/me ducks before the sh*te flies ! - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Ok, I have searched the Rhodium section and XDA in general and I get pages and pages of results, so here goes....
Any idea how I can totally remove the envelopes on the email preview on a stock 6.5 please?
I have been using the latest Energy ROM but had a couple of issues that I couldnt sort and had to go back to stock, but I really loved that feature as I didn't need to open up most emails I could just read them on the preview screen.
Is it an addon or part of the latest Touchflo ?
Thanks.

Thats perfect, thank you.

The email tab in that post gave me garbled graphics on the Tilt2. The email paper graphics looked fine, albeit kind of laggy, but the slider was all messed up and the side tabs for the email accounts only showed white boxes. Not surprisingly, this really is designed for the stock HTC ROM only. Fortunately, it uninstalls easily and leaves no problems in its wake.

What rom are you using? The reason for the garbled images is due to the mode being cfc compressed while your rom's files are not.

Heh, it's not exactly what I was looking for, but thanks.
Really, I would like what the OP wanted. The Sense 2.5 version which seems to give much more preview content than the 2.1 version. As for what you provided... I'm not sure yet whether I prefer it or not. It seems to actually show a bit more, but seeing the envelope behind it kind of has a funky look.
Regardless, it's a nice thing to see posted as I'm sure some people would prefer it this way.

Unfortunately the AT&T Stock ROM uses an old Manila. There is no Location Service functionality or Weather Clock. Similar things happen if you try to disable the Clock Flip etc... It's all because of the stock ATT Manila package.
If you are looking for a fully compatable ATT ROM, give my ROM series a shot. It's specifically been created to keep full functionality with the Stock ATT packages.
e2 ROM Sense 2.1 - Built off of the stock ATT ROM
e2 ROM Sense 2.5 - Built off of the 2.07 Rhodium ROM but fully customized for ATT Network/Apps

Anyone Tried the Touch IT WM6.5 Project?

Guys,
Anyone tried the above found in the Rom Development Section of this forum?
How is the feedback and is it worthwhile to use this ROM instead of the default WM6.1 R2AA?
awesome
i am trying it now and its just great!
coul be a little slow in some places but i have never had to soft reset for any reason i didnt invoke . its surprisingly stable and compatible with everything. i was even able to sync with activesync and also my emails even though ppl complained about these 2 issues.
Best thing abt 6.5 is its user friendlyness (honeycomb) and that its way more finger friendly than 6.1 (kinetic ihphone like scrolling EVERYWHERE - even in programs,,,, and larger better looking buttons also EVERYWHERE!!)
be sure to flash hardspl first and enjoy this great ROM!!

If I want to flash back the stock ROM, does that mean that I need to download the stock ROM image from the HardSPL thread and do the same image updating.
After it has been updated then update the ROM via SEUS to the latest R2AA ROM?

Hey fellow Singaporean
I'm using the itje's 6.5 Rom. I love it. Prefer Titanium than the TouchFlo. Though I wished WinMo would've put an options on how to view the menu. I prefer normal grid alignments than the honeycomb. But all in all, love the rom.

And which folder I have to put in so that the WM6.5 able to read the background pictures?
just installed it few hours ago.. the today screen is somewhat laggy.. applications are somewhat hard to reach. wm 6.5 dont have weather and programs tab for commonly used apps.. having problems with active sync (email)
my rating would be 6.5/10

I found out that there is the battery indicator bug as it is not updating the status from the battery so decided to go back to original R2AA ROM first.
Why do we need a separate thread to discuss this? I've suggested a potential fix for the battery bug in the official thread...

Hehe, yeah, dutch it is.
The problem is that the normal download uses a compression method to decrease the file size up to 90% (see cab size difference), which makes manila faster. Thing is, manila needs to be patched for it to work. Look up Chainfire's Compression for more information.

It should work with a branded ROM as well, unless completely new manila files have been added (which I think is unlikely).
I've just tried it on my Vodafone branded Pro2, and all works well except when you stop on any tab, the background goes black so you can't see anything much.
The transitions between tabs is so great - I hope this can be made to work fully. Great work, thanks!

