New Sprint TV ROM. Error at Start up - Mogul, XV6800 General

I installed the Sprint TV cab that comes with the new ROM but every time I start the application I get this message.
Unable to get billing system indicator for the MDN(12)
MDN : ##########
CID : AFB52 - 73E8C- 16332
I noticed that the value of MDN is supposed to be my phone number but it's wrong. One of the numbers does not match with my phone number and I'm pretty sure that's what the problem is but I don't know how to change my device's phone number
Does anyone know how to change the phone number on Windows Mobile???

I'm sure the information is on this forum somewhere, but I'd say just give sprint a call. I can't rem. the exact steps so I won't tell you them as I don't want you wrecking your phone due to my poor memory...
I do know when I ported my number after getting my Mogul on Tuesday I was walked through some steps punching in various codes and the like and I was able to edit the phone number and something else on my phone.

I have the same problem with my Touch Pro. How do we change the MDN without going through Sprint CS? I have had enough of their crappy CS so I would rather get the info through the helpful mates on this forum.

dial ##778# send
then enter your MSL code, select edit, then select VIEW softkey, select NAM settings, there you'll find MDN, tap and hold with stylus and edit.
Hope this helps.
Oops, I just realized how old this was. Sorry, as it's probably already been resolved for the OP long ago.

how to configure long distance calls???

Guys I already made some research here in the foruns but found nothing that could help, soo here I am asking for some help.
When I go out of my region, I need to add the operator number 36 and the region I want to call in this case 11. This is really a mess since I have to look at the number in my contat list record it on my memory and then type in the phone software this number after the 03611 number that I already explained.
I would like to know if there is a way to make it easier or even automatic. I know there is some kind of codes explained in the manual, but I think that I may be doing something wrong because I never got this to work.
Can someone help me on this?
Thanks a lot.
Felipe
I always store my phone numbers in the international format like
+CCC (AAA) XXX XXXX
where
CCC = Country code
AAA = Area / Operator code
XXX = Local Number
In this way, wherever I dial from, the correct number is dialed.

EPST help

Ok. So my HTC Mogul is kinda broke and only works in some ways. So my brother gave me his old one. And he told me to write down all the EPST numbers from my phone. So i did that..
Then when i goto the new phone. and goto edit. it asks for an unlock code..
i use GetSPC to figure it out.
Okay im in.
Now it only lets me edit the MSID number.. Not the ESN and the other like 15 that i wrote down..
So i say okay. ill try the ##data# one, and see what i can edit in that one..
It lets me change teh active profiles and the username and the SPIs..
but doesnt let me change the Home agent numbers..
Any help please.. I really want to use this phone today cause mine is falling apart slowly..
There is no way to change an ESN. The ESN is like the mac address of the phone. The ESN of the new phone is going to have to be registered w/ the phone company. as far as the other 15 numbers i have no idea.
I'm sorry, there is no legal and easy way to change (clone) your ESN. And I do not endorse that in any way. Call up your provider and give them your ESN and have it activated on your line. The MSID should be the only thinkg you change as long as both phones were on the same provider/network.
You must read at:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanGpsFix
There you will find the drivers and tools to get into the Service Programming Mode... From that mode you will be able to change anything you want...
I suggest to make a backup file from your phone at QPST. Then restore the backup file overwritting your brother's phone configuration (Load from file and Write to Phone).
It will bring back to life your configurations on your brother's phone...
Obviously, you should take your brother's phone to your service provider in order to update the new ESN now associated with your old line to get your phone totally working.
Hope this helps. I beg your pardon for my poor english, spanish is my natural.

Anyone else with caller ID problems?

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone else might be having a similar problem with 'caller [or texter] ID'.
Most networks, as I understand it, use the international dialing code when sending out texts and calls, meaning this is usually the incoming number when you recieve a text or call.
I've obviously got people programmed into my contacts who text me but when they do, I don't get their name, I get their number - with the dialling code eg. +447750500500. When I tap to go into the threaded mode, I'll get all previous contact with this person but with them identified only as the number. However if I head to the People tab, then again to see the messages I've sent/recieved with that person, I get the same messages only under the banner of their name and not the number.
I believe calls work fine with the code programmed in on their contact profile.
Anyone know why this is being caused?
I have the same problem. Both calls and text messages.
I don't think it matters if the international code is there or not.
Really frustrating not knowing who calls.
I've had this problem first time the device was initialized (right after opening the box). It might be caused by the fact I didn't have any SIM in it at that time, I'm not sure.
After a hard reset with a SIM inserted, everything started working as it's supposed to.
Hmm, I've changed the SIM, but I can't remember if it worked wih the first SIM card.
But a hard reset deletes everything, right?
There are a few things you have to be sure of:
Do not have double contacts, if you have a number (with and without operator/country prefix) twice in your list it will not show any name.
I don't know if this applies if you have a contact on your phone memory and on your sim card. I am sure it does have this problem if you have two contacts with the same number on the memory phone.
For some reason this is logic: On an incoming call, the phones checks it's phonebook and retrieves two numbers and then it does not know what to display, is it contact one, or two?
I hope this helps you out. I did not experience any problems (yet).

