Blackstone Front Light/Led - Touch HD General

Hello every B,
i would like your feedback to know if your Front-top Led/Light is working?
The Led/Light just near the Top-speaker phone.
because i don't see this Light Flashing.
Thank for your Fdbck.

What LED? The only LED on the device is in the power button.
In the front top, right of the speaker it's the secondary camera.

There is no light on the front as far as im aware.
The small clear plastic next to the speaker is the light sensor i believe.

ahh
this would be the light sensor?

Obviously not!! The number of repeat questions on these forums prove that people don't abide by the rules and check first.

Regarding to the "Getting Started" we ALL recieved with our HD it IS the Light-Sensor
see Page 25 => http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC_Touch_HD_User_Manual_English.pdf

have we all established its the light sensor????

Light Reflection/leakage

Sorry to repeat but awaiting an answer, when charging, the amber light comes on and stays solid, just above where the top of screen meets the metal frame there appears either a reflection of this amber light or if its not a reflection then a bit of light is seeping through the top of the phone which must mean its not sealed properly, can anyone identify with this? I have just bought this and am trying to ascertain if the top of the phone has a bit of this amber light coming through or is it just a reflection light bouncing off the metal frame? Anybody who has this would know what i mean, please assist?

When connected to Bluetooth, should there not be a blue light either on or flashing, on my Topaz, the left hand to the top speaker is the charging orange light but i thought the other side lit blue when bluetooth is activated apparently the other side is just a sensor and does not light up at all, IS THIS CORRECT? or does my phone have a fault? It is brand new and came loaded with 6.5, appreciate any help?

At the top of the phone you have what i thought were 2 lights, the left turning amber when charging and green when fully charged, when the phone is on normal standby i thought it flashed periodically, does it cos mine does not? secondly the other side which is a 'light sensor' but i thought this went blue when bluetooth was activated, again mine does not, my phone is Brand new with 6.5 preinstalled, is my phone faulty? i am sure on previous HTC models the right side was a 'blue light' so to clarify when my phone is in normal 'standby' there are NO lights, the only lights are on the left side which go amber when charging and solid green when fully charged and flashes green when there is a missed call or sms, the right side appears just to be a 'sensor' Is this all correct.
Any clarification will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
When charging, the amber light comes on and just above that where the top of the screen meets the metal frame there appears to be a leakage of light giving the impression the phone is not sealed properly or i cant work out if its a reflection of the amber lite hitting the metal frame, i pulled out the plug and had a close look under sunlight and i could not see any miniscule gap but it is a bit weird, just wondered if anyone else identifies, if not then there must be a tiny gap and the top of the phone cant be sealed properly, i have only had it 2 days and its BNIB.
Feedback appreciated
Thanks

Try to read and to search. Don't spend your time in this sort of PM's.
@GD:
Although I fully agree with koen-ronse (I've read all your posts, I'm asking why you're staying here if all custom ROMs are rubbish?!), you'll get an answer from me to prevent a 5th post with same rubbish question (you could easily find out the answer by yourself which would have taken half a time than posting the same question again and again):
1. The one on the left is a light. It works, if you you can see it!!!
2. On the right is a light sensor. A sensor is a sensor, not a light!!!
3. BT and WiFi don't use light if active!!! Other HTC models do so, TD2 not.
Your TD2 is fine, everything works as wanted by HTC, have a nice day.
take the trouble to read my question
I will try one last time as it appears i am wasting my time, WHEN THE AMBER LIGHT IS ON (CHARGING) THERE IS A REFLECTION JUST ABOVE IT ON THE METAL FRAME GIVING THE IMPRESSION THE LIGHT IS LEAKING THROUGH AT THE TOP WHICH WILL BE ONE OF 2 THINGS, EITHER THERE IS A REFLECTION OR THE TOP OF THE PHONE IS NOT SEALED, NOW IF ANYONE SAYS' I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN' THAT WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO REALISE THERE IS A FAULT BECAUSE IF IT WAS COMMON THEN ANOTHER OWNER WOULD KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT
And it is necessairy to open 4 new threads for that???
There's an edit-function, when your text is readable and shorten I'll try to answer
And stop sending me PM's. Act normal.

There is nothing wrong with your device. It's the LED shining underneath the thin black black frame. You can also see it under the frame at the top of the screen. Blame it on poor design.
Thats exactly where the light is, under the frame at the top of the screen so it is it a reflection and not a tiny gap? Thank you at last, you are the first person who has had the decency to answer my question

Trackball breathing light while in call

The trackball light flashes when the screen go out while in call because of the proximity sensor.
is there a way to stop that? It is really bothersome, specially when you're in a dark place.
Yer I hate it 2.....
Please someone fix this

tell the person to hold and clear your notifications?
you don't have to clear them, just drag down the status bar.
this is the only way I can think of.

you shouldn't have to do that is what we are saying its silly
just want a way to turn it off for good...
waste of batt
It's an led light, it uses as much battery as a static shock from the a carpet drag.
Hey...anything to set the Nexus One uniquely apart from any other smartphone is fine by me...breathing LED trackball light and all.
How often are you in a dark place exactly? People are entitled to their opinions of course, but something that barely isn't even noticeable when the phone is up to your ear doesn't exactly seem worth wanting to remove. As said before, the excuse it uses battery won't exactly work as well..

2 LED lights?

Is it just me or does the samsung vibrant look like it has 2 LED lights just a lil to the left of the ear piece?? if in fact those are led lights, why are they not used?!
maybe im just crazy....
They are sensors, check out the stickie here.

I know it takes some time to look around and find it, but somewhere in this forum somebody explains what those led-like things are... nothing but some sensors...
Proximity sensors and light sensor.
Not sent from my Vibrant using XDA App 'cause I returned it.

I have a question, what is an ambient light sensor? What does it do/used for?
Please refrain from saying something like "it's a sensor for the light."

It sensors the ambient illumination.

This is needed so that android can auto-adjust the brightness of the backlight, so when you are indoors the brightness is reduced and when you are outside it is increased.

which means? What is ambient illumination? From what I understand, ambient light sensor is only used for a specific setting, that setting being "automatically adjust backlight." By using this setting, the ambient light sensor will detect how much light is currently being reflected onto the screen to optimize the backlight. Is this somewhat correct?
Jason, that's exactly correct.
i have a question: how is the light sensor related to the proximity sensor ?
because i tought the proximity sensor also works with light, i guess i was wrong there ?
I thought it already had it in the settings for backlight control, or is that something else?

There's a password on it cause the Dev's aren't finished testing it yet. We'll get it when it's ready. Patience young ones.

Is pretty much spot on, as far as i know.
Detects how much light is on the screen and dims/brightens accordingly. Which can be a huge battery saver since, when indoors (most of the time) it dims it to minimum.
edit: Jesus you guys are fast....
The first thing I do is turn off automatic brightness anyway so this isn't something I'd use.

Upper left corner of the phone....

Is that a front facing camera? Next to the speaker it seems that there is a camera there yet the US version of this phone claims to have removed it. So what is that thing?

Ohhh, nice. Thanks for the quick answer.
The carriage for the ffc is in the upper right corner actually. There is a blank space in the frame that one can be installed in, (check the developement thread or search for ffc mod, its possible) its an involved process, where you do get to know your phone very intimately.
Ginger Clone's of the World Unite! Via the XDA App
they totally couldve put an LED indicator there instead.. i rather have that than an ambient light sensor

When I first got the phone I noticed that thing in the upper left and initially thought it was a LED indicator. I totally agree that it should have been.
