Dropping calls - Touch HD General

Does anybody else have a problem on o2? For the past few days my HD has been very flakey.
o2 are usually spot on in my area, the phone has good signal and what is happening most of the time is ill take a call then after 20-60seconds it will cut off and play the "duur duur" noise.
Is there anything i can further do to trouble shoot this problem and see if its a phone or possible network problem?

same to me
It happens to me too, but in Serbia, with Telekom network operator. So it is regardless of the network. Only thing that comes to my mind is connection setup update that I have recently did. Found out that call is dropping when I change network station cell or type of connection (from gprs to edge or 3G)
I tried to make new connection setup, will report with findings...

call can't come in while data always on

I just switch to 3G instead of 2G. I want to experience the high speed internet suffing via my handset.
But I found the problem is that the phone call can't came in if I using the 3G data. Not even transfer to security services. Just a "Busy tone".
Check with the service provider and they are now checking with their technical dept to see if they can found the problem.
They said that the call should be able to come in because the phone call channel is different to the data channel. :?:
Anyone experience the same problem?
I experienced the same problem with my CHT9000. You may change the setting to GSM then call can come in when you using GPRS but you can't enjoy the high 3G speed on data transmittion. Anyone has better solution?
complicated issue; can be the same with GPRS/EDGE ; I made a lot of research read below;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=54738&highlight=
It is interesting. I don't have this kind of problem while I am using GPRS. But it happen to my new network provider (3G).
Lucky you then
At least you have GPRS/EDGE working and as a result it is absolutely a network provider issue.
I talked every detail with a guy in my Net. Op. and seems can be solved by "tricky switching something on" but they could not make me believe that this is not thier mistake. Because Class B phones MUST suspend the data flow and accept incoming calls for the technical point, only class A phones (no retail ATM) can make data flow and GSM talk at the same same.
GPRS is 2G, EDGE is 2,5G and same tecnique as 3G, only speeds are lower, so I beleive if u use 2G suspend while incoming calls your Net.Op. can solve the problem if they want
I have this strange problem with my vario II.
I am using Tmobile GPRS on both 2g and 3g network, If I am using the 2g phone works if If am using 3g phone doesn't work if I call it, the phone rings but doesn't alert me. The most annoying problem I am having is the phone switches between 2G and 3G if I am in a call the phone goes silent can't hear anything the display shows the call as connected and around 5-10 seconds later the phone drops call drops. This happens even if the data connection if not active.
What is the deal with that? anyone else have this problem.
Phone band settings are below
network type
Auto
GSM
GSM(900+1800)+UTMS(2100)
I've just discovered the same problem with my orange branded tytn, I'll be phoning them later to ask what they can do about it.

Works perfectly on T-Mobile UMTS for me. I did flash the Dopod 838Pro ROM though.
will flash the dopod rom in the morning. I am currently using the imate rom, and the tmobile rom the device shipped with had to many slow downs so it had to go. if this fixes the drop out issue I will be happy if not the phone will be in its box till a rom update. got the phone cheap so don't really mind. nice phone/pda apart from this issue in my line of work can't afford to miss or drop calls.
so is this a hardware or a software issue then?
No harware problem, it is absolutely software issue. Read my posts above and the links I gave
No problems here I'm afraid.
Voda v1605 running the Voda Blackberry Client, so either 3G or GPRS (where no 3G available) on all the time. Calls and SMS received perfectly.
Only issue I have is when using 3G, unlike home wired broadband, I cannot use multiple applications through the single 3G connection (e.g. Blackberry client on and surf too)

