Is there JASJAR With 128 Ram - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

HELLo
Is there Jasjar With 128 Ram as a second edition ???
thx

afaik there is no support for >64mb ram in windows mobile. therefore no version of uni or any other device. even if you add ram to uni (there are slots for it).

I thought the Athena had 128mb ram

Yes, it has.

wrong, ba and hima have 128mb
universal used to (pre-production) have 128mb, hence the extra slots. however just soldering the memory is not enough, something else (hardware, proabbly capacitor) must be added before the motherboard detects it. after then it is an easy modification to make wm5/6 see it

ba and hima don't have the 64mb flash tho? they use 64mb of it for storage therefore still 64mb ram.
i'm fairly sure someone tried it and it didn't work.

You are wrong, any wm support up to 512 mb of ram... and ce 6 even more. somehow the only way to have 128 in uni is to open a pre-production and see how it is soldered. one guy had a uni with 128 ram and wm2k3se, but he cracked the screen and the money he got for his 128 mb board and 2k3 rom was enough to buy a new one, with 64mb

Universal with 256 Mb RAM?

I read that this should be possible. Anyone has news if there is/should arrive a versione with double RAM. Anyone has experience in solder them?
It has only two additional expansion spots...making it possible to upgrade to 128mb of total ram. This would be heavenly and more than ample for wm5! People have tried adding the additional RAM onto the device, however, wm5 doesnt seem to detect the additional ram added for some reason :-(
The case remains dead as of now, hopefully ppctechs.com would figure out and provide an upgrade soon!

will i be able to resist
Vista running on 64mb of RAM? Surely some mistake.... That would be painful to use.
Its a dual boot device... for WM6 it uses 64mb of ram.... but for vista its 1 GB.... only thing i cant figure out is how to run WM6 if the Intel A110 (dothan) is not a Arm processor.... Emulate WM6???

I've heard that mentioned before, but there is no mention of it in the description on the Expansys website.
Key Features
- 7-inch widescreen display
- 30-gigabyte hard drive
- QWERTY keyboard
- Microsoft Vista Business OS
- Windows Media Player 11
- Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA
- WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0
etc...
Let's watch this space...
If this thing doesn't come with Athena specs on the PPC side of things it'll be a waste of time for die hard PPC users!
It should have at least 128 if not 256MB RAM, and as for the CPU..we'll just have to wait and see...HTC haven't released anything of late or ever that wasn't fit for purpose.

it can be true?
as long asThis UMPC-like device will run Windows Vista Business and come with Microsoft Office.
It will have 64 MB of RAM plus 1 GB DDR2 microDIMM, 128 MB of ROM, and a 30 GB hard drive.
specs found dont know if totally factual
If the vista bit can access the internet and is reasonably quick cpu wise its gonna be hard to ignore

I'm hoping the final specs are impressive. I have my credit card ready for this one. Since I have two pockets I figured Athena in one and Shift in the other. LOL
I can't wait for the final specs. I really hope it comes with built in GPS, etc.
I knew about the Shift before i got my Athena.
Its funny but I thought at the time I bet i end up getting that phone/mini laptop thingy.
If this can do what the Athena can and is more powerful to boot, i cant see my self NOT getting it!
If it can play Proevo 6 Online over HSPDA that would be perfection !!!

head of america HTC talking about the shift
well i saw the specs on a video on youtube when the were showing a demo of it.... seems that it is using a intel processor as shift was announced on IDF.... using A110 ( dothan @ 800Mhz ) and intel 945GMC....
i doubt the specs for the pda side will match Athena as it only uses 64mb of ram and i think it should be an emulated WM6 as A110 is built on the X86 architechture..... Ha vista for a phone...... i wouldnt want
that.... For all you knoe it hangs the very moment someone calls..... =D....

its not a phone its designed to be ultraportable laptop...
as you can see its 7" i dont think anyone will remotely think of using that as a phone
well it does come with the feature... doesnt it??? anyway 800mhz for vista.... wouldnt that make performance very slow...?
probably... but if u run it slim im sure it would be fine ...
besides im pretty sure u can use a dif os on it like linux
i thought it was supposed to be a 1.2 processor
as for not using as a phone the Athena is pretty much unusable as one as well unless u use bluetooth headset which u would have to do with the shift
Shift and Shangri-la are NOT one and the same phone.
Shift only runs vista. Shangri-la runs both Vista and WM6. They also look different visually.

The Xperia Has 384mb Ram...

What is the actual RAM in the device?
The X1 has 384 MB RAM but you'll note that the device information screen says 256MB. This is because the X1 also has an additional 128MB RAM that's only accessible to the CPU/3D chip. There isn't really anyway way to know this apart from taking SE's work although HTC also confirm this but we're looking for a way for end users to verify for themselves

and if you read the full answer, you will find:
"There isn't really anyway way to know this apart from taking SE's work although HTC also confirm this but we're looking for a way for end users to verify for themselves."
So, performance seems confirm the presence of 128mb of vram, but for now we cannot be sure of that

got to be sceptical,
if it's not stated anywhere than it's not there.....
if one believe it that it has 384 RAM,
might as well assume that the x1 also had swiss knife build in, 2Ghz dual core processor, nuclear powered, what ever one can imagine.....
well, now i see how experia is the ultimate machine,
as it is really up to your imagination.

