[new release] VJSMSSender Class 0 SMS - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Guys, this is just to fill a request on my website
It is used to send a Class 0 SMS. It's used in exactly the same way as VJSMSSender from VJPhoneTools.
Class 0 SMS, for those who don't know, is an SMS that is sent directly to the recipient's phone and will appear immediately on the screen, without requiring the recipient to go into the Inbox. Also, the SMS is not saved in the inbox, so there is no trace of it on the phone.
Great for illicit affairs!
Please use it responsibily, I don't know if there are any special rules about Class 0 SMS, but if there are any objections I'll remove it.
Check it out on my website
V

Hi Vijay,
another fine release.. )))
THANX mate.
How you do them all ??? ))))
BTW, why would you remove it from your website?? Flash SMS is perfectly legal AFAIK.
THANX

I'm sure it is legal, but it's quite scary how it works! I love it, I'll be freaking out all of my friends... oh, what friends  too much programming!
How you doing Buzz. Been quite for a while... must mean good things on their way?

Where is this program? I cant seem to find it in your site Vj...
I am curious of how it work

What about allowing a different sender ID? E.g. another number or text.

It's there : http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJPhoneTools:VJSMSSender_Class0

Good things from Buzz.....
Is that combining the extrom to storage on the Universal?????

Yes that would be a great idea if it could be done.
vijay555 is this possible ?
TraumaTiger

Hum, how do i run this app? command line how? Can someone explain thanks.

q-biq:
download and install VJPhoneTools
http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJPhoneTools
and check out the page for instructions on how to use VJSMSSender.
Then, the class 0 prog works in exactly the same way as VJSMSSender.
Use GSFinder etc to make appropriate shortcuts, or use a today launcher like cLaunch etc.
TraumaTiger/Chatty: I think I could write an SMS spoofer, but I don't think it's wise. I will try to write it anyway for the fun of it (!) and tell you if it works...
V

oh koool. workin great, but do i need to change the shortcut evry time i need to send to a new phonenumber? takes to long time hehe..
and how have you created the icons on the top so i can send from there?

Once again..
VJ its possible to send to more than one recipient at the same time ?
thank you

q-biq: yep, the shortcut needs to be changed each time. It's more for use on a today screen: it was requested that you could eg send a msg to your wife on the way home with no key presses etc. VJSMS still requires you to press send, while VJSMSSender sends it straight off, so yes, it has to be manually configures each time.
More that that and it would have to work like a replacement for the inbox, and that's not what it's for (right now! perhaps in the future).
fcaeiro: no, I'm afraid VJSMSSender doesn't have a CC feature. I could try to look into it a some point, but I haven't thought about it right now...too busy coding other stuff!
V

It's definately possible to spoof the sender ID - Siemens S25 tools offered it already (if you remember that old handset).

can you explain howto spoof id??

SMS ID spoofing is easy enough in theory. I will try to write it, and if it works, I'll take feedback on whether it deserves releasing. But let me write it first

Yaaa it good if our ID, phone number not appear...or with spoof ID...
waiting for ur progress Vijay555...

With Vodafone.se you can just put a -A- in the begining of the sms to hide your number.

IIWPO: Theft protection in ROM for Himalaya

(Re-published due to forum structure change)
Based of the IIWPO solution initially meant for Wallaby devices (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=2526), I created a customizable installer for Himalaya:
See the Wiki page on IIWPO
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/IIWPO
Hopefully IIWPO suprises a lot of thiefs!!!!!
This is way too cool! I really love this software. I hope never to have to rely on it but just to know its there will make me sleep better. Thanks.
Wow!
The link doesn't work, but... there is or could you do something like that for the PDA2K?
Thanks!
Chris

Edsub,
I am wondering if the already excellent IIWPO could be further enhanced by a simple but witty add-on. I am imagining the capability to receive a Kill-Signal via SMS. If all attemps to recover the phone fails because the person who holds it has not put in a full & proper owner name + address we still have a phone number right? Therefore we can send an SMS to the phone at will. If IIWPO listens for a specific sms subject line then we could instruct it to disable the phone in some fashion that can be reversed and display a message to this end "tell" the thief to return the phone no questions asked etc. If still no luck then we could send a signal forever killing the phone. Am I watching too many spy movies? ;-)
Hope you like the idea. Sounds fun to me. Regards
I like the idea  , but since am not a CE developer (and I did not develop IIWPO either, just put the parts that were there together for use on a Himalaya) I have no idea whether or not this is possible.
Maybe any of the real xda-developers see a possibility here :?:

This is possible, and was used on an HP Jornado 928 ...
On this handset, a simple SMS containing a specific codeword or PIN would 'lock' the handset so that it could not be used. Quite useful and as far as I know unique to the HP Jornado 928.
Anyone know any different ?
Cheers
Mark
wow!! this would be great for the PPC! ive tried something like this in my symbian NOKIA 6600! and its very useful!! if you change the sim the phone will automatically send a message to your predefined numbers containing some info on the current location of your phone... and if you send a code to it thru SMS it will lock up and it cant be used unless you flash it or something.. i bet the PPC version is even greater!! cant wait for a full version!

