Klaxon Home Page
If anyone experiences a bug with Klaxon, please post a description of the bug, steps to reproduce the problem, and attach the \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.txt file to the post.
I have discontinued development on the original UI. This alarm program is designed for a phone that has a high resolution display and sensor capabilities.
TO DO:
Support for multiple languages.
Looking for more ideas to help improve this application!
Version 2.0.0.23
Removed the upper right default "ok" button from the OpenFileDialog. This prevents users from hitting Ok and closing the dialog when no file has been selected.
Reverted previous change to "dismiss" Windows alarms. This was causing issues on mine and other devices in that the Klaxon Alarm would never show up. In its place, Klaxon now prevents Windows Alarms from flashing, playing sound, or vibrating. The notification will still show up, but at least not it is completely benign.
You can no longer hit the Off or Snooze buttons while the phone's screen is powered off.
Klaxon will no longer start the OpenFileDialog in the Windows directory to prevent the device from hanging while all the files are listed.
Fixed Daylight Savings Bug!
I'm also looking for someone to design a skin or two for Klaxon, as well as a new icon! Please contact me if you are interested!
Version 2.0.0.21
Fixed crash bug that would happen when browsing a directory filled with many sound files.
Changed the Klaxon icon to something nicer looking. (Requires restart, Windows Mobile caches icons)
The OpenFileDialog now shows the appropriate size folder icon for your resolution.
Version 2.0.0.20
Added Volume control option for alarm under Settings.
Fixed intermittent bug where Samsung G-Sensor exception went uncaught, causing an exception.
Version 2.0.0.19
When integrating with Home Screen, Klaxon now cancels all Windows alarms upon firing an alarm.
Turning off the screen when snoozing is now an option in settings.
Klaxon will now ask for confirmation if you try to create or edit an alarm that is set as disabled. Some users were accidentally disabling the alarm and pressing OK, and the alarm would obviously not go off.
Version 2.0.0.17
Skinning support implemented, sample skins will be released soon.
Completely stripped out the old Klaxon UI design and added QVGA support for the new skinnable UI.
Fixed bugs related to the new feature that allows you to disable sensors while snoozed.
Download and extract the new TestSkin into \Program Files\Klaxon\TestSkin to use as a base to create your own skins. TestSkin looks exactly like the default Klaxon skin.
If you want to install the TestSkin, your directory structure should look like this image:
http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/KlaxonDirectoryStructure.jpg
Version 2.0.0.11
Added options to disable each sensor action while snoozed. For example, if your Flip action snoozes your phone, and you don't want to let it resnooze while snoozing (by just picking up your phone in some cases), check this box!
Added the ability to select a Windows Media Player playlist. You can find playlists in your \Playlists or \Internal Storage\Playlists folders. You can use Windows Media Player on your desktop to create and sync playlists.
When you snooze your device, the screen is automatically turned off to save power.
The default sound file is now \Windows\Alarm5.wav. It is not configurable in the UI yet, but you can configure it manually setting the \HKCU\Software\Klaxon\DefaultSoundFile value in the registry. (It does not exist by default, but Klaxon will use it if it is there.)
Version 2.0.0.9
Implemented About Box
Implemented the Snooze countdown on the alarm form.
On the Alarm List form, days that are not scheduled to start the alarm are now a darker color than they were before.
Fixed bug where deleting all the alarms would not remove the alarm from the TouchFlo Home Screen.
Fixed the sound looping bug once and for all! Found a not so well documented "loop" API hidden off the WindowsMediaPlayer.settings.setMode method.
Fixed bug where seconds showed up on the alarms in the list form and the alarm itself.
Version 2.0.0.6
Implemented new skin for the actual Alarm form.
Implemented 24 hour mode (on the reskinned version only)
Possibly fixed bug where wav files were not looping.
Fixed bug where editing alarms that took place on the noon or midnight hours were bugged.
Vibrations are now 150 and 300 ms instead of 500ms.
Windows Alarms are now schedule with no sound, so all the user may see is a notification (if Home Screen integration is enabled)
Fixed bug where One Time alarms did not show up on the Home Screen.
Version 2.0.0.5
If you have a 480x640+ screen, you will see the new UI. It's pretty. Still have to skin the alarm form, but besides that, it is done.
Possibly fixed bug where Klaxon would stay resident in memory.
The number controls are now gesture based: you can flick them and they will scroll through their range quite rapidly!
You can now preview the alarm using the play button. (Only available in the new UI)
Using Klaxon is pretty straightforward; it's more or less like the standard Clocks and Alarms application.
You can download Klaxon from my website.

thanks will try this.

