1 Cab no IdTransfer Voice Command fix - XV6700, PPC-6700 General

This is a Voice command announce fix without the Idtransfer...
After some work a 1 cab fix is upon us. First thanks to helmi_c, LennySh, HTC, and Naigaman for the magic .dll Without your work it would not be possible.
First this has been tested for Apache with WM6 without voice command installed. Just install the .cab (voice command is included) and pair your bt headset and you will good to go no other steps necessary. No IDtransfer Just VC and fix all in 1 cab. No having to click everytime you reboot. Hope you enjoy..... http://rapidshare.com/files/63888630/VC_Fix.CAB

voice commander

i know this out there in the forum but i can't find. how do you re-install microsoft voice commander 1.5
Have a Problem Installing Microsot Voice Command Version 1.5 Upgrade ??? Read This!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are trying to install the upgrade to Microsoft Voice command version 1.5 from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmob...ateversion.mspx for your Pocket PC or Pocket PC Phone and an error message on the desktop that
“No previous version of Microsoft Voice Command US PPC 1.50 was not found on this machine. The setup cannot continue” and you do have version 1.0 or 1.01 already installed, I would suggest the below mentioned steps .
1. On the Desktop, to go Control Panel --> Add/ Remove Programs --> Look for Microsoft Voice command US PPC 1.5. Typically you would have two instances of voice command here, the other being Microsoft Voice command, which is the version 1.0 or 1.01 and the qualifying product for the upgrade which should not be uninstalled at this point.
2. Now, highlight only Microsoft Voice command US PPC 1.5 and then click remove. This install size should be around 0.09 MB or 0.07MB due to incomplete install previously.
3. Now uncradle your pocket PC / PPCPE, Tap Start --> Settings --> System Tab --> Remove Programs, If you had installed Voice command 1.01 on the Pocket PC phone.
4. Highlight Microsoft Voice command, then Click Remove in the Pocket PC. Once the software is removed from the Pocket PC and you removed the listing of Microsoft Voice command US PPC 1.5 on the desktop in the control panel.
5. Cradle your Pocket PC again and synchronize. Now run the Microsoft Voice command 1.5 Upgrade setup file which you downloaded from the MS website once again and perform the actions displayed. This should install the Voice command upgrade to V1.5 on the Pocket PC device successfully.

Problem installation voice command

Hi all,
I did the bigstorage and my qtek (which is excellent) but the problem is that voice command didn't work anymore. So i uninstalled it but impossible to instal it now on my Qtek. It stops during the installation and says "Microsoft Voice Command hadn't been installed. Start the installation program again" or something like that (it is written in french..)
Maybe anybody can help me to resolve my problem (without doing a hard reset...)
Thank you
I had the same problem with Microsoft Voice Command 1.0, I just done and uninstall and installed Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 and worked fine
Brian
1.5 works fine over here as wel!

K-Jam / Windows Mobile 5 & TomTom 5

Anyone got TomTom 5 working with Windows Mobile 5?
I received my k-Jam this morning but the setup.exe bombs out so I cannot get TT5 installed at all
any help appreciated!
thanks
Try to install the .cab file instead, it should work.
thanks but I have tried that. 3 of the 4 CAB files install but the main one (ttn.cab) - looks like its going to install ok and then you get "the file....installation was unsuccesful".
Any ideas?
Nothing on the TT site - I'm surprised that X51v or other early Windows Mobile 5 users have not been onto this one?
It seems like a problem with Activesync 4.0 initially but as the cab files don't work i guess we need a patch from them?
anyone got it working?
thanks
TomTom 5 install Problem
I had the same problem with the auto run procedure on my mini SD card.
I solved the problem by navigating to the '2577' folder and running each cab file directly on the phone (didnt use activesync). This seemed to work for me.
However, now Im having trouble with bluetooth com ports. Tomtom configuration does not show the port numbers assigned to my paired gps reciever.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=29282&highlight=tt5+kjam+qtek+wm5
Let me know how well tt5 runs on the k-jam ie how smooth etc as i'm awaiting my miniSD so can't try it yet!
TomTom Navigator 5.10 works with Windows Mobile 5 and Activesync 4 - but it's NOT easy. The instructions in this thread got it working for me (though I used COM4 instead of COM0):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=28386
Also I found that the bluetooth GPS had to be locked on to a signal for TomTom to see it at first - was fine after that.
Although my device is a HTC Universal, it has the same OS and Activesync version as your Wizard so there's no reason why it shouldn't work. Go to the above link and enjoy

I had the same problem. All cabs would install except the ttn cab. Here's how I solved it.
1. uninstall everything
2. install gps.cab
3. remove sd card and soft reset (this is the important bit)
4. install ttn.cab and this time it should work
Thanks for your help guys.
sl9; How did you get 5.1 to upgrade? After copying the files from the downloaded RAR file I tried to run the setup.exe file on the phone but get a message telling me that the file is not a valid windows mobile program (perhaps it is a smartphone program).

The setup.exe is meant to be run on your PC, it uses activesync. Obviously we know this doesn't work so the solution is to get the 5.10 upgrade from TomTom website as the ZIP FILE, NOT THE EXE - this is important
Anyway, extract the zip, and copy the directory with the 4 cab files in it to your SD card (where you have the map on). Then execute the cabs one by one, using the tip by jdee246 above if any of the cabs don't want to install.
After you install it, then the fun begins trying to get the damn thing to recognise your GPS device, see the link in my earlier post for a guide
Thanks guys - the soft reset seemed to do it. The manual install worked fine in the end.
I now have to wait for TomTom support to give me a code as I already had two a few months back so I can't report on how well it runs yet. Overall tho the Wizard/k-Jam is pretty slow - esp for screen refreshes.
I did try the BAKONL hack which I use to test TomTom on various devices but the ttn.cab on that patch just will not install for me under Win Mob 5.
thans
Thanks to all for your help.
Managed to get Tomtom 5.1 up and running. 5.1 seems to have fixed the gps connectivity problem.
The software runs on the K-JAM just as fast as it did on my QtekS110, with no problems yet.