Try this....
1. Edit one "test number" in your contacts and remove international codes.
Just put that "test" tel number. without int. codes... And make sure that number is not stored nder another contact. (No duplicates.)
2. Then dial from that number and see if that tel# is identified. If you have just "0xx-123456" then go to #3.
3. Go to registry and change of the Caller ID match rule. (Minus one digit.)
Example: Caller ID rule:8 (Change from 8 to 7 or 6 to 5 .. trailing digits for Call ID match. )
* HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:7
4. Restart and test again...
5. If its OK, than test with SMS.
6. If its OK again , put back your international codes and test again.
7. If not go to no.3
Hope this helps.

What was happening to me before the reset was a bit different - the phone wasn't able to match anything at all - even a number called from the phonebook and stored in "recent calls" in EXACTLY the same way it's in contact, didn't match to the contact when redialed.
I think that something required for Caller ID to work gets done when the phone is first initialized, and that this step requires full access to the phone module (which the phone doesn't have without a SIM inserted and a proper PIN entered).
hi,
i encountered also that worry,
i set the HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:9
my mobile phone number to test was stored as "06xxyyzzww"
and when i phone my diamond2 from that number
the caller id is recognized
(with showing as +336wwxxyyzz)
i tested from my home phone stored in contacts as 04wwxxyyzz
i rang my topaz its was identfied as my home,
(with showing as +334wwxxyyzz)
i am in france, + is for 00 ,our phone numbers are 10 digits long
(mobiles and "home") ,
to be joined from abroad, you have to dial +33+phone number WITHOUT the first digit "0")
so the "9" value i put in the registry
if it could help you

Hi,
just stumbled over the same problem.
The old phone (HTC P330) resolved numbers from my used format 01234-56789.
Since my contacts are a mess, I have 01234-12345, +49-123456-456, +49 (0123)-456 and so on, it would be a great pain in my ass to switch every contact to +49123-456 (which the new phone resolved).
I compared the Registry-Entry from the P3300 with the TD2 and voila: TD2 was 12, P3300 had the value 8.
I changed the TD2 to value 8, reboot and now I'm happy again, the phone is getting used to my contact list

Heiko
Hi,
I'm experiencing the exactly same problem, that incomming calls or messages isn't shown by name, but only by number.
I'm all new to Windows mobile, but I tried downloading a regeditor, and experimented with different values in the CallIdMatch string. However, no succes.
I live in Denmark, where numbers look like +4512345678, where +45 is the international code. Can someone please tell me, what should be the correct value? The original values was 8.
I have further found that some contacts are recognized. What the difference is between the groups, are however unclear!
Caller ID problem, my solution
I had the same problem. But after a hard reset it seems to work just fine now. Remember to backup your downloaded programs etc before doing this.

Hi,
"8" should be the good figure for you, as in France
we have phone numbers +33987654321
and "9" is the good value for me, in:
HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:
Edit: i remove previous "edit"
in fact all my contacts had been erased" so it was normal to have no caller ID?
ps: is your carrier sendind all the figures when you're receiving calls, i mean +4512345678
so perhaps you're encountering a bug .
you should try to backup your device, with a soft like spritebackup(special price for htc owners on their webpage) and experiment an hardreset
and restore

Hi ,
did you ever try to change the following:
RegistryEdit and Decreasing the CallIDMatch from 12 to 7 solved my Issue
See below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="CallIDMatch"
Greetings from Slovenia
Hello,
that is my first post so please do not be very critical to my english level and PPC skills .
now this is an old thread but for BULGARIA the correct registry value is "9". Here the mobil numbers are as follows "08xx 123456" (9 digits without the ZERO at the very beginning). that is why the usefull number is that (default for my TD2 was 8). Now after this fix the phone can correctly identify which number i want to dial when i am inserting it by digits, instead of selecting the exact person. i do not know am i explaining correctly but i will try to put some more detail on that. When i want to dial some particular number (for example "08xx 123456") the phone select me the correct contact no matter how i put this contact in memory. with "+3598xx 123456" or only with "08xx 123456". before that intervention the phone identifies me the correct contact only if i type the digits, exactly the same way that i have added it to the memory. So i think that this registry key does not have a universal resolution. the resolution depends on how many digits is using tha particular mobile operator.
i hope that will be helpful for someone who is happy to own an HTC and is happy with it ... like Me

