HTC MAGIC "Exchange Server fail" - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hello
I get this error every time I want to sync with a TDC Exchange Server 2003.
"failed to create the account. please try later"
Have any of you who have encountered along Error?
It must be said that my HTC HD and HTC diamond running perfect.
Hope there is someone who can help because I use very particular calendar component through my work.
I've tried 3 other exchange mail programs, but they do not log on .
Thank you in advance
Tom
Denmark

i got the same error - the magic does not support the mandated pin security policy my company enforces so it could not finish the account setup.
i ended up using Touchdown to sync with exchange for email and pim.
regards - John

hmm yah very dissapointed when i realised that it does not support the pin security policy...which i think most company will be using..is there a workaround for this? i still like the default mail interface rather than touchdown..

Tried Roadsync ?
Hi everyone
Like you I was a little p$$$ off when I couldnt sync with Exchange and touchdown didnt work for me but I like roadsync...and it works like a charm.

With each account you can have an alias setup so that your recipents see your email address as anything you like! Also, please give me at least 24 hours to set this up as it is a free service and I do have a job/life. Thanks!
Lastly, I did have this posted in the Wizard forum, but most people don't read both forums and I have more accounts that I can support, hence posting it here as well.
Also, if you want to let me know about something, please repond in the thread, only e-mail / PM your account information.
Hi
I think Im the first to reply, so firstly can I say thanks!
A couple of questions . .
What version of Exchange is this? Any HTML mail support?
How or where do I install the certificate you sent me? I have a mail2web account but that didnt require much setting up but no Outlook access either!
Thanks

It is Exchange 2003. Easiest way to install the certificate is put it on your phone, then tap it. It will run and install itself. Once you do that, just enter your info into Active Sync, easy peezie! The outlook access by itself can be tricky which is why I gave you the link to that tutorial showing you how to set it up. Hope this helps.
Sent you a pm . . .

Ok, Im now up and running on both my Tytn and Outlook 2003.
So far everything seems to be working just as it should and my initial impression is that its quicker than mail2web. The original sync of contacts and calendar etc seemed to take aout half the time.
All looking really good, what do I do about the email alias thing? Another pm request to Denial?
I will run for another day or so and update, hopefully will be running a new version of WM6 later today )
Thanks a lot DeniaL, this is a generous contribution to the community and I be making a donation shortly.

Sounds good. Glad to hear that you like it. As far as the e-mail alias thing, when you send your donation just include a note saying what your alias'd e-mail should be and I will set it up and send you an email back letting you know when it's finished. Take care!
Just bumping it so more people can get accounts if they want 'em.
Hi
i sent you an email,
Looking forward to working with your Exchange server

Why would someone host their email with some random individual they've never met, and open themselves up to remote wiping? Seems like a pretty big security breach to me...
I mean, you may be totally trustworthy. But you also may not be.

They can choose to trust me or not. I am not in this to screw with people. Just like the majority of this forum, I am just trying to offer a service. You can ask any of the people I offer this service to, I am not trying to screw anyone over.

I sent you an e-mail back. In regard's to your alias, I need to receive the $10 donation through paypal before I set that up. Go ahead and setup your phone, make sure everything is to your liking. As soon as you decide that, let me know and when I receive the $10 I will setup the alias'ing. Take care.
After much hassle, I'm finally up and running, haha. I trust him. I let him remote desktop connect to my computer to setup outlook and he didnt do anything fishy. He's legit and the service seems to work flawlessly once setup. Much recommended to anyone needing good push email/exchange. I will be donating to him once my paypal acct is funded on saturday. cheers on one of the best services yet!

Jade cant send emails...

