Is this a Today bug? - Mogul, XV6800 General

If I am using any program, say Calendar, and I put the Mogul to sleep with the power switch, then wake it up a few minutes later with the power switch, the phone always reverts back to the Today screen. I want to put it to sleep with my Calendar showing, and wake it up right where I left off (NOT taking me back to the Today screen.
Is this a bug, or is there a way I can set the device to always wake up at the same place it went to sleep?
Thanks.

I dont personally have Titan but there are 3 options:
1. Check Settings->Today->Items. Check if the Today timeout is turned on.
2. You have battery status app installed? Check the options for the Today screen wake up.
3. Check Settings->System tab->Power. Something about Today screen after wake up.
Good luck.

It's not a bug, simply enable the "Today Timeout" on your phone like vlodeck suggested.
Another option is to enable the "calendar" item to appear on the Today screen. If you're unhappy with lack of detailed information the "calendar" item provides when enabled, you may want to check out TodayAgenda. It's a free application that allows more customization, etc.... you can find it at http://www.tiews.info/index.php?show=&lang=en

On my HTC Touch, if you have a security password set it will always revert to the Today screen. Try disabling your password.

Thanks for your help. I have run all of these suggestions and found the answer.
1. Changing the Today timeout setting had absolutely no effect. Regardless of whether it was set on or off the screen went back to Today every time I woke it up.
2. I have no battery app installed. There is no Today setting under Power.
3. Calendar is enabled on my Today screen. This had no effect on reverting to Today when it wakes up.
4. The answer - Security Password. If a Password is enabled it reverts to Today every time it wakes up, but - weirdly enough - only if the password timeout has not expired. In other words, if you turn it on and don't need to put in your password yet it goes back to Today. If you do need to put in your password it goes back to where it was and not to Today. If no Password is set at all the screen wakes up where it left off.
This I do consider a Bug and I will be looking for a new Security Password program. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Glad you were able to figure it out. If you find that having your device password protected all together is just a hassle, you may want to try setting the phone up without the default settings. Basically, when you turned your phone on for the first time there were three applications that automatically ran during the setup process. Bypassing these three programs during the initial setup of your phone will eliminate the password protection altogether. It will also allow your phone to boot-up much quicker when soft-resetting, etc.... and possibly free more memory.
In order to bypass these installations you would have to hard reset your device. After hard resetting a small dialog box pops up stating something along the line of "your device will continue the setup in 3 seconds". If you allow the device to continue it will then install these three programs i've mentioned. To bypass their installation, simply do a soft reset before the 3 second dialog box disappears. Then go into windows/startup folder and delete all three entries.

Thanks, I'll work on it this weekend. Will I lose any other functionality than password protection? What do those three programs do?
Meantime, I do need a Security Password - I have too many sensitive items on my PDA for it to fall into the wrong hands. Obviously the WM6 Security Password has been a problem for me. Anyone used a third party security code that worked well?

DeviceLock

Hello,
can I lock automatically my device by clicking on the power button before to switch the screen off? ( or is there an application that performs what i mean? )
Thank You
Have a look into VJDeviceLock or Matt's Yet Another Device Lock.

Hello, Ive tried the first one already. It seems that it's only possible to lock device by clicking every button but the power one...Is it right?
Try Battery Status plugin discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751
You can download the latest version here: http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatteryStatus_XDA_Neo_WM5_iM_cs.htm
This application does a number of things but locking your phone is one of them. I have it set up so that when I turn my prophet off (the power button) it locks.
I already have latest battery status, but I cannot set it to perform what you are saying. Can You tell me about your settings? Thank You
Start - settings - today - items - scroll to "BatteryStatus" - options - On Wakeup - check "DeviceLock"
Hope this helps.
what about...
start > settings > lock
tick the "prompt if device is unused for" and set the time to "0 Minutes" from the drop down. Then when you tund off, then on, it asks for the password.
Works fine for me!!