Calling all T-Mobile UK London Users

All,
Are you experiencing problems with the 3G network?
I work in the city near Liverpool Street and for the last couple of weeks I am experiencing problems when logged on to the 3G network.
For example when I dial my mobile it goes straight to my voicemail.
Some of my work colleagues are unable to connect to the 3G data network.
Anyone else experiening this?
If I switch back to the GSM network everything works fine.
I have tried ringing T-Mobile and can not get through to them,
I am using Black 2.5 WM6 and radio 1.41
Thanks
Msuk
not experienced probs
Been OK for me. I use a virgin sim but believe it uses T-Mobile network. Work in same area.
Same problem here in Manchester - 3G has been fine and rock solid until Saturday night and all hell has now broken loose....
Works OK at first, then no calls can get through - datarates are up and down like a tarts knickers (if available at all) and occasionally cell disappears totally. Move into city centre and all is well again :-/
Ruled out a device problem by trying another device
T-Mob are aware there is a problem with 3G at the moment but customer services were unable to point to a resolve time.
In the interim tho (incase you didn't guess) you can force your device onto GSM rather than 3G if missing calls is critical for you when the network's having a play up.
Hey Guys
yeah t-mobile have serious issues with the 3g network at the moment (as of this lunch time). Its there number 1 priority issue and have every one and his brother looking into it.
In the meantime, they have told me to drop my calls down to GSM - in reality this means that you won't be able to make video calls but thats pretty much it.
Start->Settings->Phone->Band-> "Select your network Type" to GSM (from Auto.
London/ Canary Wharf - same problem
Same problem with 3G in Canary Wharf in London - both on Hermes and Trinity. Switching to GSM solves the problem.
Sometimes people can not contact me.
Outgoing calls - people hear me fine, but I can hardly hear them.
Have tried various radio 35, 38 and 41. And various ROM - WM6 and official HTC WM5... Same problem.

Problem with phone signal

Hello!
I spent last week in France and I had a lot of problems with GSM signal. Phone sometimes can't connect to operater. When I looked in settings menu I saw only ''searching'' and nothing happend. Then I just click on ''Find network'' and after some second everything was OK.
For me is this a big problem because I must be reachable all the time.
What could be wrong and how could I solve the problem?
Bye,
Borut
I'm on radio 1.38.00.11, and I have the same problem too... sometimes it does not even get any signal after trying to "find network". When I disable the phone and enable it again (flight mode and back) it will get full signal, I'm at the same spot for the whole process so its not the reception of the location.
Any idea?
I sent also an E-mail to HTC support team and still waiting an answer.
I got this answer:
Good Afternoon,
?
Unfortunately this can happen sometimes when roaming, especially if the SIM from your network does not have the preferred roaming partners programmed into it.
?
What tends to happen is that as the phone is switched on in the new country, it will automatically search for all networks in range and then systematically attempt to register and connect with all of them one by one.? Sometimes, depending on the speed with which the networks respond to the handset's requests to register, this can take a few minutes, especially if there are many networks in range.? It can also happen as the signal from one network disappears and the phone must begin this process again.
?
One thing I would suggest would be to contact your Operator and ask them for the name of the preferred roaming partner of the country you are travelling to and upon arrival in the country, you can manually select the network to connect to.? this should then tell the phone to keep with that network until it loses signal, but it should automatically return when the signal is found again.
?
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html
?

Tele2/Comviq

Im having problem with my network connection.
Everytime it has to change from the sweden 3G network to my Tele2 GSM network it looses connection. This roaming issue is very annoying.
Most of the times it will register to network again but it takes several minutes.
Sometimes I have to softreset.
Another problem: I seem to have full 3G-signal but when I start PIE and a connection is started the signal goes down... Why on earth is that?
Anyone else noticed this?
recall when 3 first started with 3g here
they had the same problem the problem was
not with the phones but with the way that
the they handled the roaming from 3g to 2g
people had phone conversations ended by the
changing from 3g to 2g and such
think they fixed it now but it was not a phone issue
I need help with tele2comviq 3G
I have an htc diamond, I successfully conect to 3G for free but it can't surf internet but only works with skype. Any suggestion or help?

SGS2 is auto switching network operator

I have the choice of being on either the Orange network or T-mobile network here in the UK due to their signal sharing deal. My native network is Orange.
On the SGS I was able to set which network I wanted and my phone would stay on it and it would not change. Alternatively I could set it on "select automatically" and it would switch between them when the one it was on drops or it thinks the other signal is stronger.
Now I have a SGS2 and it no longer does this, it automatically switches between the networks even if I have selected the one I want manually. The problem is at my home and where I work the Orange signal is too poor to make calls so I want to keep it on t-mobile. Problem is it keep switching back to Orange and then I go to take a call but the signal is so bad I can't hear the other person!
This issue could potentially be a huge problem for me. Is there anyway round this?
