Microsoft Voice Command 1.6? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Do any of you have MSFT VC 1.6 installed on the Advantage? I know there were many issues with this software app and the TYTN (such as notifications through speaker and being forced to apply a major registry settings tweak). Can someone confirm that using MSFT VC 1.6 works perfectly with the Advantage or if there are similar problems like with the TYTN?
Thanks

I copy that! Work like a charm on my Ameo.

Yup, it all works perfectly on my Ameo, even issuing commands thru bluetooth is working fine, which was a pig to sort out on the Universal.

Can you please tell me how you got your msft 1.6 voice command working? My audio still routes through to the speaker, not the BT headset. Do you have to do anything to get it working?
I went through all the other forums about this, nothing works.
~Sigh~

I installed it - and it all worked, no tweaking required.

Have you set the "Notifications" settings to direct the audio to Bluetooth only?

What about Voice Command 1.5?
Has anyone got 1.5 to work?
When I try, I just get "Voice Command has encountered a problem. Restart Voice command and try again"
I've tried installing it both to Main Memory, and Microdrive. I've tried resetting it both before and after installing.
No joy.
Anyone else have more luck?

I have had same issue with v1.5 going to try v1.6 hope it works ok

Doesn't really work on my Advantage. Works just like it did on the Tytn.
Activating MSVC thru headset works. All audio comes thru speaker phone. Notifications do not go thru headset only thru speakerphone
And yes, I have notifications set to onlu bluetooth..Oh Well

strange mine one works.....didn't change anything

Mine works flawlessly through bt when initiated from the device. However, I am unable to initiate with my Jabra BT8010

I found out that if I uncheck the Password Protected box in MSVC settings' dialogue that it works fine.

activate Voice Command via BT Headset?
Can you activate the BT via the BT headset? I remember trying one long itme ago on a Blue Angel and I had to configure a button on the device to activate it. Does it work there?
Thank you.

Have you changed the mode to phone on you BT8010s? Otherwise it just keeps playing/pausing your music.

Works perfectly on the three x7500's I purchased. ;-)

I've been using the Mocrosoft voice commnd v.1.6 for a few weeks now. I have the US version, which unfortunately have a different dialing rule from ours in Australia. So, you can't use the dial funtion - only the call funtion would work in Australia. For those not familiar, "dial command" is supposed to let you dial a number. whereas "call command" lets you call a contact by name or nick name in your address book. The numbers, to be acceptable and recognised by the dial command must be one of the following formats:
nnn-nnnn
nnn-nnn-nnnn
1-nnn-nnn-nnnn
n-1-1
international dialing with a + or 0 prefix.
I was puzzled as to why I was unable to use the dial command, and to me a while to realise the limitation.
I heard from other forum participant that he has used the UK version, which allow him to dial the australisan numbers.
If you use this product, could you kindly look into the help file under tips for making calls and list all the number formats acceptable to the UK versions please?
Thanks

Is your BlueTooth turned on? Is your car kit paired using the Hands-free profile?
TO CHECK:
In Comm Manager, go to Setting menu and select BlueTooth.
In "Mode" tab, made sure BT is on!
In "Devices" tab,
* If it shows in the list tap on it and see whether Hands Free is enabled.
* If it does not show, tap "Add New Device..." and follow the steps.

Bluetooth Audio Gateway, next attempt

The btagsvc.dll on the Universal does exist, but it is empty (same with the HID dll). So that may be the reason why Audio Gateway is not working (getting the system sound forwarded to the BT headset).
Now, a friend showed me an interesting trick. Run a music file or any other program that outputs sound (like a navigation instruction from TomTom) and then press the Speed Voice Dial button.
Interesting, isn't it? So maybe all we need to do is prevent SpeedVoiceDial from exiting again?

