How do I add the Inner Circle to my t-mobile Dash? - Dash 3G, Snap General

I have an unlocked, pre-release t-mobile Dash 3g (Snap/Maple).
The ROM does not have any t-mobile icons in it, which is kind of nice. Makes me wonder what ROM this is?
Anyway, is there a cab file or something to add Inner Circle? I like the idea of a White List for email, etc. Which is basically what it is.

For some reason, Inner Circle has to be cooked into a ROM. I have built many cabs of it that just don't work.
You can see what version your ROM is in Settings, About.

touchflo on Wing question

Question is this. I changed my theme to a standard blue theme from the today settings but i cant get it back to the standard black theme that was in effect when i installed the touchflo rom.. anyone know how to get back to the black theme??
Also....after installing the touchflo rom i noticed that i was missing a couple applications. One in particular is Tzones. I have a hotspot service and cant log on because i dont have the login screen.. anyway i can get this back to my phone? the IM client was also lost but i found this...
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mike
Which touchflo rom did you download? If you got the one for the wing, go into Start>Settings>Today>T-Mobile_Default_Blue should be the OEM theme. Hope that helps a little.
Well initially the phone was apparently set to the Mobile_Default_Blue but was a black theme. When i switched it and went back to it then it was blue. I really liked the black theme and want to switch back but i havent a clue how to do so....i've been searching. Help is greatly appreciated.
I'm running the PDAVIET v14 rom.....Being as this is not a tmobile rom the myfavs are not on it. Its not a huge deal, as a matter of fact i dont even really care. But i wouldnt mind getting the tzones back until my total internet package takes effect on the 23. any suggestions anybody?
In that same Today settings tag you should be able to select which items to show up on the today screen, and there should be an option for T-zones there. Or you could flash a different rom onto your wing that supports T-zones if you can't find it there.

I have the PDAVIET .14 ROM and MyFaves are, in fact, in it. You just need to use a tool like Memaid 2.0 to find the link and add it to your start menu or the Home Page. That's what I did, and it's working fine.
TZones should also in the ROM, and can probably be added in the same way.
Well....i'll keep looking into the Tzones issue. It is nowhere on my phone. I really do like the touchflo rom and the cube feature so i dont neccessarily want to switch roms. I wouldnt mind having it back on the phone as i get ringtones and such from there (thats pretty much it) Is there away to put it back on the phone without having to find another rom?? Or is there a better way to get ringtones?
As for the myfaves, thats not a huge concern either...i'm sure that even if you dont have the myfaves selection on the phone you can still use the service..you just have to manage them on mytmobile.

So I not really familiar with the app Memaid 2.0. how exactly would i go about finding these apps with that program. I dont mind installing it and trying to find it but i wouldnt know where to start. And is there any other program that does the same thing...i mean, i dont truly feel like paying 20 bucks for it, anywhere else i can get it from?
Ok, download and run the Wing Touch it ROM from Tyer's thread. It will still run and operate like the touch, but have all the same features of the Wing RUU, like Myfaves, T-zones, IM clients, etc...
I appreciate all of your help.....like i said the myfavs and tzones are not a hell of a big deal but i guess they are sorta convenient. So the Touch it rom VERSUS the touchflo rom is pretty much identical with the exception Touchit was made with the standart apps from tmobile? I truly like the cube feature and dont want to loose it...if they're the same except for the preloaded apps, i would do it....so this is the case??
Again, you guys have been very helpful, thanks a bunch!
For the black bars, under extra, (within programs) there should be a "glossy black bars" icon. Click on it.
Ur probably talking about Glossy Black Bars
go to ur programs, it should be there, just click it n it'll change
Just Wondering
I was just wondering if any1 has devised a way to use a portion of your sd memory as ram some how?? or is this a stupid question??
its an interesting idea, but SD is too slow to use for RAM

Can I change the blue colors of my new AT&T HTC Tilt 2?

Hi all, total newb here.
I have a new Tilt 2 from AT&T and I'm in way over my head here with changing things around (first smart phone). I've been searching these board for several days, trying different things, but I'm not having much luck. Basically, all I want to do is get rid of all the blue on the TF3D. Anyway to do this?
I'd really love a simple, sleek black theme going. I tried the Dusk theme from another thread, but that didn't work. So, in short: Is there a simple, newb-friendly way to change all that blue to black?
Thanks for the time.
I've been digging around quite a bit, and it looks like there's no easy way to do this. So I've been playing with the manila editor I found on these boards, and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out here.
1. I have found and copied all the manilla files from the phone. I am assuming all I need to do is simply alter the images and replace, correct?
2. In trying to replace the images - changing blue to black with a color replacement tool in Photoshop - I am having an issue with image quality once the file is converted back to a manila file. Here's what happens: I save the original manila file as a .png. I then alter this file by changing it from blue to black. Then I use the manila editor to replace the file. HOWEVER - after I replace the file, the image becomes horribly dithered. This also happens if I save as a .jpg. Any way to retain image quality when converting back to a manila file?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.
get MaxManilla and install HDWalls
make a background using HDWalls (save the image to use as theme background so you can see it under "start" too) and apply it.
I have a tilt2 and I flashed to leo energy with dusk... love the switch !
edit:
you can also try applying the HQ Wallpaper patch
Rajinn, thanks for the response. If I may pick your brain for a moment...
When you say "flashed to leo energy with dusk," what does that entail, exactly? (total n00b, remember?) What, exactly, does flashing to leo energy accomplish? Is this something a beginner can accomplish without destroying the phone?
Looking around at the non-AT&T Rhodium, I would be very happy with the standard TF3D black version, but I'll entertain other ways to get something similar. That blue Touchflo is just too... blue.
Thanks!
Alternatively, if this is easier:
Is there a way to change my blue AT&T TF3D to the standard, non-AT&T black TF3D?