Do I understand correctly that the background (as in the screenshots) only shows while scrolling, but not while actually inside a tab?
I'll relay this information to Rotastrain (the creator of the panoramic background mode9 file) so it can be looked into.

I have got a HTC one... so can't tell how it works on the branded one. I had to use the compability cab anyway.
on my Voda branded one the compatibility cab works fine apart from some of the fonts stay black. The calendar tab is particularly bad and a white font & lines would have been better.
Great theme tho!

Yeah, that's what I've been experiencing. It seems it's the same issue Stunno is having, as with a light background (which I believe it's supposed to be) the black fonts would be suitable.
Will be fantastic to have this to replace the Vodafone theme once it's fully functional, thanks again!
I should clarify my post as it was done in a rush this morning.
The theme is FULLY functional. The background scrolls beautifully from tab to tab (OK there is a slight glitch in that there is a thin black line down the settings tab about 3/4 of the way across and a light one half way across the calendar tab)
My problem is the font colour in some of the tabs. Which is more of a layout problem than a theme problem. In particular
The People tab perfect apart from the phone number is in black over a dark part og the background - but no biggy because who needs this anyway I've only included for completeness
The Calendar tab has black text and lines on a predominantly dark background
The Music tab ditto
the Internet tab ditto
Having said all of that, and I hope it didn't come across as whinging because it wasn't meant to, I am keeping it on as it is a HUGE improvement on the VF one!

Yes, CFC compressed files work better. The compatibility pack is not compressed, like TF3D is normally. So, for a performance increase, I recommend patching your manila, using CFC GUI 0.55.

Alright. I'm willing to improve based on feedback. I do however, need screenshots for clarification. The reason is that - although you did a very good attempt at clarifying - I can still interpret your problems in differing ways.
So, please post some screenshots and I'll look into it.
The vertical lines in the background are a TF3D problem, we can't get rid of it - yet. (TF3D doesn't like sticking pictures to eachother(
I've attached screenshots of what I'm experiencing.
Screenshot 1: What I have when TF3D first loads - perfect!
Screenshot 2: Once I touch the screen however, the background goes black
Screenshot 3: When choosing between tabs, the background goes to the photo again
Screenshot 4: Then when I stop on a tab, the background goes black again - very nice!
Thanks so much - this will be so good compared to the default Vodafone theme!

I understand that it might seem intimidating if you're new to WM and HTC. I can also understand that you'd love to have all the best fixes and stuff. Do take into account though, that it takes some time and a lot of reading to really get a grasp of how everything works and is integrated.
Patching manila, however, is - luckily for you - made simple by Chainfire. Read his thread here.

The "OMG, I can't believe this actually worked on my T-Mobile USA HD2!" Discussion.
So, quite recently on Twitter, I've been informing my followers of things I've tried, managed to accomplish, and/or various ideas on tweaks that I'd like to attempt in the future.
Now, with that in mind...
I'd like to present this thread as an open-discussion topic, to further the common knowledge of everyday users and "1337 h4xz0Rz" alike.
Please, feel free to share a "success story" of something you've managed to make possible on your HD2. Whether it be a registry tweak, theme, custom ROM, or various modifications... be sure to offer as much detailed information as you can, allowing other users to perhaps share in the same experiences.
More-or-less, this is where TESTS, TRIAL-RUNS, and COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS will meet in terms of what CAN and simply CANNOT be done... SAFELY on our devices.
hmm well it wasn't very "1337" but I was pretty happy that I could edit the registry to make TouchTwit blink the LED when I get mentions/msgs.