Some users were accidentally disabling the alarm and pressing OK, and the alarm would obviously not go off.

time issue
this works perfect on my phone but for some reason it's 1 hour off!!! I have to set the alarm at 2pm for example for it to ring at 3pm!
is there a way to fix this?

Try installing this CAB- it fixes windows mobile DST problems.

Dude! that was a very quick answer! I'm trying right now....
I installed the cab file and did a soft reset, still did not work... I'm using a 12hr mode.
I have a tmobile wing and I live in -5GMT time zone (i dont know if this info is useful)

Alright, I've reproduced the problem with the setup you provided-- it definitely seems to be a daylight savings time bug. I'm working on the fix now. Check back in an hour or two (or just check your AppToDate).

Version 2.0.0.20
Added Volume control option for alarm under Settings.
Fixed intermittent bug where Samsung G-Sensor exception went uncaught, causing an exception.

new version
sorry to ask, but on ur website there's only ver .19 (not.20) and was the 1hr difference fixed in the newest version?...
Thanks

I didn't post about it on my site, just redownload the link (which stays up to date) or use AppToDate.
I haven't figured out the 1 hour issue. Can you try the following:
Schedule an alarm on your phone for 3 minutes later, and then turn the screen off with the power button. After 5 minutes, if the alarm does not turn on, turn the phone screen back on. Does the alarm immediately fire?

Version 2.0.0.21
Fixed crash bug that would happen when browsing a directory filled with many sound files.
Changed the Klaxon icon to something nicer looking. (Requires restart, Windows Mobile caches icons)
The OpenFileDialog now shows the appropriate size folder icon for your resolution.

Hi, Koush.
One suggestion, if you don't mind.
When you try to pick up an alarm melody for the first time, it takes too much time before you see a file browser window. The reason - Klaxon opens \Windows folder where, as we all know, there are too many files. The owner of low performance device may think that PDA has hung.
I think the default folder should not be \Windows.
Don't know any user who stores favorite melodies in this folder.

I really like your app. I have a feature request. Is it possible to create a random alarm. For example I choose a map with songs and Klaxon randomly plays one at a alarm

Can't add alarms
Great Job!
I've a problem though. I add an alarm on Klaxon and it never shows up on the alarm list (in Klaxon itself as well). Press ok on alarm form brings me back to an empty list. Looking into Klaxon.txt file shows 0 alarms added.
I have a Kaiser with Hyperdragon III ROM. Is Klaxon ONLY for devices with G-Sensor, or if I turn off G-Sensor options (which I did) I'd be able to use it as well?? BTW, I'm using Manilla 2D. Does the TouchFlo3D integration work on TF2D as well? I tried turning it off but still can't add alarms...
I can add Windows Alarms and remove them without problems...
Thanks!!

Bad at waking up... any good alarm software?

Does anyone know of any good alarm software that's compatible with the universal? The built in alarm gives up the ghost before I'm even half way to waking. I'm currently using my old treo just for getting me up in the mornings.
I'm also on the lookout for a decent piece of Alarm software, but in the meantime, you can use this:
apReminder+ http://www.apsoftsystems.com/apreminderplus/index.htm
I haven't tried it with an "alarm", but for calendar notifications it does a good job (I use Calendar events for wake up calls..) It basically see's the notification and then plays whatever you tell it to, up to 100 times at whatever interval.. pretty effective wake up tool!
Its not quite WM5 aware, in that Landscape mode doesn't work.. you won't be able to click the Run button to save the settings, so just make sure its in portrait first. It also plays silly buggers with the screen if you start it off in landscape and then change to portrait, so bear that in mind. Other than that, its ace.
I have been using pTravelAlarm for some time, both on the Universal and my previous BA. It has muliple, selectably repeatable alarms and you can choice the sound or music to go with it. They have also issued a 'fixed' version for MM5 pending a final upgrade to it.

I've just been reading their FAQ and it confirms that if you password protect your device after a period powered down, then you can't see the snooze/dismiss screen of pTravelAlarm when it wakes you up in the morning. It's hidden behind the WM5 password screen.
How do users of pTravelAlarm get around this problem? It seems pretty fundamental to me. Pity though - a decent alarm clock app would be v.useful.
I'm using SPB time V. 1.1.
I was using it with my old PDA2K, and now using the same with Jasjar.
doing well so far.
does spb time bring your system out of standby. I have noticed that it does not. the alarm only rings when I switch on the backlight and bring the system out of standby.

Same with me, spb does not bring my system out of standby.
I used to manually set my device not to turn off device if not used for (--) minutes from the power setttings before going to sleep. This is the only way to get the alarm working and I think it's copatibility problem with WM5 as this version of the software was designed for WM2003 and still no up-grade is developed.

I used this one it's very good can play MP3 and can select custom sound stored in memory or on the storage card.