I would like the facility to electrocute the new "owner" through the ear when he makes a call, 50,000 volts would be fine. Or maybe a spring bolt that would activate and shatter his jaw.
Perhaps the local police station...

My wife lost her handphone to some dishonest fella who picks it up and perhaps remove the SIM/off the HP.
Perhaps we can have it SMS your selected police station on startup and replay an SMS with your customised message:
"Yeah baby! I've stolen this handphone and there is NOTHING that you bloody incompetent slobs can do about it! <vulgarities applied here>!"
<repeat 100 times>
In my country, we can have different numbers for neighbourhood police post. The SMS will be repeated as a robotic voice message to the LAND phone as well.
I can at least ensure that the message does not go into a generic 911 number.

Hey...
I was thinking about SMS flooding my friend when he wasn't answering my calls .. I searched the net and found a bunch of japanease softwares I couldn't understand. So I thought to my self, why not make one? So basically I made a simple SMS bomber/flooder and now I'm sharing it with toi! .. The software worked like a charm on my Qtek S200. This software needs <b>.NET compact framework V2.0, and OS WindowsMobile 5.0 atleast</b>.
How to use it?
Nr: The number you wish to flood.
Mess: The message you wish to send.
Chr: Shows how many characters you've typed.
HM: How many times you want the message sent.
Send: Send the messages
Exit: Figure it out
Hope U LIKE CUZ ME LIKE ..
Cheers
I love it!
A tool for destruction... I'll do some testing as soon as I find a suitable victim
Thanks
testing it now.
takes a while to send though, but thats no problem!
Nice Software.. gonna test it. but i'm not using it to flooding someone.. just gonna use it to send answers to some quiz

Heh, a smart use - what will it be today? xyz Idol?
hmmm good software.
i think you need to make a desktop windows program that does the same so they dont know who its from. That could be a fun joke. Not so funny when they know its you if they get pissed bout it....
"just gonna use it to send answers to some quiz"
not sure if thats general but i often see those quiz shows
stating that it cost "normal sms rate + <some amount of money>"
so before you bomb them with answers make sure it will not cost you alot
I live in sweden and the best thing is that it's free to send SMS .. About the "Sender ID", it's possible to make a SMS flooder that doesn't send your Sender ID just find me a couple of free SMS servers and I'll make one. Can't wait? try googling there are plenty of free SMS softwares for windows ..!
BaselsSMS'er is still buggy though, I'll fix it when I have time..

I like the new layout! The contacts integration is very nice as well... I think you should have a folder in the \Program Files\BaselsSMS'er with all of the jpegs, gif, or pngs, or whatever you used, so we can change the color scheme. I could see this becoming a popular tool!
Or a theme manager, like tene's brilliant work

Ultimate Theft Alert v35!: Free offer

Hello All,
This is NiCK Carty from www.PocketPC-Live.com and I was here in xda for a very long time at the Artemis and Kaiser sections serving the community, even released a couple of slim Roms for Artemis (HTC P3300). Now that I have got myself a new HTC Athena (dopod U1000) after being impressed by the processor 624 Mhz Intel, I will enter this section now.
My first impressions on the device, it's damn good, probably better option to those who look for a UMPC.
As a welcome note, I would like to give 7 copies of my software Ultimate Theft Alert v35! (recently optimized for Athena under real VGA 128 dpi). The next 7 replies to this post will be eligible for the free offer. Download the trial version from here and mail me for Product keys.
I would love to hear your suggestions for my software.
Regards,
Carty..

Thanks Carty for your free gift. Will try it out tonight when I get some free time.
Edit: okay, installed it. It looks really really good. I like it better than WIMP if the monitoring integration can be installed.
I have a few questions.
1) I entered +614XXXXXXXX as my number to call when the phone is stolen, but it does not accept it. Why is this so? What if a SIM card of another country is inserted when we travel?
2) Often the top taskbar disappear. Do you have this problem? I also find that I'm unable to minimise it or switch to other applications when used in conjunction with wktask.
3) How do we make it possible for the problem to survive a hard reset?
4) How about letting the seven of us have the GPS and monitoring integration also? Or at least the monitoring integration. I like your concept of monitoring very much. I have been using WIMP in the past with GPS, but I find the GPS location to be too rough to be useful. I think the monitoring concept gives us much better chance of recovering the phone than WIMP would allow.
Fantastic application! Thanks again.

Replace + with 00. Eg: 00614XXX Try it and let me known. It is the issue with some service providers who dont accept the format of message sent with certain parameters.

