Is a official release, so i think this link is legal.

Where can I find the new WM2005 build? Does it work on the Typoon?

wm5 will work on the typhoon, it is not worth the upgrade. too many problems if you want to go back to 2003se. I would stick with what you have until you either see a non beta official upgrade or you buy a device with it on there. wm5 has made my life a living hell. i am stuck with it, can not get back to any version of 2003se at all beause i did not back up the old rom correctly. nbftools has been a start of understanding the parts of rom and the upgrade packages but dont upgrade to wm5

I don't see any reason to downgrade from WM5 on the Typhoon. It is at least as stable as WM2K3se but quite faster.

Spanish ROM?
Does anyone knows if there is a version of WM 5.0 available in Spanish?
Thanks.

WM2003 problems

I have a WM2003 (ROM version A.30.09 ENG) on my SX56, that I had upgraded after putting in the SER to unlock the phone. Now WM2003 is much too buggy for me!
- the phone rings just once on an incoming call
- the system hangs every now and then
- apps take too damn long to start up
- ring volume is not very high
and on & on & on.......
I'd like to upgrade something more stable - either WM2002 or 2003 (if there's a stable version out there). Did go to LumpiStefan's kitchen but there are several options within the 2003 ROM's itself.
Can someone pls recommend to me which ROM would be best for me. And can I put in a T-Mobile ROM into the SX56?
TIA
Omi
A30.09 is known to have some issues with the sound.
TMO 4.01.00 is a very good and stable ROM, and yes you can use it with SX-56 device as long as you don't touch the RSU.
Thanks Biso007.
OK, so if I go to LumpiStefan's kitchen and cook a ROM there and put it into the phone, I would only be changing the PDA OS (and not doing anything to the RSU), correct? Just want to be sure before I go and experiment
Omi
How about the 4.01.16 ENG ? The kitchen says that it is the official TMO release? Can I go for that, since it guess it is the most recent release ?
Omi
4.01.16 ENG is working perfectly!
I would strongly recommend this ROM.. its WM 2003 version.
AND, I recommend the SD Card method.. flawless installation!
Question regarding newer ROM for the SX56
I have the older ROM and have not experienced any problems with anything that was mentioned. Am I just extremely lucky or is thing something I should expect to arrive shortly, considering I downloaded my newer ROM recently from the Siemens Site. I use everything on my phone and have no problems at all, only sh_ _ _ _ signal strength, damn AT&T! I would switch but still own then a year on my contract, so I won't go on and on about that.
Please let me know the pros to this newer ROM, at least in terms of stability and performance, if that is possible from someone that has loaded it.
Oh - one more Question...
Would I have to reload all my installed applications after flashing my ROM, or can I simply back them up and then restore them from backup without having to enter all the keys, and licenses that you would normally have to put in on the installation?
Thanks!

Some people encountered problems with 4.01.16, so I didn't want to risk especially that when I checked the system files and DLLs of this ROM I found that they are dated the same as the 4.01.00 ones!!

I 'm refering to A30.09 and its known sound bug (clipping) ... which ROM you mean ??
Wokay, 4.01.00 it is then
Thanks everyone, especially Biso007, appreciate your help.
Omi
Thaks everyone for your help, successfully upgraded to 4.01.00, though i lost all my contacts :-(
I had backed them up on a SD card and when I tried to restore that after upgrading, nada!
any ideas how i can get them back (i didn't sync with oputlook before the upgrade).
Omi
SD backup can be restored only to the same ROM version
It's a silly task if you really want your contacts back (long list I mean) .. flash your ROM to the old version, restore the SD backup, sync with outlook, flash the new ROM version, sync with outlook again ...
Don't you think that keying your contacts is easier ??

Flashing iMate SP3 to WM2005

I follow the instructions in another thread about upgrading to WM2005, but when I hold down the camera button and connect my phone to the USB cable, I see the following:
****
Typhoon
IPL 1.00
Typhoon
SPL 1.01.0181
Typhoon
USB
*****
I don't see the UI after the last Typhoon, and I always error out when trying to upgrade. Can anyone help me get past this point? Thanks.
you need bootloader version 1.01.0109.
google for SPVDEVS-SPL.nbf
willem
Thank you...I will download the file. After I do, how do I flash the phone?
don't install it, Wm2003 is so better than 2005, it is beta version, like longhorn... I upgraded but now I'm looking for how can I downgrade to 2003... Don't load...
Thanks for the feedback. I realized I am extremely happy with my iMate SP3 running 2003SE. I will wait to see if someone releases a non-beta WM2005 ROM before upgrading, or maybe I will just purchase a new phone.

