Keyboard Special Key Problems - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I recently unlocked using v3a and I've noticed afterwards that my keyboard "special/function" (the blue dot in the lower left corner... dont know what its officially called) reassigned some keys. For example, when I press the blue dot and the key "A"... instead of inputting a ":" (which is what is written on the key in blue), I get a "_" (other examples include dot+Q = "!", dot+W = "@"). I tried flashing to att official wm6... as well as reflashing back to stock cingular wm5... the problem is still there. i know for a fact that it was working properly before I performed the initial unlocking.
If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know. It's not a huge problem, but is a little annoying. Thanks in advanced for any input.
I am a newb so please feel free to direct me to a thread if this answer has already been discussed (I ran a search but found nothing).

Hard buttons config

Hi all
Can anyone send me the following registry key (and subkeys) please (of the HTC TyTN / Hermes)
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Keys
I have a problem with my power button and I've discovered that some values are missing in this registry key.
P.S.: If possible, please send me the configuration from an original rom without any third party software.
Many thanks!

Yes, until now I had not noticed that but that is indeed true on mine. I have also not carried out any customisation or even reset any of these buttons (well since last HR anyway)
Mike
Hi again Mike!
Ok, I've deleted the "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C5" key and now the power button works perfectly.
I have wisbar advance 2 installed and probably, somehow I think, messing arround in his settings has created the power button mapping and that makes his behaviour anoying...
Maybe this is a solution for some other people with this problem. I've seen there are more people in the forum with the "power button problem".
Many thanks.
Power Button
Good news.
Had not seen others with the problem of the "power button" but if I spot them I'll link to here and by repeating power button problem hopefully searches will lead here!!!!
Mike

Well now, I wonder!
Perhaps you could write up a detailed piece on exactly what was happening and then the exact detail of what you did/changed. I have a pretty good picture but if you get the time the old blow by blow account would be useful.
Cheers
Mike
going to bed now-enough problems for one day!!!
Mike,
sorry but I dont know exactly what you want to say with "old blow by blow account". My native language is not english and I dont know that expression.
I can say that my power/toggle screen button becomes "non responsive" in the past couple of days, sometimes works after 3/4 presses or after a long press but other times I need to do a sw reset pressing with the stylus in the reset button/hole.
What I did to fix this malfunction is what I've described in this thread's 5 post (here)
I've used resco's Registry Editor and deleted the key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C5" and all of it's contents.
Now the power/toggle screen button works perfectly!
If you need some more information, just do has one of our tv commercial
"explains it as if I am too much donkey"
Cheers,
Nero
I'm from Portugal.. same GMT, sweet dreams
Would this make it in a wizard too?
Hi guys, I have a wizard with the power button inoperant, everything else looks work fine... I tried several tricks given in the forums and those are great to power it off but not for turning on the phone niether the display on. Would this make it in the wizard too?
Luiggi, take a backup of your registry (Everyone should before registry editing), and just try it!

Hi Guys,

Thank you Vijay I took a look to the 8125 registry and is quite different, i´m afraid this wouldn´t work for the Wizard. I´ve tried also a couple of your programas (VJKeypress and VJEscahaton) but can´t help either, my problem is to turn the phone on (i´ve been using softreset during a connection to the power supply) and all indicates that this is a hardware issue... any thoughts?
Take a full backup (eg SPB Backup) then hardreset. Test if a clean rom still has the problem. If it does, it's a hardware issue, get it repaired.
Otherwise, if it's software, list what you've got or rebuild your installation.

I follow your advice and @ 80% of flashing stalls for awhile with the progress bar in red, after some minutes proceeded turning the progress bar in blue color and @ 95% progress I got ERROR326 : INVALID COMMAND "With the legend "This NBF file can not be used for your phone. Please check your NBF file" The screen was white with the 95% progress bar and lost connection with the PC, I tried a softreset and what I got was the tricolor scren with IPL / SPL data and RUU at the top right. I´m afraid that we have another G4 casualty...
And few hours later.......
I reflashed the phone with RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G4 this time it went to the 100% progress and the congratulation screen for a succesful flashing, however stalls in bootloader screen (this time without the RUU inthe top right), whenever I do a softreset (since the on / off button still is not working) The HTC innovation splash screen shows up, then disappears and my Wizard returns to the bootloader mode. I think I should be moving to the Wizard forums, thank you VJ!