Device Lock

I have a wizard with WM6.
The device becomes automatically locked if left for say period of 20-30seconds.
How do I control or disable this such that only backlight is turned off?
I have the "Device Lock" today plugin seems to be doing it?

go on start>settings>personal you got app lock, select lock and change the timing of locking, beside that i wouldnt ask such lame questions
hehe, i know it's a noob question but heck I still can't find it.
I'm using NBD7.9 if it helps (maybe the mod change something).
Anyway, in Personal -> I click Lock
It brings up a screen with:
Password
_________
[Tick Box] Prompt if device unused....[x minutes]
But this is password, and not lock/unlock with time to lock
If you are using something like battery status or spbshell, there are options like "lock device on wake up" or something... try unchecking them too...
Check under start>settings>lock.
Do you have prompt if device unused checked?
That's the only setting I found after using search, using Device lock

throttle lock question

hello all...i had a quick question regarding throttle lock...the reason im using it is as an alternative to s2u2 bc that is a battery hog on my tp2...i was wondering if anyone knows through experience whether or not throttlelock will consume less battery power...also, is there a way to get it to lock whenever u put the phone into "sleep" mode (pressing the top power button to shut off the screen)...thats really the only thing i want to use it for...for example, when i press the top power button and the screen goes off, how do i get throttlelock to be whats on the screen when i "wake" the phone back up...it seems to me that the only options are to have it activate once u restart (power off and on) the phone or by pressing the throttle lock icon...i would find it very more useful if u could use it like s2u2 (turn screen off and tada!!! theres throttlelock)...can anyone help???
try smartlock. It works with the 6.5 lock and adds the functionality of locking when the phone is powered down. Search for the cab and there are instructions on what box to check to get that functionality.
will smartlock work with 6.1?
I tried s2u2 and also found that it seemed to use more power (based on readings from Homescreen++). Using throttlelock doesn't seem to have much noticable increase at all.
As for getting it to lock when you turn the screen off and wake try the following ...
Go into settings > Lock > Change 'idle time before lock' to '1' then click ok to save settings. Then exit the config go back in and change this back to '0' and 'ok'/save.
It works on my xperia as your wanting ... e.g, turn off screen using button on top, turn on and I need to enter the sequence to activate. I can't find the thread that I read the above solution on at the moment but if your struggling I will see if i can find it.
Throttlelock seems to be ok for me. It does not take much RAM, and does not consume that much power. I do have the lock thing to 0, and throttle lock comes up whenever i turn the phone on.
I used to use smartlock, but for some reason it doesnt work on the build i have!

I realise this is probably a daft suggestion but you do have autolock switch in the config?
Are you using 0.7?
Heres a link to the Throttlelock website wiki explaining the functions.
Might be of some help.
I'm having some trouble with the incoming call feature but apart from that it seems pretty stable.
I've tried the other options but the pattern unlock does it for me

Help - S7 Edge - Home Key and Recent Apps Button Not Work (and other weird problems)

A few days ago, I noticed that my home key and recent apps buttons on my S7 Edge stopped working. I was able to fix that with a simple reset a few times, but not any more, as both the Home Key and Recent Apps button no longer work at all. The only one that works is the back button.
I've searched the problem and have tried things from deleting recently installed apps to attempting to reboot in safe mode, but nothing has worked. Here is some more information about this problem, and other weird things my phone has been doing:
- I can seem to properly restart into safe mode. When I reboot with the safe mode button sequence, the words "safe mode" appear on the bottom left, until I am prompted to enter my password, and then they disappear.
- A lot of things in the Settings menu appear to be locked, so I can't change them. For example, I cant uninstall apps from the application manager anymore (the uninstall button does nothing). I can no longer change the "lock automatically" setting under lock screen and security>secure lock settings, as the only option is for the phone to lock immediately.
- I even tried a temp solution of downloading apps which allow for button overlays on the screen (e.g, Simple Control) , but itwont work because the phone won't let me turn the "service" on under Settings>Accessibility. When I try to turn the service for the app on, it says "Simple Control and secure startup can't be enable at the same time". However, if I got to Lock Screen and Security > Secure Startup, I am unable to change the option to "do not require password when device powers on". This may because my phone has an enterprise app on it which overrides certain security requirements.
- not rooted or anything like that
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes that is probably the cause of your problems. Has it recently updated? Ask the developer of that app...

Disable Magazine unlock

There's a category called "Screen lock style" in the Screen lock & passwords section of the phone's settings.
How can I add other screen locks to that list? From my limited experience, if I download another lock screen from the Play Store and enable it, after unlocking my phone with the new lock screen, it still opens the phone to Magazine Unlock, and the newly downloaded lock screen does not appear in the Screen lock style list.
My ultimate goal is to disable Magazine Unlock entirely, because I'm using the Gravity app to unlock my phone.
My phone is rooted. Hoping for a solution that doesn't involve switching ROMs.
Go to developer options and disable screen lock.