! FIXED!!!
Hello All!
After 3 weeks of usage of my Qtek9000:
- all the Calendar notifications dissapeared (no text, no sound);
- the Alarms did have sound and vibra, but no text and Notification softbutton on the screen;
- alarms sounds could appear on their selfs on a random time and no Text on the screen.
I've searched the forum and it learned out that it is a Notification Que Issue.
It looks that upon a time, that que is being oversized or some mess (duplicates?) happened in it.
So, after that the "Notification Que" Issue appears.
HOW I FIXED IT:
1. Get the MemMaid \ PocketMechanic app;
2. find and delete duplicates, SoftReset (SR) (no success so far);
3. delete up to 200 CALENDAR.EXE entries, (SR) (no success so far);
4. delete up to 100TASK.EXE entries, (SR) (no success so far);
5. delete .\\notificatiopn.....script... entries, (SR) (no success so far);
6. delete all repllog.exe entries (2) and SR- IT WORKS AGAIN !!! ;
From this case - I dont know which of the manipulations actually brought my notifications back alive (is that really the repllog.exe entry?)
The possible longterm solution may be a 3-rd party App, which performs scheduled Notification Que clean up?
This is a very annoying and awfull BUG in the WM5 !!!
As I don't believe the fillowing ROM releases will fix this critical bug, the only way out - is developing the system app to perform a scheduled Notification Que clean up.
All, please, give your feed back: your experience, knowledge on the subject, etc.
Thank you.

NO NOT DELETE NOTIFICATIONS
Hi!
I deleted the notifications dima_the_chief mentioned. After that the alarm and calendar events worked again. BUT:
1. Only the newly entered calendar events worked, because the notification entry of old ones were deleted from the notification queue.
2. Deleted repllog.exe notifications --> Activesync never connected again. I have read several posts on the forum on how to restore reppllog.exe notifications that make Activesync work. However, I didn't manage to do it. Activesync is lost.
3. Deleted SCRIPT..... notifications --> The led on my device did not signal me anymore if I had new messages or missed call. It was always green, no matter what I set in Sounds and Notifications.
I performed a hard reset So all of you, beware. If you must, delete calendar and alarm events - in this case you will miss all calendar and alarm notifications you already have. But in worst case they can be restored by touching all items in your calendar (click edit, change something, then save).
But DO NOT DELETE repllog.exe and SCRIPT notifications!!!
That is my experience, there may be a solution, but I haven't found any, which resulted in a hard reset
Cheers

V_Vibrate - wm5 command line control of sound mode (On / Vibrate / Off)

V_Vibrate v1.0 (c) 2006 ValeraVi - This is my small program , for control a sound mode (On / Vibrate / Off) of WM5.0 PDA from command line.

Here is a list of command line parameters:
-toggle - toggle vibrate (i.e. toggle beween sound on mode and vibrate mode);
-on - vibrate mode on (i.e. set vibrate mode);
-off - vibrate mode off (i.e. set sound on mode);
-noforce - do not switch if current state illegal (i.e., for example, if current mode is sound off and you run -toggle sound will stay off);
-togglevs - toggle vibra/silence (i.e. toggle beween sound off mode and vibrate mode);
-togglesnd - toggle sound (i.e. toggle beween sound on mode and sound off mode);
-offall - vibra and sound off;
But in most cases you do not must know this parameters, because, after installing .cab file you can use a links in Programs\ValeraVi\V_Vibrate for executing any of this commands. Also you can assign any command on hardware button, place it on your favorite today programs launcher , execute it at specified time from your favorite scheduler (vibrate mode at morning, sound on mode at evening, sound off mode at night ), etc.
Great Idea but...
Hi,
I have been searching it for a long time!!!!
But I've a Magician with WM2003.. :-(
Do you think it's possible to port it on WM2003?
Thks,
Norby
No, wm2003 do not have functions for changing vibrate mode of device, that i use. May be it is exist some other method, but i do not know. When i was using wm2003 on my BA, for turning vibrate mode on / off i used script for nScriptm that emulate stylus tap's on volume bubble. Not very convenient, but for use in schedulers it is enough. I attach that my script, if you interested , but i think you may need to correct some coordinates of taps and path to ns in .lnk...
Thanks!
Dear ValeraVi,
thank you for your fast response.
I have already thought makinge a script but I didn't known where to start.
So your script and your advice are precious!
Have a good week end!

thank you so much
Hi Valera,
your tool is a great idea. I have installed it on WM5 on Qtek 9600, and the files show in the application folder, but when I assign a hardware button, I get a pop up saying the certificate may be unknown or a component is missing...
I installed in twice onto the memory card, but for some reason its always the same.
Do you have a clue ?
Greetings

