hello im new to the 8125 so bear with me. i have tried every which way to connect to wifi i dont have a sim in my phone i just want to use the 8125 as a PDA only using wifi as my primary connection means. i have WPA-PSK[TKIP] set up on my router my router is a 802.11g i did the registery hack in my device to g instead of b, it says connected but i cannot do anything like email or web. i have tried searching google but everything i have found has not worked my old tmobile SDA never gave me problems connecting to my router, other than it being unlocked. would unlocking my 8125 help with my wifi problem ?
Just pulled my SIM card out of my 8125 and Getting to the web was no problem so thats not the issue with yours. My 8125 is unlocked but not sure if thats your problem.Good luck

hi all, im new to PDAs and have no idea. im trying to get my XDAii on the net, network, email etc using my wireless SD through my router. the router is set up right as my friend brought his PDA round and his connected fine
on the router im using a shared key, my XDA is at out of the box state. no settings changed apart from my contacts which has been added. i know its not the SD wireless card as it worked in my friends pda. and also my router it tiptop as it worked on my friends PDA also.
Basically what im after if possible is a step by step guide how to set it up. i have the default drivers as to be honest. i cant find a site with spectec drivers. and i have the WLAN software installed. when i soft reset the card is picked up as settings/connections/advanced/network card its showing connected. but i cant get my email, internet or anything internetty to work or use the wirless setup. it tries to connect via gprs etc. i dont understand all these network profiles. all i have in there is MMS network, my work network, and my ISP
I have gone into each of these settings to try and edit these to accept my wirless(dont know why as im clueless) but there isnt anywhere to say. wiless card. it only says cellular line etc in the set up modem
Bottom line i dont know what does what. im new to PDA's
So if possible could someone give me a step by step guide on how to set it up?

Anyone had any issues with the wifi card on the V1605 or variants?? Mine will connect to a linksys router no probs but not to my Draytek 2900.
Have removed security and made sure all fimware is upto date on the router and even switched it to either B or G only but no go.
The phone now has the depod firmware and still wont connect just keeps trying and failing.
My Wizard connects perfect every time with or without WEP.
Does anyone have the Qtek or Imate firmware they want to share??
Skype runs pretty good but no use if my v1605 wont connect to my router!
I searched the forum, and didn't find any solution for this problem.
The problem is I can connect to every network except my own. I can connect with my laptop to my network, my brothers computer connects fine to it, and the router never gave me any problems until now.
The router is a WRT54GX4, i am guessing it has something to do with the latest rom 2.26 not being able to connect to it because of the mimo "feature"
I heard that older qtek roms were able to connect to the router (could someone verify this?)
If they could connect could someone give me a link to an old compatible qtek firmware (i am sorta new to this and not sure which one would work)

my phone connect wifi to any router,but my router WRT54GX4 not connect,,,phone say my router name AVAILBE,,then I click to connect 3 second it says unavailbe then 3 second it says availbe,,,,the router WRT54GX4 I use all PCpocket,notebook,,okie,,,
if some one get same problem,,then fixed it,,please share to us

I call to Linksys support ,,they on phone with me 2 hours,,with 3 technicians,,but they give up,,,
lots of people have issues with linksucks and these phones... ditch the linksucks and get a better router
I just got a "new" T-Mobile MDA Vario (UK), and after starting it, everything seems to work fine.
But when trying to connect to wireless networks, it finds them okay, but never connects to them. It just alternates between "Connecting" and "Available" in the network list.
My laptop and the other PC in the house connects to our and other WiFi networks fine, so it must be a problem with the Vario.
I've tried a factory reset with the same results.
Any suggestions what might be wrong or what might fix it?
The OS is apparently 1.3.2.2 if that helps.

had this a couple of times. my work router here worked fine after i rebooted the router.
but some networks i havent been able to get on to.
What encryption is your wireless access point/router running? and what brand is it?

It's a Linksys router, using a WEP security pass, but it won't connect to other branded routers either (local unprotected neighbourhoods ones (A Belkin, for example) that the laptop and PC can connect to just fine).
With the old XDA Mini S I used to use, it connected to the network fine then asked for the WEP Key, but this one just never connects. I've tried going into the network info and putting in the WEP Key, and it stores it and gives no 'Wrong Password" error, but still never connects.
I've upgraded the ROM to the latest official T-Mobile one (2.21.2.6 WWE) to see if that would help, but I still have the same issue.
Is switching to the I-Mate K-Jam or O2 XDA Mini S ROM simply a matter of installing it the same way I would a T-Mobile ROM update, or will that brick the phone?
My old XDA Mini S never had this issue, and I've read of a few people using the MDA Vario having the same problem, so I'm assuming it's a problem with the T-Mobile ROMs/software?

I am having the same problem. I downloaded the lastest upgrade from the T-mobile site and was still not able to connect to the internet with wifi.
And suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I tryed with T-mobile 2.26 ROM. I like to connect to my desktop pc, with ad-hoc mode. As I remember, I could connect, but the PDA didn't accept the IP address and other network settings, that provided the dhcp server. (WinXP internet connection sharing) I checked this with vxUTIL. Connection didn't work even if I setup the IP address, gateway, and DNS server manually.
I upgraded to WM6 and now the thing work well.
I've the same issue, but also noted that the device already connects to dlink routers, linksys ones's didn't work, previously with the original ROM from CINGULAR 8125 the linksys worked fine now they don't.... i recently upgraded my phone to wizard love for G4's so it's not only a tmobile issue.

first of thanks for taking a moment to read this, i have searched every where and found bits and bobs but still no luck. Basically before upgrading to WM6 i had no problems with wi-fi, since upgrading i find it difficult to connect to my secured network.
My network uses a 64bit wep key (10 character key).. it picks up the network, but when setting up it won't connect and says unavailable. I have reset router, set the router up again and even new rommed the phone. Still no luck - i then tried an unsecure neighbours network wiht his permission, and it connected fine :S
any ideas?