Dear all,
I set up an email account (my workplace's) for my jade today. I am able to receive emails. However, sending emails is not possible. I will get an error message sayin that "message cannot be sent... check if there is network coverage..." I use WIFI and i am sure that there is network coverage.
Can someone please advise on the solution?
Thanks.
Delete your account definitions and try again.
Try also to configure a gmail account for example...
Hi, i tried all means i could to no avail... the error message kept poppin out...
i installed the official microsoft hotfix (tried both the msi and cab versions), to my disappointment, it did not work.
i gave up on my company email account and tried my personal yahoomail account. i seemed to have a prob with the username, i tried enterin [email protected] or just simply XXXXXX as the username, but the system did not recognize it and gave an error message.... at the end, ya, i gave up again...
can someone please enlighten me?
i bought this smartphone with the purpose that i can send/receive emails on the go... but this bug is drivin me crazy.
somebody, help... and thanks.
Can U send emails using yahoo mail (or gmail, hotmail) through normal browser ?
For company emails, sometimes a certficate is required (especially outlook). Check with your administrator.
and try to set up the email account with the program http://www.mymobiler.com/ to be very sure not to mistype anything.
af the end, if nothing works, maybe a hard reset can help? be sure to backup contacts and calendar!
Mail
An Yahoo account is html based and if you want to send and recieve, just visit the website. On the other hand if you have an account from your isp you have to configure the pop and smtp server. Just follow the instructions on your Jade
If you are using POP or IMAP looks like your SMTP options are not correct. Check with you email account company
Dear azahidi, DaM79, hadimassa and colonel,
Many thanks for your posts... however, i gave up le... now i use opera browser to send emails...
By the way, will HTC release a Windows Mobile Pro 6.5 update for Jade? If it does, then upgradin to WinMo 6.5 might solve the problem.
I have seen people flashin their PPCs with WinMo 6.5. Is it tough and dangerous? Anyone can share?

did you try to do a hard reset? maybe you have some software installed which blocks the config... dont give up! via opera is not very comfortable, right?
wm6.5, we will see. i think i remember to have read about update possiblities on http://wmpoweruser.com or on http://www.1800pocketpc.com. the general message was, update yes, but it depends - in our case - on HTC if they will release an official update.
hi DaM79,
yes, sendin emails with opera is troublesome...
i actually had tried a hard reset, but the problem persists...
still, i thank you for your help.
winmo 6.5 looks cool... i think i will wait for an official ROM or at least, when a stable and bug-free custom ROM is available.
by the way, i love Jade, it is very useful.
are you using the stock rom? what does htc support say? i mean this cant be possible somehow. i had a wm5 device before, ipaq, and email setup was more difficult but worked.
hi Dam79, i did not consult htc support and i dun think i will. does a stock ROM mean the original ROM that comes with the phone? if so, yes.
Can't send out emails too!
I have EXACTLY the same problem! I can receive emails from my work and from yahoo, but can't send out. The same error message appears and when I try to configure the email settings again, the password saved by my phone is always different than what I originally set. In the end, I also gave up and just used the browser. It would be good, though, if this problem's solved.
I bought my jade from Singapore; maybe it's a ROM problem?
Can't send emails
Is there anybody who has encountered and solved this problem?

Exchange mail support

Hi
I am i9000 wannabe (now I am using HTC Desire).
Does the Galaxy S supports Exchange out of the box as HTC does (with pin/password locking)?
Cheers
It's working
Got my i9000 yesterday. Exchange is working great out of the box. Just had to fill in my mailaddress and pass.
no, it does not work well with corporate exchange activesync, if thats what you are asking.
When I had the Evo, worked great with exchange activesync (which required a PIN)
Out of box, SGS does not support it, as it does not have the sense ui layer for it. Touchdown does work though. When 2.2 comes out, it may possibly support it.
Exchange works on the SGS only if it low-level and does not have corporate policies setup
it requires a 3rd party software for full exchange server/outlook support

hello!
my boss got a SGS and i have to get exchange working on that phone.
which software is able to use exchange?
the problem is that i can make all the exchange settings on the phone but
if i delete a mail on the phone it does not sync it, and so the mail is not really
gone. it has no effect when i switch the different kinds of syncing.
does it work maybe with a phone unlock password? a friend of mine had this on his
htc hero.
thx in advance