There is a way to downgrade b4 upgrading to 5.0 as I read from other forums. I knew you needed to make a full backup to your WM2003 SE on SD in purpose to revert back..
My SPL version is 2.00.0013 and even with SPVDEVS-SPL.nbf it don't want to come to the 1.01.0109 version... Can you help me??

Don't install Wm5... Because:
1. Camera is not working. Actually working but it is so bad from Wm2003
2. Flight mode is sometimes working some times not working...
3. MMS is not there
4. Some programs is not working
5. it can be collapse suddenly ( I live it)
So, it is not good idea... Because it is not full version it is beta version... Don't load it....

what AKU does my XDA Exec have?

Hello
Can you guys tell me how to find out which AKU does my xda exec have?
i checked in the about and it says windows mobile verion 5.0 OS 5.1.1700 (build 14354.0.1.1)
Based from what you posted, your AKU version is 1.1 found at the very end of the "BUILD" numbers. I think it is time for you to upgrade soon or you will be left alone in the stone age. LOL
thanks for the reply
so my AKU is determined by these numbers "14354.0.1.1"?
i am on O2, should i go to the O2 website and download the latest AKU?

One clarification though, you can't upgrade just the AKU version. You have to upgrade the entire ROM. Unless you know how to dissect the package ROMs.
The AKU version is the last 2 digits. So it is definitely time for you to upgrade.
I think O2 only released an updated ROM with only AKU2 support the last time I tried it. All I can remember was it has radio 1.11.00 (which sucks here in New Jersey) so I used Orange's Radio 1.13.00 which is newer and definitely better. O2's official release has no A2DP stereo support, so I did not use this ROM.
I already tried all the ROMs that are available here in this forum, if you want speed and stability with the latest AKU 3.2 and A2DP support. Try JWright's Modified ROM. You won't be disappointed.
Instructions for upgrading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=269118
JWright's ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279258
Good Luck.
thanks for the reply
i gess the radio is the UMTS/GPRS protocol stack, does an update mean i will lose any applicatrions already installed?
how did jwright manage to piece together a ROM?

If you are just going to upgrade the radio then you won't loose your installed applications. But always perform a backup to be safe.
I don't know how he manage to add the new features. You will have to ask him for that.
thanks for the reply
jwright's ROM works with all makes?
does installing a ROM give you the option if installing sections of the ROM?

No JWright's ROM installer is designed to be directly installed on an IMate Universal. That is why I posted the instructions on how to upgrade, so you have to extract the files from the .exe file provided by JWright, then use the MaUpgradeNOID Tool to install it in a non IMate device.
My instructions from the above link is complete. 3 files you have to know (.nbf files), are listed there. Taking one off the list will retain whatever ROM version you currently have on your device.
thanks dude

Stable ROM(s)

Hi. I have an MDA G3 running xelecin's 2.26 cooked ROM and the 2.47 radio upgrade. I've been having problems with my phone freezing.. Is this a common problem with all ROMs, or do i have an out of date ROM? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
I tried several ROMs!
Most 'home cooked ROms' had problems and issues, so, finally I decided to go with an official ROM and had no further problems!
what's the latest "official" version for the MDA G3?
What language and which network provider?