The application is made to take the full screen hiding the Start bar. This is only when you're in the Admin panel making some configurations. So for a few minutes, you can sacrifice Start ar ?
Or do you think the application doesnt bring back Start bar even after closing?

Depending on in which country the phone is stolen, the international prefix is different. But + is the universally acceptable prefix to replace all these prefix. That's why I thought it would be the correct way to set up the number.
BTW, I tried testing it. Unfortunately it does not seem to be sending out any SMS alert to the listed mobile phone number when I put in a SIM card which has not been added to the database yet. Are any of the other six users having this problem?
Also, when I tried to set up the customized text, the software abended with an error message saying "An unexpected error has occured in UTAv35.exe. Select Quite and then restart this program, or select Details for more informaiton" . When I select Details, I see the following information:
UTAv35.exe
NullReferenceException
at UTAv35.Form1.Button19_Click()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick()
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick()
at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBasel.WnProc()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control._InternalWnProc()
at Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
at UTAv35.Form1.Main()
I wonder if this (the inability to set up customise text, hence it is blank) is the reason why no alert message was sent?

Is there any software which can do this?

Basically I am looking for some software which, on receipt of an SMS will initiate an outbound call to a number in the contact list on the phone.
something along the lines of :-
SMS received from 1-555-5555 containing the word CALLBACK and a password.
Phone then dials 1-555-4444 or any specific contact as defined in its config
it doesn't have to use the contact list but must be triggerable remotely.
Target device is a HTC Hermes. and possibly a StarTrk
The program doesn't need to be stealthy, it's to initiate the call with full permission from the owner but without intervention.
Partly it's for my grandfather, if I give him a Startrk then I want to be able to activate a call remotely if I get notified that he has triggered his medicalert system, so I can try to see if he is ok without him having to answer a call.
I googled, and found nothing, I'm hoping someone here can either write an app that can do what I need, or suggest a product that will enable me to do this.
Auto answer is too generic, I want it to be just for myself and not all callers, and the password is because there may be times I just want to send a generic SMS
Sounds like you are talking about an SMS Callback trigger, though I have never heard of a mobile based one.
I always seem to want the impossible or the unwritten maybe it's time one was written?

just unwritten, it's not impossible
pretty easy actually
i'll try to throw some together this week if/when I have the time
try this
Just place it on the phone and edit the config.ini if needed default settings are:
trigger = CALLBACK
password = pass
I tested this on my TyTn2, and it seems to do what you wanted, the program will activate the speaker when calling (can be changed in the config.ini)
this way if your grandfather cannot reach the phone he still be able to talk..
But test it before use, I'm not sure how sensitive the mic of the phone is.
I do like the idea so I'll probably add some more functionality
- auto pickup on call from fixed number
- status
- call/sms log
Let me know what you think.
PS. this was created for a touch screen device not a smart phone...
also I can not be held responsible for damages, phone bills etc.
but that goes without saying ..right
-=edit=-
tested by sending an SMS to myself, the program then called my number, but when i tried with a friends phone it didn't work
let me know if it works for you (if you have 2 phones)
also make sure if the number you send it from is in your phonebook or not (could be the issue)
-=edit=-
that is the issue, working on it
Issue solved
now I need to figure out how to replace the attachment
I'll add it in a new post
I also believe SKSchema can do this in watch mode. Actually SKSchema can do lots of cool things in watch mode.
new version attached
-=edit=-
build a cab, also added apptodate support
is it just me or does it seem to autodial the number that sent the SMS?
one addition would be the facility to set the option that if number X sent the SMS then callback to number Y
example - if I am in the US I will have the number 1-555-1234 but my grandfather is in the UK - +44-555-5555
I run a voip line with a UK DID number such as +44-555-6666 so when the SMS is received from 1-555-1234 the return call goes to the +44-555-6666 instead of the US Cellphone (cost reasons lol, UK landline free, international call of any length = US national debt)
Here is a SMS Trigger I built, do not know if that satisfy you.
Check rk-SMSSwitch under my signature.

Sorry, i just noticed this reply
To be honest i wasn't planning on creating one, but i could give it a shot
the biggest problem is i don't have a Smartphone to test it on..
I'm sure you could probably find a few testers in the forums, there's quite a lot of people on here!
I'll obviously be willing to test anything you are able to come up with. I don't know where you are located mr gee but on ebay UK you can buy an old Orange spv c500 (HTC Typhoon)or c600 (HTC Tornado I think) really cheap now. There are also WM6 roms available for these devices on this site somewhere.