Hi.. I was ever looking for something like this... Great you have done this, however, is it possible to control the way the vibrator activated? To further elaborate, for example if I chose music ringtone the vibration doesn't intermit because it's a song tone where there isn't a break. I really wondr if it's ever possible to have the vibration stop intermittently despite the nature of the ringtone chose?
cheers.

may be this link can help you:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Hacks
(scroll down to the "Phone Settings")
But if you mean to change behaviour of v0 srcipt - then no - i do not know how to change it... may be only by using other 3rd paty calledr id software ...
Thanks ValeraVi for your reply. The link you gave me is quite close to what I wanted, it's really useful and interesting, I tried changing v0 to v2, it vibrates just for 2 seconds and stop while the ringtone (because it's a minute long) was still ringing. I'm not sure if it can vibrate for 2 seconds then stop for 1 second then vibrate for 2 seconds again and so on...? (it's something like that that I was trying to find).
I'm not sure of any third party program that has this function, would you recommend any?
thanks bro.

Interesting... I did something similar using Mortscript in combination with the registry hack "Change ringtone/vibrate/LED flash characteristics" on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry .
Basically, for every profiles I want, I made a script. The script changes the above regisry setting (some scripts ask using a yes/no dialog box if I want vibrate on or off). I have added a small twist though: the script also copies the file that is assigned as ringtone:
In one folder, I put all the ringtones I want to use (let's call them ring1, ring2, ...). In a second folder I have copies of these files (let's call these ringA, ringB, ...). The tones ringA, ringB, ... are selected as the ringtones (both for specific contacts as for the general ringtone and sms tone. The scripts for the profiles also include copy instructions, to overwrite the files ringA, ... with files from the folder where ring1, ... are stored. I suspect this will allow me to change ringtones depending on the profile I want (I have included a file with silence, to get the behaviour of call filtering).
As a list optimization, I use the registryhack "Put custom text on bottom-right of Today screen" to display the active profile on the todayscreen.
I say "suspect" for the ringtone changes, as I haven't been able to test if the phone system effectively use the files I replaced though (my device is now sent back a 2nd time for replacement ), or only reads those files once (and caches them somewhere).

My program is not changing anything in the registry. It is using documented API functions for control global sound mode of PPC. This API functions is exist only on WM5.

I check this for you - the system is using new files, i.e. the system do not cache them and re-read them in every use.

I used my method with the scripts, as I'm not a software developer but wanted this kind of functionality (scripts seemed to be the easiest way to go). I know it is far less elegant to edit the registry, but no program I found allowed for what I wanted.
What my scripts also allow, is to change the ringtone assigned for specific contacts. In my contacts, some people have their own ringtones assigned in the contacts application (for instance, my colleagues have their own, as does my family).
By using soundfiles which contain only silence, I can have a call filter functionality (e.g. copy a silent soundfile to all ringtones, except for the work-ringtone). Other calls will come through, but will be inaudible (system will play back a silent ringtone).
This filtering was something I miss in most ring-profile softwares I found.
I currently only use the registry setting to be able to make a difference between vibrate or not, but I could get the same functionality using your software...

I do not know where is located in the registry some parameter, which can control global sound mode of device. Thats why i wrote this tool, which (as i mentioned above) is used only documented Windows API functions and do not use registry. If in your script you want to control global sound mode of device - just run my program from your script with desired command line parameters.
Thanks. I've been looking for this tools for my script programming.

BTW, I'm very happy to let you know that we now have 2 versions of Configurator for S2U.

Hey guys, (posted on 31 August)
It's now udpated to v1.21, the changes are:
1. moved the phone part from SNAPI to TAPI for higher reliability
2. fixed the "Unknown/Private Caller" issue
3. added option DialedID (DWORD): it will appear when dialing a call. But there are limitations:
- it only has a "End Call" key, i.e. no key for mute, speaker, contact... etc... but it has a big pic depending on your CallerID setting.
- it only works when CloseApp is 0, CallerID is 1 or 2, DialedID is 1 & SLIDE is already running in the background. WHY? Simply because don't want to slow down the normal dialing process.

4. improved the responsiveness of keys on the Caller ID screen
5. added option to stop showing the total no. of "Active Task" - set ShowTask (DWORD) to 0
6. fixed the bug of displaying wrong "missed call" when CallerID is disabled
7. fixed the sliding date issue when a call comes in & out very quickly
8. SLIDE now awares of the running of HTC's Audio Manager
9. some bugs fixed
Please remember to RESTART iLock after any registry settings (under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\Slide2Unlock) changed, otherwise it won't work.

