Phone application (radio?) not responding!

Hi,
On my XDAII (1.72) I sometimes experience a not responding phone/SMS application or radio stack.
People trying to call me are instantly redirected to the voicemail, and if I try to make eiter a call or send a text message, respectively the phone application is stalling or the SMS 'Send' button stays in the 'pressed' state.
Soft-resetting the phone or toggling the 'turn off radio' function re-establishes the radio.
Does anyone knows of a solution?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated and possibly rewarded with a 6-pack Heineken beer
weird, mines just done the same thing. I sent an sms and nothing. I was then taken to the phone screen and it said something like invalid sim something.
I'm wondering if the sim card is not locked in place. I was fiddling around with mine yesterday and maybe forgot to lock the sim card in place.
Just a thought but maybe worth checking
what radio version do you have ? I recently have the problem that when people call me, the ringtone goes for about 2 seconds, then restarts, etc.
Meanwhile I can do nothing ( green button don't work) . When the caller hangs up my phone returns to the normal state.
I use radio 1.18. Thinking of downgrading to 1.17 which people say is more stable.

The SIM is firmly locked into place
ah.....
Hello folks,
I have the same problem now for a week... It's driving me crazy... At
some point in time during the night or the day my Qtek2020 gets weird.
The result is that people trying to call me can't connect but to viocemail,
and I can't receive SMS. The only way I can see that I am having this
problem is that whenever I try to send a SMS I get a message "your SMS
cannot be sent", and if I try to make a call, the phone seems to dial out
normally the first second, but then the DIAL-button (which is color-less)
becomes green again...
Please, if someone knows what's wrong or if someone had the same
problem and solved without having to default the whole thing, please
let me know what is the solution.. It is really annoying, so I now have
to randomly reset my phone throughout the day.
PS: my battery is now on 4% so I have to look for my charger, and
after that I can supply with info about radio-version etc. I am running
WM2003 by the way, and I've had no problems like this before, this
unit has been working fine until now. I guess it's a sw-bug? And I
am also wondering if this problem occurs whenever I pass a place
with low signal.. hmm, it's so annoying..
Thanks for any help!
Fred
I've been having problems similar to the OP for 2-3 weeks now (found this thread in a search before posting). It's damned annoying, as it means you can't really trust your phone - am I meant to reset every morning, or more frequently? It seems an intermittent problem, in so far as I've been receiving and making calls as normal, and then you someone asks 'did you get my text?'. Gritting teeth, you call the phone from a landline to find that calls are going straight to voicemail. After a soft reset all missing texts are received immediately, and calls can again be received.
When in this state other PDA functions seem to work as normal. However, I suspect that the power display is "suspended" too. On performing a soft reset after experiencing this problem today, I immediately got "your battery is extremely low", whereas before the reset I recall it was around 50% (vBar image). As others have stated, one clue that not all is well is that sent texts do not get a "Message sent" confirmation.
I've been racking my brains as to what's changed recently on my PDA. For family reasons I've been making a lot more calls than usual, but I also added TomTom Navigator 5 a couple of months ago, and so have started intermittently using BT. But I don't use Sat Nav that frequently, and this problem seems more prevalent.
I'm conscious that I don't have latest and greatest ROM, etc, but am vary about attempting upgrades without strong reasons.
Has anyone seen and solved this issue?
Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the sim card? After a while dust and general wear and tear can mess them up. Also as it's obviously(?) a phone problem it might be beneficial to call your service provider for a new sim card.
That's what I had to do last week. Wish you the best anyway.
It can't have anything to with the sim card as I'm having this problem with a brand new sim card.

Calls Don't Complete

I recently got a Universal and used Buzz in order to unlock it. Now the wierd thing is the sim works, it registers on the network but when i want to make any call it says Dialing and then instead of connecting and giving me a dialing ringtone it gives "Call Ended 00:00" instead.
The confusing thing is that sometimes randomly it works.. but thats in 1 out of every 30 or 50 tries. *I also randomly recieve messages days after they r sent*
Please help, I don't want to carry two phones around just because of this glitch!
Thank You

Have you ever READ the Wiki?
Try to get your solution there
Good luck
I actualy have several times and to be honest the only thing I'm not certain of is whether the device is bricked.. but that wouldn't really make sense since everything works perfectly apart from that one small flaw..
Still rather Clueless

Problem with microphone????

Hi!
I have tried to find the answer, but unfortunatelly there is no one.
I have a problem with my HD. The problem is that microphone stops working during the call. I can hear other person, but they cannot hear me. It happens randomly, after a random time of duration of a call.
It was repaired (mainboard was replaced), and everything was working fine for 2 weeks.
And the same **** happend again. So I got back to the workshop and they performed "standard fabric procedure", did hard reset (again) and told me that it is ok. Naturally it wasn't, and that fact I met next day . Now they are going to replace mainboard again.
What is going on?
Have you got such bed experience?
MJ
Are you sure you don't just accidentaly hit the "send" key while holding the phone ?
Just my two silly cents...
Hmmm annoying problem #1 in many LG KS20s including mine. Fortunately it was fixed after 3rd or 4th rom release. It was software-based problem, hope this one is too and gets solved soon
Mysterd, I checked it many times. Screen was always blocked.
I even changed my sim card.
Service had changed mainboard second time but the bug get back again.
Now I have found out, that it can be the issue connected with synchronisation with exchange server. But I will check it when phone will back to me from 4th visit in service...
Hi,
And this is the issue. I checked it many times. My voice disapear just when synchronisation with Exchange server starts (each 15 minutes), and when there are any data to download. What more, I found that others cannot call me when I'm surfing the Internet on my phone!!! They are redirected as if I would be inaccessible.
How can it be???? I never happend with iPhone. I also checked it with iPhone. There is everything ok.
And one thing more... I tried with other WM phone (Asus P750), and there is the same. No one can call me while I was surfing in the Internet, but synchronization didn't start during the call.
Can You help me???? Pls.
Regards
Marcin

unable to make calls-dailpad locks up!

