processor xScale 520Mhz and Intel Bulverde 520Mhz - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

In Italy we have QTEK 9000 and I-Mate Jasjar. It seems to me that one is equipped with xScale and the other one with Bulverde. Are there some differencies betwen them? One is better then the other?May be they are just the same!!

Its the same Processor. XScale is the Mobile processor Series from Intel and bulverde is the internal releasename.

ARM or MIPS

What type of processor does the XDAII use, ARM or MIPS?
The xda2 uses the pxa263 processor, this is an arm compatable chip afaik. The mips processor in pocket pc is a dead end, there is no upgrade path for these via new releases of firmware.
not sure if it also goes for pocketpc2000 but at least 2002 is not made for mips
arm and excale which are code compatible are the only cpu's currently supportet by pocketpc
When it comes to buying software it's the ARM version you need for the XDA II.

Benchmarking!

Anyone with some benchmarks yet?
Would be nice to see the difference between:
1.) Intel XScale Bulverde @ 416 MHz found in the Magician
2.) TI OMAP 850 @ 200Mhz found in the Wizard
Also, a comparaison of the battery life would be handy.
Cheers!
I am very interested in the actual performance of the Wizard against ie. the Himalaya.
Of course the cpu is TI and not Intel, but 195/200MHz instead of 400Mhz should make a difference. I can hardly believe the Wizard performs same/better than Himalaya.
Can someone post his/her experience and or bench marks?
I am more than happy to show my benchmark, if someone points to a tol that does test well
=================
Edit: Just googled & found this on http://www.gsmarena.com/i_mate_k_jam-reviews-1278.php :
the TI OMAP 850 processor that HTC uses in this phone has an ARM core, not an Xscale like like the Magician's Intel processor did. If you look at speed tests ARMs run at around twice the speed of Xscales, so this phone should be about as good as the JAM processorwise (Don't like how we only get 64mb of ram though). For details on the OMAP check out TI's site
http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wt...00&path=templatedata/cm/product/data/omap_850
JBenchmark 2 figures: http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/image/htc/tornado/jb2.gif found on http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-tornado-en.shtml
========
Looks like the OMAP chipset (=more than an ARM926 CPU) in the Wizard at least acts faster than the XScale found in the Magician

Activate GPS on TOUCH ?

Hi,
Is it possible ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1539468&posted=1
Thks !
elf's cpu
CPU: 32bit Texas Instruments OMAP 850
nike's cpu
CPU: 32bit Qualcomm MSM7200 (SoC)
because nikes is called touch II dont mean that they have the same cpu
nikes cpu have onchip gps
not sure if elf's does
names can be very decieving
Thx for precision.

Does the blackstone has 64mb more of gpu memory?

HELLO Y'ALL
I noticed that XPERIA X1 & Blackstone share almost the same
Specifications and use's the Qualcomm MSM7200A CPU which has an GPU
built in the CPU core
as i know the XPERIA X1 has an ATi 128mb and the Blackstone has 64mb
can it be unlocked to 128mb GPU?
regards

where did you get those information? i have both Touch HD and Xperia X1
i have noticed that the spec sheets of those phones are the same
and they use the same CPU
and they came from the same Factory (HTC Venus/Kovsky = XPERIA X1)

Zenfone 2E (yet another ZF2 model)

Just saw this on CNET: http://www.cnet.com/news/at-t-gophone-gets-entry-level-asus-zenfone-2e/
Specifications show that it only has 1 GB of RAM, so the bloatware might be more reduced
Thoughts comparing it to the 500CL maybe?
Intel CPU and 120$ If it has microSD its a good deal since internal storage is low.

yeah, it has "MicroSD card (up to 64 GB)". I wonder what the specs of that Intel Atom are. Maybe 1.5GHz?
''You can buy the black or white Asus ZenFone 2E at Walmart and Target stores immediately'' lols They get it before cellphone companies.
Since its x86_64 dual-core, I guess it will be a 64Bit Z3480 2.13Ghz or Z3460 1.6Ghz with half the Z3580 2Mb cache. Its their only two dual-core processors in Atom 3xxx series. They won't for sure use a 2 years old Atom 2xxx CPU.
This is a good site for hardware benchmarks in performance order:

Well its an AT&T exclusive right now apparently, so I guess its locked to GoPhone.

No, it's the good old Z2560. This phone is basically just a rebranded ZE500CL.

:crying: Was too good for 120$ I guess. How does the Z2560 compare to Z3460?

the 3000 series has nearly twice the performance per clock of the 2000 series, and a much improved GPU and turbo speeds.
I don't understand why they don't use Intel's 14nm CPUs. They are much cheaper, faster, more efficient and smaller.
CPU+GPU TDP 2W: http://ark.intel.com/products/85474/Intel-Atom-x5-Z8500-Processor-2M-Cache-up-to-2_24-GHz
Something like Atom X3 or X5. 14nm Intel Core M is targeted at tablets with 4.5W TDP but is close in performance to an Intel i3 2n Gen or i5 1st Gen.
I mean if there are 10.6'' 299$ Intel Core M tablets with 4Gb DDR3 64GB SSD 64GB ROM, why not the Atom 14m in cellphones?

I think that this is more of a clearance initiative for the CL models not really selling that much..take the remaining hardware... Build up a model for the lowest price point and realign sales accordingly.. More or less like the outrageous difference between the sales of the S6 and the S6 Edge.. The Edge is atleast 3x in sales whereas the "simple" version is being offered with 30% discount... It's simple business..
