[REQ] Enhanced Notifications - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hello,
On my Blackstone I had "Enhanced Notifications" where when I clicked the TopBar to get notifications, it had buttons down the right hand side so I could click on it took me to say.. battery or connection manager.
I've tried to install the same thing on the TP2, no joy, it actually removes the Manager, anyone managed to get it working?

I don't think it would.
Since the day TF3D2 appeared, it seems to me that most people lamented the absence of a shortcut to battery, so I believe that it simply now doesn't work that way.

If I remember right the Notifications is nothing to do with TF3D, its a HTC Notification Manager which is seperate. I have it on my blackstone which has Onkologs 6.5 SuperLite, which has no Manila or TF3D on it at all.

Enlarge your today screen (how to remove the bottom menu bars)

If you're looking to get rid of the menu bar at the bottom of the Today Screen, read on. This is not a new tip, but might save you time, as there's a lot of different versions of these programs flying around. Only the one below works on WM6 / HTC Touch.
I personally find that the Menu Bars at the bottom of the Today Screen really spoil the look of the HTC Touch's sleek black/grey theme. Besides, the Comm Manager and Contacts are both accessible via the spinning cube (or the camera button if you install Double Launcher) so there's no need to have on the Today Screen, you may as well get more space for plugins, or just to keep everything looking neat and tidy. See screenshot below!
Here's how to banish them forever (?!) :
1. Download ToggleTodayIIAlpha from this link:
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjtoggletodayii/vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe
2. Copy it to your \Windows\Startup directory. (or somewhere else and paste a shortcut instead)
3. Go into the registry and edit this key:
HKLM/Software/Vijay555/VJTodayToggle
Change these keys:
Softkeysize = 1
StartSize = 26
TrayVisible = 1
That's it! I've had no massive problems with this so far, although I haven't been testing it for too long. I'd be interested to hear how people get on in terms of stability/bugs. You WILL get problems if you try to use any of the older VJTodayToggle programs in the thread on this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=243211
(SIP keyboard staying on, SIP moving to the top of the screen, menu titles disappearing but not the background, etc.)
...in fact, that's precisely why I'm sharing this info with you, as this thread is 39 pages long and it's only towards the end that things become totally clear! I'll post again if there's any unexpected side-effects, I'm currently minimising BatteryStatus and I don't know whether this will
Good luck!
Carlos
NOTES / ADVANCED
=======================
A: If you want to make your screen even neater AND still overclock your Touch, then, in step 3 above, you can make TrayVisible=0 then you can minimise the BatteryStatus plugin and it won't show up on your today screen. (right click on batterystatus icon, choose 'show rows -> minimise') I haven't tested this properly yet.
B: If you want to explore hiding the Start Menu, feel free, it looks superb when you first do it, but then I have found that the HTC biotouch (spinning cube) automatically re-instates the start menu bar when it's deactivated each time.
C: Please note, this program ( tt2.exe) DOES NOT TOGGLE, even though it's called that! Again, it's a 39 page thread, I warned you...
D: You can also run TT2.exe with a -config option to avoid editing the registry, but this would actually make the above even more long-winded to explain to any n00bs.
E: A nice new HTC wallpaper is doing the rounds without the logo. (As you can see from my screenshot, it's mis-positioned with the extra screen space) See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319830
F: Vijay555 has been meaning to release a new (non-alpha) version of the software for some time, but sounds pretty busy. He seems like an all-round splendid guy though and I'd like to thank him for this software and his continued postings/programming.
I have the HTC X7500 WM6 and I've been desperate to make it works.
I've been trying other version from the 40 pages thread, so I'll try this one and I will post result.

Good luck! The honest truth is that after I'd posted this, I discovered a couple of bugs that appeared in soak testing. I gave up in the end - it worked 90% but I would still occasionally get conflict, e.g. the SIP keyboard would appear at the top of the screen sometimes and only a soft reset would put it back where it was meant to be!

Yep I confirm that, SIP keyboard is there, and sometimes as well softkeys stay there after softreset.
Well actually for me it's even worse, it's hiding the system tray (the bar just above the softkeys bar) where we can add shortcuts icons and keep the softkeys bar enabled..
Im disappointed but thks for vijay555 for all the efforts
Perfect... without HTC Logo is even better...
Thanks Carlos,
I've just installed and its working fine. With the clean background from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319830 looks even better.
Cheers,
Marcelo

See my original post, have you tried setting TrayVisible=1 in the registry, this should show the system tray.
I followed exactly what u posted, it displayed it correctly the first time, then after soft reset it was displaying only the softkeys bar and hiding the system tray bar
Thks anyway
How does this look on screens BESIDES the today screen? I have used other programs on different WM phones in the past and although the bottom bar disappears on the today screen, it is still on other screens.
Also, can you use the bottom of the screen or is it just dead space? Some of us have moved the HTC Home Plug to the bottom of the page and if it is just dead space, it is going to look bad....