[Q] Is 256 MB of RAM low ?

give me your opinions about the Samsung Focus RAM
According to Microsoft, the RAM is 512.
Not sure who to believe MS, or the general interweb information.

I emailed Samsung PR and they said it will have 512MB of RAM.
Thank you all guys

Yea I just hope they didn't get it confused with the ROM size... AT&T has a PDF spec sheet that says 256MB. Only time will tell I guess.
Well I emailed Samsung PR again and got a response that makes me weary about the 512MB of RAM email I received. I asked how much ROM space (not storage space) the phone will have and got 8GB. I even stated in the email not to confuse with the 8GB of user storage. So it could in fact have 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM. Man, I hope Microsoft's WP7 website is right.
If that's the case, I may have to get the Surround even though I don't want to...

That's exactly my line of thinking - surround instead of focus if the focus only has 256mb of RAM.
But, watching the videos of the focus it looks as fluid as the other 512mb RAM phones.....maybe 256mb is all you need. Particularly given the fact that the Windows OS spreads across RAM (inc. the memory card).
The Focus will have 512mb not 256mb. This is a specific Microsoft WP7 requirement.

I hope you're right. Because I saw the specs that Microsoft required a minimum of 256MB. AT&T has a spec sheet that shows 256MB as well. I want AT&T to be wrong and MS website to be right.
Every review I've seen today shows only 256mb of ram. With the lack of 3rd party multitasking apps I don't see this as being a major problem. Having said that I would have liked the phone to have 512mb just in case. You can never have too much ram.

You're wrong WP7 specific requirement is 256mb of ram or higher. 8gb of storage or higher. Did you see the keynote 6 months ago. The LG quantum being released on At&t will also have 256mb of ram. The surround will have 512 with 448mb available to the user.

I stand corrected.
Samsung Focus is the phone I want to get without settlling. THe HD7 is a little too big for me, I might as well get a tablet. However like a few people here, I might have to settle for the HTC Surround if the Focus does indeed only have 256MB RAM.
Sure it may be acceptable now with 256MB but MS could release Windows Phone SP1 or SP2 with multitasking enabled. I also know too many iPhone users who will gloat if I get a phone with less RAM than theirs. I am still up in the air and wish the decision were easy if the Focus had 512MB RAM or the Surround had a microSD slot.
If I do get the Surround, it looks like I will need to sell this 32GB microSD card I just purchased..
The thing is Microsoft recently updated their 'at-a-glance' WP7 site to correct inaccuracies and it still shows the Focus at 512MB RAM.
[www dot microsoft dot com/presspass/presskits/windowsphone/glance.aspx]
Yes! Engadget confirmed the RAM is 512MB and the ROM will be 1GB! The Samsung PR lady that emailed me was right.
Engadget Focus Review
Engadget.com just updated their review earlier today saying the Focus has 512 RAM and 1GB ROM. Which is.good to know.
Also said, unlike any other WP7 phone, you can expand memory using micro sd slot. Only problem is it supposedly wipes your device every time you put one in or take it out. So don't take it out.

Microsoft's website shows the same RAM & ROM. So there's a good chance it will.
Good news indeed. This and the GPS (concerns it would suffer the same as the Galaxy S devices) were the only two things holding me back from this device. Now, November 8th can't get here soon enough.

[Q] Defective Ram Or Really Dense User?

Good afternoon,
I posted this question on another droid tablet related forum, but I have been unable to find an answer, so either I am really dense and asking a really dumb question (hooray for me then) or no one knows the answer... yet!
I am hoping this is an I D 10 T error on the users part because I already had one defective Transformer and am not looking forward to a second return, but here goes me hoping for an answer!
When I pull up running apps on my tf101 under settings, it shows I only have a total of 562 megs of ram. It usually fluctuates at about 112 megs being used and 450 free adding up to well below 1 gig of ram. Doesn't the tf101come with 1 gig of ram? Is part of the ram locked down for future updates, or am I in possession of a defective tablet?
Thanks in advance.
I should mention I have the 16 gig version with a 16 gig mini memory card plugged into the unit (PNY brand I believe if it matters). I have upgraded to Honeycomb 3.1, and show no available updates from ASUS (I also have not rooted my tablet it is running stock OS no funny business here!).
There is 1G of ram TOTAL, but this is shared with the video carveout, framebuffers, and probably a few other things that need shared system memory.

Thank you, I was kinda assuming that it was just ram being locked down for other processes and unusable, but thought I better ask some experts since I had some terrible luck with my first tf101.
Thanks again for your quick response.

The 562 M bytes of RAM you refer to (Actually a 562MB portion of 16 Gb SD flash) is allocated for app storage, the remainder for app data ,music, photos etc. The 1gb RAM you mention is used for program execution, display etc. In addition Android 3.1 does some strange and undocumented dynamic Flash allocation for app stotage. get free disk usage app for detailed memory usage