I already checked eBay, and there might be some good ones but I don't want to overpay
I'll keep it in mind
Attached is the same program but compiled for a smartphone, I'm not sure if it will work, I remembered I have an emulator for smartphone installed, but I received an error message when running the exe.., I think because the CF.NET wasn't installed..
let me know
I tried it on my QTek 8500. The exe ran but all I got was a window with a blue background and the words "SMS2Call v. 0.03" in black.
No buttons to press or anything, had to use Task Manager to exit it. Which id did without complaint. Thanks for trying, some work may be needed I think

Currently that is the program
Could you try to edit the ini file?
in case you have 2 phones, add the number from the 2nd phone in the file
save and run the program
send an sms from the 2nd phone with the passcode mentioned in the ini file
your 1st phone should call this number after the SMS receipt
I know the program doesn't look like much but i might fix this in the future
when i do i'll also look at the exit button.
the reason i didn't was because the application was for an older person,
this person could be playing around with the phone accidentally closing the program ...
I looked in the .ini file and then tried sending a text to the phone containing the words CALLBACK PASS. I tried this with/without a space, up and lower case, with the program in the background or on screen but it didn't do anything. Do I have to put a shortcut in the Startup folder or something? Or am I not formatting the text message properly? The sending phone number is in the contacts list if that makes a difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Could you just not set his phone to auto answer ? - that way you can call him any time.

not really, assuming it works maybe it has to do with the formatting,
Callback should be in capitals and pass in lower letters.
when I tested this with my TYTN2 it worked the way it should.
also did you enter the default number ? e.g. the number that will be called?

[sarcasm]
Gee why didn't I think of that...
[/sarcasm]
Seriously have you read the thread?
the topic starter didn't want it this way for several reasons...
Default number and closed flip
I didn't enter a default number because I want it to respond to any number that sends the text. I deleted the DefaultNumber line from the config and it worked, to a point. The phone I'm running it on is a Qtek 8500/HTC StrTrk, which for those who don't know, is a flip phone. My problem is this, if the phone is closed when the text is received the call is made but cut off immediately because the phone is set to hang up calls on closing. Nowhere can I find a setting to stop this from happening, anybody have any ideas?

[APP][Updated 16.10] CallerUtility (look up unknown caller)

Greetings!
Just finished a working version of my new little neat utility which looks up an unknown caller (number among your contacts) with the norwegian service GuleSider.no (yellow pages directory service) and a page called telefonterror.no (lists known telemarketeers in Norway).
When there's a call from an unknown caller the program looks up in both directories and displays the information on top of the HTC-Answer-incoming-call-application.
The program will auto-start on boot and auto-appear when a call is made. As of 16.10 the program supports AppToDate and will be automatically updated by using this.
Please try it out, give me some feedback and buy me a cup of coffee if you like it

Great Idea, would you be able to make it for the US?

Sure, if you got a phone directory service which is easily available by doing simple http requests.
It's just to swap the HTML-parser with a new one...
cool app! could you add this directory: tel.search.ch (Switzerland) that would be great! also does this consume alot of traffic?
regards

Ah, sorry: If you get an incoming call, and the number is not in yout contacts-list, this app will look it up using some kind of directory service (like gulesider).
I'll try to refine my first description

Probably if it is possible to extract the needed values from the HTML.
Regarding the datatraffic I just did a test for the gulesider query and the response was of 28Kb so it shouldn't put too big a hole in your wallet!

Hehe, actually I skimmed through an article about Kevin Mittnick and unscrambling numbers recently, I stopped reading when I saw "Mittnick" and "xx thousand USD worth of equipment". So AFAIK it is not possible.

Excellent idea!
Any chance - when you get chance of course - of a version/configuration for the UK?
*patiently waits*
This is another request for US numbers, also could you post the file that needs to edited for the http search or explain how to edit or how it works.
this is a very good utility any chance for uk version
For the netherlands it would be:
http://www.nummerzoeker.com/index.php
Can you please made this possible?
Thank you
Is it possible to help with USA #, we would appreciate!
Thank You!
Okey fellow developer guys (gals?):
I separated the HTML-parser from the from the project and to its own DLL.
If you would like to "contribute for your country" download the HtmlParserPlugin.zip, unzip and open in visual studio!
All the methods are static, so to make a test project you can just call the LookUpNumber with different types of numbers. If you need to format the number before sending it to the directory service use the StripNumberPrefix-method. Remember to check all outcomes, what if number is unknown to service, wrongly formatted etc etc.
If you only want to use one service just remove the calls to the second one from LookUpNumber.
You probably (not tested by me) can swap the DLL you're generating with the one in the application folder on your device, restart the app and hopefully it will work with your new parser Atleast that's the plan!
If you're satisfied with your own work, send your new DLL to me along with the source code and I will build a country specific version
Ah, great
Hopefully a dev will pickup the dutch-part.

Hei Audiophil.
Great idea. I haven´t got any idea how to make a version for the danish market.
But this provider http://www.krak.dk/ has a pretty good search engine.
