Where does HTC posts new ROM updates to HTC TyTN

Is there a web site/FTP where HTC posts upgrade ROMs for TyTN?
Well, I don´t know if HTC phones are already available under their own brand, but since they bought Qtek and Dopod...probably will be in the future, here:

French Shift is available !

http://www.expansys.fr/d.aspx?i=154231&partner=FRADWORDS&gclid=CLj0xI30o5ACFQxjMAodq3Gbog
Now I am worried. How does it come that the French version is already available when the UK/US one is not ?
Could it be that the UK version has been postponed to get rom "fixed" (GPS, phone, etc.) before shipping when the French version, for a lot smaller market would go as it is ?
Also, I don't understand the 10 GB difference between the French and the UK version...
I decided to postpone a bit my move towards the French Shift until I have a better understanding of what's going on. If you have any info, please share as the Shift is my dream puter (once it will be ROM cooked of course ).
DON'T count what expansys said there
i only believe this http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=151160 its the central

mmh..the shift should be at 1199€ (it's the price for every belgian stores)... I will never buy it there .. I have asked to one of the official belgian retailer and they told me that it was not in stock in the belgian importer... I hope they'll be out soon.
I want to buy it... and I can't wait anymore for this...

When will Windows 6.5 upgrade be available?

Hi guys,
Anybody has any news about the ROM upgrade for our topaz? It's 6th of October here in Malaysia but so far, no news. I heard Windows Marketplace is opened! I have checked the Taiwan website but yet still no news. I know Orange UK has announced that their ROM will be available only on the 12th.
Anyone has any other news?
I am looking for that answer too.
I sent an email to HTC asking about it. So far no news.
It is 15.57 here in Sydney.
I'm waiting aswell. I want to try out a official release from HTC. But I'll probably stick with the coocked roms seeing that a lot of the wm 6.5 phones here in the US are shipping with the old touchflo3D.
Can I ask a question guys....if I install the official ROM that comes out later do I still have to HardSPL it?
If you are still on the stock ROM and have not HSPL's then technically no you do not have to HSPL. As long as HTC posts an update for your phones original country of origin on the tech area of that countries site than you're good to go.
If the serial does not work you might consider HSPLing your phone and using the official rom when someone uploads it in the ROM development section. Doing a HSPL is quick and painless. Cooked Roms rule.
Ok this is what I got.
"Thank you for contacting HTC Service Support. Regarding your inquiry, much as we would like to provide you with the information unfortunately we still do not have the details yet. No information has been provided to when will the WM 6.5 upgrade for HTC Touch Diamond 2 be available. However if there will be any, it will be for free and can be downloaded form the HTC site. For now we really can’t tell since before upgrade is being provided, our technical department has to do series of tests and research first. Also any upgrades for a particular handset model are based on the demand of the Telecom Provider."
So, I guess we have to wait.
The upgrade for German Vodafone devices are on the support page of HTC Germany if anyone is looking for it.
Can't be like that
HTC have had months to get this into place so I find it hard to believe that we will not get the updates today. If that is the case then HTC have done very poorly in that case. Whilst other phones are coming with 6.5 I cannot see why the Diamond 2 shouldn't have an update on the day of release.
Updating your phone to Windows Mobile 6.5

Your link didnt work!
Works fine for me but no mention of TD2, just 3 other HTC.
No phones have dates listed yet.
John
Just had an email from HTC and I quote... "we are awaiting confirmation from the software manufacture if the handset will receive an approved license or not"... I have a question.. why did HTC promise a wm6.5 upgrade if they are unsure if they can do it?!
I don't realy know if that is the problem. If you go to the Hong Kong windows phone webpage you will see that microsoft itself is promoting the upgrade.
So I can't see any reason why of why it is not out yet. Maybe they want to release it toguther with the American market. It is very early in the morning there yet.
I just checked on the Polish HTC site, but it looks like they do not know about that fact, that the upgrade should be today.
What is even better the customer service line number in Poland - when dialled - tells me "There is no such number!!"
This, I think, is outrageous & the HTC headquarters' guys should think with whom they cooperate in my beautiful country !!!!!!!
B-R-A-V-I-S-S-I-M-O HTC - worse can you not serve !!!

Polish 6.5 upgrade will be available on this page: http://sunnysoft.com/htc/
I don't get how there was a Vodafone branded 6.5 ROM listed on the German HTC site on the 4th and everyone else (who paid top dollar) with a network free phone has to wait indefinately for the official ROM......and I thought HTC were improving their customer support

Upgrade or localisation ??
There is not even TD2 showed on this site & they redirect to HTC site.
That is what annoys me.. that we paid for our phones.. yet they have NO clue about what is going on with Windows Mobile 6.5! I should really buy out that firm and organise them properly!

Samsung Omnia II rom running on HTC HD2

Is it possible to run the Samsung Omnia II rom on the HTC HD2. I see a lot of posts that the Omnia runs the HD2 rom but is it possible to run the Omnia rom on a HD2.
It's impossible to run OmniaII ROM on HD2 and vice versa, but is possible to cook EXT packages from OmniaII to HD2 and vice versa.

Most probably, the power of HD2 would improve the O2 system quite nicely.
I doubt that any cook would make such an attempt... but who knows.
A mix between Samsung´s WinMo mods and Manila could be quite interesting...

A port of the new Omnia II touch player would be great (and not to forget, dutch language for Swype.... )
Is there a dump somewhere of the omnia II rom?
Over at modaco, there are quite a few ROM dumps available, I think.
However, I don´t know if Swype is on European devices, though - at least, it is not on the latest "official" ROM version, as far as I can see.
Some of the apps are available as cab, but they don´t run on an HD2, only with a few exceptions (such as Power Calculator).

Legend on Vodafone and Vodafone 360

Hello all
I'm looking to get a Legend on Vodafone but can see that you get Vodafone 360 pre-installed. I was wondering if this interfere's with the phone and / or apps or whether you can basically ignore or uninstall it to get a "pure" android experience.
Cheers
K
Well, I myself just got the Legend on Vodafone and can safely say... no, the Vodafone interference is minimal, like... 2 widgets installed on the default scene. But HTC have provided their own scene which is identical, but removes those 2 widgets.
I basically just ignore the 360 stuff.
Probably a stupid question, but isnt it possible to just flash a official htc rom to the legend to remove all the vodafone stuff? Or doesnt it work this way with android? (still on WM)
I will also be getting a Legend from Vodafone and I defenitly do not want all the extra crap providers put in.
Btw, can you remove those 2 widgets from vodafone?
Cheers dlau77, I went ahead and bought one and, as you say, you select the HTC Scene and you've got a pretty Vanilla Android phone. Perfect.