If you're talking about the M$ stack on the Universal, then you'll have to elucidate a bit more than that - unless you mean:
"The A2DP profile is introduced in AKU 2.0 of Windows Mobile".
But then isn't that scheduled for first quarter 2006. Even then, surely it's down to HTC to make it available for the badging suppliers, o2, T-mobile, etc., to decide IF and WHEN to issue the update.
I tried the LaunchAPEnable = 0 registry hack but it won't stick. My Jabra 110 headset would only receive the audio for a few seconds and then it would all fall back into the Xda Exec. I'll try another headset just to be sure but I'd have to agree - this seems far from being solved.
EDIT: indeed it works with another headset (Solteras Halo). Is the Jabra too agressive in it's power saving quest?
nice to see its doing you head in master   the jabra bt250 is the same as is my logtech and motorola bluespoon 3-4 secs via voice dial and nothing

I've been using a bluetooth headset (Jabra BT-800) to listen to audio books just fine on the JarJar Universal. There are two ways (so far) to get it to work. One, if you install Microsoft Voice Command and use the registry hack found in this forum to make it the default via the Voice Dial button, run it, then let it cancel on its own, the BT audio connection stays intact for running regular audio through it.
The second (and free) way is to use a utility found in the I730 forum in pdaphonehome.com called BTAudioToggle. Written for the I730, it works on the Universal too. I imagine it will work on all the flavors of the Universal. Connecting your BT headset, followed by running this BT app will also activate the BT audio connection. Its pretty rock solid though its mono, not A2DP
Nice application but it only works for Universal for a few seconds. Then it returns to the device with the voice dial application activated.....
So, it seems that I have to disable the voice dial application. Anyone knows how????
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
I tried the BTAudioToggle on the Xda Exec, and it doesn't seem to do anything .
@chris_khho: try a different headset. As I wrote the Solteras Halo was working fine with the registry hack but the Jabra 110 would only work for a few seconds. I'll need to check what profiles each of them suports.
RE
Hi!
BTAudioTogggle works on my QTEK 9000 for a few seconds when Voice Speed Dial is activated. Once Voice Speed Dial ends the music transfer stops
Mine works fine and I've played my audio books for more than an hour and it never dropped. I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you guys. Maybe the reason the BTAudio hack works is because the MS Voice Command setup is installed and the BTAudio hack just makes use of it.
You know, now that I think of it, I have an I730 too and before the BTAudio hack came out, I was already using MS Voice Command to activate audio over BT. I think there's a (good) bug in Voice Command where VC does not release the audio stream if you activate it, then don't give it any commands. The BTAudio hack just made it easier to activate.
OK I see.
I tried this:
hklm\software\oem\voicecommand and set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0
And it works with my i-tech clip s and jabra 258 (not sure the model no.), and WMP but it doesnt revert to BT headset after finished call....
Yes it is "mono" but its good though....just wait for AD2P..... Many people are working on it I think.....
Great People Great Work!!!!
Cheers,
Any more info on what each update fixes.
Of particular interest is the bluetooth patch????

Please help / Samsung i830 + A2DP

I've tried SuperDave's i730 fix/hack at pdaphonehome.com, every thing seems to work except there is no way, or option to select "set as wireless stereo".
I get no stereo from bluetooth, WMP still plays sound through the device speakers.
I tried the "zoad2p.cab" from this site (works on Cingular 8125)
Same results.
I've also tried the Tornado a2dp I found here.
It's working on devices with AKU2.6 but I get the same results
as with SuperDave's fix.
One interesting thing...
If you launch WMP and play a song then activate voice siginal, the music
IS sent to the head set briefly.
To keep it active, select settings>about and leave voice signal running.
seems to work like Bluetoothaudiotoggle for about 45-60 sec.
I wonder what is missing from these hacks that we need to make it work.

Thanks, but it does not work for this device.
The audio is played only as long as the VoiceSignal application is open.
When I select the bluetooth headphones under listed devices
I get a popup for:
1.Edit
2.Delete
3.Set as hands free.
It's missing {4. Set as Wireless Stereo}
There is no option for "Set as Wireless Stereo"
Could this just be a missing Reg. entry?
(and I believe this is what I'm missing which may be the trouble).
Under Profiles, I have:
1.Hands Free
2.Wireless Stereo
3.Headset
*all have checkboxes.
I've tried every combination I can think of.
Thanks for your HELP, I really appreciate it.

Actually, I had read that the bluetooth audio toggle wouldn't work with sd's hack, so I had removed the hack. I just reinstalled it and it sorta works in conjuntion with the toggle; I can play audio over my bt headset, but an incoming call disconnects it and I can't hear my caller. Work in progress.
I currently have the i-tech clip and bluetake i-phono; the clip gives me music but no calls and the bluetake gives me calls and no music......
I also have a pair of the sony hbh something or other, but I'm trying to find them in my house!!!!

