Hello,
I have the bepe rom 0.58 for my french Polaris.
My version of radio is: 1.58.21.23
My version of protocol is : 25.65.30.04H
Where can i get the new versions of radio and/or protocol? And how to install it, keeping the bepe rom?
Thanks in advance
http://rapidshare.com/files/99464281/Polaris_ONLY_Radio_1_58_25_14_Sign_25_69_30_05.rar
Make a backup before flash, or search xda for a utility that prevent you from
a hard reset ....
Thank you very much !
But will it erase and replace my actual rom (bepe WM6.1 WWE_1.28.405.1), or simply update radio version and protocol version?
Because I want to keep my actual rom that i like very much and simply update radio and protocol versions.
Thanks in advance !
PS: And finally, how can i install swtos file? By executing what file in the rar archive? ROM.exe?
Sorry, I am a beginner with Windows Mobile and don't want to make errors ^^
Only update radio version and protocol version!

Is it the file ROM.exe? No matter if my rom is french and the file german? Thanks again
I would not recommend you to update your Radio to a test version. The test Radio is flawed and you will have problems with Bluetooth. It doesnt offer any (significant?) advantages at all, I would keep your current Radio which is stable and works.

Thanks for your help, i'll wait for a final version of radio, or a more advanced test

Suddenly my FM Radio isn't able to receive any station and the bluetooth refuses to start. I'm going back to the 21.23 radio to see if I can solve it. I tried 2 different cooked ROM (bepe's 0.58 and swtos' BlackWidow latest ROM) and it reamains the same...
Wah!!! I thought that I had the necessary files to reflash 1.58.21.23, but they were from another model! (Kaiser). Now I'm not able to find where this version is available to download. Everybody seems to have the 25.14.
Does anybody know where to download the original radio ROM version?? Thanks a lot!

I'll see in a while whether it solves my BT and FM Radio issue or not. It appears that this is a recurrent problem since I have seen some people having it. I don't know if it is because of the OS ROM or because of the Radio ROM.
It didn't work. It appears that my BT and FM Radio died. HELP! I don't know the reason and what it even more strange it that it suddenly stopped working without making any change.

I think you have a defective device.
GSM Radio has nothing to do with FM Radio .... I have change many times
my GSM radio without any problem.

This is exactly what other users reported, after flashing 1.58.25.14. Some users (including) myself got it back working after flashing the original Radio, some - obviously like you - never got their Bluetooth running again. They reported "Hardware error" when trying to switch it on.
I guess it's time to send your Polaris in for repairs...

Hi all,
I currently have the HTC Tytn with the original ROM on it. I'm on Cingular's network, and am having the problem where the call either gets dropped completely or temporarily when the phone tries to "hand off" 3G to 2G. Are any of the radio-only upgrades that are on the ftp supposed to address this issue? I'm not looking to change the ROM. I'm currently on radio verion 1.03
Thanks in advance!

I have a TyTn on Cingular as well. I upgraded to 1.20 radio ROM and haven't experienced any problems you're having moving to/from 3G areas.
Hi sf,
Thanks for the reply... are you also still on the original Tytn ROM as well? (for everything else but the radio...)
yes, i'm on the original HTC ROM, just upgraded the radio.
The best combination is the original HTC ROM + 1.16 RadioROM from what I have heard around ..
Great, thanks a ton guys. I'll give it a whirl.

I'm having much better battery performance with the HTC ROM and the 1.20 radio than I did with the 1.16 radio.
Goesto11, did you have any installation problems during or after the install with the 1.20 radio? I read a couple other posts where some additional tweaks needed to be made afterwards, but I'm thinking now that that was with the Cingular ROM.
Thanks,
SP
1.20 Radio was actually from the latest iMate ROM from what I remember .. might want to verify ..
latest Cingular RadioROM was 1.16 ..
Thanks GJ.

I am wondering the same thing. I upgraded, but I haven't driven through any of the troubled areas yet. I guess we'll see on the drive home.
I'll install it today and report on it asap. A particular area that I go through on the way home from work attempts the hand off a good 80% of the time.
Oh yeah, one more (stupid) question...
If I install the 1.20 radio, then later end up doing a hard reset... after the hard-reset, will I end up with the original HTC radio, or the updated one?
Good question .. You will then always have an updated RadioROM .. even after a hard reset
Ok cool, thanks. I'm glad it was a relatively not-too-stupid question

Yeah, I did this yesterday. Your updated Radio ROM sticks with the device.
But what about installing an entirely new ROM; this overwrites the radio ROM right?

Yes, this is correct. A "normal/standard" ROM update will overwrite the System ROM, the Extended ROM, and the Radio ROM.
I can't seem to dowload a good file to unzip. It says "not a valid pocketpc app".
The ROM updates need to be run from a WinXP PC with an ActiveSync/USB connection to the Hermes...
and remember, Flashing can be a dangerous business, even if you know what you're doing... use at your own risk!