USA and T-Mobile.. i read that they don't make a WM6 ROM. I just downloaded a file called "crossbow_reloded_ver1.5.zip" Is this a ROM?
Thanks,
Yep, you will have to unzip it!
Don't be disappointed if that WM6 ROM will not work properly!
The latest official T-Mobile USA ROM is 1.26.2 and can be downloaded at the T-Mobiles homepage! It is almost the latest version. Only T-Mobile Germany has a newer WM5 (AKU3.3) available, bit since that one is in German I do not think you want that?
All available WM6 ROMs are 'user-created', either ripped off from other devices (with other hardware) or build up from a BETA which was around for a while. Most of them have software added which you might not want! Lots of them are even stripped down to get more free available memory in the MDA.
Until now I couldn't find any WM6 cooked ROM without any issues ... that is why I stick with the official one.
Beside that 'cool VISTA look' and HTML support in email (pocket outlook) I could not find any improvements from version WM5 anyway!
HTML email you can get by installing FLEXMAIL 2007 on your MDA, so, why bother and risk to end up with a brick?
I have to respectfully disagree. WHile cooked WM6 roms aren't perfect, I've been running a few now that perform for me better than any stock rom from a provider has ever worked for me. It does really depend on how much your use your phone and what all you do with it to find the right rom for you (so I finally made my own, which is the Crossbow Reloaded v1.5 you have.). I'll admit, its not perfect, but it fits my use. I'll probably be tweaking it some more in the next week or so as I continue to try to "perfect" the rom...
i haven't installed crossbow reloaded 1.5 yet.. so all it does is change the OS part? should i change my radio from the 2.47 one to that UK radio rom that's going around.. eventhough i live in the usa.. also, did you have to downgrade the ROM before upgrading?
Thanks,
-Adam

What is the latest Official ROM of TMobile?I just find 2.21 ROM in http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/download_manager_mda_vario.html.
Is this latest?
And what about 2.26 final of Molski? Is it stable? My wizard is G4 chip!
goto t-mobile.com and search for MDA ROM; 2.26 is the latest official ROM..
Where can I go to get the latest faria ROM? is it the crossbow-reloaded 1.5 ROM, or something else..? I download Molski's latest ROM (the one the the 8MB page pool).. it's the one from his website under the "latest ROM" link.. I can't figure out which to use.. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Let's try if you want to know. But if you want a stable ROM,let's use WM5 official. It's reason i want to find a latest offical ROM.2.21 is aku 2.0 ROM.So i can't restore clock on task bar.I'm using Molski 2.26 final. But it's cooked ROM.I think it can't more stable than official ROM.Is it true?

WM 6.1 not available for everybody ?

Hello,
I just tried to download the official 6.1 upgrade from HTC's website, but when I submit my serial number (verified under the battery and on the Touch's box) The website denies access to the download saying that Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device..
Is this problem common ? Is there a workaround ?
Are you from France? If yes - try official 6.1 FRA ROM here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431738
No s/n needed!!!
Thank you !
Not for India..
Yeah its not available for India too... although I don't know if this applies for Asia in general. Also we get the Mapking gps and not Tomtom. I guess that may be one reason... or something else...

Ok I see.. well here is the Radio ROM version according to the Device Information screen: Radio Version: 1.58.25.14 Protocol: 25.69.30.05W. Hope it helps.
just got my cruise yesterday, already did hard-spl using olipros hard-spl. also upgraded to wm6.1 i got my wm6.1 rom from wiki of polaris. wm6.1 has tomtom but i didnt use it, i installed mapking(comes with the package) on my polaris. you can also find the radio rom in the wiki.
thanx a lot guys... with the info i was able to downgrade from the official HTC WM 6.1 ... am able to use custom ROMs now... am basically at the same version levels as KULL now... the only difference being the protocol... i have 25.69.30.05H to his 25.69.30.05W... dont know what that means... from what i could gather 'H' supports a few more bands for GSM and UTMS than a 'W'. doesnt really make a diff to me... but i havent been able to connect to GPRS on airtel... dont know if the W/H diff is doing that... sorting that out now... thanx again
WM 6.1 for Asia / India
Hi,
I'm in India too and want to find out if others in Asia / India have upgraded to this official WM 6.1!
Is it worth moving to 6.1 and if so where can I download that WWE 6.1 ROM? As someone mentioned, I cannot download it from the official HTC site with my serial number as it seems its not available for my region.
I did hard SPL earlier and now running udk version on that which is very stable and I'm using it for about 5-6 months now - no issues at all. Dont want to get into any trouble while upgrading to this official one, but if its smooth and similar stability, I would like to move to the official ROM for now.
Thank you.
I don't know about the rest of Asia, but surely not available yet for India. I also got an email confirmation from Support recently. Will have to wait and watch, I think they were in a hurry to bring out ROM update for the Diamond since the launch it has received very luke warm response also got some bad word of mouth publicity where people found it buggy. Guess it should come some time...