1) Open registry editor
2) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications
3) There will be a lot of GUID entry folders. Find the one that corresponds to the notification you want to alter. When you open the folder, the (Default) value, if set, is the name of the notification that corresponds to the control panel value.
4) Change AvailableOptions from 11 to 15
5) Hit start->settings->Sounds & Notifications->Notifcations
6) Scroll to the notification type you just changed (for me, "TouchTwit: Mentions")
7) The box "flash light for [x]" will no longer be greyed out
Great find. Definitely worth mentioning. This is the kind of stuff we need on here. Thanks for the submission.
reignzone- I would like to know if it is possible to increase the vibe alert intensity on the TmoUS HD2? I did a search and was not able to find anything. Well, in terms of vibration intensity... that is usually application specific. The system vibration alerts cannot really be tampered with as far as I know. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. There are applications, "modded" applications that provide various system tweaks that can alter the vibration... but not too many of them are focused on something so "simple" as vibrating alerts.
As for a system dump, that would be excellent. Post in a few other threads in this area, and I'm sure you'll find people that would be glad to assist you in providing that for us all.

I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but I just installed and tested quite literally, every transparent home tab slider from the guys at PPCMods.
And needless to say, each one of them worked, flawlessly. Also, they all look just gorgeous. But after testing "the look" of most all of them... I fell in love with the Colorful Stickers icons. Simple, HUGE, and great design.
Finally, the clock fonts are phenomenal as well... check those out too.

Home screen resolution, graphics issue

Hey guys, I've been having a very annoying issue since updating to the latest energyrom April 1st 25344 build that I never had previously. After updating (I was previously using the March 26th build w/ no issues) I have noticed a sharp downgrade in resolution and graphics (wallpaper, text) on my home screen, including slider graphics and text.
The graphics and resolution are perfect on the lock screen and start menu, just the resolution on the home screen is the issue. When I switch the theme to windows default titanium, the graphics and resolution on the home screen becomes crisp and clear....switch back to htc sense and no matter what wallpaper I use, etc., the graphics and text become blurry/poor.
Please refer to the links to example pictures below:
Perfect resolution/graphics on lock screen - crisp and clear
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot2.jpg
Same background using home screen using Titanium - crisp and clear
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot3.jpg
Same background using HTC sense w/ nrgrom Apr 1 - pixelated poor resolution
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot1.jpg
I have tried everything I can think of to try to correct this and get back my crisp and clear home screen when using htc sense theme. I have even re-flashed to different energyrom builds, completely different custom roms, and even flashed back to the stock rom found on these forums (2.10.0). The home screen graphics downgrade stays even when I flash to those various roms! Before I updated to the newest energyroms, everything was crystal clear. This all happened right after I updated to the new April 1st build. I've posted numerous times on the energyrom thread, but no one seems to know what the issue is.
A few other notes: Before I flash I have ran task 29 format, and after flashing the custom rom, I've made sure no apps, fonts, etc were installed. Nothing I do seems to fix this issue. I'm using a T-Mo US htc hd2 w/ hspl2.
Please, if anyone is experiencing similar issues or know of any fixes any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to have to keep using titanium as my main theme just so I can have some crisp resolution and graphics on the home screen =(

I don't mind letting you know what I did. First off, I use a custom energyrom. It's one of, if not the most popular custom rom for the htc hd2 (all versions meaning USA and international). The lock screen you see is built into the newer versions of the energy custom roms...meaning you don't need a .cab, etc to separately install it if you choose to use this rom. You can download energyrom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
You don't need to search for a tmo-US version...all of his roms work on US hd 2's...he just left the tmobile stock folder (cabs) out (you can dl those cabs separately, there is a specific thread with the stock tmo us cabs in the forums).
If you want to stay stock or are using a different custom rom that doesn't have the lock screen feature, you can find the necessary .cab file to install this feature here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637671
Scroll down the page and you should see the dl link for it amongst the tweaks. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip buddy but I've always had chainfire's drivers when using energyrom. Are you sure that is the issue? That was one of the programs that I auto-installed using the built in xda uc feature in energyrom after flashing. Even without it, the home screen graphics have always been crisp and clear so I doubt it has anything to do with that.
When I re-flashed back to the stock rom, I still had the low-res home screen...and chainfire's drivers are not needed for the stock rom...it's more tailored to help when playing gl games and watching videos (for stuttering, etc).
Thanks for trying to help...I really have searched all day for any answers...trust me..anyone else have any other ideas? Currently I have used task 29 format, re-flashed to stock rom, and have absolutely nothing installed on the device...but the low res home screen graphics have remained.
sigh..
Seeing how you look like the only person in the world with this issue , I wanted to chime in saying that I have the same problem. I am using a Telstra HD2 and have been on Energyrom for a long time. I tried the same steps you did... I even flashed the stock Telstra ROM from storage card- which theoretically should blow everything away but I still saw the same issue. Since this was the old Telstra ROM, I was shocked. Then, I reflashed HSPL, and new roms, but to no avail. Hope someone at least recognizes the issue and comes up with a solution.
i am on the STOCK Tmo US rom and i have had pixelated fonts from the very start. it bothered me the first day and then i forgot about it until i saw this thread. now it bugs me again
kind of sucks, pixelated fonts on this gorgeous screen.