Hey guys, (posted on 24 August)
Just updated to v1.20, the changes are:
1. reworked part of Caller ID function (as before, you're still recommended to set CloseApp to 0 when using the CallerID function)
2. when Caller ID is enable & works, the Caller ID of the latest missed call will be alerted
3. added option Slide2Answer (DWORD, 1 is enable; 0 is disable): when a call comes in & your device is locked by SLIDE, you'll have to "slide to answer"; or press the power button to decline the call. Please test this function carefully, otherwise you'll not be able to answer any call! If your device have power off problem with the previous versions, please do not enable this option. This option will only work when CallerID is enable & SafeMode is disable.
4. added support to show the total no. of "Active Task"
5. added support to show current day's Weather info from the HTC Home plugin: set "ShowWeather" to 5
(since I have to remap the icon index of HTC to WP/PW manually, if you find any mismatch icons, pls let me know)
6. iLock now accept several command switches:
-slide to start/invoke SLIDE
-nomsg to not to show any message even it closes itself & SLIDE
-refresh to close SLIDE & reload the registry settings (except for SafeMode changes, the device need soft-reset before it's effective)
7. some bugs fixed
Please read the readme.txt for more details.

Hey guys, (posted on 2 August)
Here is another update v1.19, the changes are:
1. fixed some issues of Caller ID
2. added support to animated Wallpaper (but not GIF)
you have to make muliple frames of pics with same size and concatenated them together to a single BMP file;
add to registry - "WpFrameNo" (DWORD) with the number of frames in the file;
add to registry - "WpFrameRate" (DWORD) with the number of milliseconds the frames will be changed;
for the Landscape wallpaper, use "WpLFrameNo" & "WpLFrameRate" correspondingly
Pls be WARNED that the larger the animated BMP file, the more RAM will be consumed; and more POWER will be drained!
I've uploaded a sample (Animated Globe) at the bottom of this post, please read the readme on how to use it.
3. added user input Weather info: set "ShowWeather" to 4;
add to registry - "UserWeather" (DSTRING) with the format X|Y|H|L
where X could be S for using the weather icon from SPB; and P will use the weather icon from WP/PW;
Y is the weather icon's index no;
H is the highest temperature;
L is the lowest temperature.
e.g. S|10|30|20 means to show SPB's icon no. 10 with highest temperature 30 & lowest temperature 20
4. the weather forecast of WP & PW will not show the icons for night
5. increased the length of the paths of Wallpaper to 128
6. fixed the keyboard icon problem with Wisbar
7. some bugs fixed
Please read the readme for the details.

Hey guys, (posted on 21 July)
After more than 2 weeks, here is another update... v1.18. I'm so excited to announce that now SLIDE supports UNICODE, i.e. it shows the operator name, date & appointment details in your native language.
Secondly, it has its own Caller ID...
and a new Call Waiting Caller ID...
other changes are:
4. Appointment details can be displayed in multilple lines
5. supports the device's native screen size, make sure you have a wallpaper with proper size & enough free RAM (it may take around 6.5M)
6. SLIDE loads a bit faster
7. fixed the memory leak when WP or PW is enabled
8. some graphics changed
9. some bugs fixed
10. from v1.18, it only supports WM5 or 6
How to enable/disable Caller ID
========================
Please read this session thoroughly before attempting to enable the CallerID setting, otherwise it'll not work & you may need to soft-reset your device.
1. Please disable other 3rd party Caller ID apps.
2. As the system has a default Caller ID notification, iLock has to depress it before showing it's own Caller ID. But the problem is different Language device has to be handled differently. So far, iLock is coded to identify the system Caller ID notification in English & Traditional Chinese devices only (i.e. for these devices, simply change the value of "CallerID" as below). For other Languages, please follow these steps:
a. stop iLock.
b. try to call your device, write down the Windows TEXT of the incoming call notification (i.e. the TEXT on the top window bar, for e.g., WM6 English will be "Phone - Incoming")
c. new a registry value "IncomingText" (STRING) under "\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\Slide2Unlock" and enter EXACTLY the above TEXT
d. set "CallerID" to 1 (fullscreen mode) or 2 (thumbnail mode)
e. start iLock & SLIDE
f. try to call your device again. If there is no new Caller ID, the TEXT you just enterd is not exactly match with the system's Caller ID notification. Please repeat the above steps.
g. see the new Caller ID, enjoy!
3. It's suggested to set "CloseApp" to 0, otherwise you'll have to wait more than 1 second before you know who's calling. The downside is it'll eat about 5.5M RAM.
4. As displaying a Caller ID screen is a mission critical job, pls install SLIDE in device instead of Storage Card.
5. Sometimes, the Caller ID screen may come out more than a second after the ring begins, but it's out of iLock's control.
6. Pls do not use the built-in PIN LOCK, otherwise the Caller ID will not be shown up properly.
7. How to recover the system default Caller ID notification?
a. stop iLock
b. set CallerID to 0
c. soft-reset the device

Hey guys, (posted on 4 July)
As you may already notice that this app is recently unwelcome here, this is probably the last update.
Admin, don't panic, I'll not post any files here. Besides, the update I provided will not contain any copyright graphic files that Apple claims to have. I was wondering how you or they know this app contains the iPhone code?!
Why this patch exists? Because some nice guys provided me some great info about WeatherPanel & PocketWeather. Now, SLIDE can show weather data from these apps too. And there is some minor bug fixing as well (includes getting data from SPBWeather).
Please follow the readme file for this update & enjoy!

