Is it possible to enter saved passwords automatically in Opera Browser / PIE? - XPERIA X1 General

I can't afford 3G yet, I go to a school in which we all get free wi-fi access. The problem is that logging on the network is so tedious. Every time I access the network I have to input the password within the web browser, and my browser for some reason sometimes doesn't remember the password or sometimes does not display the password page correctly, and therefore it is troublesome to enter my school's wi-fi network.
Is there a program that will do the work for me?

OperaMobile supports password managament on websites exactly this way.
Should be enabled in settings.

No it doesn't. I need it to press enter for me automatically because the page does not view correctly sometimes and it prevents me from pressing OK/ENTER.

Where are the WIFI settings held??

I wish to know -- where are the WIFI settings held-(I do a lot of tweaking for my HD and sometimes I mess it up, but the guy who knows wifi password of my place, lives in Garkalne, Im in Adazi ( about 10 km difference)--my wifi goes only about 20m )
So I need to backup my wifi settings or atleast the password -- where is the password held -- in registry, windows, anywere --- just name it and how to get there!!??
well access your wireless router with the provided ip address.
i think it may be 192.168.1.1 and you will easily see it around wireless security.

Sorry -- I didnt understand that --- can you give me a step by step
My wifi network is password protected it has two networks 1.- provides internet, password protected.;;;;; 2.- doesnt provide internet, not password protected, Its for those cases when he forgets the password for the 1st network so he can bypass it and go straight to the internet-- I dont know how he does it
Im still learning English
The security information is stored within your WIFI router.
As to how to access and maintain it, it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. I have five different ADSL modem/router in the past few years and all of them has different way of getting into the configuraiton menu. Some needs me to type in 10.1.1.1, the others uses different address. You need to refer to your user manual for your equipment (if you can't find it , make a call to your ISP's support center, and they will definitely be able to tell you).
Once you're in the configuration menu. navigating to the place where the security setting is kept again differ in each case, and again you should read your user manual to find out, or call up your ISP's support centre for help.

It's in Start/setting/connection/WIFI/Advance.
The Main tab lets you change which WIFI network you want to connect to. When you click on change network, you can pick whichever one that shows as available. Once you click on it, if that access points requires Authentication, by clicking the next button you will specify all the details such as network key, etc.
Hope this is what you're looking for.
The power mode tab lets you specify if you want more performance or battery life
----> when I enter the password for the wifi network-- I wish to know where my THD saves the password----the guy who knows wifi password doesnt give it to me so I want to find it on my device---where is it saved on blackstone
Ok i think everyone is confused now.
Please explain in detail what you want to do again.
He doesn't know the wifi password to "his" network because the guy who knows the password won't give it to him.
He's asking if a plaintext version of the password is saved in the Touch HD somewhere for "his" network.
I find it a little sus that he doesn't know the password for "his" own network, or that the person who set it up won't give him the password, so he's trying to find it this way.

Can't login on websites with HTC browser

Hi,
I have a "weird" problem with my HTC Hero: whenever I try to login on a webpage (e.g. a forum or the website of my university), it doesn't work...
So: on the website I tap on "Log in". The browser takes me to another site where I enter my username and password. But after tapping the "Login" or I tap "Enter", the browser redirects me to the previous login website, where I have to press again "Log in" and re-enter my details...This happens every time... It doesn't make "the click" to direct me to the site I get when the login works... My username and password are 100 % correct...
When i try it with Opera Mini, it DOES work...
Is it some kind of setting or ... ? I have enabled the browser to store my usernames and passwords I enter...
Thanks in advance !
Hmmm... anyone?
I have this problem with capital one's website.. I would like to know a fix as well.

Luna,
can't help you but I can share your problem. It happens to me too.
You are not at Manchester Uni are you?
I've tried a few websites that I use where login details are required i.e. forums, banks, email etc and it works fine for me.
Just out of curiosity, do you zoom in on the web page login area so that the 'Login' button is larger and can be selected easier? I always do that and never seem to have the problem you're experiencing.
@cbailey: no, I live in Belgium, so ..
@thecastleforkid: I just tried your method (zooming in on "Log In"), but it din"t work...
Like when I try to login in on a forum, for example www.9lives.be/forum (a belgian website), i try to login... so i click on the login button... the site redirects me to : www.9lives.be/login... I enter my details... the site SHOULD go back to www.9lives.be/forum, but in stead it goes to www.9lives.be/login/login......
and this happens with other websites also...
In Opera mini everything works fine (but i prefer the Hero browser with the multitouch...)
Very strange...
Hello.
I had the same issue with the french provider Orange.
So this is what I did to fix it, I don't know if it'll be the same for you :
Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Network Settings > Access Point Name
And I changed Orange World to Orange Internet.
The thing is you can't establish any secured connections (https) with some APNs apparently (I don't know the technicals details, sorry if I'm wrong in the explanations), so just try to change it.

Hi!
thanks for the tip, but I use Mobile Vikings... so I don't know what to change..
also: with opera mini it works fine.. and that's also on Mobile Vikings (obviously...).. so I guess it has to do with the browser of the Hero instead of my APN...
Correct me if I'm wrong
greets
Try to connect your websites over wifi and you'll be fixed.
If it doesn't work on wifi with hero's browser it's not your apn.
Well... I've tried that method (connecting through wifi) before... it didn't work... tried it again now... didn't work...
Man, it's getting annoying (not a lot of other complaints on the Hero though...)
Thanks for the tip anyway !
greets
I do think it has something to do with the security settings on the native browser. I try to login to my work intrAnet via the native browser and many times it goes straight into a password violation lockout because the network thinks I am trying to hack into it. ANyway, I have had your same problem. Guess for those certain sites you are just gonna have to use Opera Mini or something similar.
It's really weird I guess I can't help you sorry :/
Did you check if htc hero's browser accept the cookies in the settings ?

