Surf to internet from USB - P3600 General

Hallo all ......
I have connected the pda to the PC through usb and would want to be able to us to surf in Internet…. I have one net with ADSL and router and dhcp… With the wireless all ok… But through USB it does not want any to know… How I must shape the device?
Thank you
----------
Ho collegato il pda al pc tramite usb e vorrei poterci navigare in internet .... Ho una rete con adsl e router e dhcp... Con il wireless tutto ok... Ma tramite USB non ne vuole sapere ... Come devo configurare il dispositivo ??

when connected to activesync
and the pda set to use my network rather then my isp
it should have the same network connection as the pc
it dont matter if the pda is connected to activesync using bluetooth, usb or an old serial cable

USB
You can use internet sharing in start menu.dial up through there use gprs or
3g connection depend on your operator.

I think he wants to surf the internet on a trinity using a pc's connection and not vice versa...

It may be worth going into the PC version of AS, and in the Options settings, change the 'Connects To:' to 'The Internet' rather then 'Auto', which is the default.

I use it, but I've to disable "USB enhanced mode".

TYTN & WIFI

HI,
I hope someone could help me.
I have a problem with my TYTN.When I'm connected to WIFI and I tried to launch IE, TYTN launch a connection with GPRS instead of using WIFI  .
Do you know any tips or tricks to force a wifi connection when I'm using IE?
It occurs if the WIFI connection is not fully established.
When you say "I'm connected to Wifi", if you check by clicking on the icon in the upper bar, can you see "WIFI: connected to xxxx" ?
Hey man, I think you can save my life.
YEs I can see it and I'm also using wireless program to see the status of the WIFI and BT on the TOday screen. I'm really connected.
I'm also using SFR as a Provider an they charged me extra due to the fact that when I'm connecting to WIFI it launch a GPRS connection.
I really want to force the TYTN to use the wifi connection, I didn't had any problem with my old qtek9100.
If I remove all my connection setting then I can connect to Wifi.
Something is not proper set in my device.
BTW, Can You send me the cab that you used to set all your connection with SFR (WAP, WEB, MMS)?
Check under Settings - Connections - Connections, if your GPRS settings are set under "My ISP" or "My Work Network". If you don't need to use proxy servers I recommend you to put them under "My ISP", so you don't have troubles. Then go to "Advanced" and make sure that you have this settings:
Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: My ISP.
Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using: My Work Network.
Then go to Settings - Connections - Network Cards. Select your WIFI card, and make sure that you have this setting:
My Network card connects to: The Internet
BUT if you have your GPRS setting under "MY work network" then, here put "Work"), it just has to be _the same_ as in GPRS settings, so wifi is prefered over GPRS.
Hope that helps!

Pof gave you good steps, you should follow them.

I configured manually, send me a MP if you want the full settings.
By the way, you can call SFR and tell them you have a v1640 and the will provide you the configuration step (even if it's not the same phone: HTC universal, it is the same parameters).
Thanks for yours replies.
But it still doesn't work, I have already modified to make work like Pof recommend it to me.
I also call to my provider to make set the internet connection properly.
But it is not working  I'm still have the GPRS connection when I'm connected to WIFI.

I forgot to say that you have to "disable" wifi and "enable" it again every time you do changes in the Network Card settings. Probably this is the problem, i don't know, if it is not this, then try doing a hardreset and setup everything again from the begining...
SORRY but I reply in french as it is easier for us. I'll post the translation later.
Hello !

Can't connect to my belkin router

Hi,
I bought a new router http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=372043
along with a usb wirelless adapter http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=372137 and I can't connect to it with my 8525. It sees it with a perfect signal and available. I hit connect and says connecting then goes available again and after a couple of tries all available network showed unavailable. I need to reboot my cell phone to see wireless network again ... I connect to other network without any problem.
If you have any idea I will be more then pleased to hear them.
Thanks
Have you enabled any wireless security mode on the router wep or wep for example?
Yes, I have tried wep 64bit, wpa, wpa2 I even tried no security and they acted all the same. I tried every chanel 1 to 11. I have also updated the firmware with the U.K version which is the newest. Maybe there is a radio version which is compatible??

The radio stack that we can flash has nothing to do with wifi.
There are many reasons why the phone might not connect to a given wifi network. Some of them you seem to have checked.
Encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2 with or without AES or TKIP)
MAC address filtering
DHCP address assignment
Occasionally my phone says that my wifi network isn't available when I know it is. Manually telling the phone to try to connect to it seems to kick it and it then sees the network.
Go figure, eh?
What/how is your network set up?
Are you using MAC filtering?
Does your ssid have any characters in it besides alphanumeric ones?
Is your network statically or dynamically assigning IP's?
Hi Jdc,
My connection type is dynamic. MAC Address Filtering is not enable. I have changed the ssid for c3rv0 . I am not sure to get what you mean by how my network's set-up ? I have a laptop wirelessly connected and a desktop connected through wire (and they both work).
Thanks guys !

What is the physical setup? Does to go from cable modem/dsl modem/OC3 demux to the belkin? Is there a switch involved anywhere in here?
You state that you have a lapdog talking to the LAN via wifi... What did you do to get that working?

