BETTER STATED ISSUE:
My MDA wont go into the tricolor screen. When it tries to do it, it just turns off. I then have to pull out the battery and put it back in for it to work again. How can I fix this? I want to try a different ROM. Thanks in advance.

Power off the phone completely, then press and keep holding down the camera button and at the same time Power On the phone, you have to keep pressing and holding down the camera button while Power on the phone, release it after it wakes up,hope this'll do the trick.
Cheers

Power button not working? Very weird

The power button doesn't turn on the 8125, I don't understand it. If I hold the power button along with the camera button and press the soft reset button, the phone will boot up somehow. But if I try to turn it on just using the power button, it's a no go . Anyone have any ideas?
Is this a stock 8125, or are you using a custom ROM? When did this start happening? Did you tweak anything? Please provide more information.
Sorry for creating this thread, I figured it out, the power button's solder cracked away from the board somehow, I re-soldered it and now all is good!

Power button broken!! Need help.

We dropped one of our wing's and now the ONLY thing not working is the power button at the top. I had psshutxp so I mapped "Display Switch" program to my camera button and I am using camera button to turn off the screen.
The problem I have now is when I took the battery out to change the SIM card - I don't have any way to start the phone.
I can hold the camera button and plug into my computer usb and get to the color screen where it shows the SPL and IPL numbers, is there any program or way to reboot the phone from command line, so that it can boot up?.
Please help.
Thanks.
try not holding the camera button when you plug it in.
The camera button links to the bootloader, so by not pressing it, it will skip the bootloader screen and jump to the os.

Thank you about your advice about the bootloader page... but it doesn't solve the Splash Screen is White... Apparently it seems that my rom is also no longer can be flash!! (TT)
Ok now, I have my situation solved!
I had to turn it back to the original SPL and then putinthe official ROM to make it back up to the Original state... then re Hard-spl again....
Thanks!

Reflashing the ROM

How to go to the Falshing ROM ? I got the Image from HTC.. and told me to do Vol Down plus Power on..
But I cant make it work ?
Any trick ?
Thanks
Turn the phone off completely.
Hold both volume up & volume down buttons and briefly press power on. Keep holding volume buttons till the screen comes on, then follow on-screen instructions.

That's how you reset to the factory defaults.
What you want to do is to completely turn off your device and then hold the vol-down button while tapping once on the power button.

[Q] [ask] my HTC touch wouldn't weak up after update ROM

Hi there, i am newbie. and i think i have read a lot of here to effort to revive my device.
The device wouldn't weak up again after upgrading ROM to winmo 6.5. during ROM updating, the progress was not shown on the device, and suddently reported that updating failed. Since then i can not effort to do run on bootloader mode, even i follow to press volume down + soft reset.
can anyone help me, please.
Tx.
There are many ways to enter the bootloader (from the wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:HTC_Elf.png):
Hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
-An alternative way to enter bootloader:
Switch the device off by long pressing O/I (power) button. hold down the camera button while pressing the O/I button about 1 second. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
=Alternative(universal?) bootloader(3)
As almost all htc smartphones with onboard camera, when you push and hold the camera(photo) button, and plug in usb adapter. Even a "stupid" usb power adapter will work.
Good luck!
