MMS Setting Cingular EZWAP 2.5 ? - Networking

Hi,
I have a question, it seems not a lot of people is using cingular with this phone. But I'm trying to setup EZWAP to use MMS with my phone. Does anything know the settings for it? Like push, server, etc... I do have GPRS working and the phone connects to the internet no problem. The setting I have now is:
no push (what does push mean?)
msg server: http://mmsc.cingular.com
sender address type: phone number
sender address: my phone#
When I try to send it connects to my GPRS and after awhile says send failed. Any clues? THanks a lot.

Has someone figured out MMS on T-Mobile in the USA?

I've found instructions on their site, and various other places, but no joy. I can make GPRS connections and send/receive SMS just fine, but MMS simply times out.
mms setting tmobile usa
i might be able to help ill post tomorrow with the settings
T-Mobile MMS
First... In order for you to receive MMS messages, your GPRS has to be connected to wap.voicestream.com
2nd in your MMS application you need to point the MMS application to use the wap.voicestream.com profile.
3rd. The gateway address is listed as 216.155.165.050 well.. I'm here to tell you .. that leading 0 messes everything up, just get rid of it and use 216.155.165.50 instead.
This should get you connected.
Brandon
I'm unable to connect to wap.voicestream.com, so it seems I need to get them to authorize it...
What is the server address to put in the MMS settings? I have:
http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Authorize
Yeah.. Have them set you up and let them know that you have a device that uses Picture Messaging.
Well, that works if I manually connect to the WAP gateway and set the MMS software to use "The internet" as the connection. Thanks!
Any ideas on how to make it auto-dial the WAP connection when it needs to, so I can leave the normal gateway as the internet default? Otherwise I have to switch it manually every time I want to use the VPN.
With these settings, it's still not working for me. What should I put for the port number?
Use port 9201
Are any of you getting free internet anymore? I stopped using my phone for a while, but I haven't gotten free internet in a while and its buggine me. Someone suggested signing up for t-zones and then using wap.voicestream.com, but I don;t want to waste the money unless I have to. Thanks.
Port 9201 worked! Thanks, imagine_einstein!!

O2 MMS not sending out

Sorry if this has been answered before (but I can't find a solution).
I have loaded latest o2 rom in corporate mode and entered the MMS config but all I get is :
"Unable to send your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in the Outbox."
The settings I have are:
For MMS settings
server O2UK
193.113.200.195
port 9201
server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
I have a wireless connection at home and am not sure what MMS should connect through (connect via choice in settings).
Anyone have an idea or had the same problem?
Steve
i have had the same problem. never figured out how to get it to send, despite trying lots of things in connection settings, so gave up in the end.
would be interested to hear the answer tho! )
Use your gprs operator settings.. You cannot have any other connection...
hey here are the O2 settings that work for me to enable sending of MMS Messages
in MMS Configuration under servers i have
Server Name O2UK
Gateway 193.113.200.195
Port number 9201
Server address http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via My Work Network
Then in settings under the connections tab click on Connections
Add a new modem connection under My Work Network
This should be called something like o2 Active connecting using Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point wap.o2.co.uk
username o2web
password password
leave everything else as default.
This should let you send MMS Messages, it works for me!
Thanks mjames_84 those settings are working now.
Hope it helps others too.

ah... this might be the problem - i do
i already have a connection setup in both "My Connections" and "My Work Connections"
is there no way around this?
tried deleting the other connection in "My Work Connections" and yup - MMS sends fine now. not sure what i'll do when i need that connection again, but for the moment - yay, MMS fun
One thing I have noticed ....
Even with the settings above - I cannot get MMS to send with "WAP 2.0" selected (default setting) under MMS configuration
As soon as I select WAP 1.2 they send straight away
Anyone else noticed this ?
Hmm I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think if you want to use WAP2.0 you have to specify a different port. I seem to remember that when using personal mode instead of corporate it was set up to use WAP2.0 and the port was different to the settings I had previously written down from my old XDAII....I still used the settings from my XDAII cause I know that they worked.
Can anyone (mad enough) running the full personal installation with o2 Active find out what port is used my default when using WAP2.0 for sending MMS Messages?
Port number for WAP 2.0 is 8080
Thanks Lord Buckingham
Does anyone know what the difference is between WAP 1.2 and 2.0? Is 2.0 faster? better? more secure?

But even with port 8080 selected I still can't send MMS with wap 2.0 selected - yet with 1.2 I can send them via port 9201 or 8080 ! the port number was the first thing I changed when I had problems , from the default 8080 to 9201 (which seemed to be the obvious choice ) so it seems that wap 2.0 just doesn't work for me
very strange ! I'd be interested to know if anyone is using 2.0 successfully (just out of curiousity)
I sent one near the start, but had to reduce the pic size below 100K or something, if I recall....
Anyone confirm what the limits are on O2?
I still cannot get it to send using any of the above settings or the original ones that o2 active install. If I use the o2 3g contract sim that came with it then it sends with NO PROBLEM whatsoever, BUT I don't use my contract sim ever, I use a o2 online sim which I have used for years.
Any ideas?
Is the settings different for PAYG and for CONTRACT ?
If so then I need the settings for PAYG please guys, can you help?
if you are using an old "on line" SIM I suspect that it might be one of the old Genie internet SIMs, so the settings may be different. Try setting the device up as pay and go, so change the APN to "payandgo.o2.co.uk" , username "payandgo", password "password", all the other settings should be the same. If this fails, climb into a large bottle of red wine, sometimes its the only way
Hey, i couldnt get it to download a message and the fix above worked.
Im assuming that as it connected to the 3g network that it charged me for d/ling the message yeah?
can it to be set to do it when its synced with the computer or in a wifi area?
Cheers
JAmes
Got mine working with WAP 2.0 !!
The settings I have are:
Server: O2UK
193.113.200.195
Port 8080
Server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via: The WAP Network