Yea...I hear ya. I think I might know what the issue is...but I'm not positive yet. I believe nrg did some compression with the graphics on the April 1st rom, to increase performance. While I was using the March 26th build, I had been using hd wall because I wanted to use a nice high-res background that was fully transparent at the very top and bottom portions of the screen. Since I didn't want to go though the trouble of making my own hd wall screens...I had been using pre-made hd wallpaper (.cabs) from here ->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601369
I installed the HQwallpaperpatch, than downloaded the .cab file of the wallpaper I liked along with the original wallpaper. I made sure to set the original picture as my background, than installed the .cab to get the transparent top and bottom portions of my homescreen.
I believe due to the compression that was done in nrg's Apr 1st builds, the hd wallpaper patch/wallpapers were no longer working like they were in the previous builds. So if you would like you could try to revert to a previous build, download hdwallpatch and try one of the .cabs from that link..it may work. When I get the time I will try it myself and post if it worked or not.
I came to this conclusion after I saw my friend's htc hd2 on stock rom. I was very surprised to see that his home screen was a bit pixelated....so I thought to myself...maybe it was because I was using the hdwallpatch and hdwallpaper that I had a crisp high-res home screen. Maybe the home screen was always a bit pixelated and I had just not noticed...
Hope that made sense!

HD2: Not for texting! D:

you'd think HTC would have thought these devices through a little more, yeah? NO.
seeing as how i can't send a text message without a five second delay. i can't receive a text message without my phone freezing for ten. and god forbid i try and view one message while receiving another one, right?
also consider: the 1ghz processor, 16gb harddrive, 1024mb rom (on some devices), and this thing can't go five minutes without a hiccup? what the hell? D:
maybe my phone is just a screwed copy, but **** n' seriously. i just want to be able to have eye candy that operates decently. i thought that's what the HD2 was for, but it was a huge let down for me.
now, until HTC gets their crap in order and creates a better text engine, or someone ports android over to the HD2, guess what guys? we're F&%KED.
so, enlighten me, xda friendlies. are there additional text engines for the HD2? different programs to use, for faster typing and flawless send/receive features? cause until then, i'm inserting my sim card into my iPhone, as much as i hate apple itself with a burning passion, at least it texts somewhat better.
cause seriously, if i can't even stand to use my own phone, what the hell is the point?
intelligent responses only, go take your immaturities somewhere else.
Have you tried a Custom ROM?
At least try the new upgrade
If your not ready for custom ROM (like me) try the upgrade.
Worked for me, resolving apparently (its still early) all of my previous problems with the phone- like yours.
Good luck. I think this is a good machine, just has a few bugs- thats normal.

i've tried Energyrom GTX version. fully updated. and i didn't like it.
it came with a crap load of extras, and i liked that, but the text messaging was back to the version before the HD2, the very same i dealt with on the TP2. didn't like it for some reason.
are there any custom roms that you approve of? if so, please, link me to the page so i can test them out for myself. and thanks in advance.