Ported old number to wp7 hd2

Please can someone help me.
I have recently changed from vodafone to virgin & ported my old vodafone number to new virgin sim.
My phone is showing my virgin number but when people call me on my old number the call comes through but for some reason my voicemail does not kick in when i miss a call a message comes up saying the number you are calling is unavailable.
But when i ring my voicemail it says it is setup & working.
Does the fact that my phone is showing my now cut off virgin number have anything to do with this.
IF SO HOW DO I CHANGE MY NUMBER TO SHOW UP CORRECTLY IN CALL SETTINGS.
Thank you.
HOW DO I DELETE THIS POST PUT IT IN WRONG PLACE
OK so its a Virgin Sim
Type *#67# into the key pad, after a few seconds you will get a reply, scroll down and note the number including the +44 bit
Then you need to find the Voicemail number on the phone and replace it with that one, Job Done, also the 1 key will then go direct to the VM

Strange problem on flashing to Boost Mobile. Good internet but no voice.

Hi everyone. I purchased a sanyo incognito phone, successfully activated it and followed a guide i found here on how to pfash evo to Boost Mobile. I followed all steps without any problem. Did a copy o all correct nv items, copy of nam from donor phone to evo. I successfully zeroed all location (flashed to RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.29.651.5_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_NV_1.77_CNV_release_150224_signed and then unrevoked3), did restart and found at ##786# all zeroes in mein and esn. Then successfully write donor MEID (esn was generated correctly and writed by itself). Then i put HA and AAA passwords into the phone.
What i've got now - is fully working internet with 3g (i'm not sure, but speed sems to be pretty fast), however voice and text messaging are not working. Text messaging showing error code 97 class 2, and when I'm trying to call someone i got a srange message from operator (i believe from sprint) - i attached it.
The only thing happen strange to me - when i tried to write all aaa and ha passwords with 0 profile in QPST Service Programming andter flashing it whowes me an error something like ESN has been changed or something.. However i found this on google and somebody wrote that i shouldn't worry about that - all information was written successfully.
In settings about the phone i see next information:
MEID: donors meid
Phone number: correct phone number as on the donor
IMSI: some numbers?
current username: boost mobile user name
prl 60683'baseband 2.15.00.01.01
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be gratefully appreciated! I just don't know what to do - i didn't find similar problem on the whole internet! Maybe i was looking wrong?
Thanks for everyone in advance.
and here what I've got in QXDM after writing correct meid into the EVO - check attached picture
should DIAG TX items be zeroes?

Have you done a factory reset, and re-input the ha aaa passwords. And all other info in service programming? Had to do it with two phones cause i counldnt receive incoming calls or texts. After a factory reset. Then the fresh write, all worked. I cancelled the ota but let it kick in after final reboot. Might be worth a try.

If Sprint is saying Error Code 16 Switch number whatever and is calling a representative. Your EVO has been flagged. You'll need to let the call go thru answer their identity questions about your Boost account and they will clear it. I just did it 2 days ago. NOTHING else will clear the code 16, ONLY a Sprint Security Specialist can clear it. After they reset your Boost account the voice will work.
Hooray! I did it! It works now! Thank you everyone, and especially Dean_L. Next time when i called any number the system transfered to a representative who asked me a few questions about my account and then reset it for me. Now the phone calling is working. However text message still not working. Trying to resolve that problem now. Thanks again
Fixed problem with text messaging by calling customer service. They asked me what is the phone I'm using and i said Incognito - lie, but it worked!
The only thing left - is the MMS messages. I can recieve them, but can't send! Running miui latest rom. I changed MMS apn http://mm.myboostmobile.com (through voice dialer "Open A P N"), but no luck. Is any suggestions on this? Thanks.
Finally i found the fix. It's already been here, but i will post it again. The way to send MMS is to install Go SMS Pro from the market (it's free) and change in settings different mmsc address. The "Open A P N" method is not working. Or i installed SexynSmooth rom, which is sense rom and change mmsc by dialing ##DATA# - and it worked great for me. ANd exen long text messages works too (on miui they not working, unless you install gosmspro and change settings in it to manually partition them).
I love MIUI rom - so far it's the best one, but i don't want to use those forsk like installing different apps and not gonna be able to send long text messages. Hope they will change it in future versions and will app manual mmsc to their application.