What good will that do? The OP is having connectivity issues, not name resolution issues.
Hi Jdc,
Ok my isp is Videotron (cable). And I am wired from the modem to the router. I am a 100% sure it's the blekin cause I had another router just before I bought this one. It's a matter of settings I am pretty sure or compatibility... I took a look on google advanced search to seek through the forum and I don't seem to be the only one having this issue. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=belkin+router&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&lr=&as_filetype=&ft=i&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com&as_qdr=all&as_rights=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images

Looking at the links you posted via the google search, turn off the N crap and make the wireless side of it use B and G only, if nothing else but testing.
Personally, I'm avoiding any N device. It's not a standard yet.

WIFI problem !?!?!?!?!

i want to use my pc's internet ( adsl ) trough my ppc's wifi ......
should i use any program or what ????
My windows is XP and My phone is Diamond Wm6.1 ( I think you wanna know that ) )
If you have the adsl modem connected by usb or rj45 them you must get a usb/wifi adapter and plug it in the pc. No additional software is necessary.
Best way is to have a wifi adsl router so you dont need the pc to be turn on to use the wifi.

How to use android as wifi USB card on Win for LAN?

I have:
PC#1 with Win 10 x64
Samsung S3 mini (without the sim card, connects to the my ISP router via wifi)
ISP router
NAS and other PCs connected via utp cable to the ISP router
PC#1 is to far from the router to be connected via utp cable so I need to do it via wifi but I don't have proper wifi card, so I've connected the S3 mini to the PC#1 via USB cable and enabled "USB tethering". And it works for surfing the net on PC#1 just fine. Problem is that I can't connect via Network neighbourhood from PC#1 to the other devices on the LAN, like NAS and other PCs but I can ping them or use their web gui. I just can't see them on the network but I can connect to NAS by entering its IP in browser but the only way to send or receive files from it is by enabling FTP on NAS and connecting through FTP client from PC#1.
A S3's status (on the phone) says it's IP is 192.168.42.129 thru USB to PC#1, but the IP from S3's wifi connection to the router is 192.168.0.105. So as far I can tell, the phone has two IP's: one for it's connection to the PC and the other to it's connection to the router
Here are IP addresses:
PC#1: 192.168.42.130
S3 USB: 192.168.42.129
S3 WiFi: 192.168.0.105
ISP Router: 192.168.0.1
NAS: 192.168.0.64
I've also tested the same "phone to PC via USB and then trough tethering to the router" connection with other phone (S10) and other PC (PC#2) on the same network, and they all have the same problem: I can ping IPs of other devices but I can't access them via Windows network neighbourhood connection
Is there a way to enable my PC#1 to be able to connect to other PCs and NAS via current setup (my accessing LAN on ISP router via tethered connection) and if yes, how to do it?

Have you tried Tetrd USB Tethering & Reverse Tethering (NoRoot) ? I don't know how all of it works but Tetrd connects android as an accessory and claims that you can transfer files with all devices on network. The tethering worked worked great on a phone that carrier has blocked so I have no doubt that it will do what it claims. It's on play store and you get download link for server in app. Free to try so can't hurt.
It's ... technically possible. If you don't know about networking, this answer won't be very useful though.
Problem: Your phone is acting as a ROUTER between the wifi network and the USB network. Certain kinds of traffic (mainly broadcasts) does not pass from one network to another. Browsing a network involves sending broadcasts.
I see 3 options to deal with this (in increasing complexity).
Option 1: Live without browsing.
While browsing of network stuff is broken by the router between your PC and the network, actually using services from those machines should work. For example, you can just do \\machine to access the machine without browsing to it, or even \\machine\share to jump straight to a share on that machine. Depending on if you have DNS going on your network, you may need to use an IP address: \\192.168.x.x (look it up on the destination machine)
Option 2: VPN to your network.
If the main router (not the phone) on your wifi network can host a VPN endpoint, your PC could connect to that. It's fairly simple to do, but it's kinda rare for routers to even do things lke this.
Option 3: Bridge the networks.
What you want is for the phone to BRIDGE the wifi and USB networks. This will turn the USB network into an extension of the wifi network.
If your phone is running stock, un-rooted Android I doubt there's any solution for you.
If you have root, and if brctl is present (or you can get it on there) then you can use it to bridge the wifi and usb network interfaces. Depending on what they've stripped out, this may require changes to the kernel.
You may need to stop the DHCP server that's currently running on the USB interface.
Automating any of this might be fun... but running a script should be doable.
Maybe there's helper scripts/apps for Android for number 3? I have never attempted this using an Android phone so I just don't know.
Connectify hotspot ? What about pda.net there's another window program that transforms pdanet to router maybe Nofi .

Twisted-Pair-Kabel – Wikipedia
de.wikipedia.org
UTP
so if your PC#1 isnt more then 100 meters far away...you can use utp cable without having pipi in your eyes and without wasting your time by tinker with the s3....btw the s3 have only 2,4ghz Wifi with around 72mbits max.
thats useless my friend
