Hi,
I installed Sygic McGuider (GPS) on my HTC Snap. It worked great!
I had to do a hard reset, and since that time my keyboard in McGuider does not work any more ......
Suggestions on this ? The version of McGuider is 100% the same as before ....
try turning off the T9. Not sure why, but when this is on you cant type...

I have tried sip change but I can't get phone pad to work on the trinity.
It has worked a couple of times and when it does it is great. As other members have said it is more likely to work if you go from keyboard to transcriber and then to phone pad. When I installed spb diary it stopped working completely and so did calligrapher, which had been working fine. I have now remved the spb diary today screen plug in and calligrapher has started working but whatever I try I can't get phone pad to work ever .

but id definitely doesn't for me.
It seems like the problem is a combo of OS, additional software (definitely spb diary) and maybe other factors
Does anyone have any ideas or a suggestion for a different T9 input program (not tengo!)?

Mine works too, phonepad international
I've changed some values in the registry and set in as default

I have the same problem. Works fine for a while, then it refuses to switch to the phone pad unless i soft reset, it just keeps reverting back to the keyboard.
I havent tried setting the default SIP, as I want the keyboard to be the default SIP, i just use the phonepad for text messages.
I haven't figured out if its clashing with any of the other software I have installed, (I have so many). Its annoying me though!
I have a similar problem...i can see the option of phonepad in the sip menu, but whenever I choose it it switchs back to keyboard...in fact I've never been able to get it to work.
Someone had me download a program called sipchange and its an app that makes it so you can change the preferred sip but even then it still goes back to keyboard...
Here is what I'm thinking could be a problem...
Right now, I have smart dial (since this is an HTC phone) but other than that, I don't have a keypad with numbers on it...so maybe I need a file somewhere with a pic of the keypad (1-0 a-z)
Does that make any sense?

It works fine in english but in german the phonepad does not appear!?!?
I click on phonepad and then the normal keyboard does appear...
When i switch back to english the phonepad comes up correctly...
Please help!! Without phonepad writing sms is terrible ;-)
Solution Found
I have a solution and it works for me...
1)Switch off any devices like WiFi, Bluetooth, and for the moment disable any start-up applications (from starting) - To minimize system memory usage
I have done it with SPB Pocket Plus. It can disable any start-up application becuase it starts in "safe-mode"...
2)Remove CF and SD storage cards - There have been some bugs reported for storage cards where they may drain system resources if too many applications are loaded on the cards.
3)Select the default keyboard as the default input method - To temporarily prevent other input methods from being the default method
4)Soft reset the device
5)Open an application like Notes/Word
6)Select Phone Pade as the input method by clicking on the screen's bottom right icon's arrow and selecting Phone Pad from the list of available input options.
7)You should be able to use Phone Pad in all other applications as well as switching on WiFi and the start-up applications.
For me works fine, after soft reset !!!
Please try this solution.... and give us feedback!!

Same pb with Tengo Xrgonomics and and SPB Full Screen
I've experienced the same pb Chrisonline . Sometimes these apps work fine and some other times i only have default Keyboard. Soft Reset is a solution (with or without start up applications) but it not last long . Pb come back after few times... Does your solution last in time or do you have to do a soft reset time to time ?

After this solution the phonepad is always active....
But after a 2nd softreset the phonepad is gone and the keyboard shows up...
Then i must do the solution written above and the phonepad is active again...
Very strange, but a workaround...
I have the same problem with the TENGO-Keyboard...
I think this is a problem with the wm5 and not with the software!??!
Hi guys today I wanted to change the keyboard type...but by tapping the little arrow on the right of the keyboard icon and changing the keyboard by setting the keyboard remain the same....I can't change the keyboard....

Same problem here, what apps have you installed? Maybe we can find something causing the issue. I have throttle lock, pocket scrobbler, and skype. I've performed several soft resets, but am still unable to change from the standard winmo keyboard to the full or compact qwerty, or any others for that matter.

Hey, i've got the same problem. I'm running Touch IT 4.5 from itje. Somebody got a solution for this?
Same "problem" here, though I can always write on the hardware keyboard no matter if SIP is deployed or not. What I do is pressing the Symbolpad-Key on the Hardwarekeyboard once (If Smybolpad is being displayed) or twice( If other input method is activated). That makes it disappear and I can go on typing. It is furthermore possible to disabled auto-deploy with Advanced Config, but NOT FOR OPERA, I found. How do you do this?

A few programmes like Compass and NavPanel default to Co-Pilot but I have IGO and will not buy/use Co-Pilot.
Anyone know easy wayt to change defaults?