SGS comes with Exchange support.
if you delete a mail on phone, it actually delete the mail at server when you sync.
I hat problems syncing contacts but no problems with mails. Asking the mail-admins, I got the answer: known feature with old exchange server
Solution: admins moved my account to exchange 2007 server, I have no problems anymore

obviously not, i would not have asked if it worked like it should.
Just tested deleting an email on my phone, and it was correctly deleted from the Exchange server as well. SGS I9000 and Exchange 2007
My sgs does work fine with corporate exchange. I use the standard mail app for it without any problems. Just disabled the contact sync because i'm unsure if i loose my private contacts...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
We're running exchange 2007 and all is working fine for me. Our company has the screen lock/PIN security in place but this is not activated on my SGS. Everyone else with HTC, iPhones, etc are so I'm not sure why the SGS isn't, but I'm not complaining.
Just setup my exchange account too, all seems fine: email, contacts, appointments, etc. Nice
heck ..even vpn works fine on the sgs !
Just an FYI, my Captivate required me to enter a PIN after I setup the corporate exchange, but worked fine. Hated the clunky password entry though, was a right pain in the ass, tapping the password entry field, tapping "123" on the keyboard, and then tapping in the 4 digit PIN, then OK, and this needed to be done every couple of hours, give or take.
Did a Franken-flash to JM2 that all of the cool Captivate kids are doing, set everything up again, and lo and behold, there was no prompt for password. Three days later, still no password prompt, and corporate emails are coming in just fine. That alone made flashing worth it.

[Solution] FROYO bypassing exchange server policy

I just found a simple way to bypass the exchange policy.
I did NOT make this. I just discovered the fix by searching the web.
All credits go to the developer!
I now am running the FRG33 build with exchange synchronization, BUT with pattern lock! This also enables POP3 push.
It works flawlessly !
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...onal-froyo-bypass-exchange-server-policy.html
Good luck guys
Oh yea.... You will have to set up the exchange again.
Thanks
I installed the apk and then (before I continue with it) It prompted me to define an email account. Do I have to redefine my exchange account again? If so what's with the earlier definitions.
Thanks again
Good find!
Thnx!

Im sorry, but you have to set it up again. This replaces the stock mail.apk with a patched one. Therefore its like getting a new mail application, but once its set up again, you will be happy ;-)

[Q] Outlook setup in HD2 witn Windows 7.5

Hi,
I am using HTC HD2 with XBmod-Yuki Build 8107.
i want to setup Outlook on my phone but its giving me the following error
"There is a problem with the certificate. Error code: 80072F0D"
I downloaded the Root CA certificate from my PC and installed it on the phone but the error persists.
Can anyone help?
Regards,
On every ROM for my HD2, I have to install 2 certificates from my Exchange Server. I forward them to my Hotmail Account and installed them, after this everything works fine.

which 2 certificates? I installed the Root Certificate from my company exchange account . The other one?
Regards,
I have two, one is from the Certificate Server (Root CA) and the second one is for my Exchange.. I dont know how to explain..
i never tried exchange server . can anyoen shed somelight to me ?
still struggling with Outlook Exchange setup... funnily it connected once, downloaded a number of emails and then went back to the same error.
Can't figure out what went right for a brief period before going wrong again
Help please.
regards,
I never had any issues until Ultrafruit came alone, what I find now is that whilst I get the error is does actually download and sync with exchange, bit of a pain but it works, on the initial setup, tell it to download everything, then when it fails roll back the sync to only the last 7-14 days
Exchange can also fail if...
A your time zone and date isn't setup correctly
B you have a corrupt email in your inbox ( it will look ok, and will display fine but something in it is broken that you cant see)
C you have a email in your inbox with a HUGE attachment
D Cert errors, although as I said, mine was working with Xbmods rom

The error is very much a certificate error, im not 100% sure but i don't think its just a case of getting the cert off the exchange, you need the Root cert to who issued that cert.
basically there needs to be a trusted chain of authority and WP is having a fit because it cant see that chain,,,,
i think