every time i go to make a call, the on screen pad locks up. it doesnt matter if i type a number in, select from the contsct list or use the recent call log, they all lock up as soon as i press the talk button on the screen. tried with the hardware button but he same thing happens, the whole phone locks up and i have to reset it. after several resets is might work, or im presented with the 4 coloured blobs that rotate. sometimes i have to wait 20-30 seconds or anything to happen and it might dial, or sometimes ive waited 5 minutes for it to start dialing. im using generic HTC rom 1.66, on an unlocked handset (factory unlocked) on t-mobile UK. ive tried reflashing the phone and it resolves it for maybe a week, then the problems start again. this is now my 9th re-flash!!
still have this issue, although its a lot better since upgrading the radio to 2.11 and using CleanEX DsE v15 ROM. interestingly, if i delete all my text messages, the problem goes away!
when you bring up the dialpad, or open it by clicking a contact, it loads the call history and message history and what not into the offscreen pages. maybe its that taking time to load,, are you one of the "save all 6000 texts" and make 100 calls a day type users? that would explain why hard reset cures it for a while.
i am a heavy txt user, and what with the misses beiing on t-mobile, i call her a lot (its free for me to call her). i have now started archiving my messages on myphone, i think part of the issue was i would delete the messages, then myphone would download them all again. issue seems a lot better, but i still think with a 1ghz processor, i should be able to store my messages on the phone without it locking up

[Q] Calls go straight to voice-mail

Hello,
This doesn't always happen, but i have had my phone in one hand and i have been calling it with my home phone in the other hand and it goes straight to voice-mail even though i have full/plenty of signal! It seems to happen more consistently when the phone is asleep, but does occasionally happen with the screen on. This appears random, but happens A LOT! My girlfriend has given up calling me because she is fed up of hearing my voicemail!
This problem DOES NOT EXIST when im just booted in WinMo, only happens after i boot into android. I have checked this lots to rule out a lot of problems. However, in case it helps i am on O2 UK.
I have followed all the FAQ's and other info for clean installs and how to keep everything working, but just cant seem to shake this one problem!
This problem has happened consistently using different builds from different chefs. I am using the 2.15.50.14 radio ROM and the latest NRG WinMo ROM (have tried a couple but doesnt seem to affect my android!)
I have tried searching, but cant find anything specific to Android booting on Winmo to do with this problem.
Can you help me?!
Thanks,
Max
Please somebody help me, this is a serious problem, after all, a phones first and foremost feature should be a phone!
Try flashing a new radio onto the phone
Go back to an older radio? I'll give it a shot
Thanks
Flashing a new radio has made no difference Someone must have an answer! As odd as this sounds, i think the phone doesnt show the calls when the screen is on... havnt tested this theory much though...
I've had the same problem no matter if it's an SD build or a NAND rom. It's like when the phone goes in standby it just loses service or something. It NEVER happens when I have it set only on Edge though. It's weird! I guess it's a good think I don't answer the phone most the time anyways.
This is still happening on different radios and roms. I have also noticed that occasionally i have full signal but when i try to do anything online i get a connection error message, also i am unable to send any messages, handcent sms goes crazy thinking that i have signal but being unable to send the message giving me about 5 notifications per unsent text, imagine what happens when i send out a group text....!
This is not a huge issue on the net, which must mean theres a fix or everybody would be having this?
Whats different about my circumstances?!
Again, to reiterate, i have absolutely no problems on WinMo.
i used to get this a fair bit with certain radios on wm roms, stock and cooked, still do occasionally, , i have a very weak reception spot in my house, and if i sit there for too long it does it. I can walk back upstairs (great signal) but it continues to show 1 bar, and calls go to vm.
The only thing that ever worked for me was changing the radio. i have it down to two that very rarely do it, 2.07.50 and 2.11.50.
I also started using a toggle to keep 3g off unless i was using it, i think it is possibly triggered by auto switching gsm/3g/gsm/3g/gsm/3g.
I had one today .. missed call .. Didn't show up on the phone.
I had one today .. missed call .. Didn't show up on the phone.
Only way I knew someone had called .. was they left a VM.
However 99% of my callers never leave a VM.
( Mostly Cause I Tell them Not to! lol )
Because I always see the missed calls and call them back!
Really would like to find a fix ..
I use my phone for Biz and if I miss a call that could me $$$ out of my pocket!
Maybe the Devs Can Figure it out
I have also had this problem with both sd and nand android. Not sure if it happened with winmo, never known of it happening with winmo. But I too have called from house phone to my cell and the call doesn't show up on my cell, and when I check the cell, I have a signal. It's always been in standby when it happens afaik. The only reason I know it happens often is because my girlfriend will tell me that she's called a couple times and my phone wouldn't show it. I figured it must be a problem with T-mobile or something, but hearing that other people have this problem with android, it makes me wonder what the real issue is. I'm gonna be playing around with wp7 now in addition to android, so I'll try to see if I have this problem with wp7. I actually usually have people call my google voice number now, which transfers the calls to my cell and my house, and then google voice lets me know if i miss a call, so this way I know for sure if I miss a call.
Similar issue... possibly a build problem?
I've had this occur on some builds of Android too. I didn't use WinMo long enough to make a comparison. Does it occur more when you are in a weak signal area? Most of the times it has happened to me, I have been sitting with the phone in my pocket, and I think the reception might not be the best.
switching to a NAND ROM seems to have fixed my problem for now! Shame that didnt work for you.
Yeah please let us know if it exists in WP7. No idea how to use google voice, maybe i should check it out!