Hello ,

Thanks for your help.....
Who had install Tomtom 5 on the K-jam ?
Because it's too hard for me and I don't understand everything .... :?
Thanks for your help !!!!
In total you have to copy 4 files from your wm2003 device and paste to wm2005 in these dir:
mobile device\tomtom\CurrentMap.dat
\TomTom\TomTom\data05.bmp (voice files on cd)
\TomTom\TomTom\data05.chk (voice files on cd
\Program Files\navigator\data.chk
\Program Files\navigator\tomtom navigator.exe
\Program Files\navigator\navigator.cfg
that's all.
data05.bmp and .chk is for example, you can choose one of your own voices.
Look this up on your device other wise i send you my files so you can try them.
Good Luck
GuidO
Thanks for your help !!!!!
I try this tomorrow ....
regards.
T-Mobile MDA Compact
Hi Guys
I seem to also be having problems with my MDA.
I can install tom-tom just fine, but for some reason it just doesnt recognise my Bluetooth GPS receiver. The receiver brand & model is as per this page:
http://www.qstarz.com/html/products_BT-Q770.htm
I have enabled COM 4 & 5 in the bluetooth settings page and configred tomtom to connect using either com4 or com5 but it just doesnt work.
Any help in solving this problem would be much appreciated!
Many Thanks!
This for all of you who are still having problems...
This is what i did to get my Tomtom working on my T-mobile MDA Compact:
1. uninstall tomtom using add/remove programs.
2. using file explorer deleted the following folders:
\tomtom
\program files\navigator
\program files\contacts navigation
3. Using a registry editor - browse the software sub-folders of HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and delete any tomtom, tomtom navigator, and/or tomtom gps/ tomtom bluetooth supprt folders.
(in order to avoid steps 1,2,3 you can also perform a hard reset after you have backed up all your data & files)
4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> DRIVERS -> BUILTIN -> BTINSerial
5. Now change the index key from 4 to 6.
6. Exit the registry editor.
7. Soft reset your MDA.
8. Now install TTN5
9. After following the initial setup prompts of TTN5 exit it.
10. Now install tomtom nav. 5.1 (update available from the tomtom website)
11. Go back into tomtom and select "change preferences"
12. Go into GPS CONFIGURATION
13. Select Other Bluetooth
14. Select COM5
15. Click Done
16. Give tomtom about 10 seconds and your GPS navigation should now work OK!!!!
Hope this helps everyone who is trying to get this to work. I have spent a lot of time trying to find a solution that works and this i feel is it!
Needless to say use this solution at your own risk - all i can say is that its worked for me!
once installed, use this procedure.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32267
It works 100%

ttn.CAB won't install despite reset
Tried installing TT5.0 on my Vario, but no luck. Like posted before, it won't install ttn.CAB. I tried:
removing all TT files, also from registry
soft reset,
installing gps.CAB,
remove SD,
soft reset,
then install ttn.CAB
but it still says 'installation failed'. Aaarrrggghhhhh
Any ideas, anyone?

Qtek 9100 + MS voice Command

Have a problem, I´m not able to install MS voice command on my 9100.
No problem with S100 runnin W2003.
But Is it it compatible with w2005?
Every time I try to do this is says: cannot install.
Why?
Please help, really want it on my 9100!
which version of voice command are you trying to install?
1.0, and then upgrade to 1.5..
That´s the only files I have. But I cannot get 1.0 to work, so its pretty hard to upgrade to 1.5...
But it worked to do this on S100
I had the same issue. I dont have it in front of me, but here's the process.
Install version 1.0. In the activesync application manager, uncheck version 1.0 so that it uninstalls from the PDA but not from the desktop. Install version 1.50.
After it goes through its install process, make sure that its checked in the activesync app manager.
Hope this helps, I had to do it a couple of times, (check version 1.0 to install, then uncheck again).

Hi!
I've tried voice command 1.5 on a qtek 9100 and it is really slowing everything down so much I had to turn it off. Starting programs, switching between them and using any program is a real pain with Voice Command enabled :-(
Does any of you have the same problem?
Regards,
// aste - writing this on the phone
Sorry no problem for me on a Qtek 9100...
I had Voice command 1.5 on my Magician (MDA Compact) which worked fine, I put it on my Wizard (Vario) and it was slowing it down so I transferred it to Storage card and it appears to be better. Only problem is on soft rest it says voice command cannot be found and you have trouble removing the warning box it sticks around for ages. When installing it also says...won't work properl on storage card, put on phone or something, but it works just fine.

Odd...

Problem Installing MS Voice Command -- Help !!!!!

I have MS voice command 1.0 and I want to install it on my new T-mobile MDA (USA) - its running windows mobile 5.0
When it downloads the cab to the MDA, it pops up an error:
"this program is being installed to "". We recommend this to be installed to MAIN MEMORY instead. YES , NO options "
If I click yes, it installs but the program does not work.
If I click no, it does not install.
What is going on ???
i had this problem, i had to do a hard reset to install it
voice command 1.0 is an old version that doesn't work well.
there is an update, voice command 1.50, which is much better and is free to those who have 1.0 installed on their PC. Check the Microsoft website for it!
Install 1.0 on the computer (don't install on the PPC!) and then install 1.50...
that should solve your problem!
Thanks!