Don't let the buggers grind you down........off to eat my *pple pie
Hey A_C, you have been making a great contribution to the xda's real meaning, i.e. "developing". So, I'd request you to continue ur stay here..
Moreover, I think the main prob is that xda-developers cannot "host" the files here. You can still provide a rapidshare (or similar) link to ur creations. But maybe u can clear this up with admins...
Thanks so much A_C for everything, you definately have to stay.
(Won't you guys look over at www.slide2unlock.co.nr , it looks like somebody must have seen this page and updated it already )
i like this soft.thank you very much!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the application, it is a great app......
If you continue to make changes it would be great if you would add the city name for the Weather Application...
hi A_C,
just tested out the the latest v1.172 patch on my magician and it now works 100% perfect! again, thank you for looking up the WM2003se bugs!
with your hard work all said and done, slide2unlock truly has become THE most useful and must have app for the pocket pc (even surpassing the iphone's keylock app by a mile). and with this being the final release, you really know how to go out in style!
thanks A_C,

No Weather Icon Showing??
I just updated to 1.17 and added the patch. I've followed the instructions in the "readme.txt" file to a T, as follows:
Update steps:
1. install v1.17
2. stop iLock & SLIDE
3. overwrite SLIDE.EXE with the extracted file (the default path is \Program Files\Slide2Unlock\)
4. extract the weather icons to the default program path.
5. create a new registry key "ShowWeather" under "\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\Slide2Unlock"
0 is disable
1 show data from SPBWeather
2 show data from WeatherPanel
3 show data from PocketWeather
6. start iLock, & then SLIDE.
I created the new registry key from step 5 to show data from PocketWeather, which is installed to the Storage Card.
In Step 4, exactly where does the weather icons go?? I've tried copying the entire weather folder to \Program Files\Slide2Unlock, and even into the \GFX folder. I've tried putting the weather folder into the bmp folder of Pocket Weather also.
Still, I'm getting nothing as far as a weather icon. Everything else works great!! I just really need help with getting the weather icon to show. What am I missing here??
A_C, this is a really GREAT app. I've been using it ever since your initial release and keep updating (although I somehow missed the 1.16 update). Looking forward to even more excellent apps from you!!!
for some reason, the file i donwload from the link is always error, broken.
anyone kindly send me one? to my email?
thank you so much, great app!!!!! and it always wrong on my Asus a696 when i use landscape mode. wierd.

now, anyone has the same problem i have? on landscpe mode, it runs, but doesn't work.
i got Asus A696 PDA, not phone. 240*320.
thanks again!
Thanks for the great app, A_C. One of the most outstanding PPC apps ever.
Absolutely flawless.
Hey guys,
Thank you for your comment & support. Glad to hear to that you like this little app.
@newbie2
Pls make sure the key "ShowWeather" is DWORD.
The weather icons included in the patch should be placed under the folder where you installed SLIDE.
@delude
Thank you very much!
@tonyso68
It's a known problem that PPL cannot run on certain device's landscape mode. No solution yet.
Great work A_C. I have been playing with this in my custom roms for the Apache for a little while now. I would like to bring your attention to one thing that I have found in your newest version dealing with Weather Panel. Now, I did convert this to an OEM and put it in a custom 3.5 rom for the Apache. As part of the conversion, I tried to minimize the amount of copying that was necessary so it roms from \Windows instead of \Program Files. That said, I have not had any problems before the latest version.
Here is a screen shot of what is showing when I have the reg for Weather Panel enabled. As you can see, it moves the date to the bottom and is only displaying the forcasted temp with an incorrect "high temp". The actual forcasted temp at this time shoudl read --/65. Perhaps it is an incompatibility issue, but I was wondering how it reads the info from the WP data. Perhaps my version of WP is not the same as the one used to create the WP compatibility.
Sorry for the bad screehshot. I had to resize to post it. If you cannot read it, in the lower left it says "-9999/65"
Great program. Love it on my 6800.
Can anyone help direct me how to get slide2unlock to show up on my Today screen like a plugin so I only have to click once to execute it on my ppc6800?
Creating Today screen plugins doesn't look very easy.
This would be a nice feature and would make it similar to the 6800s original unlock app on the Today screen.
Just set it up to lock on wake (or idle I guess it is). Then, when you hit the power button and shut the phone off, it is locked when it comes back on.
I just installed this after having problems with some other locking apps and it's working great for me. I do have one question though. I couldn't read through the entire previous thread and I didn't see anything about this is the readme.
I see that I have slide.exe running all the time taking up 2.65mb of RAM. There's also iLock.exe taking up 15.90kb. It was my impression since iLock is in the Startup folder that it is what needs to be running to trigger slide which actually locks the device. So I killed the slide.exe process and tested, everything worked fine. However slide.exe showed back up among my running processes after locking the device.
So, should both processes be running all the time, and if so, why? If not, any idea what's going on?
Thanks again for the great app!