The menu bar is visible on other screens, this behaviour is by design. I cannot see why anybody would want it invisible on other screens, as you normally need those softkeys for menus in most programs!
As far as I know you can use the bottom of the screen, it is not dead space. But why not try it out - it's unlikely to do any harm. You can always delete it from your startup directory to uninstall if you don't want it.

Well it works well so far.....(Not my screen, Neo's screen @ HoFo)
I can't remember if the TrayVisible setting even works - I think it was something I was intending to build in, but never got around to it.
Apologies... I'm kinda programming again, had lots going on, so never finished the app. Sorry for you guys having to use my unfinished piece of cr*p. I'll make it work properly one day!

HELP!!!
I installed this, but I don't know how to get into the registry from an .exe file, so I just tried to open the file through my phone, and instead it has hidden my start bar, as well as the bottom bar. How do I reverse this???

How did you "move" the HTC Home plugin to the bottom part of the Today-screen without any plugin above it? I searched all over the forums, but I cannot find the answer to this question

Use the HTC Home customizer to "unlock" it. Then you can move it around like normal.
However, it doesn't redraw correctly on the right side if you unlock it, and a scrollbar comes and goes.
i have a other solution!! PCM shrink installe it and your bar remove it s very easier! For become to the original config juste delete the programmz!!
won't stick
Hi..very nice and easy Zip File..just one problem: the toggle won't stick after a soft reset = one has to go into File Explorer..double click the Toggle File and only than the screen is "clean" again.
Any way to make the toggle "stick"?
I have not this problem! I install the cab i going on the explorer and today shrink and clik on after i reboot my pda ans the bar not appear ... You can try put a abbreviated of today skrink in WINdows/started for star the application automatic on windows sartup
the result of the appl:
I have this running at startup on my Tilt, works with screen rotations and everything! And the hard keys are still mapped to calendar and contacts for quick access, awesome.
Many thanks, couldn't stand those useless soft keys before.

Getting rid of 5 tab today screen?

Hi,
I added the stuff from the "all you need for your wing" thread to my wing. Most of it is awesome, but there are issues with missed calls not showing up from my faves people. How can I get rid of this and go back to the normal screen? I tried downloading and installing the 3 tab version to see if that worked right, but it still shows the 5 tab on my today screen.
As far as the missed calls, I have the same problem as this guy-
xsillence said:
Hello,
After performing most of the mods located in this thread, the call history is not logging any calls to/from people that are in my fave 5. (it used to)
So I thought maybe the actual My Faves program is logging the calls now, but no it's not.
Anyone else experiencing this? The today screen plugin for missed calls does not increment by one when i have a missed call from someone in my fave 5, the call history does not log any my fave calls, and the My Faves program does not log them anymore either.

not sure what rom you are using but most of the newer roms allow you to select and deselect which tabs appear on the home screen from Settings->Today menu. You can also achieve this by downloaing schaps config tool and using that to edit the home plug-in. I hope thats what you were looking for.
I'd love to remove the missed calls/msgs/voicemails part of the htc home plugin.
I use SPB phone suite, and I prefer it over the htc, and it annoys me to have 2 things on the today page showing me missed events.

Well I tried removing what appeared by doing the Settings>Today Menu, but it came up after resets. But you can actually get rid of it by goint to "remove programs", so that's good. I feel stupid for asking before checking that.
I don't know anything about that tool...I JUST got this phone, and before this had some old crappy nextel. I'm new to the modding thing. I'll see if I can figure out that tool though. Thanks.

Well I didn't mind that, but if someone in myfavs called and I didn't see it, it wouldn't show up in call history as a missed call, and it wouldn't give me any new notifications. I'd love that home screen if that worked, but for some reason it doesn't, at least with that. No idea why. I wonder if the 6 tab version works.
I tried the 3 tab version, but I think it's outdated. My city isn't in the weather thing for it, but it was on the 5 tab.

