Has anyone sucessfully ran the PocketPutty on the Trinity with WM6?
When I do, I sometimes get a connect, but then it interrupts, with an error saying that the server has closed the connection?

OK the time to wait for login on my ssh server was set to 10 seconds.
This is a littlebit to short for Pocket Putty. Now I can connect, but I takes up to 20 seconds.
With PC-Putty it takes less than 1 second. Reason
Using PocketPutty on my Kaiser.
Install to the phone as it comes up with a fatal error if installed on the storage card

Hi all!
I have installed the WidComm stack, but since then I cannot use my i-mate as a GPRS Dial-Up Modem. When I select Dial-Up from the Bluetooth devices, after some seconds it pops up a window where I can enter my username, password and the number to be dialed. But when I press Dial, nothing more happens, just a window pops up saying "Dialing *99#..." but then I get an error message "Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem...".
I tried it with and without Hardware flow control etc., with and without AT command +cdgcont=1,"IP","internet",0,0 still no success.
On the other hand my old MS Stack lost its SSA profile somehow, so I cannot connect through that one either anymore.
Since noone is saying anything about this issue, I assume everybody is happy and has it working, am I right? :wink:
Any ideas? :?: Please help, I need it badly... :?

I think it's caused by the widcomm stack that was extracted from a non phone-edition ppc (which of course cannot be used as a modem). maybe the extracted stack from a hp 6300 works?
Funny thing is I also can't connect via IR.
l did a hard reset & voila, I can use my xda2 as a wireless bluetooth gprs modem again.

I' have the same problem with my i-mate k-jam latest WWE rom...
Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem !!!
And the connection were dropped down...
Maybe could be the SPB GPRS Monitor program ?
I've disabled all possible thing related to ActiveSync and Usb connection , either on pc and my k-jam....
I'm goin' to be crazy !!!
Only one time i was able to connect for up to 2 minute, without any problems... and then, after i've tried again to estabilish a new connection, i won't be able... it sais Error 892.... !!!

Sorry there, but it was so long ago, I cannot even remember what I did.
I have upgraded to the Prophet since Jan, and no longer using the Xda2... it's now my backup in case something happens to my Prophet.
The Bluetooth connection works fine... but sometimes the modem still "hang" and i got Error 692 or TCP Error 743... it seems that the major problems are caused by the ActiveSync, when i disable the USB connection either on my phone and on my laptop everything goes fine...
With the USB connection....no way at all ! After 2 minutes the connection is terminated.... even if i've disabled ActiveSync USB connection...

Also using BT stack (Microsoft) after few minutes my wireless modem seems still connected, but i cannot send/receive packets over the internet.
It seems like frozen !!!
And after i've clicked the "Disconnect" through the dialup connection icon on my task bar, my wireless modem doesn't respond anymore... i need to reset my device and sometimes this doesn't works at all, Windows stop responding while i'm trying to open the "Network Connections" panel... after the timeout completed and the dialup is disconnected i can open it again !
What's the problem !?

I solved the problem....
I've upgraded my MS BT stack with the Dell BT stack new update (Latitude D410).
Everything seems working fine now, i can stay connected above 15 minutes now... in this moment i'm writing throught my EDGE connection
I cannot use the USB modem... after 2 minutes i cannot send/receive packets anymore... i've disabled ActiveSync either on phone and laptop !
Some one could help with the USB and my Wizard?

I have just upgraded to an XDA Trion (Hermes) and I have got TomTom (5.21) working without too much trouble. However, as with my old Wizard my push email GPRS connection is almost always connected and TT Traffic doesn't like it. It wants a 'vanilla' GPRS connection. I could switch this manually on the Wizard (although it was a PITA), but on the Trion, TT just refuses to connect.
Is there anyway of forcing TT to use the vanilla GPRS connection ?
BTW, The GPRS connection takes an age to set up. E.g. in POP3 email, it just sits there for 90 seconds connecting before the data transfer starts.

