US Magician works in sweden? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hello.
I live in sweden and i'm very interested in purchasing a magician. Since everything is so expensive here in sweden and im going to USA soon i thougt i might be able to buy one there! Theres only one problem:
I don't know if the US version works here in sweden!?
If it doesn't, does anyone know how to change it so it does?
Im going to New York, manhattan, does anyone know a good and cheap place to buy it around there?
I would be EXTREMELY grateful for any answer
Cheers!
//Anton

Buy from Germany.
US version is not out yet, and it won't work well in Europe.
What currently sells in US is the European 900MHz version.

Since i'm going to USA and the $ is very low right now, i'm not going to buy it from germany, and what do u mean with "European version" ? Germany is in europe, isn't it?
Do u know when it comes to USA then? I'm going there in the end of Februari

The US version will run 850MHz
THe other version 900MHz.
European phone networks run on 900. The 850MHz is not out yet so they're only selling the other version now in the US.
How much do you expect to pay in dollars?

i have no idea really... @ expansys USA it costs $ 649 so, maybe $ 700 maybe, i don't know how much more it costs in the stores....

www.mobilejoker.de

I bought at blueshop24.de but I would be an idiot if I recommended them. Try mobilejoker, lower price higher shipping, turns out the same.
I got my phone yesterday have reflashed it to english, piece of cake, and made sure the t-mobile modifcations didnt get installed.
I'm really satisfied for now, but there is a lot to explore

is there any warranty? Wouldn't be so fun if something gets broke like a pixel and u can't fix it....
And is there any site in english, spanish or swedish ? Not so good at german...
How long does the shipment take?
I'm still thinking of buying it in New York, but not shure....
Thank's for all your help!

I used www.freetranslation.com to convert the text to English when filling the forms.
My shipping took about 1 week and a half because I placed my order in the middle of the christmas break.

Yes the Imate Jam which are currently being sold in the U.S. will work in Europe, they are selling the 900mhz model. Same as what you would buy in Europe/UK. Imate has not yet released the 850mhz version and will not till around mid february there abouts. So all the jams that are sold now are the 900mhz band. I purchased one from expansys.com and it is the 900mhz with the UK 3 prong charger.

Thanks! Finally someone who talk so i can understand But, can anyone pleaase explaine to me what 900 mhz and 850 mhz is and what is the differens and so on. Maybe a dumb question but i have no idea!
And what does the UK charger look like?
THANKS!

European networks use 900MHz.
Most US networks work on 850. I think T-Mobile works on 900 in some places and so very few Americans can use the Jam that's currently on sale in the US.

If you don't understand, just ask.

I thought about getting it from Germany as well, but I didn't want the trouble of dealing with Germans if the device breaks or malfunctions in any way. The legislation is good for consumers in Sweden and I wouldn't want to loose that.
For example, my S100 will need some service, so right now I'm glad that I bought it in Sweden. One corner of the back is a bit loose, but I guess the service center can solve that problem easily.

Put 2+2 together perhaps? There's no such thing as a free lunch! You want the 5 yr Swedish warranty instead of the low foreign prices? Fine - you need to pay for it.
Me personally, I dont plan on keeping any of these devices for more than 1 year before I sell it, so I'd rather not pay the Scandinavian prices....

What I'm saying is that if, or rather when as in my case, I will have to return the device for service, during that 1st year, I'd rather not talk to a "no comprende" speaking German who doesn't want to add costs to his logistics.
This is the particular kind of device I want an effective warranty on because of any peculiar oddities that might occur - high tech, very new to the market, no service record. And as I said, my S100 will need some service.
But, of course, there are a lot of perfectly good dealers out there, and most of the time, most of those aren't the cheapest ones. It's easy to shoot oneself in the foot, but service and support doesn't come free, in Scandinavia nor any place else.
And it is still up to every and all to decide where to put their money, just wanted to add my few cents.

It seems like many Arabians (UAE,Kuwait,Egypt etc) are active in here i think we deserve a united thread for all our news/discussions starting with release dates/prices so i hope this will be the one thread for all of us
So far the Note II landed in Kuwait/UAE for about 760$ and supposed to land in KSA in 3/4 days for 740$ I'm interested in prices W/O warranty to be honest anyone knows supposed prices for these units?
Great topic for MEA users.
I already sold my SGnote and waiting to buy Note 2. It'll be in KSA within a week and price is 2700SR from Axiom.

