Pharos GPS Phone 600 With Garmin Mobile XT - P3470 General

I have a Pharos GPS Phone 600 and I have installed Garmin Mobile XT, but the program can't seem to get any GPS data from the receiver. Does anybody have any idea how to make them communicate?

sorry dewd but this is not the phorum for your phone. since its made by a company called pharos instead of the model p3470 Pharos made by HTC....
seems to boil down to getting the gps device to the right port so garmin can get the data.

Garmin xt for wm5 works with Nuvi sd maps

I have garmin xt working on my artemis but it needs a genuine garmin gps10 bluetooth aerial to work.
is there any way of getting garmin to connect with the built in gps......
ps how do you copy garmin sd card maps..after copying all the files from one sd card to another the unit miraculously recognises it as a copy ?????
me too, i'm also interested if garmin xt will work with the internal gps. i couldn't get it working on my artemis....would be great if someone knows a howto...
The problem with Garmin programs is that they look for Garmin formatted data stream from the GPS. The Artemis GPS provides a standard NMEA data stream. The only way to make Garmin work is to install a GPS port translation program, like GPSGate. It allows to direct the GPS output to a port the Garmin software will see and translate it to Garmin format. There is a freeware program that does the same, but at the moment I don't remember the name
I used garmin 2.90 with GPSgate and internal GPS, but I wasn't able to do it with XT, I wish there is a way, but I'm not sure GPSgate can do it. Because as far as I know, GPSgate creates a virtual port for garmin with the secret no. that your gps sends to your device, but that's not possible with XT because it does not give you the option to change ports, it automatically searches your bluetooth port.

Access SMS's from Hermes on Garmin Nuvi

I have an htc Hermes and a Garmin Nuvi 660, and use the Garmin as a handsfree as well as a GPS unit in the car, as it has Bluetooth.
The Garmin is able to show and readout SMS's with compatable phones. Unfortunately the Hermes does not work, and is listed as not being compatable.
I have a Motorolla RAZR v3 as a backup phone and it works perfectly.
Firstly, I can't understand why some phones can do this and others can't ??
Secondly, is there some super intelligent being out there who can (or has) figure out a way to make this work ??

Garmin Mobile XT for WindowsMobile V4.20.20w - Unit ID???

Hello all.
I have an MDA Vario (HTC) with no GPS. However, maps can come very handy. I've installed Garmin Mobile XT for WindowsMobile V4.20.20w.
Now It's time for unlocking...
I have to enter the Unit ID.... WHERE CAN I FIND IT?
I also have the IMEI converter... WHAT DO I HAVE TO USE IT FOR, AND HOW?
Thank you all for your help!

I wasn't aware that iGo8 had a version with U.S. maps? Seems they only cover Europe...

I've got both TomTom and CoPilot Live 8.
I prefer CoPilot.
IGO8
I'm not allowed to post a url yet since I'm a new member, but its gpsunderground.com then go to IGO
and yes there are North American maps. I have it installed on my nokia 500 and it works great.

Does IGO require a data connection?
Not if you preload the maps.
Copilot 8 & Garmin XT
Garmin Mobile XT, iGo8, and CamerAware Buddy
Garmin Mobile XT. It's the same as my Garmin Nuvi, so I sold it. It was that good.
Co Pilot 8 all the way best value in town

I just installed Igo8 and my gps isnt being detected...any ideas why?
Did u install it properly? let it load completely on its first start?
also i noticed when im in doors the gps doesnt work =/
I am using Garmin and iGO, but there is a problem with iGo, it doesn't report correct info, when it says turn left in 600 feet i am 10 feet away from the actual turn and when i get to the corner it jumps from 600 to 10 feet in seconds, i guess it thinks i have a Ferrari.
Garmin xt all the way!!!!
I use Pharos Ostia. I used it on my Samsung i730 (WM5) and Pharos lets me download whatever maps I need. I used the BT GPS antenna that came with it for my old phone, but since the HD2's GPS comm port is unlocked (unlike i730) I just use the internal antenna.
Pharos Ostia is a great program. I've been using it since '07.
Igo8 is my favorite

I Don't think so,because My SE.X1 runing window 6.5 too , but it can Down load the city map and run good with TOM TOM 7.7.9.10 Navigator
only X2 won't work,I fell so bad,can you tell me how to get the GAMIN.XT APP and North America MAP,and how to Install to X2,Thanks you very much.
Since you ask here and not at Tomtom service I take it you have your reasons.
I have tried to install Tomtom on my X2 without MR1 and MR2 without luck. My previous X1, no problem.
Have you had a look at gpsunderground.com?
I've bought and installed copilot ( http://www.alk.eu.com/ ) and it worked flawlessly at mr1. And it is really cheap but navigation is thereafter. I would barely recommend it, but the GPS connects nice.
If you have a look at supported devices at Tomtom you can clearly see that SE X2 isn't supported. If someone gets it running nicely at our X2 i wouldn't judge people who gets it at places as gpsunderground and similar - but hey, that's just me, it's Tomtoms loss and not ours.
You need "GPS Gate" to get TomTom working on the X2, this has been covered many, many, oh did I mention many? times.

I don’t use GPSGate and TomTom Ver 7.910 works on my X2.
On the X2 – go to Settings/System/External GPS and change GDP9 TO COM8.
Open TomTom and change the GPS Device from Built in GPS receiver to Other NMEA GPS receiver and select COM8.
Make sure you run FASTGPS and download the latest Sat Data.
Hope this helps

I'll give you a hint. NO ONE has TomTom listed as a GPS receiver, so stop looking for it! Go back and read the posts again.
i'm using destinator 7 and igo8 both work great with the X2, you just have to set com port 3 or 4 on your xperia
