Updating Problem

Hi guys, I'm a bit new to the whole ROM flashing thing on PDAs, anyway, I have an XDA Orbit and I've been trying to update it, but I'm afraid no sucess! It re-sets and shows the RGB screen (3 colours) and then begins to update, but only gets to 5% before giving me an error saying the image is corrupt. I've downloaded two ROMs from here (Touch 1.0WWE and WM6 Premium 1) but neither will work.
Any ideas?
Cheers guys.
did you run the uspl first or is your ipl allready 1.11.0000
I ran whatever the step one batch file did.
Same problem

I have the exact same problem. My phone is CID-unlocked and I could few weeks ago flash a WM6 firmware and then flash back the original WM5 firmware. Unfortunately, since this time, I can not flash any other firmware. I does not work. The update process stops at 3% and I get the same error message (image corrupted).

Rom upgrade step by step instruction please

I haven't done this before so I want to make it right for the first time.
My friends XDAIIi can not make calls (flight mode on all the time and can not be turned off) after WM6 rom upgrade (which I think was for Himalaya only) by some cell phone shop.
Now how do I upgrade the rom to a working one or at least put back the original rom?
What file/s do I need to download? I don't have a cradle just a USB for connecting to ActiveSync which I think serves the same thing as the cradle. Do I need to reflash it first? How do I do that? What files do I need?
Thanks in advance.
Help!
Anyone?
Okay after about an hour or so searching I found this rom -> http://www.maxishare.net/en/file/37...-1-04-bluetooth-patched-camera-fixed-rar.html but after completing the first stage (I guess because for a moment there a quick glimpse of Stage 2 dialog box) I will get this error
Error 113: Extended ROM Update Error
And I repeated the process aboput 10 times with no luck.
Anyone care to point me to another rom that I can try?

right i usualy flame ppl for this, but as it was not you or your m8s fault:
1- got here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306600 and download the firmware
2 - make sure the phone is Fully charged
3 - put the phone in its cradle on a PC that running xp home or pro ONLY it will not work on vista. helps if you have activesync (u can get it from M$) then follow the instructions with the firmware. the program u want is called maupgrade.
4 - it will almost definatly fail the first time you run the updater (if its inactive for more than 15 mins, nothing changing on the updater screen as it should say its updating somink or other), DO NOT PANIC!! close the updater and run it again it will say no firmware found or anything it will work perfectly this time.. total time for update is 30~ mins.
BANG u have a working phone again hopfully!
"1- got here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306600 and download the firmware" -> This has exactly the same firmware/file/rom as this right -> http://www.maxishare.net/en/file/37...-1-04-bluetooth-patched-camera-fixed-rar.html right?
Anyways I am still downloading it tho it has the same file name I downloaded 3 days ago. Just like what I've said I already tried it (maupgrade) and followed the instructions and I think I only finished the first stage then it gave me the Error 113: Extended Rom update error
How bout an original ROM? Maybe somebody can give me the link because most of the links I found for original rom's are dead already.
Thanks.
you ARE runing a pc that uses the windows XP operating system?

Yes I am using XP. Anyones know where I can find original rom? Maybe I can try that.
BTW, just for the sake of seeing the whole process of rom flashing, I did upgrade my Himalaya (XDAII) last week to WM6 using rom for XDAII of course and it was successful. Now I only did that to see how it works but I'm sticking to WM6 for my XDAII but I still don't know what to do with my friends XDAIIi and revert it to working rom.

Error (262) for diamond2 wm 6.5

Hi,
Help me please just me and that happens to me the mistakes my God.... I had the original ROM version coming with my diamond2, put the upgrading and went well until the moment he arrived at 9% and restart the pda, re-install I think is normal, however the installation continued until k stopped in 18% and after a long time gave a notice of error (262) made the recovery as recommended and continues to give error ....
I do help me please
This just happened to me too
My phone was hardsplĀ“d
It stuck at 18%, but no error message so far. Did you unplug your phone?
Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425913
I'm not sure. Have you flashed other roms before? Perhaps you have a bad download. I know the servers are overloaded from all of us geeks sucking down the WM6.5 rom... perhaps its bad.
What I normally do is put the phone in bootloader mode first by holding VolDown, while resetting the phone. This will give windows time to install the proper drivers and get situated. Once done, try flashing again.
I think 262 is a connection error. Probably driver related since you said you ran your stock rom. But check your cable. Make sure its secure and reliable. Next try another USB slot. If nothing else try a different computer... sometimes PCs just will not cooperate.
Thank you very much fighter, will try that.
I had Official 6.1 Asia WWE installed, HARDSPLed. Tried to upgrade to 6.5 on my computer and my laptop, nothing worked. Both stops at 9%, disconnects, comes back and stucks at 18% again. Had to go back to 6.1, this time it worked to bring phone to life.
My phone was bought in Taiwan.
Guess I am out of luck
I think the best way to upgrade is as follows:
1. Run the RUU_Topaz_S_HTC_WWE_2.16.405.4_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship.exe on your PC/laptop to extract and get the RUU-signed.nbh.
2. Copy the RUU-signed.nbh to topaz SD card and rename to topaimg.nbh
3. Upgrade new ROM from SD card.
I had the same 262 error as well, screen went blank for a second at 9% and finally freezez at 18% with the error message. Heres what you need to do:
Update your HardSPL to 1.83
Flash 6.5 again
????
Profit!
Hello,
already did everything you say and nothing. I liked to tell me where I can get the former Rom wm6.1 because meeting.
help me please