Growing Panel - More than just animation

It turns out that the Growing Panel is more than just an animating panel... http://xperiancer.blogspot.com/2009/03/growing-panel-more-to-it.html
Best Regards.
Thanks, definitely interesting and I will be installing it.
It's nice, I'm looking forward to the new ROM.
wickedddd.....
Cannot install that growing panel!
Okay, I installed that Active X FlashLite and then the growing panel... both times restarted the phone!
No panel anywhere but in the 'Remove Programs'.
I have generic_uk R2aa10 and don't know how to make this install to being able to use it.
Thanks for your help....
Okay, I made it work. It was a Registry Setting I changed and bam....there it is. Nice!

Awesome... i knew it was a registry setting, but had no idea what...
Can you please post what registry setting you changed to make it appear in the Panel Manager and get it to work for those who can't?
it appears in xpanels list after adding it thru x-button
Some more info...
Mushrooms get blue and “evolve” when Bluetooth is activated.
When you have a meeting in the calendar a butterfly flies around. Think that the closer the meeting is the higher the butterfly flies. Also if you click on the butterfly you see the meeting in the calendar.
There are also small flowers (without flowers) in the bottom. When connected to a W-LAN they get white flowers on them. The better reception the more flowers appear.
This is only my own observations.
I'm sure this is dumb question... but where do you get the Growing Panel from? I'm confused, as everyone seems to be talking like they already have it?
It's also a MASSIVE battery drain, loses about 10% per hour even in standby.
That said, still really like the panel.
Yes, how can i get this to be showing in panels? hhe

The panel is included in Itjes 4.5 Touch-IT ROM.
Love this panel. Also noticed now that when you have an missed call, the red flower blossom and a bird (hummingbird???) flies to the flower, eats and then away! =)
Totally love the panel. Hope for more like this in the future.
Its kind a like an interactive theme to the phone.
My girlfriend also wants an X1 now! ;-)
Btw, AMAZING panel manager!!! Switch panel is really fast! =)
So I can't use it if i don't have Touch-IT rom ?

Go to the custom ROM thread... look in the second post. Itje put the CAB file there...
Works like a charm on my standard Vodafone 'out of the box' ROM.
Humming bird, bee, butterfly, caterpillar, snail, rain, sun... Very cute. Hope one of the insects will become a quick profile changer and it would be nice if the weather animations really are accurate.
Panel .cab is here... Install X1FlashLite first tho.

Tilt 2 vs WkTask

Installing WkTask seems to disable the WM6.5 start menu on my Tilt 2. The Windows button no longer works, and the start button does not work either. Has anyone else noticed this, or is there a known workaround? I needs mah task switcher!
wktask doesnt seem to work good in wm6.5, so work around is not to use it LOL

Any suggestions for an alternative that makes it easy to switch between running programs (and doesn't need a hard-key)? WkTask puts the "Windows" in "Windows Mobile".
I'm using iss Task Switcher
i have them both coexisting. Occasionally I lose the start menu, but very rarely
This bug's been bothering me since switching to 6.5 too.
I've been trying to isolate the Start Menu process so I can add it to the WkTask exclusions - but haven't yet found it...
Anyone else looked at this - or any chefs know what the Start Menu's exe is named?
WkTask is a great app, but I can't stand losing the start menu
THIS worked for me.
Just add \Windows\Shell32.exe to the exclusion list.
for me wktask worked good on all wm6.5 builds even on 6.5.1 it works good the only problem is its not transparent so i'm forced to set black top...

That's something completely different... I can't close the start menu, because I can't even GET TO the start menu. The start icon in the top left stops working, and the Windows hardware button stops working.
Maybe it's something specific to the Tilt 2?

bad alignment in sense and other programs

hi everybody, i installed my mobiler (so i can control my hd2 from my pc) and since then my sense main screen 'moved up' (hard to explain..look at pics).
i can see in the bottom right the my mobiler icon..but even if i disable it and softreset..well the screen is still miss-aligned (the icon is not there anymore).
my guess is that even other programs that have this type of icon would cause the same thing..
anybody experienced this b4? any help
much appreciated
Yeah, MyMobiler shows down there but only when you have the standard wm 6.1 plugin home screen. It shouldn't appear there while sense is activated. I have it installed also and it doesn't show up. Try disabling sense and enable it back and see what happens.
yup..i already tried uninstalling..disabling and deleting reg and then restart phone and/or sense...it stays the same .. pls help...i dont wanna hard reset again...just got everything working as i wanted...
oh..and by the way, de unde ai gasit un hd2 in rom?
i had the same problem just after the install of e-Natives Showcase
i don't know if is this program to create the issue but just after i removed it the phone went back to normal.
Just a thought, but in
start - settings - all settings - today - items
is there anything more than just HTC sense ticked? Could be that it is trying to show the app, and then show the senseui which is then trying to stack.
