SMT5600...."checksum error" ??? - HTC Typhoon

have an ATT, audiovox SMT5600. Have had it for almost a year now? And its been almost a perfect phone.
Paid to get it unlocked from Florin months ago.
Today I had the bright idea of backing up my ROM image. I followed the instructions, using Teratermpro and backed up my original ROM on the storage card.
The phone rebooted afterwards, started up just fine. Then i reset it again, and the prompt came up to download the Image from my SD card. I figured, what the hell, if its my original ROM image it should be fine. So i just did it to test, and hit "yes" to put the rom image on. Once again, this is my original ROM image and have never upgraded or downgraded, EVER.
Now my phone decides it wants to stay in the Canary screen every time it starts up. I've tried numerous times to download my original rom from the card, but all i get is:
FORMAT BINFS success.
Checksum Error!
and nothing happens.
So now i've gone and downloaded the Cingular ROM for SMT5600. Used WinHex, bought a storage card reader. Formatted the card with the new ROM, and i still get the SAME exact results.
Is my phone fried?

Can't start my XDA's botloader

Hi guys,
Recently I updated my XDA Orbit with the new WM6.1 Diamondish ROM. Everything went great until I tried to install the Oops 6.1 ROM. Before trying to install the Oops ROM I tried to unlock the CID just in case (with your Artemis_USPL tool)... Half way through the setup screen displayed an error saying "Connection error... Please check the USB connection...". Just to clarify I never managed to install the Oops file.
Then I tried to install the original XDA WM6 ROM but with no luck as I got the same error again. Then I tried to start the bootloader manually (by pressing the voice recorder button along with the Reset one) and instead of the usuall 3 colour screen I got a blank white one. Afterwards the phone froze and I had to reset it so that I can use it again.
I did a small search on your website but because I wasn't able to find another similar case I decided to start a new thread.
Currently my phone works perfectly fine with my previous Diamondish ROM, but I seems that I can't install anything else.
Could it be a corrupted bootloader? If so, how can I fix it?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in andance!!!
Take out your MicroSD card and then try and flash
You were right! Once I got my memory card off my phone, the bootloader started as usual. Cheers mate!!!

[Q] Hardware-locked and bricked Vibrant shipped to T-Mobile with all of my data

I had a hardware-locked Vibrant and requested a replacement from T-Mobile. I get shipped a new unit, and it works perfectly. I migrated everything to the new replacement- internal sdcard files, external sdcard files, apps and data (backed up and restored using Titanium backup), etc. I'm happy with the new phone.
So I tried using ODIN to restore the defective old Vibrant back to factory firmware. I downloaded these stock firmware images, I did an MD5 integrity check and it passed, and I followed all instructions on the post. ODIN never worked or appeared to do anything (after waiting half an hour), even after installing Samsung Kies + drivers, and rebooting my PC 3 times. So after 4 or 5 hours of trying all this, I turned off my defective phone and power it back on. It appears that ODIN ****ed it up, and the connect-phone-to-PC image appears on screen. I tried every method to enter download mode, and nothing works. I already shipped the device to T-Mobile since I was close to being over my return duration limit (7 days to return defective device).
---
The problem is that it's possible that my internal sdcard, system, data, and everything else is still on the phone but it just couldn't boot. OR... maybe ODIN repartitioned everything (I checked "repartition" in ODIN after a few fails) and therefore nothing is on the phone which is why it couldn't boot. I REALLY hope that my data is not on there.
My question is if T-Mobile will be responsible with my data (if it's still on there), or if some stupid hooligan working at T-Mobile will try to dump my phone's contents and take the dumped image and use it for his own purposes.
Another question is if ODIN detects the phone, but appears to be stuck in the process of flashing, will the data on the phone be formatted? If this is the case, then I do not need to worry about my data being stuck on the shipped phone.