How to Hardreset?

Sorry, for the noob-question, but Ive been searching this forum and all I found, is the statement, that Herald is Hardreseted the same way like wizard and that its written down in the wiki.
The wiki says "Press both softkeys". Since there are three softkeys (Commanager, Camera and voicetrainer) I'm a little confused right now.
Can someone provide with that information? Version for a 3-year-old preferred

SOftkeys are the two under the touchscreen.
It is called "softkey" because when on touchscreen it shows e.g. calendar - you can touch screnn or the two buttons under this = softkey
so left and right softkey =hold and then bush softreset button with stylos.
lol
Ummm...this explains a lot. Thank you...

Registry help aligning Prophet screen

I would like some help.
Part of my Prophet screen doesn't work anymore.
This means aligning is hell.
I would like to squeeze some more life out of the thing ...
Especially with guys like Gullum, Cloudifa, and all the other ones ...
I have already found out the registry key is
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH\Calibration settings
I have only found values for elf, atom and others on the net.
But they are not yet as close to Prophet (atom is OK except for the far right side of the screen (scroll ...)
Could someone please be able to give me the values on their prophet ?
Want to post it instead of messaging directly to keep this on the forum for others.
If I should have missed an earlies posting woth the settings, sorry, please then redirect me.

These values are unique to each device. If every device was the same, there would be no need for this!
From my ROM setup: 1839,1997 3118,684 3126,3328 577,3291 602,690
Thanks !
I know about the unique settings, but with your prophet settings I can try to come closer thn woth settings fora completely different device, and maybe tweak a bit more myself through remot registry editor.
Thanks again!
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH\Calibration settings
1942,1963 3228,622 3197,3268 664,3267 675,653

You need a registry editor. If you just want to realign the screen, hold the windows hardware button and then press the centre d-pad button.
salll
tnx...but my PDA doesn't allow to finish the align screen process, one of the corners i can't align it...maybe phisical problem???

Maybe a hardware issue...
Try using a registry editor (I'd use this) to edit the settings using those above... May not be perfect but may help....

Touch Screen Answer Button doesn't work

Has anyone encountered this problem??
On an incoming call, I attempt to press "ANSWER" on the touch screen and nothing happens. Pressing "IGNORE" seems to work.
I have the following installed:
- Gyrator 2
- Diamond Tweak 0.5.3
- TF3D Configuration 0.6.7
- AppToDate
Could any of these be creating some form of conflict? I know I should probably delete one by one, but was wondering if anyone else has heard of this.
Thanks
Lee

I have the following in Windows\Startup\....
- GAlarm Reload
- Personalizer
- poutlook
- Services
- Voice Command
Also, it seems to be an intermittent problem, which makes it even more frustrating!!
Nooo all good there I was wondering if you had a keydisabler, but you dont.
When things go sour on you phone you should preform a hard reset that solves all problems.
Greets.
I know this is my first post but my answer key became unresponsive when I changed the pressure sensitivity of my screen...
I used the values people posted on the forum and everything else was fine but the green answer key on the screen wasn't working properly. I changed the values back and it works fine now!

Could you please tell me where in the registry you made those changes so I could check the values. Also, let me know what values you have listed so I can compare.
Thanks

[Q] Joypad problem - "landscape crazy buttons"

hi, does anyone here already had a problem like mine?
Last weekend I installed on my treo the Wisbar Advanced Desktop 4, and I don´t know wtf happens, but my joypad inverted some buttons, like it was in landscape mode.
I unistalled the software, but the problems are still on the phone. When I click "right" it goes to "down". When I clik "down"m it goes to "left". Left goes up and up goes right. And I have no ideia what to do.
In time: here is a tip that have no links to my problems. In "today", if you click and hold on clock that appears on top (at left of task manager), you can change it to "analog" or "digital".
Thanks for attention!
remember to search
found this on another thread, well... two different ones. search is key and thanks for the tip, i forgot about that...
