No google standard applications on my Magic (like market/maps etc.) - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Very recently I bought via Ebay a new HTC magic.
To my unpleasant surprise I found out that this phone didn't have the standard google applications installed like google market, google maps, etc.
HTC traced the s/n and it turned out that it originated from Indonesia. This country doesn't have a license to use the google applications. (or something like this) Besides that I'm using the phone in the Netherlands with a Dutch provider.
What is this phone without google market....
Now I have lots of questions, but to begin with I've lined up these 3:
-Is there an APK installation available for google market or other google applications?
-If you have any other ideas to get all the google application, then that is welcome too?
-If I decide to do a ROM update will these applications be available and working for me?
Thanks a lot for your responses!

No apk installation found.
But I installed th cyanogen rom update, and all works perfect.

Cannot purchase/upgrade applications through the Market

Hi,
I Cannot purchase/upgrade applications through the Market.
I have no problem downloading & installing apps however when I want to purchase/upgrade from trial to full, I am getting message like this:
No search results.
There are no matches in Android Market for the search:
pname:com.vscorp.android.alphamixr
This happened to me with all apps that I wanted to purchase their full version.
Can someone assist?
Thanks
Hi,
You're probably not in a Google supported region..
Try searching the forums for market enabler app. You do have to root the phone to be able to use the app, but if you really want to purchase apps from Android market, then that's probably the only thing to do until Google starts supporting your region.
Other option is to start using some optional app providers such as SlideMe.org's SAM application (http://slideme.org/).
Not even sure if there are others...

Phone not campatible for several Apps anymore

So I'm using one of the newest CM7 nightlies and I think since CM7 I have several apps, which Google won't let me install anymore.
The two I can remember right now are the official Facebook App and the Google Mail App.
I can install the apk and it works, so what's the reason for this? Does Google or the Developer of an App need to enable the download for specific ROMs? Is it a CM7 problem?
It just bugs me, that I don't get updates for those apps via market and need to find the apks on the Internet, before I can install them.
I'm on the newest nightly and those apps work fine for me. Three things:
1) Considering how you call it Google Mail, and not Gmail, it may be because the app(s) are region locked. Is Facebook banned or blocked there?
2) Or because you followed those links above from someone to the Market either on your phone or computer. Those links are broken. Check the first bit of each one, an error's quite obvious. ;-)
3) If it was in fact a region lock, download MarketEnabler from the Market if you have root and fake a carrier, allowing you to access the Market of that carrier's country.
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
there's a problem with the market when using non-standard lcd settings. so if on your legend your lcd is <>160 you're bound to get that 'incompatible' problem. try reverting back to 160 if that fixes it (as i'm sure it would)...
They shouldn't be region locked in Germany, no reason for this.
I do have set the LCD density to 135. Then this should be my problem, going to try it out later.
Thank you both
I also had the same Problem with the Gmail App.
Gmail App IS BLOCKED in German market, at least with O2 as Provider.
With Market enabler set to an American provider i could download and install it without any problem at all. Also the language of the app is german.
I don't know why google blocks this app -- it comes preinstalled with the original HTC Rom so should not be "forbidden" in Germany.
I didn't have a problem with the facebook app - maybe the problem here is the resolution setting.
Im from Germany too and used CyanogenMod in the past. With CyanogenMod You must use/flash Google Apps from their site.
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps
The facebook app I could easily download from the market, i m at O2-Germany too.
I used MarketEnabled before. That wasn't my problem in the first hand.
Like maxq1 suggested, it could depend on the LCD Density mod, which I now reverted and everything is fine again

[SOLVED] Removing My Apps/My Orders from Android Market (Web and Mobile)