great machine. too buggy of an OS. not saying others are flawless, but i'd rather not have the only flaws in it related to the major thing i do with the phone. and i have upgraded to the rom that t-moUS release just a week ago. it's still pretty slow for me, considering my fingers move too fast for the keyboard to pick up on. i've already registry edited the lengthymessage thread, making it so the cache is always enabled, and somewhat speeding the system up a little bit when viewing the message itself. but typing is still very slow, and it's driven me up three walls, and back again.
does the text system and keyboard operate faster when SenseUI is disabled, using only the homescreen? cause if so, maybe i can deal with that, too. sense is nice, but not everything.
Try the upgraded ROM. I didnt have that much trouble but it has improved immensely! I can run CHT Again!
Yeah, try the upgrade. I am a major texter, and the new client works perfectly for me.
i have never had an issue with texting on my hd2, i went from the stock shiped to the upgraded 2.13 and never had an issue, now using elegancia 8.5 and still no issues.

i'm gonna check that ROM out tomorrow, and get back to you if it helps me. but tell me, do you kno the difference between the "htc messaging" and "non-htc messaging" versions? which one is gonna be faster whith sending and receiving, as well as typing? please, and thank you very much, you guys.
just saying..
THANK YOU, YOU GUYS!
i know i'm not the only poor guy out there suffering from bad HD2 messaging. so this is helping more than just me. =]

On the first page of the thread he offers addon cabs. One of the cabs is original HD2 messenger which works perfect.

alright, i will check the energyrom page again and investigate. but if i go with energyrom, i would choose the second version which has the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. hopefully this, as well, has the messenger that i need.
i would just divert back to 2.10 which you can get from xmoo's stock ROM thread. 2.13 had me to the point where i wanted to throw my phone at the wall. its incredibly easy to downgrade. an although i gotta be deleting txt after every 20 from a contact.. id rather deal with that then have an extremey slow freezing 2.13 messaging app. i agree with you that its shameful that such a hardware capable phone has such a ****ty messaging app

thank you for seeing this as well, my friend. but keep in mind. i'm a texter. i like keeping my messages. i have a 516 message chain with my girlfriend. and i eventually clear them out, but not willingly. i shouldn't have to clean out my text messages to make my phone operate smoothly. so a good suggestion, but not for me. thanks =]

okay so, i tried out the energyrom with cookie's hometab, and the rom works quite well. ocassionally freezes and needs a reboot, and i wish they could fix that, but it's in progress, so i'm not gonna complain too much. i downloaded the ADDON text message program he included under the addons and fixes link, and the messaging is soo much more fluid. no delays, doesn't matter how many messages i have, and i like it. it's missing the spell check feature, which i liked alot, but i can just be more careful with my spelling, and it'll work for now.
but i have yet another problem! when i receive a mms, the message comes in suuuper small, and it's not the picture either. i would fwd a 260kb photo to myself, and it'll come in at 5kb. not cool, i need that fixed. and also, the mms messaging says the limit is 300K. why is that? i thought t-mobile upped the mms size to 1024K i need that fixed, too. so if anyone has some good intel, please, comment this thread and help us all out!
THANK YOU GUYS!
Yup ROM upgrade 2.13 fixed my texting lag issues.

Confirmed for "suuuper small" pic fix for Energy ROMS. Cab provided below.
Page 32, post 313. Link to page in Energy thread
I text using the phone key pad.. I know most of you think im nuts, but give me a phone with actuall keys and I will out type and spell all of you who use a query or full keboard, i cant stand those two types, anyway stock ROM the typing was awesome I could type almost as fast as on a button phone.
Did the rom update last night, now i have to go at half speed, its terrible.
Phone buttons cant keep up, or will lock up.
If your that heavy into texting get one for the HTC Messaging disabled roms. I run Kumars premium V2.0 and I have had it on there for almost a month now with no issues and no texts deleted which means i have over 2000 on the device and it doesn't freeze

The Energy roms do not come with the HTC messenger, he added it because he wanted. I couldn't agree with you more about using the windows messenger. It works great when you get it threaded. (start>settings>systems>sms threading)
