internet on cdma hero - Hero CDMA General

im not recieving picture messages and my sprint hero does not connect to the internet unless on wifi! i tried switch the mode of operation from hybrid (whatever that is) explain somebody, to evdo can someone help me out

Try Update Profile and see if that fixes it.
If you change it to EVDO only and you have no EVDO reception in your area then you will get nothing.

it also say my mobile network state is disconnected

I assume this box is checked?
Settings --> Wireless Controls --> Mobile Network
If you uncheck that, it will turn off the mobile network..

me too
I am getting the network disconnected problem occasionaly. Update profile or restart fix it. Hope this isn't a hero issue......

Have you checked your network settings? in wireless is it set to gsm only? need to set it to gsm and wcdma preferred. Also check you have an entry under apn settings.

yea i have it set to gsm and wcdma preferred, but i just noticed that it took off my username and password under my apn settings, anybody with rogers wanna share their settings for me
nvm figured it out... just hit the default settings and it works now
I have somewhat the same problem. I installed Juicedefender today, and found out that after disabling 3G, getting the 3G connection back is problematic. I tried and deinstalled all apps which had APN control. Now I'm left with a 3G connection which is very hard to find, even planemode and reboots don't work initially. After going trough the MMS and mobile network (don't know if it's the correct translation, I have a Dutch version) settings, I sometimes randomly get a 3G connection, and then it stays on as long as I don;t disconnect it. and the 3G speed also seems allright its just when I manually disable it, getting it back is a huge pain.
Any idea how I can fix this, or at least measure the 3G reception ?

[Q] No Mobile reception

Hello,
I've a problem with my spica. Sometimes I have no reception. In one moment I've full reception an then, for a few seconds, I've nothing. The mobile isn't move in this moment.
Know anyone this problem. I use T-Mobile.
Best regards
schuessm
I have the same problem with Telering (daughter company of T-Mobile Austria).
I think the problem is the bad 3G Network connection. Just go in you wireless settings. Enter the mobile networks menu. There should be a point "only use 2g connection". Activate it.
Now test your connection again.

Problem with Mobile Internet Connection

Hey forum,
i go away from home and i have no more wifi connection.
Then i suddenly get a connection to mobile internet (EPlus) first.
As i am in an area without a connection and i come back to EPlus, i can use my phone for telephone and SMS but i get no internet connection automatically.
I must use the airplane-mode to totally logoff and 5 sec later go out of airplane-mode. In this way i get the internet connection back.
My wife has the same problem with Incredible S and GingerSense 1.3.
Is this maybe a problem of EPlus? Or is there anyone with tve same problem and another provider?
Andreas
Perhaps it's your wifi giviing you problems, going bad.
Sent from a dream.
If the signal of your provider (in this case Eplus) is weak, it might not find it right away.
Also, try going into Settings>Wireless settings then under Network mode, check if it says GSM/WCDMA
This setting will try to connect to 2G or 3G whichever has the strongest signal, however if both are available, 3G will be selected.

[Q] Roaming problems (troubles on business trip)

While everything is working perfect "at home" .. but I had quite some problems on my trip to Amsterdam .. I will try to summarize:
- I had to manually connect to my company's wifi even though the access point should be "known" to the phone. I have no Idea why since at home it simply connects to my wifi. Formerly this was not a problem - the phone connected automatically. Could have something to do with 4.3? Happened while phone was in Airplane mode (wifi manually set to on) and while phone was in roaming mode.
- When I quit airplane mode I see a stop sign - I don't get prompted to enter the sim pin. So I have to reboot the phone to get gsm working i.e. see the signal indicator.
- In roaming mode not every network operator worked. The phone e.g. saw Vodafone NL but the network wasn't available for a connection. T-Mobile worked.
- I was not able to make a data connection over any Roaming Network. I assume this is for the reason that I had no APN for that provider. Shouldn't the phone receive the correct APN "over the air" ? Or is Omega lacking an accesspoint list that works for roaming? This is puzzling me.
Any help is much appreciated. Who can shed some light?

[Q] After Lollipop update my G2 doesn't automatically connect to my wif router

When I check "Settings-->Network" the Wifi section says "Connection Available". However, it won't automatically change to wifi from my 3G service. For example, if I leave home my phone switches to 3G, but when I return home it stays on 3G. I had no problems with this on KitKat.
I've tried rebooting my phone, forgetting my connection, playing around with some of the "Advanced wifi settings", but nothing seems to help.
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think my phone DOES automatically switch to the free wifi hotspots provided by my cell company. Could there be a setting my router that may help?