N1 VPN remember password option - NOT AVAIVABLE

N1 VPN remember password option - NOT AVAIVABLE
Any way to get around it?
I have to enter VPN password every time when I need to reconnect,
and there is no option to save password.
if you go to code google, Issue 4369, that issue is discussed, and it's hopeless!
any other way? anything at all?
Thank you.
really?! no solution?
Its more than likely a security measure.
If your phone ever got stolen, they would be able to VPN into your work network as well.
so there is no way? I mean editing source code? is it really hard?
no one else cares?
you should be able to set a master password that you have to enter whenever using a VPN, therefore you can store all the complex passwords on the N1 and just enter one master password when you need to connect.
major pain in the ass my vpn password is long.. need to have an option to save..

I have also experienced the problem with youtube. It usually goes away after restarting the phone. Also for the secured wireless network at school try to manually add it by pressing other in the WI-FI settings on your kin.

I have tried that. I have also tried messing around with the types of networks (wpeg and wpeg2 or somthing) but none of them give me a username and password box. Ive also found out that itouch users gotta plug in a port number too, is it possible to use the hidden menu to connect to this network?
Also, restarting my phone didnt solve the problem of no youtube on home wifi. It doesnt even buffer...

Lollipop Wifi Issue with Open Networks (screenshots included)

At work, I sign-on to the open wifi here. With KitKat, I would get a notification that there is an open network. I would then click on the notification which would open a browser window saying something about network security, do you still want to proceed. I would proceed, accept the IT dept. disclaimer and then be signed on to the wifi.
With Lollipop, I click on the notification which brings me to the screen in "Screenshot1.png" below. It brings me to a blank screen so I click on the setting button on the screen which is what you see on the screenshot. I then click on "Use this network as is" but it does not sign me onto wifi. Once I close out of the window, I get the same wifi notification again (Screenshot2.png).
So my question is, how do I sign-on to the wifi? I noticed the old notification would take me to a browser window where the new notification takes me to a non-browser sign-in window.
Bumping to see if anyone has any thoughts on this. I cant' be the only one having this issue.
Yes exactly the same issue here.
We use a captive portal sign in page and then a ssl web page for authentication through to the web.
Found http://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus5/comments/2mkh95/ on reddit relating to this issue.
To sign-on you have to do the following (credit reddit):
1. tap sign in to Wi-Fi
2. press the three dots
3. choose you network as is
4. open chrome and go to any website that will redirect you to sign in page
5. sign in
While this is working for me, its a drag to go thru all that. Further more, I'm finding that if I'm not quick enough between steps 3 and 4, I get the open wifi notification again and have to start the process all over again.

Maybe bookmark the login page and place it on your home screen, turn off open networks notification and save the network so you automatically connect? You'll have some time without a working connection, but as soon as you notice, just tap the bookmark shortcut - Would that work?

Thanks for the tip. I'd like to try this. If I turn off open network notifications, how will I sign-on? I believe I HAVE to go thru the sign-on window shown in screenshot 1 of my first post before I can open up the browser. And in order to do that, I have to get the notification to get to the sign-in page.

The only open networks I've ever used, didn't need other sign on, than the login website that I got redirected to. So I think you can just let the phone connect, and then at any time open a browser. I even think the phone might give a notification when it discovers that there's a login-page blocking internet access?

Unfortunately I have to go thru the "Android" sign-on page and click "use network as is" before I can get to the browser to the sign-on page. This is in spite of having the wifi connection saved. If I try to just open the browser and get to the sign-on page once I get notification of the wifi network, it uses mobile data instead and does not take me to the sign-on page. That said, adding a bookmark shortcut was a good tip and has helped shorten the process up a bit.

Wow, that Lollipop behavior sounds sucky
Hopefully that's one of the things that will be ironed out with future updates!
I'm having this issue with my Moto X 2014 trying to login to my works wifi.
The main difference is when I try to use Chrome to sign into the network (once I'm connected to it through Wifi) I get a Page saying that 'Your connection is not private' it then goes on to say that people might be trying to steal information from google and basically complains that the certificate is invalid. No matter what I click on (even the Advanced tab) I can't continue.
However with my Samsung Tab S if I connect to the exact same network and also use Chrome to login I get the same error message yet if I click the Advanced tab I then can see an option to continue regardless (or words to that effect). Once I click that its fine. Yet this option is missing on my phone, almost as if the mobile version of chrome is clipping the web page so you can't see it. I'm going to install Firefox and give it a try (when I can connect to a wifi network).
As an update. I installed Firefox and again tried login into the network by going to Google homepage, again I got a similar message saying that the connection was unsecure and the certificate was invalid, again I couldn't continue. However I decided to try and go to a different URL and again I got the same message but this time I had an option to continue even though I knew the risks. This I did and then was prevented with my companies WiFi login page, after I entered my details it worked fine. I could also use Chrome browser without any issues.
SO if anyone else is having this problem, install Firefox and then go to any website other than google. Then hopefully you'll be able continue and login to your works unsecure WiFi.