SuperDaves' hack for the i730 (I think is based on the Tornado Hack found here on xda) will not Work at all with the i830's bluetooth stack. It seems to be completely different. After you install it and try to use it you will get OS errors if you have error reporting turned on.
AudioToggle.exe seems to work fine, except its mono.
+ (the whole call answer issue)
I've also tried the Wizard hack with the same results.
I really hope we can find a device with the same bluetooth stack/build and figure out what we need to add to enable a2dp.

Microsoft Voice Commander 1.6 - Voice commands over BT headset - For Blueangel

Any of you guys had managed to get the voice commands coming out from your BT headsets using MS VC 1.6?
i.e. you press BT headset to activate VC 1.6, instructions from VC 1.6 comes through BT headset, you give instructions through Mic of BT headset.
I tried searching in the forum and only managed to find one thread here but that seems to be only applicable to Hermes.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Working flawless on my wizard. did you setup VC6 to announce via BT? sometimes we miss the simplest things
EDIT: I'm using the motorola H500
From MS Voice Command troubleshooting
Bluetooth Usage Trouble
Pressing the Bluetooth headset button doesn’t do anything
You must soft reset your phone after you’ve installed Voice Command before the Bluetooth headset will work for initiating Voice Commands.
If this doesn’t resolve the problem, it is likely that you are trying to use the Bluetooth functionality on an unsupported device. Voice Command’s Bluetooth functionality will work on devices that include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, that conform to Microsoft’s guidelines for Bluetooth driver implementation, and for devices that have the correct hardware implementation necessary to route system audio through the Bluetooth headset.
If you have a device that does not include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, you may be able to route all system audio through the headset using the Bluetooth stack vendor’s Bluetooth control panel. If you can, you can use Voice Command over Bluetooth by pressing a hardware button on the device and conducting the interaction via the headset. The Bluetooth audio routing options will not work properly on devices that do not use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. You should select “Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free if available” on these devices.

You were right. I missed setting up VC 1.6 to announce via BT. BTW, I had since set it to 2nd option from top, i.e. Annouce notifications using BT hands free if available. When I received an incoming call earlier, I believe the notifications came through the speakerphone as well as my BT headset, and when I spoke, I believe it went through the BT headset. Is this behaviour correct?
If I set to 1st option of Announce notifications using BT hands free only, does it mean incoming calls will go to BT head set only, and nothing from speakerphone?
Thanks.

When you initiate a call with the BT hands free button, does the instructions from VC 1.6 come from your Wizard or BT hands free? If you give your instructions, does it goes through the BT hands free MIC or Wizard Mic?
I'm having an intermittant problem with the voice announcing. I can initiate the voice command with the button on my bt headset, I get the little beeps prompting me to speak, I give the command and then 75% of the time I dont get the voice announcement back saying "call soandso home?" but the contact will come up on the screen Every now and then I will get the voice prompt...cant figure out why its intermittant.
I'm using the plantronics 655 with the tmobile wing.

