microSD, my best guess - 16GB for sure, maybe even 32GB.

Micro SD is right. When it comes to size i'm not sure. I know the HTC Touch Pro goes up to 32GB so I guess the X1 will do that as well...

Are there even 16 GByte microSD cards available yet?
I've seen no shop selling them so far.

Mobymemory.com has a preorder for 16GB
http://www.mobymemory.com/micro-SD.asp

Amazon also have a preorder Sandisk 16GB card 'available':

Max size MiniSD card?

Is there a limitation with X7501/WM6 devices in the size of the expansion card? 1, 2, and 4Gb cards are common and cheap, but then there is 16Gb Class 6, cards coming out:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/20/patriot-16gb-sdhc-card-hits-retail/
Capacities like that are starting to push the Athena into the realm of UMPC's which have 32Gb SSD's.
Anyone care to comment?
Keith Walker
that a SDHC not "mini SDHC"
4GB is the MAX current size Mini-SDHC card that will work in the Athena

Oops I got excited! Well wikipedia states that the max size will be 16Gb, thats something to look forward to:

I read in another thread that someone has bought a 6 gb micro sd just recently. This should work on our device if we use the micro to mini conversion jacket.

High Capacity Memory Cards

Hello,
I'm looking at buying an 8GB SDHC card for my Kaiser, and i was wondering, will the 8GB card have any effect on battery life??
Cheers,
Rob.
I'm no expert, but I don't see why it should. Its not like an 8gb storage card is an application- its simply storage. I haven't any difference since moving up from a 2GB memory card to an 8GB memory card....
But then again, thats just my humble opinion...
Cheers for the reply, i didn't think it would make any difference either.
Just wanted to check!!
where can i get a 32 gb . I know they make one.
There are no 32GB microSDHCs just yet -- you may be thinking of full size SDHC.

MicroSD 8GB or maybe 16GB ...

Hi,
There is no any informations how much capacity microSD I can use in Touch HD. Anyone has tried 16GB? It seems that 8GB is a maximum but maby I'm wrong.
32 gb should work but 16gb is the largest available right now afaik
32 GiB is the maximum.
I have a 16gb in mine right now and it works fine. I also have an 8gb one which came free with the touch hd

Maximum HD supports is 32GB when such microSDHC card becomes available. Many website already sells 16GB accesories, and there is already a class 6 available if you're thinking of getting one. Look under accessories subforum.

Touch HD can support up up to 16G or 32G micro sd card??

Any one know Touch HD can support 16GB and 32 GB micro sd card?

That's not the answer to the question...
garyjmobey, that does not answer the OP's question
It will support 16 but i dont know anyone that has a 32GB micro SD so cannot confrm. However as it supports SDHC cards i can see no reason why it wont do 32.

Currently using Sandisk 16GB with no problems at all.
I don't see why 32GB cards will not work. I do have one of those SD to MicroSD adaptor* so if anyone wants to send me their 32GB SDHC cards I will happily test.
* Don't confuse with MicroSD to SD adaptor which is thrown in with most MicroSD cards.
I am using a Sandisk 16GB Mobile Ultra card (class 4) and it works perfectly.
Thx for u guys' replied...very appreciate
so? did it work?
hey ron!!
so did you try a 16gb card? did it work well?

16Gb no problem at all mate, works perfectly.
It is in spanish but you can see by yourself:
Memoria en tarjeta means memory in card = 15,174.66 MB.
Rgds,
Hi,
32Gb cards are hitting shop shelfs. Has anybody tried them in Blackstone?
Thanks
I have a 32GB card. No problemo...

Nice score! 32gb Class 4 micro sd

Found someone selling the 32gb Sandisk class 4 micro sd for $45usd.
I looked all over online and that's more than half from what it's selling right now.

"Someone"? You'll be very lucky if it's really 32G, be sure to check it as soon as you get it.
sounds fake to me, also they can mess with the SD card so it shows as 32GB when you stick it in a comp but will fill up much faster, im not sure if there is a proper way to test that but see if you can actually stick 32GB worth of files on the card if you choose to buy it
Do NOT buy it! It is 100% fake. I don't even think sandisk makes 32G class 4.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
I bought a real 32G Class 2 card from a vendor listed by sandisk. It is fast enough for everything I do.
Gang I ran H2testw 1.4 and it is 30986MByte so yes it is real and not fake.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...gkQrC0JVzQ1PXC3vA&sig2=BWuCUhNEDlR86_xYSyYy1w
I have a lot of experience with fakes cards so I had it tested before buying it.
Well I hope you are right. I would still try copying 30G worth of data to see if it works.
But there is absolutely no reason why a card that is better than anything around would be selling for a third of the regular price. And when something seems too good to be true it usually is.
By the way, I'm selling a bridge if anyone is interested.

doesn't guarantee its a class 4(it could easily be a class 2) and it sounds like a low quality chip considering its only 30.25GB but that's still an awesome deal

I think he does, if anyone in the US wants his phone number let me know.
IDK- the storage capacity in memory cards never matches what is says on the label and the bigger the memory card the bigger the gap is... Same with the Hard Drives.
Also my original SanDisk 16gb card that came with the MyTouch Fender edition only shows 14.8gb actual storage space instead the 16gb advertised.
This explains the gap between advertised storage capacity and actual storage capacity:

30.25GB is normal for an advertised 32G card. If I'm not mistaken it has to do with 1 GiB=2^30 bytes=1073741824 bytes while 1GB = 10^9 bytes = 1000000000. Manufacturers report on the one that will make it seem bigger (decimal) while the OS uses the other one (binary).

ya i never bothered to check my SD cards to realize they do that with flash(i knew they did that with HDDs)
PS I think you reversed the terms, I believe 1GB is 2^30

32 billion bytes is the size of the card. 1000 bytes, not 1024. Therefore the card is actually 29.8MB.
I'll still be very surprised if this Class 4 (since someone pointed out Sandisc does not make Class 4 32G cards yet!) is really 32G.

I notice the transfer rate is slow, H2TestW is filling it right now and the speed is 1.5MB.
I am testing it again to double check.
Verizon is selling Sandisk 32gb now for like $149 but an online discount of $50 so its $99 but they were sold out so I bought one from someone on eBay that got it from Verizon and they were selling it for $95 and it works perfect came in Verizon packaging and all with a SD adapter and a USB reader. Theres a bunch of people selling one from Verizon on eBay I'd say check them out they're class 2 but they write at 3mbps for me and thats good enough for me