When he said "flashed to leo energy with dusk", he means he flashed to EnergyROM "Leo" (The ROM version) with the "MaxManila Dusk" Manila (aka TF3D) theme. While flashing a custom ROM, like EnergyROM, is pretty safe and has many benefits (such as faster overall speed and a superior user experience), you might not want to try it right away if you're still a bit new to your phone. I recommend you get a good feel for Windows Mobile and the Tilt2 before exploring more advanced options such as custom ROMs.
I would also follow his suggestion of using HDwalls. I've never used it myself, but it's very popular among the boards. There are also premade wallpapers here if you don't want to make your own. If you want to change the bottom slider with all the tabs, you might try this website for premade sliders.
Have had a Tilt 2 for a while now, and wanted to know the same thing. The highlight color is blue on the clock and other things and I hate it too. But I haven't found a way to change them yet. Tried HDwalls and some other stuff. Will end up flashing, just waiting for the right ROM to surface. Sorry. A far as mine tho only highlight is blue, Clear clock,no lines, curtians, sliders, ect...

I agree, and thanks for the advice. I'd be way in over my head if I tried it and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
I did manage to replace my blue clock, and hopefully I can replace the blue slider. With those two changes, I can definitely live with the remaining blue highlights.
(I now have a transparent clock with the white numbers. If anyone has a link or a .cab file for the stock black background clock with white numbers, I'd be grateful. The transparent is cool, but not quite what I'm after)
Thanks all!

When I still used Sense 2.1, this worked for me.
working on a tmo version of what you are describing...
... But the trouble is that there are so many image files that need to be converted. also, I agree abou the image quality. in fact, I found that the best way to go about changing images for TF3D is doing the complete oposite of what I was describing in my thread (signature).
the only way to make it look good is to dither it further, or make a design that uses no gradients (yes even a B&W gradient turns out bad). I am not sure why that is. maybe because winmo only supports 8 or 32 bit, and does not support 16 or 24 bit.
I have already changed my slider button from blue to black, but it is a completely different image. and yes, I had to complicate the image a lot for it to look half way decent. I kinda miss M2D in a way because if it.

Thank you, I'll give that one a try this evening.
S.V.I: That slider button is the one thing that's driving me nuts. (Well, until it's changed, then something else will come along )
So I understand the process of changing images - once I alter an image using the Manila editor and replace the manila file with the new image, do I simply replace the manila file in the /windows directory?
If so, I noted that I do not have permissions to do a copy & replace (Total Commander needed, right?). Could I simply delete the original manila file and then paste the new file (so no copy/overwrite is needed)?
Thanks!

When you finally get tired of it, which you probably will, read up on flashing. If you read in the forums for days before asking a question, read on. Flashing, to me, is more benefial than keeping the stock ROM. IF AND ONLY IF, you get a good ROM that has no issues, and stick with it. For those of us who like to flash often, it is more of a hobby to test others work, than for us to use. But if you see a great ROM that you absolutely love the look of it, read read read, and flash flash flash. Be sure to ask as many questiosn as possible before flashing, so you don't mess nothing up though.
slider buttons. hopefully they uploaded bu opera.
these are the sliders buttons that I made. sorry i can not upload any photos. dont have them. but you can try them and see which suits you. just make sure that you disable manila before installing and uninstalling them.

/me ducks before the sh*te flies !

Ok, I have searched the Rhodium section and XDA in general and I get pages and pages of results, so here goes....
Any idea how I can totally remove the envelopes on the email preview on a stock 6.5 please?
I have been using the latest Energy ROM but had a couple of issues that I couldnt sort and had to go back to stock, but I really loved that feature as I didn't need to open up most emails I could just read them on the preview screen.
Is it an addon or part of the latest Touchflo ?
Thanks.

Thats perfect, thank you.
The email tab in that post gave me garbled graphics on the Tilt2. The email paper graphics looked fine, albeit kind of laggy, but the slider was all messed up and the side tabs for the email accounts only showed white boxes. Not surprisingly, this really is designed for the stock HTC ROM only. Fortunately, it uninstalls easily and leaves no problems in its wake.