VC 1.6 announcements over BT Headset

I know this has been covered a bit but I have a quick question. MS is saying you need to have AKU 3.2 to get VC to announce caller's over your BT Headset. Has anyone found a simple way to make this work on an earlier ROM. Lately I've been running mostly Molski's ROM, but I dabbled in Faria's 3.2. I swore I had BT working totally with a 2.26 ROM, but am I on crack?
I liked Faria's 3.2 but I was missing too many calls. Is there any way to upgrade just teh BT in an older ROM to make this work. (I'm sure my inexperience shows in this question. If its impossible to do, just say the word and I'll patiently wait for a new 3.2 or 3.5 ROM or just forget about this)
I have two answers to your question.
The first is use the A2DP hack found in this forum and get a stereo bluetooth headset. The iTech Clip R35 or S35 both come with the two headphones; one with only one earbud, so you aren't covering both your ears. When you have a stereo bluetooth headset, all sound, including the calls from MS Voice Command are redirected to your headset.
The second is use the program found here:
http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/...luetooth-headset.html?perpage=20&pagenumber=1
It basically redirects all sound to bluetooth (probably a cheaper and easier fix); I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it might be the solution you are looking for.
I also liked having the feature of calls announced through bluetooth, but it never did seem to work. I have been meaning to download the program from the site, but just haven't gotten chance. If you try it, let me know if it works.
Thanks.
I wonder how hard it would be to get that little program to run automatically when connected to a head set
yeah theres nothign cooler than wearing a stereo headset while driving. Thanks but no thanks.
I've used BT audio with v1.5, and it wasnt for me. i still use it to listen to podcasts via my headset on occasion though.
The nice thing about 1.6 when it was working (mist have been with Faria's ROM) was that I didn't hear my normal phone ringtone through the headset. It rang like normal through my headset, but it would announce the callers name. Its a cool feature.
edit: I must have been wrong. It does divert the ringtone through your headset as well. This gives me hope that I can work somethign out using BTAudio.
Yeah it is a cool feature. You can go to the notification settings in voice command (Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command) and change it so that notifications are done when bluetooth is available (the second radio button). If the notifications cannot sound through your headset, they will come from the phone speaker so you will still be able to hear who is calling without looking at your phone. Doesn't really help if your phone is in your pocket or if you can't hear it, but I guess its the next best alternative.
I have a cooked T-mobile 2.26 ROM and use MS VC 1.6 over my BT205 no problems. I was previously using the original O2 rom and has it working on that too so both an AKU2.0 and an AKU2.3 work fine. To install try this:
remove VC if installed
remove headset pairing
soft reset
create headset pair and leave it switched on
install vc1.6
soft reset
add path string to HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\
i.e. \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
soft reset
then try the button on the headset a few times
Riptos
I'm not having trouble using BT with VC. I want the Incoming call announcements to come over BT.
I installed Farias 3.2 and it worked, but I decided its not a huge deal. I'll try playing around looking at some of teh links here and see if I can't work somethign out. Thanks everyone.
I would also love for voice command 1.6 to announce incoming calls to my bluetooth headset. Interestingly, low battery announcements come through the bluetooth headset, but not incoming calls. Hmmm. Any suggestions/luck getting this to work?

Just wanted to let everyone know I tried it out today and it works as expected. Phone audio gets redirected to BT headset on incoming calls.
but does the ringer get re-directed also? cuz if so thats DAMN ANNOYING!
Well I dont mean to sound condescending to a "senior member" cuz im just a junior but did it cross your mind to select "none" as your ringer? Oh, Btw everyone, your welcome for my fantastic little file
What exactly does the file do???
I had troubles with VC 1.6 at first, but now it seems to work OK. Maybe I accidentally followed Riptos's instructions. Don't know.
Also BTAudio is working to redirect audio when I want that to happen, since VC now closes the audio after it finishes.
The only remaining minor glitch is that after giving a dial command, the little simulated dialing noise comes over the phone speaker not the headphone. So if the phone isn't right by, I don't always know whether it has dialed or not.
Any suggestions?
I tried the CallerID program. It works just as described. The only thing is that is takes up ~443.48 KB at startup. I just installed it so I don't know if it increases after a while.
I have a question. If I understand everything correctly, with a AKU 3.2 ROM this CallerID program isn't necessary if I want to get Incoming Call Announcements over Bluetooth. Right??
Has anyone gotten VC 1.6 to announce incoming calls over a STEREO Bluetooth headset? Seems like the discussions have only been for a hands free device. Anyone?
I don't have a 3.XX ROM and Voice Command notifications work on my stereo bluetooth headset without the program because I think wtih stereo bluetooth, all sound is redirected to the headset. I didn't do anything or change any settings, it just worked. I obviously have the A2DP hack installed, but that's it.

Voice Dialing Application for HD2 - Available?

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is no built in voice dialing capability tools included with the HD2?
I would like to be able to (like I have with the last 2 HTC Smartphones) be able to voice dial a contact over a bluetooth headset or car unit....
Any recommendations, or is this feature hidden somewhere that I simply have to activate? If there is an app I can get, preferrably free, please advise. Thanks!
Microsoft Voice Command is probably the best out there... its almost uncanny how you can just talk to your phone and ask it stuff with no training.... Call blah blah blah.... what are my apointments? .... open file explorer.... etc etc etc....
I use it with a bluetooth headset all the time to make and receive calls all the time.... calls received will have the caller's name read to me via BT headset
Thanks, so nothing is included with the HD2 then correct? Is there a free version we can get for our HD2 here or elsewhere of Voice Command?

