HELP!!! VERY URGENT - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

hi,
I've XDA I with RUU tmobile 4.0.1and RSU 4.21
I'm trying to return to original o2 rom
I've cooked from rom kitchen t-mobile 2003 ruu rom
When I launch exe file the pc give me this error:
"ERROR: GetDeviceData - An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
error getting devicedata"
and then
"ERROR 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR. Cannot execute the remote communication program. Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly connected."
I've try to put nb1 file on sd card with image tool but my device has bootloader 5.17 and it doesn't work!
As I've installed t-mobile 4.01, the phone part of the device doesn't work (I've accidentaly swith to 1900, my sim card support only 900/1800 and here in italy there's no 1900 net)
Anyone knows other methods to load ruu from sd or can help me to resolve activesync error?

So whats the reason for you wanting to downgrade, is it because your radio is no longer working?
If thats the case you just need to up/downgrade your radio stack, on
that note I suggest you upgrade to the Qtek 1010 Radio Stack.
The Qtek 1010 Radio Stack Upgrade can be found at:
http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads/asiapacific.htm
Download Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe
Note: Last time I checked the the above file came with both the ROM and Radio upgrade, so just use the one for the radio.
HTH

I had the same problems you did, without wanting to steal anyone's thunder, my thread here : http://xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3860 deals with those issues and points you to the threads where easy answers can be found. I also operate off 900/1800 and have the info in that thread on how to change back from 900/1900 to 900/1800. Let us know if there's anything there that gets you stumped.
Don't play with RUU unless someone who knows what they're really talking about advises that you should for good reason.

"For all of you having the same problem I have been having after upgrading to the O2 4.21 RSU here is what I have found makes the loading of the RSUpgrade files into the \windows directory work. You need to also copy the monitor_ul_bs.m0 and monitor_ul_bs.map files to the windows directory. Then when you execute the RSUpgrade.exe it works.
I posted this on another thread but thought it might help someone else here."
it made me 6.24 version! and it works now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks barjohn, so many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
where to find these two files?
Thanking you all

Can I copy radio version from 1 XDA to another?

I have in my possession 2 XDA's at the moment. 1 with a USA T-Mobile radio version 6.18 and another with a UK O2 4.21 radio version. I'd like both to have the USA T-Mobile radio version 6.18.
Can someone explain or point me to how to copy the radio from 1 to another with an SD card?
Thanks in advance.
I know about the SD backup and restore through the bootloader. I have version 5.15 btw.
When I try to backup the GSM, and I assume this is the radio, it says "Please connect RS232 and run PC Monitor."
I don't know what this means and havn't found a reference to it yet on this site.
Just get the update from tmobile, and take the radio files out of the english directory and put them in /windows on your device, and flash the radio that way.
The TMobile update has 1 NBF file - NK.nbf The radio and the OS files aren't separated.
Once the T-Mobile OS update is finished, it launches the TMUpdate program that then tries to updates the Radio, but since the radio is at 4.21, it won't update the radio to 6.18 because of some internal version check.

I have a similar problem with an O2 XDA.
OS update works fine. During GSM update the connection dropped.
After reboot I have a blank screen.
When I try to backup the GSM, and this is the radio, it says "Please connect RS232 and run PC Monitor."
I also don't know what this means.

slow and bad connection

I have upgarded long time back my Qtek to T-mobile test only ROM.
ROM version 4.00.21
ROM date 8/11/03
Radio version 4.210.00
protocol version 32S54
it is begomming very slow plus the reception of teh phone is so bad.
am trying to change teh ROM version but the system is giving me this error please help:
ERROR: GetDeviceData - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
cannot execute the remote communication program. please make sure that the usb/serial cable is properly connected
Tmobile ROMs can't be flashed through USB .. you have to use SD methode.
This slowness is a known bug in older WM2003 ROMs ... either to use a recent ROM like 4.01.16 or A30.09 .... or to install the fix named "clear_notify.exe" in your \windows\startup directory
Bad signal could be out of the RSU 4.21 ... depends on your network and the device type you can use a better RSU ... but it's a very risky action!!!

wallaby radio stack update

I have a sx56 and I recently updated the rom to 2003 via the kitchen. I now would like to update my radio stack. I don't have an active sync cable so i need to do it through my sd card. Is this possible? Can someone tell me the best RS to use. I also need directions on how to go about downloading and installing the new radio stack. Also is there any way to upgrade to 2003se without active sync. My phone info is as follows:
unlocked AT&T sx 56 used on t-mobile
pw10b1
ROM 4.01.16 ENG
Radio version A.33.02
protocal version 1.3.3
thanks
Why do you want to upgrade your RadioStack? If it´s all working, i would stay....
Anyway, on the FTP are some RadioStacks, that are designed to run directly on your device.
# Extract the downloaded ZIP-File and copy all files to the /Windows directory of your device.
# Copy the RSUpgrade.exe additional to the /windows/startup directory.
# Make an soft reset of your device.
Without ActiveSync, there is no possibility to upgrade to WM2003SE....
Stefan
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't get great signal strength on my phone and figured a new radiostack might help. But before I take chances upgrading, will a new radiostack help with signal strength?
It may help, but it must not.
You have to choose one of the 6.xx Radio Stacks.
If the upgrade fails, your phone might end as paper weight. That's the risc you have to handle with....
Stefan
DON'T TRY TO UPGRADE RADIO STACKS!!! DANGEROUS!!!
Guys, don't even think of it. Today I killed my wallaby. I had a radio 6.24.00 and I wasn't glad because of poor signal strength in places where other phones work great. I downloaded from xda ftp a radio stack upgrade soft to a version 6.25. Followed the instructions and started the procedure. On 60% it said do try again. I tryed and second time it stopped the procedure of upgrade at the very beginning. So, my phone doesn't work any more. I dont know what is that soft for if it kills the wallby phones. I wish I didn't do that.