How much does it coast in Jordan?
Only 2 hours of driving from Israel
Just kidding... Of course Israel is no included in the middle east releases... We have here a very bad importer! It took them forever to get the first Note. (They import fast only the Galaxy S series)
Hi,
Does anyone know if the model sold in the Middle East is 4G/LTE enabled?
I asked Handtec and they told me that the model they have in stock is 3G only

I honestly dont know mate, and believe me they will never be as bad the importers here in Egypt, quite annoying to find the Note prices in Canada (Int version) are higher than the Gulf/ME so i will just get it from here

I checked a Saudi Telecom company website to check if they have the note and its their for pre-orders and in the listings it says 4G,but honestly the whole middle east will get the international version which INDEED have 4G, but we already dont have 4G so its quite useless maybe that's what he meant that it wont work so only 3G will work :fingers-crossed:
Is it already being sold in Jordan ?

I wouldn't recommend to buy without warranty, you end up paying around a 100 $ less and take a risk of getting a faulty device.

[Q] Preorder deals in germany

Hi guys,
after a long time of absence i'm finally going to come back to the HTC folks. Has anyone seen good preorder deals in Germany? If i look to idealo (the standard german comparison site), i only see way too expensive deals starting from 666 €.
If i look to clove i'd have to pay 610 € for the preorder deal (incl. shipment - 32GB version)
Idealo has the 64gb version for 780 €.. Way too expensive if you ask me.
So.. I'd like to have the 64GB version.
Any comments welcome..
cheers
EDIT: This site is giving an overview for preordering deals at providers.. I don't see any information about the 64GB version yet. I could be the 32GB version on friday in Hamburg for 600 €, but unfortunately i'm not at home until next week.

Personally, I won't buy it at O2. If not at Vodafone in Berlin, I'll wait for Mediamarkt or Saturn. Hope at that time the shops will have some special offer or voucher to give.
I guess you can also make use of the german "Widerruf"-law and only cancel the contract and keep the phone.

For the longest time many in Taiwan and many in Hong Kong look down on Chinese Mainlanders and view themselves as being the better people when all in all they are all Chinese lol.. This usually irks the Mainlanders from China along with those from Taiwan and Hong Kong. I have been Asia for quite some time now and am not Chinese. At the end of the day they are all Chinese. Yes the ones in Hong Kong are from Hong Kong and the ones from Taiwan are from Taiwan but at the end of the day all of them are Chinese!
Back to the main topic of smartphones, Hong Kong usually gets the international edition and usually the one with 4G or LTE which is nice. In Taiwan HTC pretty much Fuc*ed their own people over by being stingy and taking out the 4G/LTE option and just selling their device with the 3G model. Then HTC wonders why they lose market share to Samsung and others

brother the tpu cases are available at some places in Mumbai they will be available at my place around 1 or 2 weeks . and will be cheaper too .u can wait if you want , too get a choice among the colors and quality.
if you are planning to order and are confident that they are of excellent quality then go a head man.
is this anyhow allowed on xda ? Although i would suggest you to wait for sometime and go for a genuine version because these cases are not gonna live longer.

I woudn't spend more that 200 bucks on cases. Official version s are not hand-made. They are made in china same place just sold at 10 times more price. I have a 60 rs case on my S4! Single case costs ridiculous but 10 lot is lot cheaper thats why I am asking if anyone is interested.
I am not doing business here.

Buying an Axon 7 in Europe - Questions about different versions

I'm from Spain and I really want to get an Axon 7, but I can't decide where to get it and what to do with it since there are three different versions (A2017, A2017U and A2017G).
I immediately cross out the A2017U off the list since I don't think there is any way to get it from here. That leaves me with two options:
- Get the A2017 from Aliexpress
- Get the A2017G from Amazon
Here is what I'm debating myself on:
- The A2017 from Aliexpress is 50€ cheaper than the A2017G from Amazon, but it only has one year of warranty versus two years if I get it from Amazon. I am careful with my phone so I don't think it makes much of a difference other than the price and the version.
- From what I've read in forums, the A2017G is apparently worse than the A2017, regarding physical aspects like the audio jack output being less powerful, and internal aspects like software accesibility. I'm not really sure about this, I hope someone can illuminate me.
The idea that I have right now is to get the A2017 version from Aliexpress and ask for an unopened box so the seller doesn't install anything on the phone (I've read that the phone won't update if this happens), and then install what's needed myself, but I don't know how hard/dangerous that is.
I need a lot of help here, thank you very much.
I had the A2017G and have the A2017 now. I would say the 2017 feels better to use and a bit snappier than the 2017g version.
The only downside is some of the apps are in Chinese and i am unable to create a zte account right now. Can't get the sms code to come through.
Still prefer this and you can have a better specced phone in terms of storage and ram

