Sprint HTC Snap - Calls while Tethering - Dash 3G, Snap General

I used the cab file found in another thread to fix the ICS tethering issue i was having and can now tether using ICS via USB or BT. It works great but whenever I make/receive a call, i lose data connectivity. My co-workers AT&T tilt will drop back from 3G to edge during a call but will still allow a data connection, mine will not however.
Is this just the way it has to be with Sprint and/or HTC Snap or is there a way for me to fix this?
Thanks!

cdma cannot do voice and data at the same time so there is no fix.

Hi dougvan,
Is the cab file you referred to the following?
http://sites.google.com/site/sprinticfix/icfix
It does not seem to work for my HTC Snap. Any tip will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Sorry, it works after soft reset.
I used toast.net to find its speed 550kb, not bad at all.

Concerning the Sprint PPC 6700

I don't know if any of you can help, but here goes.
I have a Sprint PPC 6700 and cannot receive incoming calls when transferring data over their EVDO network. I have heard that this is an issue with their PRL or something, but don't understand all that stuff.
Do any of y'all know how to hack in and fix this problem?
For more info go to http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...int-6700s-manufactured-after-4-1-06-a-13.html
If you're using EVDO "internet" the phone should ring, and the EVDO connection should be temp. disconnected. It should not disable incoming calls.
I know of no hacks, but you can use Wi-Fi, and the phone at the same time...

John,
Unfortunately, larryjbjr is describing a problem with the current Sprint 6700. The link included in his post gives more information, but April-1 and newer versions do not ring through when there is an active EVDO connection.

You should check the forum again. One member there (mjreddy) got a test update ROM from sprint and it has a fix in there. Worked on my phone without any problems. Hope this helps.
There is a PRI 1.18 patch over at pdaphonehome.com works great. No need to hard reset either.

Internet Dialing - VOIP

I have been trying to find an answer to this all over the forums. Has any of the cooked roms enabled the VOIP capabilities back into the phone?
I am using the VZW 6800 and would love to be able to dial over wifi with my asterisk server. I know VZW removes this feature, but I have not found out whether any of the cooked roms, including DCD's roms have added this back in.
If anyone knows, or has used this feature, please let me know your experience.
Thank you!
Check the last pages of this thread and you should be good to go. Over wifi things are good but over 3g it's not.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950&highlight=voip
I have gotten the voip stuff working on my sprint mogul w/ the sero plan (connected to gizmo), but there are a few things that keep me from using it:
a. even though it *does* work over the EVDO connection, with both evdo and wifi the outgoing audio is really clippy (both bluetooth and wired headsets tested)
b. for some reason, when I have voip enabled I can't get phone service half the time... it's like I put a 6db attenuator on the receiver and it only gets service if I have really good signal to the tower
c. the audio is so quiet that it's virtually unusable that way
follow the above linked thread, I think that's where I got my info as well.
Also, keep in mind that the 'net connection you use has to be initialized when you try to make/receive a call (use PIE if need be, particularly when using the phone's internet connection rather than wifi), and in order to make outgoing calls, you'll have to make your own dialplan. (edit ipdialplan.xml)
I can post mine, if you want, I just don't have it with me. if you would like me to, PM me ('cause I might forget to check this thread again) and I'll post it here.

Touch HD calls dropping

Just got my new HD, and I have to say very good phone, apart from a coupld of issues.
1) When out and about driving my phone calls cut out, I beleiev it's when the phone is switching between 3G and GSM. I phoned orange and they have asked me to select GSM only under the Settings>Phone>Band Thats all good and well but I can;t then use my 3G connection
Wondered if anyone has any tips or suggestions or has the same problem?
2) Can't lock my device by pressing the End call key when I have auto password timer set. There must be a way to enable both these options at the same time?
Thanks for reading, please help if poss, or at least let me know I'm not alone with these issues.

I dont know if it's exactly the same issue but I've noticed that mine (Orange UK) occasionally misses calls even though there appears to be some coverage. it hasnt cut out on me, though.
It seems to be something to do with the 3g functionality and I was wondering... is there an easy way to switch it on and off? i rarely use it on dataconnection so I dont mind keeping it on gsm/gprs but want to retain the ability to connect to hspda or other when necessary.
Is there an easy fix?
Doesn't sound like the same issue, but you can disable 3G by going to Start>Settings>Phone>Band and selecting GSM in select network type.
This will disable your 3G connection. If you wish to use it again you'll have to reset it to auto.
Logicalstep
Anyone know if there is a way to stop the phone from switching between 3G ans GSm while in the middle of a call?
I know this should be an obvious thing for the phone not to do, but mine seems to be doing it.

