USB and Bluetooth problems - Touch Cruise 2 General

Hi.
I'm using the Ioilite's ability to act as "removable drive" with my car's radio. My radio (Alpine CDE 104 BTI) has a USB port and i can connect the phone to play MP3s stored on the storage card. This works well.
But the radio also has the ability to be used as hands free. When I now connect to the radio via Bluetooth, I can not get any data from the sd-card any more, or the playback is very choppy. It takes for about 1-2 Minutes until it playback has recovered. This also occurs when i do a call. After I hang up and playback continues it is choppy again...
Any Idea why bluetooth is reducing the USB performance?
Thanks
Thomas

Problem you described might be divided into more parts.
At first, when you connect Iolite as removable drive, you cannot access SD card from device. This is common behaviour and you cannot do anything with that.
Secondly, it might be problem on side of your car radio. Maybe it cannot handle playing from USB and serve as BT handsfree at once. Did you try to play some music from USB flash and use BT handsfree at the same time?

Yes, I already tried that. With an usb flash it works without any problems...
Hmm. Will have to live with that....
Thanks anyway...

I finally figured out where those performance problems are coming from.
I had a large list of recent calls which were synchronised with the car radio every time the Iolite connected. So this put down the performance. When I deleted the recent calls list, it worked without any lags.
Just if somone else has those problems...

Bluetooth issues with Sennheiser MM200

Bluetooth works on my Vodafone HTC Magic, but it's a fiddly pain in the arse. Process seems to go something like:
1. Turn on headset
2. Headset connects for phone audio only (music still plays on phone speakers)
3. Go into bluetooth settings, disconnect headset (if it isn't stuck, in which case exit and re-enter settings, or if that doesn't work boot the phone).
4. Re-connect headset (from within settings), which now connects for phone and media audio.
5. Play music, which then often skips for half a second or so about once a minute. If it skips constantly, jump to the next track which usually solves that.
The skipping doesn't always happen, but it does seem to happen regardless of whether I'm at home, work or in a tube station, and whether I've got the phone in my pocket or held up near the headset.
The quality's not bad apart from the skipping, and usually it doesn't skip enough to be truly annoying, but it's still a little disappointing from a £350 phone and a £90 headset.
So, I had the exact same problem, and I may still have it. I have now rooted my phone and applied the sapphire 6.0 update. I'm listening to music right now and it's working fine now with no skips. Having said that, however, I found that sometimes it would work flawlessly before as well.
Anyone have another A2DP device that acts similarly? Or is the problem with the magic.
When I connect eh MM200 to my macbook-pro it sometimes refuses to respond to the button pushing and such. Not sure what exactly that indicates.

I've also rooted and updated to 6.0, still got the problem. I think to be honest it actually pauses rather than skips (I caught it pausing for ~2sec once, it's harder to tell with the shorter "skips")... it still does it when there are few other processes running, so I'm not sure what is bothering it. TBH I've not really tried it playing music without the headset to see if it happens anyway!
I've beemn messing with my phone (Magic) all day try to get the bluetooth to connect to my bluetooth usb dongle or my old phone, both of which work fine together and with everything else,
My PC can find the HTC Magic when i put it in to visable mode, but other then that it wont show up and service's for me to use with the phone,
My old phone (Samsung F700v) cant find the HTC Magic at all, altho i did manage to find the F700 on my Magic and pair them that way but still my F700 wont find it anywhere (with visable mode on,)
Am i missing somthing or does the Magic/Sapphire have a very bad Bluetooth flaw,
on a side note i've only had the phone less then a week and its not rooted, is it worth it? and is there a noob guide to the basic's eg. which version does what and what all the cons are?
Thanks
Edit:
guess i just found my answer...

Android does not support any bluetooth services other then "hands free".
This means that you can only use BT headsets.
Android (either G1 or Magic) phones cannot natively send files over BT, cannot use BT a modem, etc...
There is not third party tool so far to send files via BT to other devices.