If anyone experiences a bug with Klaxon, please post a description of the bug, steps to reproduce the problem, and attach the \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.txt file to the post.
If any developer wants to take over this project, please contact me via a PM!
TO DO:
Support for multiple languages.
Looking for more ideas to help improve this application!
Version 2.0.0.29
Updated Klaxon to support Samsung Light Sensor
Fixed issue with device not waking up from sleep to sound alarm.
Version 2.0.0.24
Re-enabled the code that forcibly removes the Windows alarm (May cause issues with some phones).
Please use the regular download link or AppToDate (did not make a blog entry about this minor change).
You can download Klaxon from my website.
wow, sounds perfect!
i'll test it right away!
thanks!
Can you make the time the light goes on configurable (15 seconds seems too short).
Surur
I'll try this too in the morning -
Great work
Is this a replacement for the WM alarm/clock or just something on top of it?
What I would like to see:
- a TouchFlo 3D Clock layout when the alarm goes of with the current time and the alarm and snooze time posted, and a symbol that indicates if an alarm is set up or not
- allow it to have multiple alarms to set up
I have attached an image how it could look like
(the settings remain as yours... or Touch Diamond Style like in the com manager )
Really nice and fast job. I cant wait untill its done
Testing
Ok, so ive been testing it a bit this morning and discovered some bugs.
1. Cant delete alarm, nothing happens when you press the delete option.
2. If you go in to chose a alarmsignal and end up pressing Done before you find a signal, you end up back where you started without the option to change the signal, so you have to start all over making a new alarm.
3. If your screen is turned off, the alarm doesnt go off. But as soon as you press the powerkey the alarm starts..I would call this the main issue that should be fixed first.
Question: What is required to make it go to snooze? If you have the phone in your pocket while walking will it turn to snooze just by a little nudge?
Would be good if it would require a good shake
Ill keep testing! Great work mate
Great alarm clock!
But it would be nice with a working one
I have it on the table facing up and it sounds for like a 10th of a sec, then it goes to snoozing...
Little buggy right now ... but I really like the idéa!
Great work!!
Wow!!!
This will be perfect when it's finished! I had a similar app on my N95 and was thinking it would be a perfect addition to my Diamond.
I will test it but until I know it works while I am awake I don't think i'll risk as an alarm to get me up in the morning. I don't think work will be sympathetic to me being late due to testing new software for my phone
Wow! Very nice App! Wanna have!
But following improvements would be nice:
- Finger friendliy configuration. I hate the original alarm settings.
- Possibility to select the predefined sounds with a combo box. It needs much time to select a file in de windows directory by browsing. And additional possibility to browse for an mp3 file.
- Possibility to configure or enable/disable the tilt behaviour
Bugs:
- The phone wakes up and goes back to standby after 2 seconds, the sound stops too. Pretty like NisseDILLIGAF described it. Perhaps its because of S2U2 (I've 1.10b)?
good idea! but bug for me (with rom bepe 0.96) it seems that the program don't work if i turn off the sreen with the power button...

Fingerfriendly is very important for an alarm clock.

I had the same issue. I set the alarm and waited for it to go off and it did nothing until I pressed the power button to turn the screen back on.
Also once it did finally go off I turned the phone over and nothing happened.
As for editing alarms - as someone menioned once you create an alarm you can't delete it at the moment.
I look forward to an update.
first off all thanks for a great application.
installed it and got some bugs also:
if display is turned off the alarm doesn't go on until i press power button and turn display on, the alarm goes for 1 sec and then is put on snooze. the delete function works ok and +1 for me for a finger friendly config. it's very hard to select the days
VERY GOOD!... i have another idea relating this app....
you can make a screen with something (like tewwter) who disable the alarm.
I think the 80% of the people will do an automatic gesture while sleeping to deactivate the alarm: If a guy is obliged to follow, for example, a combo (random) of unidirectional shake, it is awake enough, ant the alarm can be sutdown
So, my pda ring, i flip it face down and it snooze the alarm; if i want to DEACTIVATE IT, some arrows in a random way, tell you where shake the phone and the alarm si deactivated.
Obiouvsly the arrows are an example, can be made something of different.