Yes, I am running stock b180 rom. I thought it was in b170 too but not 100% sure. See attached pic.
Disabling screen lock is problematic for me, I believe because of huawei's encryption settings or because I use an sd card for primary storage. Ive googled around and played with a few fixes, but no luck so far..
Fwiw, there is no such thing as replacing your lock screen.. all you're doing is disabling your devices built in security and trusting a third party app, every one of which I've tried basically amounting to adware at best and spyware/malware as the norm. I'd be very careful running those sketchy apps..

It appears I looked right passed that, because it's grayed out on my phone. It says, "Disabled by Administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
I went to Advanced Settings > Security > Device Administrators - and disabled the two apps with access, but I don't know where to go for encryption policy.
Trusted Credentials is also located in Security, but I don't know what entry I'm looking for there either.

Gravity isn't a lock screen, it's an app that wakes your phone, based on movement and tilt, without having to press the power button. I don't care about security. If my phone gets stolen, I'd rather remotely disable it from the Find My Device website than put up with constantly entering passwords and pressing buttons every few minutes. I want to enjoy my phone. I compare it to the concept of having to enter your computer's password every time you pause Netflix or walk to the kitchen and back. The security level is ridiculous. Most would-be thieves aren't going to get anything from my phone before I remotely disable it. I don't use banking apps or store important passwords on the phone. The most they'll get is my contacts list and access to my music.
Do this to disable your lockscreen password, assuming your phone is rooted:
Rename both files (e.g. add .bak to filename) :
/data/system/
gatekeeper.password.key
and
gatekeeper.pattern.key
You can easily do it with TWRP File Manager or any root File Manager.
Then reboot the phone and you should not be prompted for the phone password or pattern.
Don't forget the thanks button if this helped you .
You take full responsibility for disabling your phone's lockscreen protection - e.g. losing all your bitcoins hahaha
Awesome! Got so fed up trying to disable my screen lock, ended up just wiping the phone, lol

In the security settings you should be able to clear the encryption policy or credential storage but that does not allow you to get rid of the lockscreen period but what I stated above allows you to clear the password meaning to take away the "Disabled by Administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage." Also if you can't find the option above goto backup and reset and reset the system settings you may have to reapply your EMUI theme and your settings but I usually use Next Lock Screen being a suggestion!

My lock screen is completely disabled by turning off "screen lock" in the developer settings. That is when i turn off the screen or the phone goes to sleep, i simply tap the power button and i am on my home screen without having to swipe or enter any passwords. i did delete magazine unlock folder, emui folder and theme folder in the system folder of the phone. not sure if that makes a difference though.
"My lock screen is completely disabled by turning off "screen lock" in the developer settings." isn't possible on my phone because it's grayed out. I don't recall what led up to it getting grayed out.
The solution I posted about renaming files is the only working solution I could come up with for my case.

I just wiped the phone and re-installed b180 stock from CLS (thanks cls!!). Screen lock toggle is available. I did not setup google account or att transfer at startup. I previously unlocked my phone to use for T-Mobile. On another note, I have been trying to figure out how to get Volte calling on T-Mobile. Under the specs of the phone, it is suppose to support it but there is no setting for it by default. But, i found if i delete the ATT folder in the "cust" partition, the toggle is now in the settings. Haven't tested if it works yet though. Ive been trying to get this phone as close to stock as i can. Ive deleted emui folder, themes folder, watermark folder, magazine unlock folder, cdrom folder, most huwaei apps and all att apps. I feel like the phone is snappier now.

Those files do not exist on my phone. I am rooted, I have TWRP, and I also have the paid version of ES File Explorer, which is granted root. I did a full search on the drive too, found nothing.
To ensure we're all on the same page, I do not have a lockscreen password. Magazine unlock is a screen you see when you wake your phone, and you simply swipe up, and you're immediately taken to the home screen. I am not attempting to disable a password. I am trying to disable Magazine Unlock. The screen that shows random pics upon waking the phone.

I was hoping to not have to flash the phone. It may be my only option unless someone else understands how Magazine Unlock still works despite the fact that it's folder has been deleted from the System directory.
Have you tried disabling magazine unlock in the emui theme settings? Perhaps try the stockify theme, free on the play store?
Also, do you use an sd card for default storage?
I'm using a different theme, have internal storage as default, and still can't just select swipe to unlock (unless I rename files I posted about).

Your typing got a little messed up there at the end ("and still have can't just select"?). Not sure what you're saying, but I have removed the files you suggested, and I still must swipe to get to the home screen. I want to only have to press the power button to wake the phone, and then go directly to home. No swipe.

The swipe screen is there for protection in case the phone is in your pocket. I don't think you can avoid it as it's a safety feature.