BUMP* Anyone?
BUMP* Anyone?
Phone still cutting out when the data connection swotched, I just want it to not try and switch data connection while on call.
Thanks in advance

How can I use a smart phone on AT&T just on wifi

So I just picked up a couple of WM phones HTC743 and an AT&T Tilt 2.
I've been using one of the early windows smartphones for a number of years just for the the contact manager because it uses activesynch nicely with Outlook. Too damn small for any network access though.
I'm not terribly interested in a big data plan for a lot of internet access. I might pickup my email and surf a bit while I'm traveling though. I had wanted to use the wifi for that.
Th HTC s743 gave AT&T a bit of a startle because the didn't know what it was.
It's functioning but even though I have Data Conn. turned off it still manages to automatically turn on once in a while. I see daily very low volume charges even though everything says I'm accessing via WIFI.
I just plugged the simm into the Tilt 2 and though I haven't called AT&T as yet about this phone it did allow calls in and out but I can't seem to get the internet connection working even though wifi shows as being connected. It takes a long time for it to connect compared with the S743.
So ... is there a way to use either of these phones via wifi only?
Just turning off the Data Conn. on the s743 doesn't seem to completely work. The pre loaded GPS app appears to automatically turn Data Conn. back on. I know it does this if wifi & Data Conn. are both turned off.
A neat little AT&T billing trick?
From what I have read on here I think I maybe screwed on the TILT 2.
It also appears that until I register the Tilt 2 with AT&T my WIFI internet surfing just isn't going to work or do I have something else wrong?
I just have Data off, and no Data plan, but I'm using a android phone. I'm using the HTC Aria.
I was able to fix the S743 by just deleting the "APN"? in the configuration menu. I can always reload it quickly from AT&T if need be. But that phone also let's me pick between AT&T or Tmobile so I think it's more flexible to begin with. It's WM6.1 whereas the AT&T Tilt 2 is WM6.5 and there's no such configuration page where you can download the network configuration from AT&T. I've looked but maybe I missed something?
I also can't get this phone to work on WIFI either yet.
If you can, just change a character in the apn. This will stop it connecting, and it will let you easily switch it back on by changing it back if need be

[Q] No Internet Sharing after traveling

So, I have a Verizon Wireless Trophy. I was thrilled to finally be able to use Internet Sharing, and I had it working fine. Then I travelled internationally and was using my Trophy on another carrier with a local SIM card. After returning home, I am no longer able to use Internet Sharing. As soon as I try to enable it, I get this error: Connection not shared - There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again. Yet my data connection is working fine. My guess is that the Connection Setup app messed something up?
I did contact HTC support, they basically said that they are aware of the issue but have no further information to give me.
Anyone else experience this? Any workarounds?
Many thanks,
I. Kinal

Are you using it on Verizon Wireless? If so, you need to have an official Internet Sharing package, or read my first post in my custom rom for instructions on bypassing it. This works even with the official SparkW (VZW) Trophy rom.
I'm assuming you are using the stock rom.
Yes, I am on Verizon with a Share Everything plan - like I said, everything was working fine before I left the US.

Yeah, just try the PST modification. It's easy to do and it should make wifi hot spot work, assuming you have a data connection. I too, used to be able to use tethering with or without the dun mod, but since Verizon added the internet sharing package to their website, I must do the bypass.
Unfortunately, that did not work - had no effect.
I should add that that trick is how I got Internet Sharing working in the first place, despite the fact that I have a Share Everything plan.

Are you running Tango update (OS Version 8773)? If you used interop unlock to enable it in Mango v1, then the newest driver changes the method in which it works (I doubt you used interop unlock to enable it at all).
Do you have any data access on the phone at all? Can you load websites? If you can't, you need to open up Connection Setup and re-select Verizon Wireless even if you've already done it once, and that should reset the data connection (conversely, if you have data and select it, data will disappear).
Yes, my OS Version is 8773.
This phone has never been interop unlocked.
Data works just fine.

Same issue with me - Internet Sharing worked fine, but after using SIM card with international operator and trying to use Internet Sharing on Verizon I get the same message: "Connection not shared - There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again." Data service works fine by itself but not ICS. Any solutions?