@ Tom,
Will you include this radio rom in your B&B 4.0 release?
Great work!
I hate to ask a noob question, but....
Why should I upgrade the GSM radio?
Downloaded and flashed perfectly, cheers Pof.
A basic reason for upgrading the radio rom is that it helps make calls clearer, fixes a few (not sure of any) bugs and generally increases battery life when making calls etc.
Artemis Radio 02.95.90.. Wow!
I think clear sound and the battery drains less than radio 2.94.90.
Great Work.! cheer Pof.
Thank alot for sharing.
I think reception is better somehow, bt battery life is pretty much the same.
Okay let's give this one also a try!
Had some battery drains problem with the 2.94.90 and went back to the 93
But I hope this one is working fine again
Thanks for the post!
I have impression that in flight mode, battery life is more longer, but with phone turned on, a little shorter than original O2 radio.

Chasing the dragon?
Is there any point chasing the numbers game? Just because one of the numbers is higher doesn't mean the software is any newer!
Take a look at the WM6 upgrades from O2 for DE and UK, released at the same time. It is obvious which parts of the numbering are region codes and which are software "versions".
RUU_Artemis_O2_DE_3.4.207.2_4.1.13.41_02.88.90_Ship.exe
RUU_Artemis_O2_UK_3.4.206.2_4.1.13.28_02.67.90_Ship.exe
i.e.
both are OS 3.4.xxx.2
both are Protocol 4.1.13.xx
both are GSM 02.xx.90
So as far as I can see, GSM 02.94.90 would be exactly the same version as 02.95.90, just for a different network provider or geographical region? No doubt they have to keep track this way as each "flavour" will need to be certified individually by each regional provider.
I have radio 02.94.90 and i tried to upgrade 02.95.90 but i received the message "file is corrupted". Someone can help me?
Many thanks and sorry for my bad english!

I've rom Rom Black&Blue 4.1 . (htc p3300)
Can i make update the radio or not?
I ask bz sometimes i havent signal!
you can make the update if you have the BB 4.1 rom.
I have done so, but not found a significant improvement in the signal strength.
I do have the impression I have longer battery life now

Radio 02.67.90 versus 02.97.90
Hi!
I use the B&B ROM 4.1 by TomCodon.
My radio version seems to be the original 02.67.90 (protocol 4.1.13.28).
Should I update to radio version 02.97.90?
What would be the advantage of this update?
Is there a possibility to backup my old, original radio version before updating to a new version?
Thank you in advance....

Radio 1.54.xx.xx is not for Polaris.
You need 1.59.xx.xx or 1.65.xx.xx radio for your ROM.
Sascha
Dont use with this ROM Radio 1.54... Use ver.1.59 or 1.65...
Maybe is your radio file corrupted...
I have made a small mistake I would write the radio 1.58.xx.xx
Don´t use radio 1.58, only 1.59 or 1.65!!! Version 1.58 is not compatible with this ROM. And version 1.65 works very good.

Check your RUU package, there is no problem in flashing a different radio on 1.65.30.09, but that need to be a compatible one for this ROM as explained above.

Downgrade with radio 1.59.44.02. or with this signed radio (i haven't tested but it works as they said) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485871
I have installed this radio and now under command manager I can't activate wi-fi since the button is now greyish. Actually the wi-fi works if activated from setting but it's still annoying. Is there a way to fix it or is just a radio issue?
Rom: Kostas244_ROM3g_23016_FINAL_B1
First say hello for your first post and give us more detail about your configuration.
SPL ? ROM ? old radio ? version ?
Oh, sorry about that. I registered some month ago so I though I had alredy made some post here...Let's start all over again
Hi everyone this is my first post here and I need some help.
I just upgraded my Polaris from 3LIT3 VI (Windows 6.1) to Kostas244_ROM3g_23016_FINAL_B1 (Windows 6.5). Everything was working fine until this morning when I upgraded my radio from 1.65.30.09, that was included in my old ROM, to 1.59.46.12.
The problem is that I can't activate wi-fi from the command manager anymore because its button is now disable but if I use the connection settings to activate it everything works.
Any idea to fix this issue?
Known problem, which might sometimes occur. Try to Hardreset
once or twice and most likely the Wifi button will be available
again as sudden as it greyed out. Once it's working it will
stay working.
Olioaglio
Thank you!
After one hard reset I got back the wi-fi button. Anyway I think a sticky thread about radios with their problem and feature would be great .
What is the diffence between these two radios 1.59.42.15 (my current) and 1.59.46.12? I read that 1.59.46.12 was newer but is it recommended to upgrade? Are there any benefits to signal strength or the like?