Bluetooth Streaming Audio from Pandora to Car skipping

unfortunately when i connect bluetooth to my car radio the music skips about every 15 sec. very annoying. Anyone else having the problem.
I have an iphone 3gs that doesnt skip and works great. I love the Evo but bugs are continually showing up.
Its your internet. Try updating your prl.
i did update the prl before i tried it.
still does it.
I have a bluetooth reciever for my AVR and I noticed some skipping as well. Not as frequent as you are saying but if I moved more than 10' away it would be rather bad. The Bluetooth range seems to be poor. In a car I can't imagine you having a problem. I have heard of some issues with factory bluetooth.
I had same problem till I decided to turn off my wifi.. and it started working fine.. it just doesn't have to do with Pandora, its will any Music that you stream over Bluetooth..
Just turn off your wifi and it will work fine.
Thanks
Or just place your phone somewhere else in your car. Bluetooth has very lousy range (isn't it like 10 feet in perfect conditions?), and as such moving it a foot or two somewhere else could make a world of difference.
Its definitely not the internet. I could be at home in wifi with phenominal internet it even laying it off of my SD card. If im in a vehicle or on a bus, its pretty solid and works really well. I walk out the bus and walk around either to m next bus or to work and it fails to play for more than 4 seconds without skipping. And its not like a short, nuisance of a skip. It often stays skipped for up to 3 seconds at a time. Completely unusable. Happens however i connect my phone to any a2dp device. Tried tweaking the /etc/Bluetooth/audio.conference file as suggested in a couple nexus one/s sites, but unfortunately seems to be specific to those phones. This is making me hate this phone. Every other phone I've had in the past two years does this just fine. Whyis it having such a hard time with such a simple task that others have done perfectly? Even other Roms work better but i like also better than sense anyday. Maybe its a kernel issue?. I really want this fixed. But it seems like no one is even trying to work towards a solution. Not on the surface anyway.
Did you try turning off your wifi and any other unneeded services? The only time I have had skipping over bluetooth is when I have my wifi on as well, other than that it streams smoothly through my car stero and computer over bluetooth.

This.
If that doesn't help, then if possible, you should use an aux in cable to prove it's only a bluetooth issue. If it still skips, I'd try a new rom and/or kernel. A2DP performance seems much improved in CM7 compared to Sense roms.. or at least it seems better to me.
I've had the same skipping problem with my bluetooth earphones and evo. The only slight solution that I've had was holding the phone in direct line of site with the bluetooth earphones. When I do that, it doesn't skip as much.
Streaming bluetooth audio to car stereo
Thanks Anku13, your fix works. Just installed a Clarion CZ501 bluetooth receiver in my car, experienced skipping audio every 15 - 30 seconds once my Leo connected/streaming. Killing WiFi was the trick. Love not having an AUX cable lying around in the cabin.

Connect WP7 to Car Stereo via USB

I would like to purchase a new cd head unit for my car and use my Zune Pass on my WP7 to play all my music via USB.
Why USB and not 3.5mm aux cable?
I would like to be able to charge my WP7 device and control volume/play/pause/etc from the car CD head unit rather than my WP7 device
Right now, the only CD head units I know of that are capable of this with Zune devices is 2 head units from Kenwood:
w ww.crutchfield.com/shopsearch/zune.html
Has anyone tried this or have another method to get this to work?
thanks
I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish is doable, and it's unlikely that it will be. The Win7 phones, at this time, don't have a standard Zune connector, which has specific pinouts for different functions, such as, passing audio, charging, basically controlling functions, etc. (much like the pinout on the iPods/iPhone)
Since all of the phones, at this time, have just USB mini/micro connectors, there has to be a driver associated on the receiver/computer/other device that knows how to communicate with the phone, process what you're trying to accomplish, and basically have digital two-way communication.
The more likely way, is to have a bluetooth enabled head deck, that allows two-way control (I'm pretty sure these are out, not sure about the two way), and a separate car charger...
Anyone else have any input that might help?
I have a kenwood BT-900 car stero that suports the zune hd through the USB port
it works awsome
I now have the WP7 and my kenwood does not see the phone at all only thorugh bluetooth but still does not do music streaming like to should
I beleave the will be testing the new phone out but as you know they don't tell me very much, all I know is the 2 of the support reps ordered WP7s and thought it would work fine but in fact it does not
I'm sure they will have some fix soon I'm hoping

