My girlfriend is looking for a PocketPC, in terms of ergonomics, would you say this model is better for women?
I don't think it is that simple, that certain devices are better for women or men. If you have small hands, it would be good.
But is your gf a geek? My wife is for sure not, and she is very happy with her dead tree calendar/addressbook and her simple Ericsson T65 phone (and she didn't want to inherit my old Cassipeia PDA).

SOME of the women dont like messing with complicated **** all they want is to make calls and recieve and calendar etc. any phone will do. But if your woman is ready to mess with files and registry keys and not get irritated about hard-resets. If she's an avid PDA User then JAM is the way to go. But i have never seen a girl/lady carry one.

I saw a women using a magician in a popular TV sitcom (US). I remember saying outload to everyone in the room, " Look ..Look, OMG that women is using a phone just like mine." Then they just looked at me like soo. I guess they didn't understand my enthusiasm :lol:

My wife has accidentally dropped my MDA on the floor as soon as she has held it in the hands for the first time. :evil: My MDA has scratched now. I think this device will be killed soon if she'll be its owner.
I have to agree with georgexoasi. PDA/smartphone combos have so far been for techies who don't mind updating the ROM (or more likely wait for the next update, even if ther's nothing to fix).
The only stable smartphone platform I know of is Series 60 Symbian.
My P900 showed promise but dried up with a crap one handed interface and very little 'cool' software.
The iMate Jam has been the best one so far, but it still requires a weekly reboot and it still has sound quality issues etc.
If she want a smart looking phone get a razr, if she want's a gadget get the Jam!

A weekly reboot? Can you please elaborate?
he's probably talking about a soft-reset wherein your device reboots and cleans up a bit, releases ram etc etc. I do it everyday or when my device seems to be slowing down. takes only a few seconds, natural for ppcs.
Sorry to bump a 1 month old post, but I just gotta say that both my sister and my fiancee are looking at getting Jams of their own.
All it took for my sister was seeing "Who wants to be a Millionaire" and "Virtual Pool".
And my fiancee just loves all the skinning, themes, and Solitaire!
Plus they both wanted to get iPod minis until I showed them pPod with my 1gig card!!
Between the 2 of them I barely get to play with it!!
i know the qwerty keyboard has been extracted and made available..is there any way to get this awesome youtube player (its like the iphones) but on the htc diamond!

unfortunatly tru...it still is windows...but htc is doing incredible things with the today screen...i loved the original htc home...and now this is so much better...
hopefully there will be a cab soon to use this home screen on my touch.

Actually, I think the iPhone took a lot from older HTC phones and put it in their own package.

I understand what you are talking. In my opinion, Iphone also trying to be more like windows. Apple tried very hard to add Microsoft office into their phone. And they also start to open their app to 3rd party (windows had done it long time ago). I think that each phone is trying to add as much as ability they can to become the most powerful phone. It is hard to say which phone copy which phone.

The iphone was more innovative than any other phone. Appel was the first that realised that mobile Internet will be the future.

I don't think it wants to be an iPhone but an iPhone killer. Personally I (for the first time) skipped a generation and didn't get a Kaiser upgrade from my Hermes (AT&T branded) as it didn't seem as impressive as the upgrade from my Wizard to the Hermes... actually my Wizard from the Blue Angel was the most impressive jump, then I met Jose Faria ...
The HTC Raphael (Diamond with a keyboard) is definitely worth the wait I believe.
As for the iPhone, big deal. To me it's just an iPod that can phone home. The browser IS nice but that's about it. As a phone it sucks. Edge sucks. No DirectPush email sucks (so what that it'll be available in June or so they say) And the lack of a real keyboard.... SUCKS! Very few people I know are really happy with their iPhones, but then that's probably just the crowd I hang with...

their have been a handful of phones that try to imitate iphone... but the majority that dont far outway the majority that do...

Personally I believe discussing which phone is best, without specifying your needs, is pointless because it's all due to perspective. However, as far as "comapny's and people trying to imitate." Thank god they are! That's the type of competitive marketing that brings new ideas and technology. Hell, that's why the iPhone is here. That being said, I am more interested in the Raphael than the Diamond. I wasn't impressed with trying to use the OEM keyboard on the Touch, so unless they fix that, I'm loving my QWERTY. Although, if they fix it, it WOULD be nice to be able to type single-handedly..

This is not an HD2, imo. The little chrome-thingy at the side is not present at an HD2, and the part of the housing above the battery cover is too slim.

thank god! .... i don´t have to burn, smash and vaporize my HD2 ...
... or run against these strange "doorthings" ...
At a quick glance it does have the same black trim with an HD2 like battery cover, and the size looks convincing.... But I can say 100% it is a Blackberry. 3 things tip it off.
1. Wrong shape and size for the camera
2. The phone is branded Verizon on the bottom by his finger (the Verizon symbol is visible on a large screen HDTV and zoomed in).
3. His hands would be too small to hold an HD2... Just kidding The top symbol is the Blackberry logo.
And the answer is: a Blackberry Storm 2, and not his! He was given the phone with the pre programed number in it for the Jimmy Kimmel show. He owns an iPhone as seen many times in public and even recently. If you think about it, isn't the iPhone more of a kids phone as most apps and games are geared for a younger crowd?

Thanks for clearing up the confusion it's just that while I was watching the the video clip and the size of the phone seemed to point towards the HTC HD2.
And btw I'm younger than Bieber by a month and love the HTC HD2, whilst my friends play 'falldown' and 'doodle jump' Im busy fragging zombies on Medieval using FPSece

well it was simple question i asked and people start laughing and talking crap sorry i got a life and i dont know every single little thing about the phone only had the phone less than a week
as stated i remember reading an article about games that were gonna be compatible with the play at launch of course alot games made it and some didnt

and to answer the op, yes i saw the youtube video and you can tell it's fake (1. because currently graphics that high are not currently capable on mobile phones {but they have gotten pretty good}) and (2. when they "reload" the weapon they're not even pressing any buttons)

There most certainly is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that you can play on Xperia PLAY... but it's not what you think it is.

As I stated in my topic a few times, the one on Android is a tactical overhead 2D shooter, not the 3D online phenomenon most people associate that name with.
They should've named the game something else... it's actually not a bad game, but people will have that automatic bias against it not being what they think it is and hate it before they give it a chance.
so i guess in the end this is a cod game compatible with the xperia play ...a ****ty version but cod nonetheless ok all i needed to know can close thread
How could it not be possible Activision Publishing Inc. could make a good usable version of call Of duty for the Xperia Play. Look what they did For Call Of Duty Zombies on the iPhone. But it's really hard to play it on a touch screen. I am a call of duty multiplayer and zombie fan and am hoping they at least port zombies over to android. But then again they never even brought Black Ops to the PSP. So I don't expect it on the Xperia Play any time soon.