MSVC is pretty much the best out there...the other alternative is the Cyberon Speed Dial, but you do have to record for each contact.

Which MSVC version are you using?
I've been having strange problems with my Blueant Supertooth light and MSVC 1.6.
The problems are:
- My Blueant doesn't terminate the connection after calls, the lights and speaker just stays on eventhough the call has been terminated.
- No incoming call announcement from the blueant device.
- Sometimes when I press the call button on my BT device, voice commander responds on the phone's speaker??
Weird... I didn't have the above problems with my TD, although I never could get the incoming call announcement to work as well.
on the same lines, is there any application to type what you speak? This way we could use speech to text instead of using the keyboard!
It is a huge letdown that the HD2 does not already INCLUDE a voice dialing application like the past several HTC phones have had, for years.
HTC needs to step up the plate and both provide this and make sure that bluetooth voice dialing protocols are in place.
Has anyone used the Cyberon app yet? I believe the one is called "Voice Dialer" and the other is called "Voice Commander", not sure what the actual difference is or if either work fully on the HD2.
Hi. I'm using Cyberon Voice Sped Dialer on my HD2 and have set up my voice dals.
However, when I go to use the voice dial I only every get the 'tone' through the phone speaker and no longer through my BT headset. I have a Jawbone 2 BT headset.
My Touch HD worked fine with it and you could dial using voice through the headset but I no longer can on the HD2.
Is there a way to fix this? Do I need different software or is it just one of those things?
Thanks.
Owen.
Hi,
Im having the same problems with my HD2 device. I have a parrot bluetooth carkit and with this new device it doens't work like it should because there is no voice dialing.
I've tried several programs like Microsoft Voice command and other voice command programs like VITO voice command and Cyberon.
Is there any program that just looks like the voice dialing on the HTC Diamond? I just want to record my own voice and use it with my bluetooth carkit.
Thanks,
187ed187
The problems with bluetooth is down to the HD2 using a widcomm bluetooth stack as apposed to a microsoft one. I personally havent found a voice dialing app that will work with the widcomm stack.
So what do we do now? I really love this phone but this is a huge problem for me...
Good question.... experiment!? E-mail voice recognition manufactures?
I have cyberon voice speed dial 1.2
I cant get it to work through my BT but I have sort cut on home that I press and it opens all my progs and dial contacts, one of the best things about my phone now I love that it opens all my programs...
I used to have a n95 and this put an auto voice tag on each contact and worked through any BT, shame the HD2 hasnt got an app that can do that ... and open my progs..
I'm also still waiting for a solution.
I have 2 bt handsfree devices on my 2 cars (Parrot and Blueant)...and MSVC only works for the first try after a soft reset.
After the first go, MSVC just goes thru the phone's mic and speaker. Very annoying when you still need to hold the phone up while driving AND you have a bluetooth handsfree device.

The problems with bluetooth is down to the HD2 using a widcomm bluetooth stack as apposed to a microsoft one. I personally havent found a voice dialing app that will work with the widcomm stack.

Is it possible for someone to cook a ROM with the MSFT bluetooth stack? Or is that too hardware/driver dependent?
You guys should check out the threat with the name: Voice Dial Removed! WTF?
Since I cannot post links yet I can't post the exact link but I'm sure you guys are able to use the search function on this website
Someone claims to have found a working solution for the problem, it's on the second page of the thread.. I'm going to test it right now
Edit: IT WORKS!! At first holding the call button didn't work for me, so I followed the instructions on the first page and now it works!!

About to try it, hope it works with BT voice dial, if not then Duttys WM6.5 works as well as it can and includes the long press fix as standard.
Owen.
To install .CAB according to order of their numbering.
Do not forget to put a tick in Audio-adjustments sets (' To reproduce system sounds on removed set ').
I did not check it by myself yet.
I tried to make ONE .CAB but did not find apropriate software.
Let's try this way.

I have succeeded to activate the CVSD with BT Headset button press with the "4_CVSD_1.2_build_61226_1_BTHeadsetFixed.cab" given in the mail above.
But I can not hear the Voice Tag of the contact from the BT Headset but from the speaker of the HD2 as a confirmation to my speed dial speech.
And I have to check the screen when dialing started if I am motocycling
Any proposal to fix that little problem?
