Recorded videos on my Hermes won't play on PC!! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Okay, I'm not sure what the deal is. I just realized that the videos I record on my Hermes won't play on my PC. I've tried different codecs for it, as I have wmp11, and I have tried different media players, but the only thing that will play the videos I record on my phone is wmp10 on the phone itself!!! This is nuts! I don't want to just view them on my phone!! Does ANYBODY know a work around for this??? I don't want to have to move the videos I take onto my PC so I have space on my storage cards, and then have to move them all back to my phone when I want to watch them!! Please help!!!!

install KMPlayer on PC

Install KLM mega codec pack (free ). Should support most codecs and is better, & less painful to use than WMp ....
Cheers...

Awesome. I'm going to try it, but does either of you know if there is a codec that will allow me to watch the videos on wmp11 on my PC?? I'm assuming the klm codec will have it's own player to watch them. I want to be able to share the videos with friends. Should I get a decoder??

Okay, both of you are AWESOME!!!! I was completely wrong!! The videos play perfectly in wmp11!!! Not what I was expecting at all!!! Gracias BIG TIME!!!

No worries... KLM Codec packs just give the pc the codecs so ALL players can utilize them unlike standalone players that may have proprietry codecs...

MP4 conversion

good day.
i've noticed that when we take videos using XDA 2, it records the files as MP4. It isn't good but its not bad quality, HOWEVER, I cannot seem to play it when I transfer it to my PC.
Can anyone please suggest an MP4 to any recognizable PC format converter?
Thanks.
quicktime play them
quictime can play MP4 i think.
You can also chance the capture format to AVI
in Camera settings/Tools menu at bottom/Options
im hitting myself in the head, BOING!
thanks, im weird, hehehe.
there is also a codex u can install which will allow you to play MP4 in windows media player on your PC... i will upload it when i get home ... i use it without any problems
thanks, ill be waiting for the upload.
I've made a little research....
the videos are not recorded in mp4! They are recorded in "3GP" http://www.3gp.com
but you are right, Quicktime Player is the recommended player for 3gp files (regarding the above website).
Even the "QuickTimeAlternative" did not play the files
quicktimes does at least i've never had any issues
and it's the normal version not the pro one i use
as promised pls find the codex for windows media player, which will enable you to play MPEG4 on you PC.....like i said before its worked fine with me, i have been using it for the past 8months without any problems.
Regards.
oh just in case if you want to do you research this is where i got the codex from
http://www.mpegable.com/show/mpegableds.html
i'm not trying to be anel or anything but it's codec not codex
it's a merge of Compressor / Decompressor
where codex is a manuscript volume
shouldn't it be anAl ?
[double submit]
Can't find the delete checkbox
heh yeah well i do suppose i could blame it on that maybe the forum had a curse filter ..... but i'm not going to ...
There's also 3gp2rawavi command line utility that seems to work for the 3gp files produced by the XDAII.

Downloading videos

I'm using joox to download movies and I would like to know how can I download or sync the videos to my phone? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Could anybody tell me please how to upload movies to my phone, if it's possible? I never did it with my so I just though I try it. Thanks in advance!
fastest way would put them on your storage card via a card reader and then put the card in the phone.... I have some on mine and they work fine but I do tend to stick with just .avi format
Where do you get your videos from and how do you do it? Thanks!
I've been playing movies on my Titan with TCPMP (the core pocket media player) and everything is playing fine, plays Divx and XVid and everything.
just take your movie file and reencode it in 320x240 with wathever software you want. Personnaly, I always use PocketDivXEncoder, set it to PDA, crank the audio to 6 and an episode of 22 minutes takes around 55Mb
Man...it's frustrating when you're a novice to some things. Could you explain a little further how to download the movies to my computer and then to my phone? Now, I download the movies to a my realplayer library and I'm stuck at that point.
well, I don't know how the Realplayer thingy works, I usualy just download TV Rips (in Divx or Xvid) then reencode them. I guess google is your friend for the rest!
Ok. Thanks for what you told me anyway.

When you install Realplayer, it gives you the option to record video and audio streams from flash players, though it saves them in real format. I personally prefer SUPER (thats the name of the program), which downloads and reencodes the videos on the fly. It even has presets for several screen formats. Also, it's freeware, which helps.
Cheers.

video/codec player for tp2

Hi
I know there are a few video player out there like divx, core player and the media player itself. What I usually watch at home are
avi files, mkv, real player, not much of mp4 unless I need to transcode them myself. Someone give me some idea what I will most likely to use or be able to read smoothly with the tp2. Thank you.
Not sure what you are asking
On my T-Mobile Touch Pro2 I use the stock media player that comes on the ROM.
For movies and downloaded videos I use the "Microsoft Zune" mp4 setting for videos.
For example, on my DVD movies I have used Slysofts "AnyDVD" and CloneDVD Mobile for converting my movies into a format that will play on my TP2.
The Slysoft Clone DVD Mobile has various encoders you can select, depending on the device you have.
I spent a half day trying various settings because "Touch Pro2" was not one of the available settings. I eventually found that "Microsoft Zune (MP4)" works perfect.
Not sure if I can provide links, so just Google "Slysoft CloneDVD mobile" and the site will come up.
Hope that helps.
Sidenote: Windows WMV format also plays on the TP2 but as you might suspect the quality is horrible and it lags big time.

What? WMV is usually better quality for me.

Upgrading codecs?

i can update codecs on the multiplayer on my pc, can i do the same for multiplayer on the HD2?
Mike
i guess you mean media player. i don't know if it is possible to upgrade/install codecs for the windows media player or the manila player.
but you can try tcpmp(free) or coreplayer(commercial), these two support most codecs.
yup sorry lol.
ill have a look at the progs you suggest. i have movies that play fine on the pc but not on the phone so put this down to codec lack.
Mike
get chainfire`s video driver from this forum and the netdrgTCPMP-player and the overclock utility (just do a search in the APPS-subforum) and You will be fine with all videos ..................
i have now put tcpmp on the phone and the movies now play so big fanx ;-)
only thing is that some of the control buttons do not show up such as play and pause. they are there but are kinda black on black so i cant see em. not a biggie as i am just pleased that i can now watch book of eli on the phone.
Mike
did You reset after install ?
LeoCPUSpeed (genious mod !, makes HD2 work in lightspeed):

Just put the installer (the cab file) on to your SD card then browse to that location on your phone using file explorer and then run the installer.
Yeah, AFAIK the best one is TCPMP for windows mobile.
Transcoding video clips for the Sense video player
If you want to use the Sense video player you have to transcode most video clips.
I used HandBrake to convert my favorite clips to MP4 (H.264 AVC).
Following settings are necessary in every video transcoder so that the clips are played:
Set B-Frames and 8x8 DCT to 0.
Another option is to select "iPod" as preset and increase the bitrate to 1000 kbps and the display resolution to your needs.
Set the framerate (FPS) same as source to avoid judder.
cheers guys
So did it work. I had a similar problem? I just havent tried in a while
