Since we get Touchflo from the Blackstone, it's only fair the Blackstone gets our panels... Hehe

I do not know

I have read almost everything there is to read from the web regarding Xperia and the HD and still cannot make up my mind which to buy.My previous phones where the DIAMOND,TYTN 2,P3600, JASJAR and the list goes on and ofcourse long ago SONYERICSSON P990, which though not a pocket PC i can still remember. Where i live i cannot get accsess to play around and choose for myself.I am a very sylish by nature but still enjoys a good phone. Please help dear members and choose for me.Thanks and please do not be angry!
PcPro magazine in the UK rated the HTC Touch HD above the Xperia, Xepria has the same resolution but a slightly smaller screen that lost it the race.
Keep your HTC Touch basic without installing many of the community apps and you'll be fine and happy
Thanks my friend
Xperia vs Touch HD
Two guys in the office have an Xperia. I have a touch HD. The large screen on the touch HD regularly leaves them in awe... especially when I showed them some movies in Coreplayer.
The Xperia screen I feel is too small to be really useful as a touchscreen, but it does have plenty of buttons to overcome that.
If you sms a lot or will be writing lenghty emails, then the Touch HD is probably not for you, unless you are a whizz at typing on a touchscreen (I still haven't been able to master iy).
Xperia requires more use of the stylus than HD. Xperia is a very very nice device - very stylish but the HD always generates more gasps when I show it to anyone. The huge screen just blows the competition away.
Anyway, as said, if you need a keyboard, go Xperia - if you can live without keyboard go HD.

Does TF3D make Xperia a better device?

Well, to me I would have returned Xperia within few days if I didn't discover XDA forums and Touch-HD cabs for Xperia.
But wondering why can't I just get say Diamond Touch or Touch Pro at much lesser cost instead of spending $$$$ for Xperia and then trying to get it too look like Diamond? Since I use AT&T, I can get Fuze at fraction of X1 cost.
I am curious to know why most of you prefer Xperia X1 over HTC phones that have TF3D interface since they cost less.
Well for me, the design of the x1 is very nice. Every time I whip it out others are always very interested. I also like the fact that panels can allow you to have mutiple choices of your today screen. The panel interface DOES look nice and clean cut too. There is a hardset key to get back into it and not to mention the HD touch flo is the best out there! I use the stocks tab ALL the time and I have always been a fan of tf3d. I also like my old school look today screen with weatherpanel, and now I just found the original HTC home in FULL VGA! Ofcoarse, my love for WM. It's the best of both worlds. Don't get me wrong, the x1 DOES have its flaws but I have NEVER owned a WM device that has not. All in all, its the best WM device I have ever had. And I have had WM devices back from the hitachi 1000 which started it all. What a brink that was! LOL
its makes a better device for me.
the WM interface sucks sooo much. staring apps, getting info is pretty much impossible without stylus (while doing anything else like walking, driving or so)
tf3d is just finger friendly. also has some issues but not that much.
Why not choosing the Xperia if you can afford it ??
It's the better phone all around
For me, it was not a matter of PRICE.
I chose the XPERIA because I found it to be a nice blend of high-tech and artwork:
1- metal case (byr bye my ole diamond !!)
2- WVGA beautiful screen (bye bye my ole raphael !!)
3- Full Keyboard (so long Touch HD !!)
4- The BIGGEST RAM available as for Jan 2009
And yes you can keep it "stock" (as I did) or you can put TouchFlo on it, or even ANDROID, whatever... IT's GOD SPEED. Even Touch flo will run faster in a Xperia than in a diamond

ditto all that!
Playing with an HD in Orange today (I know, bad bad, was thinking of going to the dark side but glad I chose X1. The HD even though the screen is big and lovely (not that X1's is any less gorgeous) but the thing is just too bulky for me. X1 is the perfect size for me, holding the HD did reminded me of the old days with my XDA IIi and I was sweating thinking of that :OI think the point of the X1 is that it looks quite understating but under the hood you can name all the mobile technologies under the sun and it's all there
All the technologies out there at a great form factor. Only gripe I have is that it does not have even half as many hardware buttons to program as the HTC devices which allows quick selection of apps without touching the screen (stylus or finger).
I have never played with the TF3D software and so my device is pretty stock. Is there an online demo or anything I can have a look at?

I'm personally use SPb Mobile Shell (not as a panel, but as separate app) as more useful, convenient, fast interface.
It costs just a few bucks and I don't see any reason to pay for TF3D.

MultiTouch on the HD

Hey guys, i was just wondering that, does the HD have multitouch capabilities. a couple of months back we saw the diamond has a little bit of multitouch in it. is there anyone out there that can test the hd to see if it can do "multitouch"
I don't think we have the type of touch screen to support that. Even if, Apple just got a patten for it, I expect lawsuits will fly over that shortly.
What do you mean with, the diamond has a "little bit of multouch"?
Do we really need another thread to discuss this?
The Touch Pro and Diamond have a capacitive touch pad below the screen. The HD does not.

Touch HD + WM 6.5 + New Touchflo (Manilla?)

Does the Touch HD run smoothly with the new stuff from the future diamond 2 and touch pro 2? Or will the newer hardware perform much better?
Just trying to see if I should bite the bullet on a Touch hd or wait for the diamond 2 ...or omnia hd...
Thanks all-
The hardware is actually the same. TP2 has a slightly smaller screen (3.8' vs 3.6' on the Pro2) and QWERTY keyboard, while TD2 is pretty much a smaller version of the HD (it also has no 3.5'' jack).
So yeah, it runs the new software just as good as TD2 and TP2 do.
In the end it really boils down to Touch HD vs Omnia HD (seeing as Diamond2 is not as good as the Blackstone), which isn't even out yet (but it'll probably be the bomb when it comes out).
Oh, and Omnia HD is no longer called that. It's referred to with a code which I, of course, forgot. They want to keep that brand to WinMo devices.

HTC Touch Pro vs HTC Touch Pro 2

Hi guys,
Just a little qwestion.
is the HTC Touch pro 2 faster than the HTC Touch pro?
What are the difrences between these two devices ?
greats
antonius
tp v tp2
tp2 from what i can see if faster and comes with a newer version of touch flow
but would it not be better to post this in the touch pro 2 forums rather than this which is for the touch diamond 2/topaz