[Q] Soft Bricked handset

Hello,
I've got (had) an SM-G900W8 running the XtreStoLite v2.0 LP BETA5 ROM on the XXU1BOA3 kernel. I installed TWRP 2.7 via Odin, and left the latest modem and bootloader updates I got through KIES3.
At which point I got the chance to sell the handset on Kijiji, provided I could get the stock ROM back on.
I downloaded the latest Odin (3.09) and the correct Firmware for my handset from sam mobile, and factory reset the device. I pulled the battery, let it sit, and tried to flash once I got it back up in download mode, and it wouldn't work.
This isn't too much of a surprise to me, because since I flashed TWRP, Odin hasn't ever worked for me. Regardless of how many times I've tried to flash the modem and/or BL that XtreStoLite asked me to use in their how to thread, it wouldn't work. I was willing to ignore it b/c the ROM worked with the modem and BL it was running.
My problem is that once I tried to reboot, the system hung at the BL animation. I went back into recovery, and tried to move my backups off my external storage (I had 2 back ups that were about 2 or 3 gigs each, too much for the local storage) to the local card and restore (b/c TWRP won't restore from the external card) and the back ups failed.
Now I've got the BL screen, but it won't advance to the animation, and it won't boot to TWRP either.
I tried to restore from KEIS, but it says my device isn't supported by KIES 3 (it is). I could really use a hand here. Every time I try something this gets worse. I'm no pro, but I've had no problem figuring this out on my old HTC handsets.

SIM Card not usable after flash

Hello Community! I hope I am right here, otherwise please just move this thread to where it belongs to, thanks!
I have a serious problem with my sgs 8 (950F). I flashed newest twrp, magisk, renovate-ice-g95x-r164 and no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1. Everything worked fine and like a charme. I decided to update to a nightly version (worst decision ever) and before i was able to flash, twrp said: zip file corrupted. So I decided to go back to version 164 via the full backup i´ve made in twrp before. After the restore-process was finished, the device didn´t recognize the sim card anymore. So I tried to go back to stock firmware, which did not work since (after odin says pass) the firmware always stops at 32% and erases everything but the download mode on my phone. So I flashed twrp again, made a full wipe und data format and installed the renovate ice 164 again. After the boot, the sim card is detected and I also have to unlock it with the pin code. The problem is, that i can´t enter the network (Austria/Telering) and also I can´t search for any networks with my sim card, only emergency call is available. I am desperately looking for a solution to solve that problem and since I am no expert when it comes to details in flashing and the connections between hardware and software, i really could need help from experts. My guess is, that something is wrong with the modem. Can this be solved by flashing the mode new via odin? Stock firmware is not able to be flashed on my device, because of the error I mentioned above.
Thanks for you help and time!

Axon 7 Mini Soft Brick cannot apply update from SD

I have only used stock roms on this phone. I originally upgraded my phone from a UK carphone warehouse rom 6.1 (B2017G UKV1.0.0B01)? I think?? That was a few years ago and upgraded to Nougat using the methods used in this forum.
I found that the wifi would sometimes disappear from the phone and you would have to reboot the phone to get wifi working again. That is ok but after about 3 times of having to do this over a period of a few months it would go again BUT then would then need a factory reset to get the wifi going again! After a year of doing three factory resets
i tried to revert to the older MM 6.1.
I used a ROM that i downloaded from here when i first done upgraded
anyhow i placed ROM in SD and proceeded with the downgrade it went fine up to 81% then got stuck then i restarted the phone again and it got stuck again, so i tried to flash from the SD in recovery mode instead and it says "sorry you can`t sdcard upgrade" so i then pressed reboot system and then it just hangs a the logo.!!
I have rooted phones in the past my last was an LGG2, and a brilliant tool was available so you could flash any stock rom back onto the phone if you had any trouble with custom or stock roms. but there does not seem to be any such tool from ZTE.
If you can help in any way?, i would be delighted!!
THANKS!!
(Soz if i posted in wrong area!)
I got the phone booted through EDL and EDL tool & backup files provided by this site. It took me a while to find all the info i needed.
Also renaming the files from boot to boot.img etc in the edl folder took a bit to work out as the tool kept telling me the files were insufficient!
All good now managed to downgrade to 6.1 UK ...Thanks XDA!!