Little history for my friends with same problem here:
1. Bought Diamond in Taiwan with Chinese;
2. HARDSPL 1.33;
3. Install Asia WWE 6.1 ROM;
4. Try update Official WWE 6.5 ROM, no luck, remove battery and put back;
5. Reinstall Asia WWE 6.1 ROM, everything back to normal;
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too
Hello,
I already installed the previous ROM with the 6.1 and everything was normal.
I tried to install again the OFFICIAL ROM 6.5 and the problem remains back to the error at 9% and 18% for the progress bar giving an error (262).
not understand some things as:
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too
is there any solution?
can help me
Sorry:
1. install Hard-SPL 1.83.OliNex (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312)
2. install 6.5 ROM or Cooked Rom.
It resets 9% again in Official ROM, but reconnects and go to 100% (no stop 18% again).
Dutty ROM no stop at 9% or 18%.
problem solved

When you run the RUU, the RUU-signed.nbh will be extract temporarily to a folder in driver C:
(For me: C:\Users\Duongla\AppData\Local\Temp\pft51D9.tmp)
Just do a search and you'll find it.
And remember to HSPL to 1.83.
i have the same problem too

Can't flash my HTC TD2

Hello XDA-ers.
I've flashed my phone with the new ROM from the htc website.
And today i wanted to put Dutty's ROM on it, but it wouldnt flash.. the update would get stuck on 0% and then nothing happens for 20 minutes..
I also tried the udK_Lea_R5_MW6.5_WWE rom but the same thing happened.
Is there something wrong with my phone?
Thanks in advance
You need to use Hard-SPL.
READ THIS and follow instructions!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
Simple things first:
Have you run HardSPL? (Latest version is required, 1.83 at time of writing).
Have you tried loading into Bootloader manually before attempting to flash? (Hold VolDown when powering on).
If those fail, try and identify what has changed since you flashed the original ROM.
Aaah didnt knew i needed HardSPL..
First time i flashed my ROM it immidiatly worked =p
Thought that ROM screwed my phone in ever being flashed again .
Just needed the HardSPL ^^
Working smooth now, thanks !

Cannot Install Stock ROM - Error Connection

Hi,
I am unable to run the stock ROM Utility for my phone. I have tried doing what it says in the Read-Me file and it hasn't helped. I have tried it with phone running normally and in boot loader mode too, but I am getting this error all the time.
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.3_Radio_52.49a.25. 26_1.09.25.14_Ship is my stock ROM which I downloaded from wiki pages.
I want to load Energy ROM on my device from Miri. I would do it straight up i.e. normal ROM loading procedure but I've read that it's recommended to install the Stock ROM (No, I would not like to do Task 29 since I am sticking with USPL) and then install Energy.
I tried a bit but couldn't find any solutions.
Cheers.
What's wrong with going the HardSPL route?
I would like to stick to the stock SPL thats why.
I did try to evade that error by the way by going into bootloader mode and upgrading to the latest drivers and not the ones that we use to install cooked ROM's; the setup ran fine but then came back with the Invalid Vendor ID.
When I installed Miri's ROM, this is the exact ROM & Radio version I had, so how come I have had this error? Any ideas
I would give straight installation from Miri's to Energy a go but then at the moment Miri's ROM is running kind of "ok" apart from battery drainage and with upgrading without flashing the stock rom, I fear I might start to get those errors and I would be back to square one of flashing a stock ROM; hence my idea of flashing the stock ROM.
I found the solution. Apparently I was selecting the incorrect ROM. I realised that when I got the Invalid Vendor ID error. I bought this phone second hand and I just reliased that it was on Orange. Flash to Stock ROM worked now preparing to flash kwbr's ROM
Cheers
