" I took the liberties of moving our thread from general to the HD forum"

In Denmark the rumors go from HTC them self that it will come in november so all can get it as a early X-mas gift but dont know other countries :S Unforntunaly

The Swedish online store Webhallen has it listed with a release date of 2008-11-19.
http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=91090

A few weeks ago, I pre-ordered my HD from http://www.clove.co.uk/
They are guessing a mid November ship date!

Have anyone heard if this will have multitouch?
Wouldnt make sense if it didnt have it.
Batterytime seams low as well.
Hope they will have some hardware upgrades before release.

If only I can pre order HD!!!!!!
In my country there is no pre order available and I´m sure it´s going to be more than 6 months to a store to have it and very expensive.....
Hope a good friend travel to Europe soon!

Does anybody know whether Sprint US is getting this device?
Thanks.

Don't know bro, but if they are I might just jump ship. I get horrible Hsdpa on att. Iphones tie up the bandwith. Even though Sprints broadband is slower I beleive it is less congested

This is my next phone. I hope this beauty comes out soon... (I'm in the US)

Am I reading the specs right?
Is the 3G support for GSM in USA missing from this phone?
I hope I'm wrong... I would like to get this one on ATT... really don't wanna go back to sprint.

Sprint should get it. They have gotten all the flagship HTCs so far so...

Right There is no 3g Support to the US in with the Euro HD version.
Much Like Same as the Touch pro and DIamond, we will have to wait for the U.S. version.
And like I said on Tito's thread. AT&T would not introduce this iphone killer and jeopardize its exclusivity with Apple. Apple is the most marketable phone in the US. Whatever they touch turns to gold it seems. Anyways, Sprint needs to reinvent itself and they seem to be doing this by acquiring the latest phones. Only problem is that they are notorious for handicapping the **** out of them.

Does anyone know if this will be realsed on Orange UK?

Any new or rumour about navigation software ?
Rgds,

Right now we know its GSM only cause in the picture it shows 3g simple on top right corner...i highly doubt we would even see this in the States...but i can hope...man only if it support America GSM highspeed

Camcorder: 320x240 pixels , 30frame/sec
This is the reason why i'm not going to buy the HTC T HD. This has absolutely nothing in common with HD.

is this a fair critisism? There are not many phones/pda's that have good "hd" video qualities, surely the hd is reference to its wide screen and resolution which is better than most other alternatives? i guess some of us will have to buy n try, like i did with my touch cruise

Yeah, but honestly who the hell uses an ppc as a camcorder. Except of course to film there friends doing stupid things. That is the last thing I look at when picking out a phone. no offense

Samsung Marketing Director - Super Amoled+ Slip???
Listen to this CNET First Look video of the Note 2 at the 5 second mark. Ryan Bidan, Product Marketing Director, Samsung states "So this is a 5.5" Super Amoled+ HD display" then goes on to say "basically the next evolution of our super amoled technology". Could that have been a mis-statement? Or does the Note 2 really use Super Amoled Plus?

It's not 'plus' according to the show.
However, Samsung often upgrades the final product. It may be 'plus' when they ship.

LED notification still missing???
So what is the RGB Light below, in the list of sensors, taken from the press link (http://www.samsungmobilepress.com/2012/08/30/Be-Creative,-Be-Expressive-with-the-GALAXY-Note-II) ??
Sensors : Accelerometer, RGB Light, Digital Compass, Proximity, Gyro, Barometer
Is this a notification light (AT LAST!!!) or just the light sensor........?
There is a notification LED

i'll survive. hope my cell company gets this.
Firstly, what Samsung show cases will be the final shipping product. Harare
Software may change but the hardware won't.
Second point is, this isn't an RGB screen. The Verge picture proves that.
Its Pentile again, it's arranged in a rectangle pattern, but that's definitely PenTile there.
Things which Samsung hasn't confirmed include:
- battery, user replaceable (probably is)
- microSD (probably has)
- GLONASS (no clue)
Looks like this is a smaller upgrade than anyone expected. Definitely smaller upgrade than the S2 to S3.
The only advantages seen to be software and battery life. Given the right conditions, the OG NOTE can keep up with NOTE 2's performance.
I hope LG comes up with something competitive soon, otherwise Um holding on to the NOTE 1 longer than intended.

if it isn't an RGB screen, what subpixels are not evenly represented?

Saw that too. Insert/remove the external micro sd without powering off the phone. what a novel idea! Too bad the resolution is lower on this than the Note I.