split the screen in to 3 boxes - randomly name them '1', '2' and '3' - press order to deactivate alarm
just the first to cross my mind - I also don't like the idea of shaking to disable....

very nice idea! shaking should be for snooze.
very nice, just what i was looking for
Yes but, if we have an accelerometer... we have to use it!
Ok, shaking is "too dangerous" but i think tilting the diamond 3 times (in a random combination) is not too dangerous, and it makes MORE EFFECT (or the app, with 1-2-3 button tap, is a common PDA application)
....however see Here
interesting not installed yet but what IF Ill have more apps with G-sensor support for example turn on/off silent mode...one shaking and I turn on silent mode and also alarm...so think about it...

4) (about the G-Alarm screen that returned to today screen) no I didn't have an alarm set for this time
8) (about the "repeats") please do some checks - also try using the virtual keyboard instead of the "-/+" buttons ... as for the thing you don't understand, let's start from the beggining: A very small wav alarm (let say a two-second sound), how is it played by G-Alarm? Auto-repeat until snooze or stop? If this is the way then it is clear.
11) I understand your point about the registry...
NEW points:
1) I hope that the confirm message boxes that you say returned in 1.0.3 ARE SWITCHABLE! (I for one do NOT want an extra confirmation after I click the button or solve the quiz)
2) How can us Touch Pro users help you?
3) Don't spend too much time refining the audio player... this is an alarm clock.
5) Keep up the good work, but take a break for New Years Eve!

finally added it to my todo list. Now I got some space for it -> there will be a new button next to the "add quick alarm" button

you are confusing me with your numbers ;-)
4) strange
8) I try everything and will fix it
-> every sound file (doesn't matter how large it is) will be repeated until you snooze/stop an alarm
2) I don't know... A friend of mine has a Sony Xperia X1, I will ask him if he has the problem, too and if he has, I think I can find the bug
if not: you have to send me your TP
3) I agree, I never wanted to change the audio player
5) who cares? there will be a new years eve next year as well ;-)
no, I really have to take a break. my "career" demands some time the next few weeks. I just wanted to release v1.0 and to fix the major bugs and then work on my doctorate
...and then you know what eh?
You need to update G-Watch with all the nice things you learned from the development of G-Alarm. (plus you need to update the icon to say "G-Watch" instead of "GWatch" for consistency... you know you are the Trademark "G-*" guy.
Hi Ageye,
thank you very much for v1 and above. This looks great and is looking always better.
Got a question though: on the today pluggin, only the next alarm is shown? we can browse them directly from it, we have to open the mnain prog ?
Thanks man .

hi deuzeff, I haven't heard from you for a long time ^^
you can cycle through the alarms by clicking on the alarm description (middle of the today plugin)
a manual will follow soon
expo7 is working on it

Oh what a great trick, thank you very much !
I was not posting much lately, but I was regularly updating your perfect alarm . I still give a (small) hand to translate (only correct mistakes would more appropriate) via my compatriot hanackin .

Congratulations. I have done a in-depth testing of this alarm app. It seems every bit as good as pocketAlarm.
Simply amazing how fast you work!
Appreciate the adding of light on during snooze. A donation has been made as promised

good for me any probleme with the new version 1.03
very good job ageye
thanks a lot for your help
Settings lost???
Installed the new version. Looks indeed great.
But lost all previous wake-up settings. Correct?
Just installed version 1.03 but testing the alarm doesn't work on my trinity as i did with 0.8.3.
The sound doesn't work when i test the alarm. When i raise the curtain i see the file is playing and the volume is at 100% but the file can only be heard when i manually raise the volume with the sound+ button.
I also noticed that when i close the app the today plugin shows the names of my alarms over each other. When i click it, it turnes back to normal.
One request: i use the buttons of my phone a lot to activate items on my today screen. Started doing so when i broke my digitiser and had to wait for an replacement for two weeks. It is not possible to operate g-alarm with buttons. Can you add some basic functionality to g-alarm to react to buttons?
Arjan
The download from your website showed as v1.0.2. Is there any error?
Thanks once again for a great job.
Blackstone v1.02 - slight problem waking up this morning (not me G-Alarm!) - had to press the power button to get the G-Alarm screen on. Alarm was loud and clear but screen asleep. On hitting snooze the screen did come on again every time after snooze time was up.
Skins and wallpaper - noticed the attached error when you try and change the wallpaper from storage card files. No problem with selecting files on the device. Also can change wallpaper and buttons but seem to be stuck with grey background in the other pages. Anyway to change this with the new version?
Thank you.