If you buy ftom amazon you have 3 years waranty. I have g model and it is great. Sound is loud enough for me with headphones. The Chinese version does not have european LTE bands, so no LTE if you buy Chinese version... The phone is great, I don't know what are people talking about... Nougat is on the way and cm13 is also almost finished is you like to root and flash roms.. The phone is one of the fastest i ever seen.

As you can see. ..i have LTE in the uk.
Signal strength is good inside the house in comparison to other phones as well.

That is really great, thank you for the confirmation picture.
Did you have to do anything to the phone related to software when you first got it? Or did your seller install the things for you?
Seller installed stuff, and had a leaflet sarong you can't do factory reset etc.. but i reset and upgraded the firmware to b11. Nothing else

I'd also add that chances are you'll have to pay 15 euro + VAT extra (In case of Belgium for example, with a VAT of 21%, this adds the hefty sum of 96 euros) if the customs officers catch your phone.

I am aware of that. That's a point in favor of buying from Amazon, even if the price is a little bit more expensive.
I think that chinese model does not have band 20. This is used in europe I don't know for the uk...
Diffrences in bands. Chinese model won't have lte in europe..
And better update support for the "without G" modell , easyer root ,bootloader unlock but as kodmusa shown, different bands
Need a better email app. The stock one doesn't push the emails...wish I could have the Samsung email

How reliable is "WillMyPhoneWork.net"?
According to that website, the A2017 is completely compatible with the service my carrier offers.
Here is a screenshot of the results:
https://gyazo.com/b7282b0dc1334e68ae75eff96ddff4cc
Also, if the A2017 is easier to root and unlock, it's probably going to be the best option.
You can root the g model same way as other models. LTE will work for you but with slower speeds, because some bands are missing.
So if the only plus that the A2017G model has over the A2017 is that the connection is a little bit faster, I think I can safely get the A2017 from Aliexpress for a cheaper price.
Thank you very much for your answers!

Have you ever dealt with RMA with China-based ASC's? You do know that ZTE Europe won't accept your device in case you need a repair, right?
Plus, you're wasting 3 years warranty, 6 months screen repair and & 3 years liquid spillage repair for what? A marginal dB difference in sound (did you even listened both models in person? Was that ever proved to be real?)? To save a measly 50€ IF you aren't caught by customs?
Why not just buy it via Amazon with Prime and return it for free in case you don't like it?
And in regard to the Bootloader, who's to say it won't be standardized in N?

I would check at your phone operater which bands are needed for lte. Show them my screenshot just to be shure that lte will work.
I also recommend you to buy european version...
I would pick a better warranty over other features anyday. The headphone low volume already has a work around on these forums. If anything has to go wrong with your phone I think the warranty process will be a huge hassle with the Chinese model. I have a G version and the headphone is plenty loud as is.
Never say never as far as things that can go wrong with your phone goes. Even if you are incredibly careful with how you use your phone, you can't guard against manufacturing defects The only motivator for buying the Chinese one could be the lower cost. Is it worth your time if you end up wanting an RMA?

I'm sorry, but i bought the Chinese model because it has the 128gb storage and not because it's cheaper. Also, I've never used any warranty for any of my phone's.... Ever! So not bothered you much about that. Android phones are so easy to take apart and do any repair necessary. I'm very happy with this one.

Yes well however I was referring to the OPs situation and considerations not yours Also, it is important to consider that not all users are power users or are comfortable with taking their phone apart. The warranty is important in the case of a manufacturing defect as I mentioned which unfortunately is a known concern with some batches of this device. No one can deny the the Chinese model especially the 128 GB ones are cheaper on AliExpress but I suppose that one isn't available on Amazon anyway so it's safe to assume that the OP is looking to buy the 64 GB one Cheers!
