. If not, force rotate by holding the Send key button.
6. Change Max Manila Wallpaper
You can toggle wallpaper mode from Max Manila settings. B "default background", P "Panorama", F "bg4all", H "only Home screen, all other tabs are B mode's".
For "B" mode, use Menu -> Home Wallpaper to change from default Black background to your favourite background.
For "P", "F" and "H" mode, you can resize your favorite background wallpaper image to 1024x768, and save as filename MaxBackground.jpg. Copy it to \Windows\ . Refresh Manila.
7. Recommended method to flash MaesusLeo ROM
MTTY method. It simply works. It really cleans up the ROM. Here is how I do:
Press-hold Volume down + Power on the phone, attach USB port. Wait until "USB" text appear at bootloader screen.
run MTTY.exe. Wait quite a while until a config window popup. Select USB port. Enter.
type "set 14 0". Enter.
type "task 29". Enter.
type "task 8". Enter.
While the phone turns black to restart, press-hold Volume Down to boot to the SPL screen again.
Run LeoRUUcustom.exe from PC and install the ROM.

8. Digital Compass with "Set Destination"
T-Mobile ROMs (OEM 2.01 and above) updated Digital Compass package without "Set Destination" feature. Please use this cab from 1.66 if you want this feature: Link
9. Improving Battery Consumption
Try install this cab. Implemented in the ROM from V1.7 and above. For V1.6 and below, please install this cab.
10. Start Menu 3 columns?

I hope this post can stay blank forever but unfortunately there are bug(s) discovered and I think is appropriate to let everyone know, and hope that some of you can shed some lights on providing resolutions or fix suggestions.
1. MarketPlace closed itself whenever trying to get connected. [root caused. To be fixed in 1.5]
For version 1.4 and before, change the Registry of the following

2. Blackscreen of death X-(
- The whole screen goes black and only Taskbar appear at the top. Hard buttons light lid when hard buttons are pressed, but the phone does not respond to anything. USB port / ActiveSync still works - using MyMobiler can force the phone to soft reset; can browse phone's contents from PC.
- I've no idea how to reproduce it but it only seems to appear after Direct Push Exchange + device encryption has enabled. So far no other users reported to have this problem. Only me?!
- after XIP mod, it should improve a lot, but not 100%. So maybe the root cause is not Device Encryption.
- Anyone using my ROM, or other ROMs that have the same issue, please post in the thread, I hope we can discuss more.

Settings in home screen that start when slide down to clock- what did they mean? B - black, H- home, right? But P, F,??? I'm very happy with this settings bar but i don't understand everything, so give me link - how to's? Changing the wallpapers in sense?, how it works?
Except landscape menu in all tabs seem everything else works just fine.

The Home Screen additional settings are Max Manila, courtesy of Maxycy. Please refer to his forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489
I have to cook MaxManila in because once encryption is enabled, MaxManila does not work anymore. Most users (who doesn't need encryption) would be able to enjoy MaxManila via cab installation.
If you liked Manila in Landscape mode, I suggest to enable "R" rotation in MaxManila settings, and double-check the Registry is set properly. This will allow Music and Photo tabs fullscreen mode to work when rotate anti-clockwise, and all other tabs support landscape when rotate clockwise.
For the dialer page landscape mode issue, hmm.. I have set the Send Key button as "Rotate Screen". Please try holding the Send Key button to force rotate the screen back to Portrait again, hopefully this will get the dialer numbers up.
Please let me know if this works.

Yeah, I agree with you. Thanks for the feedback.
I didn't spend too much time on searching for a complete set of icons. So I just put them as is. But I'll definitely try to improve on this area.

I am moving around between Malaysia n Singapore. Rapidshare sometimes works in Msia but doesn't work in Sg. Hotfile depends on luck.

sorry for that ! never happened to me. Did you tap in the screen in the middle anyway? Please, anybody can confirm if it works or not? It if does not work I will remove the link, and do some more testing.
Edit: I flashed back to wm6.1 and then again my rom and it loads smoothly. Pcarvalho, alexander.voigt and others have detailed instructions in their roms and they recommend to flash original 6.1 first and hard reset after first flash.

You can place cabs in xda_uc and they will be installed automatically after flashing. This way I avoid double space (files doubled in windows and program folder) or overloading windows folder.
gettin rid of the ie in the first place is what i need

Hi, I will check the calendar language.
You should be able to config it yourself in the meanwhile. It is a today freeware plugin called Today Agenda, in a second today screen. You have an icon in my settings to configure plugins to be shown in SecondToday (you can add more plugins like windows default plugins or install new ones) Please, use the search function.
Regarding the plugin of the calendar, as I said it is called Today Agenda and should be configurable in a number of languages. I do not know if your language is supported but english should be.
I take note and will document more in next release and add othe languages if they are not in the ROM.
Regarding versions of the ROM in other languages, it is currently not in my agenda, sorry for that.
First I need to complete the ROM adding more support to other sd programs, adding backup buttons for the main apps (like speed dial), document my proposed sd xda_uc user customization, optimize folders for sd usage... upgrade to newer builds... test for true 6.5 kernel... optimize the xip... and then I will try to produce versions in main european languages.... That is defenetely a lot of work and time...
hengelo, jan_sorensen, listen ! why do not you try cooking one in your language !! We have kitchens in this forum that are ready to cook in the different languages and would be great to have new roms and cookers for all to enjoy !!

i managed to install it in my polaris and everything about it is so amazing. memory is almost unused! and major languages are available as well .. i also managed to install the following smoothly:-

However, either with or without these apps.. this version seems to consume lots of time just to boot up (about 4 minutes) n it freezes so badly to the extent that sometimes i have to hard reset.. and it freezes again while booting up system!
i've been working on finding a way to fix this problem but i cant seem to find any.
for the same of others, i hope i'm the only once facing this problem

I am aware of the long booting time (I am working on it) but I did not have freeezes here. The ROM has not arabic support at all, I do not know if it influences. Please, if you can explain further would be great if you could send me a pm or post here.