What rom are you using? The reason for the garbled images is due to the mode being cfc compressed while your rom's files are not.

Heh, it's not exactly what I was looking for, but thanks.
Really, I would like what the OP wanted. The Sense 2.5 version which seems to give much more preview content than the 2.1 version. As for what you provided... I'm not sure yet whether I prefer it or not. It seems to actually show a bit more, but seeing the envelope behind it kind of has a funky look.
Regardless, it's a nice thing to see posted as I'm sure some people would prefer it this way.
Unfortunately the AT&T Stock ROM uses an old Manila. There is no Location Service functionality or Weather Clock. Similar things happen if you try to disable the Clock Flip etc... It's all because of the stock ATT Manila package.
If you are looking for a fully compatable ATT ROM, give my ROM series a shot. It's specifically been created to keep full functionality with the Stock ATT packages.
e2 ROM Sense 2.1 - Built off of the stock ATT ROM
e2 ROM Sense 2.5 - Built off of the 2.07 Rhodium ROM but fully customized for ATT Network/Apps

Questions concerning cooked roms vs branded phones [T-Mobile]

I'll keep this relatively short so's not to bore anyone...lol.
I have a T-Mobile Dash 3G with WinMo 6.5 standard. The question I have is more towards the MyFave 5 service I have. If I flash a cooked rom....say the 3vo for Maple(Dash3G) will it remove that service from my phone? I know it won't actually remove the service itself because it's part of my plan, but will it remove the actual software the service uses?
I'm not sure why, (prolly from when I had my RAZR V3 without Fave 5 software), but I actually like it on my phone. I use both the service and software quite often so I'd really hate to lose it.
Lastly I noticed the rom comes with software like Resco Explorer and such, Is this something I will have to pay for later on or is it the full app? I have a copy of Resco's full app so I'm not too worried about it but it's something I'm curious about. Anyways, thank you guys!!
When flashing a ROM all the software included and data will be erased, even if you still having the service with your provider.
But on my experience with this great device or any other hTC, is that cooked ROM´s are always much better and faster than stock, and I´m sure you will be able to find the software you need in XDA
And don´t worry about resco it is included on ookba fantastic ROM amongst many other great features that stock don´t come with...
awesome orb thank you for the info. Yeah I went ahead and went with 3vo.3.00.401010 and although it works well, I found some significant bugs. MyFaves ctrl panel page is listing all my faves contacts as "undefined" with both numbers and names and the icons come up white. The circular style menu doesn't work at all. I used a CHome work around but other stuff is refusing to work as well; such as the HTCWeather service. The titanium weather that uses accuweather works but you have to have wifi enabled in order for it to update. HTCWeather's you didn't need to do that. Also for some reason when I try to add a city it won't actually add it in. The panel simply displays "add city" no matter how many times I add one.
Granted, by comparrison to the rest of the rom's significant improvements these are minor, but I also kinda feel like I have half of a phone now.
I'd actually mention the bugs in the rom thread but I've noticed that people don't really like to reply too much around here.
I'm by no means ungrateful at all, and I love the 3vo rom which is why I continue to use it despite the small issues. I'm wondering if it might be a radio version conflict for MyFaves but I'm not nearly experienced enough to even begin to look into it. It's one of those little nagging things.....lol.

[Q] Need someone to clarify some things.

Can someone tell me if the HTC Snap from Telus and the Maple from Wind are the same, cause they both look different Also will the roms in this section work on both if or if not.

Yes they're the same. The snap is a Maple form factor, the only differences are some of the buttons are slightly different IE: on the Dash 3g (aka snap, maple), the inner circle key from the sprint or verizon snap is replaced with a generic shortcut key. Some of the other keys are moved around abit too. Mainly the camera and message keys. Everything else is the same.
Going from snap to maple wind the proprietary software such as inner circle or MyFaves (Dash 3G) will be different as well. It all depends on the provider whom HTC designed the phone for. Hope this helps. Concerning the ROM you'll have to go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=502
Make ABSOLUTELY SURE the rom is the correct one for your phone. The 3vo rom I have is the newest build for our phone types too. You'll see things like Inner Circle and MyFaves services if you flash the rom, but MyFaves is disabled by default in the UITweaks section of the ROM. You'll still have the software but A) it won't be visible and B) it won't be functional since you're not with T-mobile. As I said before though, just make damn sure the ROM you flash is the correct one for your phone and the phone should theoretically do the rest.
Thanks for the info. So basically in short form, if i had a Snap the rom should have Snap in the title. Same goes for the Maple and Dash?

Yup that's about the size of it. If you really want to know what kind of form factor your phone is do this: Power the phone down completely and look under the battery. On the back panel it should say something along the lines of MAPL100 or similar. Whatever the beginning is wil be what type of phone you have. I think Cedar says CEDA100 or something. But yeah, that's about it.
One very important difference between the two is that the WIND HTC Maple is a GSM/UMTS band phone whereas the Telus HTC Snap is a GSM/CDMA phone.