thank you for posting this, I was researching to buy that particular kenwood strictly for this reason. you just saved me a couple hundred dollars.
My car is a Peugeot, about 2 years ago i installed an Extension Box so I can use an USB-Stick to listen to my music. (It uses the external CD-Case Port on the Radio.)
The small box also enabled to connect I-Pod and I-Phone and was able to browse & play from them.
When I connect my WP7 it beeps all the time and can't even load the battery.
As I know, the box writes a playlist on any USB drive which is connected so I suppose WP7 simply doesn't allow this =(.
Hopefully this will be changed by some kind of driver.
I have a KDC-BT8041U in my truck. I connect to it via Bluetooth and use a usb charger when needed. I usually just hit the random play button (the two music notes in a circle on main screen) in Zune Music and then I can use the remote or on dash controls of my Kenwood to skip forward and backward through the songs. I can also pause and mute. The only down side is it does not show song title, artist, etc. on the screen of the stereo and I can't search for specific songs using the stereo. But it is still much better sound quality then AUX jack and you wont have to get caught with your phone in your hands while driving. (illegal where I live)
Another cool feature about this is the music fades out when you get an incoming text or call then resumes after your done. Be sure to go to settings, speech and enable speech recognition over the network, then at the bottom turn Read aloud incoming text messages to bluetooth so you can respond to your text messages using your voice. Work really good.
Guys, you are searching unreal things. It's not a Zune player, it a diffirent device at hardware and connectivity too.
Only one way to use our phone in car is a Bluetooth. It work good, as headset and throught A2DP for hearing music and control playback from car hi-fi.

[Q] Bluetooth Question, multi-android build issue

Hey,
I have been playing with Android for a few months, and still not very good at it.
But one thing i noticed, regardless of the Build (think i have so far all used sd card builds, A darkstone v3, then another, now currently on CoreDroid v.8 i think). May have been another one in there.
This is my bluetooth issue.
My new Camaro and all the builds, so far, seem to work nicely kinda;
I can answer the phone from the car or phone. I can make calls, and have it routed thru the car. My bluetooth stereo, ADP2F? (or what ever it is called, for transmitting stereo via bluetooth) works fine on the car, and headsets.
The one thing i consistently notice, if there is not a constant stream of bluetooth data or packets, the car and the phone seem to disconnect. In translation, if i am listening to music etc, the connection is fine.
If i pause music, and just let driving directions transmit using navigation only, the connection probably times out and disconnects. I am forced to continually reconnect...while driving trying to navigate, makes navigation a royal pain in the A*^*.
Is there some setting to prevent time outs or disconnects? is there a patched file to load, to give me a choice to not disconnect a connection automatically?
thanks
I would also be very interested in a response to this!
I'm experiencing a very similar issue. I've also tried many different Android builds/kernels/SD/NAND and even different WINMO Roms and Radios.
Mine is a little bit worse though in that without exception, the bluetooth on the phone will 'break' after 1-2 days - meaning that it will spuriously drop a connection and will no longer function after that, i.e. will make a connection but will drop it less than 30 seconds later.
The only way I have found to fix it is to reinstall the android build.

Phone crash w/ bluetooth - albinoman887 4.3 ROM (8/24/13)

I flashed albinoman887's 4.3 ROM (8/24/13) - wiped everything except SD card.
When phone is locked, trying to connect to my car bluetooth radio w/ A2DP+Phone and unlock the phone, phone crashes hard. (Repeatable)
Result: Phone reboots and reboot will lead to "SIM card found - Restart" which will make reboot again.
For the time being, I have unpaired my car radio with the phone which does not crash phone.
This does not happen with bluetooth headphone w/o A2DP.
This is separate from missing a call/no voicemail/signal drop issue.
I am not sure A2DP is causing this crash or A2DP+Phone is.
Please someone test with bluetooth speaker A2DP profile.
I think it would be better if you posted in his thread or is that no allowed because you dont have enough posts?
-
Also, 4.3 is unstable so its alright if it does crash.
I can not post on the thread because I don't have enough posts, yet.
If possible, could you please post for me ?
Thanks,

I have the 8/24 build and it works just fine with stereo music audio over my Subaru Forester's "Blueconnect" bluetooth (although I am not sure if that is full A2DP). No crashes, reboots, or drops, and phone calls reliably suspend the music stream and resume it at the suspension point after the call ends.
