Where is the contacts.exe or similar? - Touch HD General

Hi Folks,
i want to rename and replace the right softkey (currently used for Programms)
I want to change it into a shortcut to Contacts, but i can´t find the contacts.exe or similar to write the right path into the registry
Could someone help me please?

You do it by pointing to the contact.lnk file in your start menu directory. If you wonder which program that links to , look at the property.

By using resco Explorer with enabled Data-endings i´ve found it in: \windows\Startmenü\Kontake.lnk
Thx for your help.....

PHM REgEdit
jfran,
PHM Reg EDIT sometimes does not gfet installed if you download the msi file and install the same using active sync. In Active Sync, it points to the file as already installed but you will not find it under programs
Instead download the CAB file and install using cabInstal. You can find the CAB file also in the same place as when you found the msi file in Phillippe's web site
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Deepak
Change directory for messages?
Is it possible to change the default directory for saved messages to a directory on an SD card instead of the default directory in windows/messaging?

Changing Background

I am trying to change the background on an HTC Polaris.
I found the file used in the background in the /windows folder, it is called HTC_Grey. How do I find the registry setting that corresponds to this? Does anyone know where this is called in the registry?
why don't you just go to:
Start menu / Settings / Today
and select the new background you wanna use? =)
Because I added a new file in the /windows folder and want to point the registry to that new file. Anyone know what the registry address is that points to this?
Aas you wish...
If you don't find the registry key that needs to be changed, why dont you just replace the "HTC_Grey" file by yours (using the same name) ^_^
Just a random though since i never tried to do since before =)

Where are u looking for?
Device\Windows\Startup (everything here starts after soft-reset).
I'm using Total Commander instead of the windows explorer.
With Total Commander, you have access to the registry (directory "\\") ; and the start menu is a directory in \Windows\ (in French Jade : `\Windows\Menu démarrer\).

I just tried and found hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/shell/rai first time using a registry editor
Using your file exporer (Resco Explorer or Totalcommander) go to Windows and open file called RegEdit (i.e. registry editor).
If you want a faster access to this file in future create a shortcut of it and put it into your startmenu or programs folder
There are other registry editors out there if you do a search.

Actually that's what threw me off using TotalCommander the first time as well... It has a strange way of getting into the registry: You have to go to the topmost level (just hit the backslash top right) and then go into "\\Plugins", then "registry". There, hkey_local_machine is HKLM...
Hope that helps!

File explorer - once=select twice=open/run

I have searched but found no answer - so I would be glad if someone could tell me if the following is possible:
I would like to set windows file explorer to select the file on the first tab, and run it only if it is tapped twice.
Is there a way to do this ?
(A registry tweak ? a cab to install ? a setting somewhere ?)
Thanks
Anyone ?
Thanks
I'd like to know that too
+ 1
I'd like that too.

Resco file explorer allows that be configured, as well as being superior in every way.