After spending most of the day trying to connect to Tomtom services and emailing them (in vain) I got through to them on the phone <shock>
It was pretty fruitless, but it did make me look at my push email schedule and I set it down a notch to every 5 mins instead of instant, which is kind of defeating the point, but...
Soon as I did that Tomtom Plus connected. I can get traffic on the move. I can get my email in seconds.
A compromise, but at least things are coexisting...for now.

I have exactly the same problem with Tomtom traffic, could you tell me how to change my push settings - or even delete them - as I don't use push email on my tytn, having traffic back would be great.

The issue on conecting the tomtom go seems to be the removal of DUN on AKU3 bluetooth, there is a cab file which gives you the functionality back as listed eleswhere on this forum (WM6_BT_DUN.cab)

I've managed to get WM6 Pro (build: BA_WM6_HELMI_BA_WM6_R0_Public) to work well on my Blue Angel (2nd Gen). I'm trying to get the Blackberry Client to work on 02 in the UK.
After a clean build followed by installing the 4.0.0.90 the blackberry data tunnel established for about 15 minutes, disconnected and now will not reconnect. (I can replicate the clean build, install 4.0.0.90 and I get the same results every time)
I have tried each of the following software in turn after a deinstall and reset of each preceding file:

I'm really keen to get Blackberry working, It is infuriating that you can do a clean build and install the 4.0.0.90 client and a tunnel will establish but only for a few minutes before disconnecting. Once the connection has been dropped, a "register now" on the utility tab click will cause a connect to start, and give the following outputs:
Not Connected (10 secs)
Network Avaialble (10 secs)
Data Tunnel Available (1-2 secs) (gives ip addresses alternately in the 10.5.0.0 or 10.7.0.0 network or 120.12.0.0 network)
Not Connected
Any ideas?

Update: Have tried the hacking method mentioned elsewhere, same results.
Has anyone had any success with extracting the Blackberry Software from the official 02 XDA iis release software (O2_UK_XDAIIs_WWE_14000_242_11200_SHIP) from a working blue angel? Can anyone tell me where I can find some info on how to do this?
The fix is to install this file:
bbconnect_wm6_professional_bb._al_4.0.0.97.cab
you'll need to google it as I dont know where I found it!

I have the latest 6.1 Rom and tried the BB connect 4.0.0.97 and still get the same result: the BB connects for about 10 seconds then drops the connection.
You didn't have to tweak the registry?

I have installed 6.1 Kumara series Final on my O2 xda Atom. I have configured push mail on this and it is working fine for Initial 10/12 minutes.
I have noticed if there is no mail with-in 15 minute or there is not interaction for few minutes then this link goes down. Active Sync shoes "waiting for network" and only reset is option to fix this.
I was able to use for 4/5 hours when I scheduled it after 10 minutes but it consuming more battery.
Some one told me that we can change in registry and reduce the gap in pinging the server
from activesync to make the connection alive.
Can you please help me on this.

Resently I noticed that the time needed to connect to a remote server is getting bigger and bigger. I made an application that measures the time from sending a request to and getting a response from the server.
About 6 months ago I made a hard reset. At that time the server response took only 12 seconds, after 4 months it was 40 seconds. One month ago it was 55 seconds and now it is 65 seconds. I connect via gprs or 3G+, in both cases same result. I alwas use the same application that connects to the server.
The same situation is if I want to see www pages. No matter if I use IE or Opera browser and switch between http or socket connection. When I type the url address and click connect, approx. the first 50 seconds - nothing is happening, then an indication of data connection pops up at the top and the page is opening. After that when I connect to any different url address, the page opens very quickly.
I tried to delete cookies, temp files but with no effect. Something is apparently growing up in my device but don't know what. The time to connect for the first time is getting longer and longer/
My device is Acer DX900 with WM6.5.
I don't want to make a hard reset again. All advices are wellcome.