Fellow Droids,
I had previous downloaded some applications from the Android Market from my HTC Desire/HTC Sensation/Galaxy Nexus handsets which I later uninstalled.
On my Nexus S, I am seeing some of those previously downloaded/uninstalled applications being restored and appearing on my "My Orders" list.
Usually I wouldn't care less but.. there are three apps on "My Orders" list which suggests I have purchased them but I haven't. I can't install these three apps either as I get a "declined" message saying I need to purcahse them first. But I can't purcahse them because the usual "buy" tab has been replaced with "purcahsed".. argh!
I have contacted Google.. but they are not being very helpful.. and the developers are also unable to assist..
Anyone here know of a solution for this because I really want to purchase those three apps?
PS. The three apps are Rail Planner Live, CalenGoo and TuneIn Radio Pro.
KKH
Usually that happens when you install apps from non-market sources, like GetJar or anything else, if you know what I mean.
This happened to me with Cut the rope, but I installed it again from another source, uninstalled it and then I have been able to install it from the Market app (not web).
The Install button was being displayed, but once I clicked it went on with the normal purchase process.
You can also try clearing the data for the Market app and then try again.
No way I know of through which you can delete your orders.
This has been a huge issue with the new version of the market and the advent of alternate app sources like Amazon, GetJar, SlideMe, and others.
The way I get around this in GB is as follows:
1. Wipe Market data, uninstall market
2. Install old version of Market (version 2.3.6)
3. Open old version of Market and buy/download the app
In my experience, it auto-updates to the most recent version of Market immediately after the first app download or a bit later if left alone. You may have to do this 3 times for your 3 apps... assuming that version works with ICS. Hope it works for you.

Just delete or freeze the market updater apk to prevent automatic market updates.

[Q] Google Now Cards Missing - Unable to Activate

Hi,
Recently upgraded to kitkat 4.4 and cannot activate Google Now. I go into Google Now and it just shows the search and nothing else
(No Cards). I also cannot activate it from the settings menu. I am currently located in China but it works fine for my Galaxy Nexus.
Any Ideas? I've tried factory reset and re-flashing the factory image. Also of course erasing the data and cache from Google Search.
Regards,
Bobbie
Same here
Same problem here! Please post if you find out how to fix ths. I'm also based in China now.

Check your "Google Settings" - is Google Now turned OFF ?
Go to Settings, Account & look under your Google Account - Syncs ON ?
Hi,
In my google settings there is no reference to Google now! o.o I'm sure it was there before updating...
Also, yes, all the sync is turned on under my Google account in the settings menu.
Is it possible that google now is simply not availiable in China? I updated my Nexus with a chinese sim card inside, this time.

Stock roms & kernels (or minimal modifications} ??
Access to Google's server from China (and the lack of) is one likely reason - even if the Apps are working & functioning, including location reporting since authorities do filter broadband traffic.
Can you access weather reports for Beijin, Guangzhou & Hong Kong via Google Now and/or via Google Search on the stock Chrome Browser? If it is working, those Now "cards" should be filled & showing up like ours here in the USA.
The stock KitKat 4.4 roms all have these apps, unless they are somehow remotely disabled and/or blocked - reasons for why we use Hangouts with ease while folks on the other half of the world are using WeChat instead ...
The solution requires a rooted phone.
Install Nova launcher and titanium backup.
Download the apk for Google Search 2.6.xx. You can find this easily.
Use titanium backup to uninstall Google search. This is why you have to install Nova. Otherwise you won't have a launcher.
Install Google search 2.6. You will be asked if you want to use Google now. Press yes.
Go to the Google play store and update to latest Google search. Now google now cards will be enabled. That's it. Kind of a pain but the only way to do it in China as far as I know. Hope this helps.

How to install Google Play Service to download apps like Gmail, Facebook, Whatsapp...

Hello everyone,
I just purchased a new brand Samsung M30s with its incredible 6Go RAM and 6000mA battery but the problem is that it comes without Google Play Services : no PlayStore, no Chrome, no Gmail :crying: ... and a lot of chinese application which I can't understand. I know that this version is chinese and I already have purchased it from AliExpress from China but now I'm searching for a way to install all the Google Store Apps because actually I'm living in France and not in China.
So I'm asking you for solutions if there's other who had the same issue like me
Thank you in advance.
You can download the APK from the internet and manually install it. I got mine from apkmirror. Search "play store". It seams to work fine for me but let me know if there is any issue.