I hav3 my doubts on that though.. 64 gb was for the one x plus.. Not for the one x.. So i have my doubts whether the 64 gb one will be available only for US..:/.. And 64 gb one plus will only be available later this year..
Hope there would be a 64gb for india.. I really do hope..
As prices are considered, indian htc stores have a high pricing marketing which sucks... And trust me there are htc stores in india which dont even know if a one x plus exists..(no kidding..personal experience). whereas sony amd samsung indian stores arent so pricey as compared to their htc counterparts in india

This looks great... I'll still wait and see what the S4 is like.
Looks fantastic
Storage isnt an issue for me.
The battery life couldve been better.. lets see how it performs in real life.
On paper, this could be the perfect device for me.
HTC didnt price the Butterfly too well. Wonder what this'll cost.

I am getting one as soon as it is launched...should be around 40k...lets hope its cheaper than that...

Free 25GB of Dropbox is for Sense 4 and Sense 4+ promotional activities. Sense 5 is not in the list yet. Spend some money for extra storage or make sure your loved ones join dropbox with your invitation mail and grab 500MB for each.

The 64 gb variant will definetly be for asian markets including INDIA..because we dont have carrier locked phones here..in the US carriers want people to get lower storage so they can sell their cloud storage.

Guidebook for N7 2013 LTE
In case you don't have it, it's the Nexus 7 (2013) LTE Guidebook
i know its a long shot, but it would be awesome for someone to find a way to get gsm phone call support... yes i know i could use voip but that is not very ideal... any ideas? i havent purchased yet, but will soon... would love to see this happen
Wi-fi hotspot.
Somewhere we need to maintain the status of wi-fi hotspot on various builds, updates, kernels.
Current reports say wi-fi hotspot is available out of the box, but first update kills feature. Interesting.
Same for me
let's hope that quith the full Qualcom package in the tablet it will be easier

It does on the US variant. On the EU variant tethering is still there. I would assume this is a deliberate decision from Google. Most likely under the pressure of (control freak) US carriers.

Does this mean there is a different update for US & EU variants? Or, is Tethering setting controlled via Locale settings like US or EU or other?
Are the US and EU variants on the same version?
Does anyone know if we have two (or more) different versions of the same update, or this controlled via locale setting so the US and EU versions can be same while disabling tethering, or some other tricks used by Google?
Many interesting questions. LOL

No idea, most likely the firmwares/updates are different between both variants, so would be the baseband. I am on JLS36C here. I've attached a screenshot of my "about tablet" here
I can WiFi hotspot out of box after taking update no problem here. I'm currently using the T-Mobile Sim.

I'm getting told by both Google tech support and Verizon account/tech support that the device cannot be added to a Verizon Wireless account! I've gone into a store, called verizon several times, emailed with them and have called Google and emailed with Google.
It appears it works on Verizon, but Verizon won't let it on their network if they can help it. At the store one of the clerks dropped his Verizon SIM in the tablet and it connected to the network fine.
Right now I'm having my old man pull the SIM out of his tablet that I pay for and just mail me it so I can use this sucker, he doesn't need LTE anyway.

I got my Nexus 7 LTE today and was going to root it so I could run titanium backup on my 6 week old Nexus 7 and restore to my new one but I was afraid if I rooted it that I might not be able to use the Tmobile service on it..
Any ideas if it will/will not work?

Apparently for Europe, only 32 GB version
Can I use Nexus 7 LTE to make CELLULAR phone calls?
not skype, not viber or other voip
It seems that the old n7 3G w/ Tegra 3 chip cant do it
I hope the Qualcomm S4 Pro can give me HOPE!!!
I am in HK and the LTE brand should be 3(1800) and 7 (2600). As US version does not support 2600, can I root it and flash Europe baseband to support both 1800+2600? As the chip should be the same. If yes, I will consider to purchase a US 32G lte version.
Mine arrived today and I'm loving it. It feels so much more solid than the old model. Very solid build quality and for the first time I got one with pretty much zero light bleed

LTE Root
Has anyone successfully rooted the LTE version and installed a custom recovery? If so how? Thank you!

I wonder if there will be 'Dual Sim' version like the One (M7)?
I am looking for high end dual sim phone and the One fits the bill.
I'm going to get my m8 very soon, hope that the ac version would be sold in Hong Kong, and hope there won't be any differences in software

Judging from past history, there will be a dual SIM version for the China market at the very least.
Also if you notice the SIM tray can be modified to support dual SIM.