T-Mobile USA MMS & XM6r3

I have a T-Mo USA MDA with XM6r3. I am not receiving any MMS messages. If I try a send and receive in the MMS messages inbox I get an error synching. Regardless of whether it is supposed to sync or not, I am not getting any MMS messages.
This is what I have setup;

Port - 9201
Server address - http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via - T-Mobile MMS (other choices are My work, my isp, work, secure wap, the wap, the internet)
Sending Size Limitations - 300K
Wap Version - 2.0 (1.2 also available)
Does this sound right? Anything else I should be doing?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This is what I use.

Download network wizard and copy cab file to phone. Delete all current connection settings including MMS settings and then install Network Wizard and run it. Select USA as the country and T-Mobile as your carrier and it will automatically configure it all for you and it will work afterwards. What it does is automatically downloads your settings from the network for a painless setup.
Do you have any internet plan?
had the same problem as you and found out that my internet settings were wrong. Once I put in the correct info, everything was working fine.
I use the 5.99 plan proxy.

You are right about that, but not giving him any information. Network Wizard takes care of everything you just mentioned short of paying for your data plan.
Um... theres no USA option in network wizrd just installed it. A little insight would help.
Thanks to all for the help. Now I can send and receive MMS messages!

Cant get MMS on 8525, TNT.19199

for some reason my MMS will no longer receive messages at all... I have no idea why and its not due to any changes I made because I didn't make any. I used the auto connection config on WM6.1, for ATT and USA, and my internet works fine, I can receive e-mails and send them (only after removing the proxy), but all that works, I can send SMS and receive those no issues but I just cant do MMS, or I cant receive them. Not sure if I can send them or not I haven't tested that.
Connection settings are wap.cingular user id [email protected] pass CINGULAR1 configured for that being the internet connection...
MMS settings
gateway:
wireless.cingular.com
port:
80
server address:
http://mmsc.cingular.com
connect via:
MEdia Net
send limit:
100k
WAP version:
WAP 2.0
Retrieval mode set for auto, attempts is 3, and reject msgs is NOT checked off...
Any input?
Any time I go to an ATT or Cingular store they are always dumbfounded and don't know what to do since I have a 8525 with a non cingular ROM, and WM6.1 instead of 5.
Same here
I have the same issue...
Look for Arcsoft cab file. Run it then run the network wizard again...
MMS Works Now...
Yeah, uninstall Arcsoft MMS program from your phone, do a soft reset, re-install it on your phone, do a soft reset, run the connection wizard, do a soft reset. That finally worked for me.
so the new 5.x version of mms arcsoft doesnt work with MMS's? Either way I went with a more blan ROM for the meantime, and I just ordered a 8925 so I wont be worrying about this anymore.
I have many many many
Many Arcsoft MMS Composers has diferent kind of things the 4.2.8.1 works in a separated folder for sms and the newer 5.0.70 works inside of the SMS folder so... try wahtever the 5.0.70 supports 399K and dont have WAP type (1.2 or 2.0)
Enter to this site
http://winmodevelopers.freeforums.org/portal.php
go to software for all link and download the arcsoft and mms enable cabs

Cannot access Gmail through native email app

After setting up access to my Gmail account through the native email tool, when I do a send/receive, I get and error saying:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings. etc..."
The only time I can do a successful send/receive is when my X1 is connected to my laptop - then I get all my emails. I have already appplied Windows Mobile 6.1 Hot Fix for Sending POP and IMAP E-mail.
I suspect some settings might be wrong - everything else is working fine. Am even getting 3G in SoCal using AT&T on MediatNet. My settings are as follows:
Access point name: wap.cingular
Domain: <blank>
Proxy Setting
Proxy Server: wireless.cingular.com
HTTP: wireless.cingular.com:80
WAP: <blank>
Secure WAP: <blank>
Socks: localhost:1080
Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.
almost certainly its because you are using a WAP connection.
I've never been able to use POP or SMTP on any phone through a WAP connection.
Try using the APN for cingular full internet
a quick google comes up with:-
APN: isp.cingular
User: [email protected]
Pass: CINGULAR1
but don't quote me, and you may need to check with cingular whether they need to change something their end to enable you to use that APN
Im pretty new to email on my phone but i had the same problem i.e. if i was on wireless i could get mail but if i connected via gprs i would get the same error, can not connect etc, i had to set up and new account with the same details as the account which would send and recieve via wirless and tell it to connect via t-mobile internet as there wasnt an auto option, so i now have two accounts for the same email one accesses via the internet and one via t-mobile internet, you can change this if you edit account setup.
Not sure if this is your problem or if i have read it wrong.
Hope this helps
Hi Masseur,
Thanks for the pointer. I did try but looks like it made no difference. Not sure what's wrong from my settings.
Anyone else has seen this? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Folks,
Someone in another forum pointed me to the solution. As it turn out, gmail doesn't work off proxys with AT&T. The automatic setup for AT&T had the proxy checked. All was needed is to take out the proxy and just keep the http settings. Working now!