I just went into my local Carphone Warehouse to look at the HTC One M8 display that they had.
It has cemented my love for HTC and the One series.
The build quality looked great from what I could see, nice screen, the body felt weighty and premium (although it was hard to hold the device properly - it was smothered with security tagging)
I installed Antutu Benchmarks and started to take a video of it, until a store assistant came over and started a conversation with me... "Can I help you?".
He then proceeded to ask me what handset I had, when he saw it was a One M7 he then told me that the M8 wasn't worth the upgrade (to my dismay, is this his sales technique? Abysmal).
He then told me that the M8 had a 16mp camera, at which point I laughed and said that it didn't - he doggedly tried to reassure me that it did, while I assured him that it didn't.
He did say that one good thing about the handset over my M7 was the fact that it was running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which my M7 couldn't run, I then showed him my M7 running KitKat - he asked me how and I said I'd rooted it and had installed a Custom ROM, to which his reply was "a what?".
Oh and I also spoke to him about my dislike of the onscreen buttons and the bezel, again to which he replied "what?", so I had to point out to him the difference between my HTC M7 capacitive buttons in the bezel, to the M8 onscreen buttons with added bezel.
He then got what I meant when I told him that it then made the 5" screen 4.7" effective...
I love the staff in the Carphone Warehouse!

I would have just said "Yes, it does" and showed him. Wtf does rooting/custom roms have to do with having 4.4.2??

No as the update is being released for the M7, I just happened to be rooted and have 4.4.2 installed long before the update was available for my handset.
Anyway, that's off topic, my point is that this salesman was [email protected] and didn't know anything about the beautiful HTC One M8 that he was selling.

I think you might complain about the poor signal strength and how you can't hold it without pressing the screen.

I can see the unwanted screen presses, but why would that have poor signal strength?
Dual Sim model

I wonder if there will be 'Dual Sim' version like the One (M7)?
I am looking for high end dual sim phone and the One fits the bill.

Exactly what I am looking for.
I have waited a little while before making my decision on what to buy to see if there will be a new HTC One (M8) version and it looks like there should be.
Would anything beat the HTC One (M8) as a dual sim phone except for maybe a potentially new HTC One Max (M8) dual sim phone.

I don't understand why this is what moto calls an upgrade. The display is bigger, but the pixel density is lower too, the camera is bumped to 8mp, but everything that really counts, such as the CPU, ram, and the GPU is the same. Even the battery is the same size.....c'mon moto, step it up.
I wish it had a 4.5 - 4.7" screen with an upgrade to the CPU and/or RAM and/or GPU. But I like that it has microSD, FM and front-facing speakers; I don't care about 4G at all. I'm not too concerned about battery life, since anything will be an improvement from the old Sensation that I'm replacing.

Maybe that's why they didn't changed the name. It is essentially the same phone.
Here in Brazil there are only 2 models being sold
8GB, dual sim
16GB, dual sim, DTV
Looks like the model name here is XT-1069 (online stores here are using this code to both models, needs to check)

I dunno where you got better camera from, just cause it has more mp doesn't make it better. I've seen 8mp cameras blow 13mp cameras out the water. And again, what good is a bigger screen if it isn't as sharp, not saying it's not sharp, but it's yet to be seen. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying it, and I have a first gen now, I just think they could've done better. 2gb of ram is the move they should've made, but who am I, I'm just a consumer. Also, extra, front facing speakers are awesome, if they sound good, which is lso yet to be heard. I'm a Verizon ( xt1028 ) user, which is locked down tighter than Ft. Knox. If the boot loader on the gen 2 can be unlocked and the device can be rooted, I'll be ecstatic.

For the money paid the phone is great. I'm not putting the device down, like I said, I own one myself and will be buying a new one. All I'm saying is that IMO they concentrated on the wrong things. Although the display upgrade is a beautiful thing, they definitely should've upgraded the ram. A CPU upgrade would've been nice, but certainly not that important as the Qualcomm 400 is a great SoC.

Hold on, let's also not forget that they upgraded the Wifi chip too. It now supports AC, and it's dual band instead of single band. I feel like that's pretty big.

Yes it is. I forgot about that. That's huge.
Is the dual sim model more expensive than the single sim model ?

It was initially reported to be dual band, I remember clearly reading that, but my XT1068 is single band, and now the specs on the Motorola website say single band.
Unless anyone knows different, I think its just 802.11 b/g/n

Damnnnn..... anyone know if they're releasing a Verizon prepaid version again? I'm starting to think that if they were they would've already done so.
Don't forget that Moto G 2014 has Gyroscope, Moto G (2013) has not.
Moto G or Moto G2?
I thinking about buying a Moto G but im very undecided between the two version
I had a very bad experience with a 5' screen.
Can someone point me if it is worth the new version against the old one?
PS: I thinking in the dual sim version 16gb either way.

Sorry about going off topic, but I'd love to hear about this bad 5" screen experience.
